OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To submit a lesser version of the Zeus mk II for diverse tasks
  • Canon Link: N/A
  • Permissions: N/A
  • Primary Source: [X] [X]
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
  • Manufacturer: N&Z Umbrella Corporation and subsidiaries
  • Affiliation: Closed Market
  • Model: Proto-ZEUS Mk II
  • Modularity: Capacity to be programmed as Mathematic droid brain, slicer droid brain, processing droid brain and relay droid brain for a wide variety of applications.
  • Production: Mass Production
  • Material: Infinium 01458 Outer shell, Ersteel 145 bits and pieces, Electronic miniature generator, Gabona memory crystals, electronic code, programming, digits.
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Can be preprogrammed to act as either an additional processing core for any main ZEUS or KRONOS unit.
  • High capacity unit allowing for use as Mathematics droid brain.
  • High processing power allowing it to be used as Slicer droid brain
  • High storage capacity allows for refined functions in larger applications with other droid cores and AI for increased efficiency.
STRENGTHS
  • Very Compact: The use of electromagnetic currents to transfer data through the transferance of heat or induction rather than a whole heap of wires and memory crystals, makes it so that the Proton droid core is capable of being built in sizes ranging from a small pea to the size of an egg depending on the desired use and storage capacity.
  • Hard to crack: Due to its unique system of data accumulation, storage and transferance, it is already pretty hard to crack with conventional slicing methods and tools compared to other droid cores and AI, but adding in the fact that this can not be performed wireless is a whole different ballgame due to the fact that in a hand on approach, the slicer or hacker has to be aware of the very poisonous nature of the Infinium outer shell.
  • Highly modular: With some little tinkering upon the production process, the Proton can be used in a variety of applications ranging from auxilary droid brain to other more powerful units as well as more specific applications as a slicer or mathemathics droid brain.
WEAKNESSES
  • Poisonous: The Infinium 01458 outer shell is extremely poisonous, thus making hands on repairs or adjustments rather dangerous, given that the result of thispoisoning is not something which anyone would want to live through. It also impedes emergency repairs in times of crisis.
  • Pretty darn expensive and hard to repair: Though upon acquirement they are not at all expensive, the fact that most utilized technology and materials for the Proton are either only available or known to the N&Z umbrella Corporation and it's subsidiaries, makes it near impossible to have it repaired, converted or upgraded by any other company that is not affiliated to the N&Z.
DESCRIPTION
With the ZEUS Mk II firmly established in the company's products ad many of its own internal applications, the question did arise on how to mitigate many of its flaws, especially on board more complex systems such as large buildings and ships, which generally require a lot of processing power and in which case a single unit may not suffice. A second issue was that despite the ZEUS Mk II's impressive capabilities and capacities, it was in fact too large for more minimalist and generally smaller applications such as cyphers and datapads, not to mention that the use of multiple ZEUS Mk II's in a single technological circuit, though manageable and possible without a fault did end up being rather expensive and complex to design, maintain and repair.

Thus the N&Z's designers and engineers got to work on a miniature version of the ZEUS units, lowering it's general processing power and removing it's Artificial Intelligence to have it act more as a single purpose unit or auxilary unit to support the larger, more complex and capable ZEUS and KRONOS units in their task. The Proton as it was called, named after one of the elementary parts of an atom, was designed to be much smaller, with its size ranging from that of an egg (high capacity form) to the size of a single pea (mathematics, slicer varieties) which turned out to be a much more manageable size for applications such as smaller electrical circuits, smaller devices that did not need an AI etc, due to it's smaller size and thus also smaller output, the company also discovered that connecting it to other systems seemed to be a lot less demanding and complex in comparison to fully fledged ZEUS units which needed an additional part to be able to do so, this allows for better integration within foreign systems, better communication and a much more versatile, general use.
