It is a dark time once more in the galaxy. An all too brief era of peace and prosperity cultivated in the shadow of the fallen One Sith Empire has given way once more to isolationism and conflict. Splintered with the dissolution of the Republic, there has been no unified galactic Jedi Order for some time now. Regional sects have risen over the interim to fill the vacuum, but they are divided by geography, by scope of influence, and by their interpretations of the Code. As a new shadow grows in the galactic north and large swathes of space still remain untouched by the Light, voices call out for change, and to acknowledge each Order's common virtues over the qualities that divide them.

It began with the diplomats of the Order of the Sacred Lotus, but soon found its champion in the Order of Deneba's [member="Veiere Arenais"]. Today marks the culmination of their grand vision, as a summit of Masters representing Councils from across the galaxy is set to take place at the New Jedi Temple in Galactic City, Coruscant. A legendary world, but even still after all this time undertaking gargantuan reconstruction efforts to repair the damage done to the ecumenopolis during its liberation from the Sith. The work on the new Temple however, had finally been completed months ago.

It had been designed as a new non-denominational sanctum for Jedi from across the galaxy, and although it boasted a sizable quarter for the New Jedi Order to occupy, most of the inner workings had been built specifically to be evocative of archetypal Jedi construction. The halls bore no markings of the Alliance and its denizens wore an array of lighter earth tones, browns and grays, as well as a smattering of whites and off whites, the only apparent indication that the monks who wander its grounds hail from distant stars.

The Gathering Hall...

Banners stream down the hall, displaying the symbols of each attendant order as ornate heraldic tapestries. A great circular carved stone table sits at the center of the cavernous room, with space enough for each member of the delegation from the larger constituencies to sit and speak. At the center of the table lies a starkly modern yet unobtrusively designed holodisplay. Surrounding the meeting table is seating for the multitude of smaller regional enclaves and praxeums whose appeals for inclusion had also been granted by those soon to assemble.

Natural light shines through a solarium glasteel wall with a view on the Temple steps and the occasional scant view of the City of Spires through the cloudlayer below. Overseeing the last of the preparations for the impending conclave, Jedi Masters [member="Aela Talith"] and [member="Taeli Raaf"] have been selected by Grand Marshal Omai Rhen to represent the New Jedi Order on this occasion.

Temple Grounds...

Fusing ultramodern minimalist architecture with stonework based on more ancient principles, the grounds are an oasis of harmonious calm in what is otherwise the most crowded, frenetic place in the known galaxy. The New Jedi Service Corps' AgriCorp division maintains a vast terrarium composing one whole section of the compound. For the past several days, despite the immense scale to which the grand structure was built, most of the corridors are crowded with refugees, and the healing halls are filled to the brim with wounded survivors of the attack on the New Jedi Order's Sullust Temple.

With their home suddenly destroyed by the Contingency, the Grand Marshal and much of the Order leadership has relocated to the New Jedi Temple as they weigh their options on whether to relocate once more, or begin to plant roots on Coruscant.

The Temple Steps...

In light of the day's proceedings, attendant's shuttles have been given special dispensation to land directly on a small auxiliary landing pad normally used strictly for emergencies just outside the Temple itself. Despite the main entrance's great height, localized oxygen and envirocontrol systems obviate the need for breath masks and grav boots in a place where there would otherwise be thin air and gusting winds. The walkway is much wider than it appeared on the flight in, and the Temple much larger too. An honor guard of Jedi Justicars line the final approach at the top of the Temple Steps, exquisitely crafted ornate ceremonial armor shimmering in the sunlight.

Although the Temple itself also bears no outward iconography of the New Jedi Order or the Alliance, its towering pragmatic modern fortress-like design leaves no doubt as to who had been responsible for the oversight of its construction. A beautiful sight to behold, but unmistakably more militant than monastic. Soon the delegations would begin to arrive, and they would see if this council of councils could find common ground.

Planetary Approach...

Even in an off trade season and despite the recent instability of the Galactic Core compared to other regions of the galaxy, the space lanes leading onto and off of the planet's surface are a sight that cannot be beheld anywhere else in the galaxy. Even with its incorporation into the Alliance, it was not long after the One Sith's downfall that life on Coruscant returned more or less to business as usual.

Much of the official traffic in orbit are local customs officers or planetary defense vessels, with only an occasional Alliance picket to be seen as the bulk of GADF forces lie farther out in the system, ready to make the short jump to render assistance in the event of an emergency. Both Galactic City Port Authority and Defense Fleet vessels have been briefed, and will offer no further challenge to any ship once they provide visual confirmation of a delegate's presence on board. They may even offer to provide an escort to bypass the long wait in traffic.

