OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To describe more in-depth the Jedi Temple on my custom moon.
  • Image Credit: Deviantart, edited in Photoshop be me.
  • Canon: N/A
  • Permissions: N/A
  • Links: Sellia II, Ord Providence
SETTING INFORMATION
  • Structure Name: Sellian Jedi Praxeum
  • Classification: Temple
  • Location: Ord Providence, Sellia II
  • Affiliation: Galactic Alliance
  • Accessibility: Sellia II is easily accessed. Ord Providence's close proximity to the Rimma Trade Route and the moon's highly stable atmosphere make visitation incredibly easy. The Sellian Jedi Praxeum, thus, is also easily accessed, located fairly close to the upper atmosphere of the moon.
  • Description: A relatively small temple sanctioned by Ord Providence's Council of Elders in 722 ABY. The hope was that, along side the planet's already toxic atmosphere, that a Jedi Praxeum would further increase the security of their world. The structure is built into hanging offshoots of a larger root structure, naturally grown into place by the Jedi who constructed the temple. While the temple is a generally remote location, it has begun to pick up prominence as the ideal location for Jedi to hone their piloting skills.
POINTS OF INTEREST
  • Hanging Gardens
    • A garden space in the center of the Temple, cube shaped dirt plots woven together by reinforced vines. These cuts of soil, which are covered in vegetation, are suspended over the lobby and can be accessed via staircase.
  • Sparring Chambers
    • A set of chambers on the east wing where present Jedi can hone their combat abilities.
  • Meditation Chambers
    • A set of chambers on the west wing where present Jedi can meditate. Fountains can be found in the center of each chamber.
  • Agricultural Study
    • A space dedicated to the Agricultural Corps. where the Jedi Order's greatest botanists and aspiring plant enthusiasts can gather to experiment with farming methods that both enhance local ecosystems and improve productivity to tackle the food shortages faced by the wider Galaxy.
  • Ship Forge
    • A lower hanger dedicated to the maintenance and construction of starfighters. Here, Jedi pilots can experiment with, engineer, or repair customized and experimental craft alike. These ships are then tested in Sellia II's unique environment, where weaving through the giant vines that cover the surface can test the skill of the pilot and the quality of their vessels.
  • Launch Point Aurek
    • The main launch point for starfighters.
  • Launch Point Besh
    • The secondary launch point for starfighters.
  • Housing
    • Housing. Separated into visiting students, resident students, visiting knights/masters, resident knights/masters, and Agricultural Corps exclusive housing.

SECURITY
Medium. A small Temple Guard detachment protect the Praxeum at all times, and the local Sellites find cultural significance in defending the structure. Aside from skilled combatants defending the structure, as well as the abundance of starfighters, the Temple itself lacks any form of built-in defenses.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The Sellian Jedi Praxeum is a small and relatively unknown academy of the Jedi Order, but it's become an underground hotbed for Jedi pilots looking to test their metal against the strange flora of the moon. In 722 ABY it was agreed upon that a Jedi Praxeum would be founded on the moon, an agreement between Ord Providence's oligarchical council and the Jedi Order. The Sellites, a local culture of isolationist GAR intimidators, welcomed the arrangement with eagerness and began to guard the Temple for ceremonial purposes. Because of it's favorable atmosphere and strange local plant life, the Agricultural Core has also staked a claim in the Praxeum. It is a favored destination for Jedi who wish to have a smaller, more niche learning experience within the confines of the Order.
