With the re-establishment of the Final Dawn and its rapid expansion across the territories of the now-defunct Imperial Confederation, it became quickly apparent that significant investments into the Final Dawn's military would have to be made to simultaneously consolidate its new gains and challenge the various rivals that would seek to undermine it. While it had inherited large portions of the vast military assets of the now-defunct Imperial Confederation, the Final Dawn had also inherited the Confederation's lack of standardization, putting it at a great disadvantage, especially if it were to pursue conflict against its many rivals.
As such, under the direction of Supreme Commander Marlon Sularen, a vast standardization program was launched with SularenCo moving forth to begin the development of new military products aimed at replacing the far more inefficient ones once utilized by the Imperial Confederation while also setting the standards for the standardization program, especially given the Final Dawn's active collaboration with other corporations such as Vandemarian Techwrights and the N&Z Umbrella Corporation.
One of the products of this program was the TIE/DI Disruptor, a modernized Interceptor fighter modelled after the classic TIE Interceptor utilized by the First Galactic Empire centuries ago. By combining speed, maneuverability and firepower, the TIE/DI would be the Final Dawn's ultimate counter to equally agile and powerful elite starfighters and interceptors fielded by hostile factions like the Wild Space Rebellion, providing its Naval Forces with a powerful asset guaranteed to secure starfighter supremacy in crucial naval confrontations, ensuring that the Final Dawn's rise to power will remain uncontested.