For whatever images, expectations or perceptions others had been given of Veiere Arenais, in the privacy of the Kidem Class Frigate on it's way towards Coruscant, he stood peering out one of the viewing platforms very much the appearance of an anxious man. Grand Master of the Jedi Order of Deneba, Jedi Master, Peace Keeper; these were titles he was known by far and wide according to rumor. Those that knew him personally knew that he did not believe in holding himself to such stature nor that it meant that others were on any less a playing field than he was himself. Integrity was important to him, his core beliefs and those of the Jedi code were founded on integrity. Humble, honest and compassionate for all life and in service to the Force; today was a day that he believed the Force had led him towards...-And in that, the weight that it carried both figuratively and personally to him, the sentient side of his doubts were very much on show as his gaze distanced itself from the immediate and he found himself lost in the depth of his thoughts.

In the past, such meetings had gone rather terribly. He had held two Conclaves since his leave of Alzoc Three to which he had spent a decade within Exile following the attack on Svivren where he was raised and trained to be a Jedi Knight one day. The One Sith had been the victor and defeat of all that he had known and cared for; he had seen the results of chaos and conflict and been personally scarred like many others that would no doubt partake in the conference that was very near to come. He had too seen and felt the consequences for premature action and haste for the offensive...-It seemed that in no matter how you fought the oppression of the Galaxy, the Galaxy itself had learned to justify the hate and prejudice against the Jedi Order of today, splintered and indifferent within it's own people. Years had passed, so much time and this had become ingrained within the society of Jedi to date; to want to discourage this, to try to decrease the distance between their people...-Such a feat would not come without great effort and transparency on all sides, receptive (give and take) efforts and a mutual yearning and faith in one another that of late seemed to be so rare in the life that they knew these days. After all, if the Jedi of the Galaxy could not be the representation of respect, cooperation and peace within themselves, Veiere wondered how they could be expected to bring such a prospective future unto others.

"Masters Jade, Porte and Arenais. We are entering Orbit of Coruscant shortly, please proceed to the lower deck and prepare for arrival" The voice of their pilot Captain Terrac announced across the vessels intercom, a man of whom Veiere knew and trusted personally to taxi him across the Galaxy, his own skills in piloting lacking greatly towards larger craft such as the frigate by comparison.

The notice of their immediate arrival caused Veiere to inhale deeply, a quiet yet nervous intake as he turned to glance towards his peers, [member="Romi Jade"] and [member="Kahne Porte"]. "Let us hope that this fares better than that of Yutan..." He mused in wary humor, often his way of dealing with tense situations. If you couldn't laugh after all, what was the point of anything self driven. The nature of Yutan had been a failure on many ends, one that he'd taken somewhat personally and had eaten away at his confidence as they fought to re-establish the Jedi Order in the area. Though they'd eventually found a home in Deneba and were in the process of looking to other worlds for expansion, the government of Yutan had denied them the stability that they had need in those early days, not to mention the repeated history of the Conclave itself being corroded by some fairly vocal differences in opinion. Ironically, the very same location as the first tragic attempt during the Galactic Republic's end days.

In spending more than thirty years of his life in service to the Jedi Order, Veiere had only been to the temple of Coruscant once. In that time the Temple had been the site of numerous attacks and damages wrought on by offending politics and foes of The Galactic Alliance. Unfortunately, his personal experience alongside the government that presided over the former heart of all Jedi in the Galaxy was not one that Veiere had been graced with much experience. The last time he had been met with any of the Alliance's people was on the world of Atrisia in which they stood on opposing sides. It had marred his view greatly and had taken an excessive amount of personal effort to recognize the fact that both sides had a story to tell and while he had looked to defend Atrisia from the atrocities that occurred that day, he had come to recognize that the Alliance surely had their own reasons for intervening.

As the host of the New Jedi Order, the experience had crippled Veiere's reach greatly. As a Jedi he was taught not to judge, yet as a man sentient in nature, like all he had struggled to divide himself from his heart on the matter. The sight of such horrific conflict, the deeds done, losses on both sides and acts committed by all. War and violence was too much an active factor in politics across the Galaxy. It was these same struggles he faced, that others too had found themselves skeptical of their fellow Jedi. Though one people, with one purpose (Peace and prosperity of the people, honor and service in the Force), the Jedi still were biased of one another and regularly erected stereotypes to claim their purity, seperiority or simply justify their reasons not to come together. In all this, Veiere yearned for these ideals to be set aside, the bias cast out and the glory that was the positive impact and representation of the Light within the Galaxy to return once more. The Order unified in the best interests of galactic society, regardless of government, regardless of military. To serve the Force in the protection of life and the pursuit of peace for all.

