- SPAAG: The IAAT/AA is a dedicated anti-air platform, capable of engaging a variety of aircraft and spacecraft with its twin mass-driver cannons.
- Heavy firepower: In addition to its twin mass-driver cannons, the IAAT/AA possesses a number of offensive weapon systems, such as laser cannons, FLAK turrets and energized projectile launchers.
- Bullet hose: The twin mass-driver cannons boast an impressive rate of fire, allowing them to engage fast moving targets.
- Suppressive fire: Though ostensibly an anti-aircraft platform, the IAAT/AA is quite effective against infantry and lightly armored vehicles.
- Heavy armor: The IAAT/AA retains the same heavy armor as its predecessor, the AAT.
- Battlewagon: The IAAT is capable of carrying up to six soldiers on the outside of its hull. Each passenger has completely unobstructed vision and is able to lend the firepower of whatever weapon they are carrying.
- Upgrade package: To keep costs down on an otherwise incredibly expensive vehicle, the IAAT/AA uses existing AAT hulls from Mahporeem.
- Bullet hose: The impressive rate of fire of the IAAT/AA's mass-driver cannons can cause the vehicle to expend its physical ammunition rather rapidly.
- Small storage: The IAAT/AA only holds a small amount of physical ammunition on board, necessitating frequent reloading of the vehicle's mass-driver cannons and energized projectile launchers.
- No ground to air ordinance: The design of the IAAT/AA prevents the vehicle from using any type of surface to air missiles.
- Slow: The increased weight of the IAAT/AA's weapons systems have made the vehicle even slower than a base AAT.
- Unmaneuverable: Much like the base AAT, the IAAT/AA is a cumbersome vehicle, even with its repulsorlift system.
- Battlewagon: Any passengers riding on the outside of the vehicle are completely exposed to the elements and enemy attack.
- Facelift: The IAAT/AA was not built from the ground up, instead relying on pre existing AAT hulls. This means that the vehicle retains the same drive and propulsion systems, limiting overall performance.
Although the Mahporeem Imperial Remnant is known to produce a bewildering array of different vehicles, it has been noted that significant gaps exist within their inventory, such as with the lack of a dedicated anti-aircraft vehicle. Though vehicles such as the TIE Crusher were able to compensate for this oversight, Mahporeem has dedicated to correct this issue by once again teaming with with N&Z Umbrella Corporation.
The resulting Imperial Armored Assault Tank/Anti-Air, or IAAT/AA for short, is the third example of the Imperial Remnant's IAAT line of vehicles. Unlike the previous two iterations of the Armored Assault Tank, the IAAT/AA is focused on engaging enemy aircraft and spacecraft, thanks to the installation of twin mass-driver cannons. N&Z has provided the tank with a host of other upgrades, such as an advanced sensor array and the capability to utilize FLAK turrets in place of the tank's standard laser cannons.
Such an upgrade package is now, for the first time, being offered not just to the Mahporeem Imperial Remnant but also to customers of N&Z Umbrella Corporation, who can now send antiquated AAT hulls to Mahporeem to be retrofitted into IAAT/AAs. Eventually, it is the sincere hope of the Mahporeem Imperial Remnant to offer all variants of its IAATs to customers of N&Z, as a series of upgrade packages.
