  • Get Outta Dodge: The SGM-90 Sideswipe boasts a much higher than average area of effect when compared to it's counterparts elsewhere in the market. Manufactured to meet a compromise between dealing as much damage as possible over as wide an area as possible, the SGM-90 emits a devastating concussive shockwave upon detonation which uses an unsophisticated, but effective amount of brute force to level surrounding structures and disform terrain, by the time some poor soul knows it's coming, there's not a particularly large chance of them getting out of it's blast radius.

  • Great Shot: One would assume designing a missile which can accurately lock onto, seek and destroy a target on the ground from either the upper atmosphere or even in the orbit of a planet would be a difficult task, and they would be right.. Of course, this doesn't mean it hasn't already been done. So long as the starship the missile is being fired from is capable of providing detailed targeting data, the Sideswipe can take out a target from orbit, granting global battlefield coverage to local, regional and supreme commanders depending on where the firing starship is located, in theory it's only real limit is fuel, though the SGM-90 is already at peak fuel efficiency, so customers cannot expect to further increase it's range.

  • Size DOES Matter: Much like it's spaceborne counterpart the VIM-67, the Sideswipe is known for it's large size and hefty weight, making it both a hassle to transport around the interior of a ship, as well as taking up much needed room that could house other, smaller weapons. While the weapon's standard-issue operating manual attempts to clarify the logistics of how many would be needed for how much damage inflicted and so forth, at the end of the day it is left up to the ranking officers of whichever client utilizes the weapon to decide how many of these storage-devouring missiles they choose to take with them during any given engagement.

  • Blow that Piece of Junk Out of the Sky: Unlike it's spaceborne counterpart, however, the SGM-90 does not have dedicated stealth capabilities and will be as easy to detect in the sky as any other piece of military hardware in it. Due to it's large size and somewhat slow descent when compared to faster, plasma and turbolaser weapons, this does make the missile vulnerable to anti-aircraft fire from the ground as well as any interceptors in-atmosphere bold enough to try and shoot down a missile. However, while slow compared to other, energy-based forms of orbital bombardment, Osato Aerospace often emphasizes that the Sideswipe is still very much quick in practice.

The Ship-to-Ground Missile 90 or SGM-90 Sideswipe is a long-range, all-environment, space-capable cruise missile developed by a joint venture between Osato Aerospace and Nakaioma Defense Dynamics, two subsidiary corporations of the NAKAIOMA group. Produced as part of the two corporations' new HyperWar line-up of next generation missiles, the SGM-90 was released to the market at the NAKAIOMA Corporate Expo on Coruscant in 875ABY. Intended to fill the role of a ship-launched missile which could hit land based targets with much greater accuracy than conventional turbolaser orbital bombardment or artillery, the Sideswipe utilizes network-centric warfare-capabilities (utilizing data from third-party censors such as on-board starship equipment, nearby friendly satellites, ground troops and so forth) to ensure that even when fired from orbit the missile is able to sufficiently manoeuvre it's way to the target, taking planetary curvature, local environmental conditions and changes in gravity into account. Coming equipped with a built-in loiter mode, the missile can change it's mid-flight speed at the commanding officer's whim, enabling it to change course (within reason), slow down to avoid encountering enemy air support, or speed up to push through a sudden increase in enemy air defense. When in loiter mode, the SGM-90 can even use it's onboard sensors to transmit battlefield information to ground troops or serve as an airborne relay station to more quickly transmit communications.

Another cool submission! However I have to ask to reword the "No Way Outta Dodge". Always the opponent/defender decides how your attack was successful. In the mentioned strengths you don't give any chance to them to survive in PvP without godmodding. So please reword it and use conditional mode during the wording, especially where you mention the internal organ part or the effects on living creatures.

Should hopefully be fixed.