Jedi Temple - Gathering Hall

Aela sat quietly at the large meeting table already populated by more than half a dozen different patrons from smaller Jedi Organizations. Each one of them had traveled millions of miles to be here, and each one of them was eager to express their own opinion, thoughts, grievances and pretty much everything else that they had on their minds. Aela had chatted with a few of them already, though the steady stream of people trying to get a word in had ended up causing her a bit of a headache.

She couldn't even imagine what the actual meeting would be like.

The last time this sort of thing had happened was just before the Alliance had started its war with the One Sith. The New Jedi Order and several other organizations had all come together to talk, an event that to her memory had not gone all too well. Perhaps this time it would be different, but...well it was tough to get people to agree to something, even when generally everyone trying to agree to the same thing was already in favor or some other things.

Everyone had their own options, everyone had their own thoughts.

Getting all those people to agree to one thing? Well that was nearly impossible.

Her work in diplomacy had taught her as much over the last few years, and her work with younglings had cemented that fact. She knew that the people coming to this meeting all wanted generally the same things...but how to achieve those things was an entirely different story. The young Jedi Master shook her head, glancing down towards the bracelet on her wrist and gently spinning it for a few moments as she waited for the other guests to arrive.

Briefly Aela reflected on their surroundings, the high arching walls and the tall columns that were arrayed around the room. The loss of Sullust had weighed heavily on her, and with what had happened with Micah and then Ossus...well she felt out of place here for some reason.

Slowly the Jedi Master clutched her fingers together, taking a deep breath and leaning back in her chair.

No time to think about it now.

Having used a family connection Rianna and her nephew [member="Garith Organa"] were on Coruscant staying at the Embassy. Rianna had to admit to some apprehension on her part of being here. This was not her first time on Coruscant she had been here during another time, serving on the Council, and leading the path for the healers of the temple.

She stood alone in the gardens of the Embassy remembering long ago, well what seemed like long ago she had joined the temple on Coruscant and began rebuilding the Circle of Healers slowly. That was how she met her husband [member="Ordo"] he had come to help rebuild that the temple to rebuild the hospital how time passes so quickly. It seemed but the blink of an eye.

There was a day of a battle too all the masters of the temple stood before the invading force, the numerous padawans that had come and gone from the temple, the relaxing times. A sadness filled her then some of the Masters had passed and joined the force since that day. A reminder that at any time a life could be given.

But there was no time right now to keep reflecting it was the past and the past could not be changed. Today was to be about new beginnings a gathering of Jedi from across the galaxy to meet here and now. The Alderaan temple had few members so it should be no surprise that she and Garith came representing them.

She sighed heavily then closed her eyes to clear her mind and began the ancient mantra There is no emotion, there is peace. There is no ignorance, there is knowledge. There is no passion, there is serenity. There is no chaos, there is harmony. There is no death, there is the force. She repeated this to herself as she eased the emotions and memories to reconciliation.

A few deep breaths and the Jedi Master was ready.

On approach to Coruscant, the Jedi healer folded her hands in her lap and bowed her head slightly. The rattle of nerves within was hard to ignore. Still quite new to her position as Grandmaster of the Silver Jedi, she felt that the role was almost like a large pair of boots that she just hadn’t grown into yet. But she was making progress, and she was learning. This would be her first venture into the discussions regarding Jedi affairs, a thought that made her stomach turn slightly in anticipation. Her name was still relatively unknown, so she was very pleased to be accompanied by Thurion Heavenshield. He was well-known galaxy-wide, a respected former Grandmaster of the Order, and her own Master.

As their ship set down, she glanced out the viewport at the Temple. It was certainly an impressive sight; she could understand why it had been chosen to host such an important gathering. Valae straightened her robes, and combed her fingers through her wavy hair. Blowing out a breath, she figured that she was as ready as she’d ever be. Giving a nod to her companions, she walked down the ramp and on towards the Temple.

The grounds were lovely, and offered a much needed aura of calm. However, her mind was still swimming with thoughts. Troubled times had found the Silver Jedi; their worlds had recently suffered attacks from the Galactic Empire and the First Order. It was not only an attack on her people, but an attack of the light itself. While brining all of the Jedi together seemed a task most impossible, she hoped that they would make strides to come together.

Glancing to the side, Valae looked up at Thurion. “Master, I’m nervous…”

It wasn’t necessary to say so; she knew her master would already know. But somehow, it made her feel a little better to say it aloud. She was inexperienced when it came to public speaking. Would she be able to get her thoughts across in a way that made sense? Would she do a satisfactory job representing the Silver Jedi? Valae attempted to shake the thoughts away. With the gathering hall in view, she threw on a smile that was friendly, even if a bit tighter than usual.

Coruscant Jedi Temple - Waiting for the guests

'Well, at least there was a backup,' she thought, sitting next to Aela as they waited for the rest of the delegations to arrive. The destruction wrought upon the Sullust Temple was still having reverbations through the New Jedi Order. A serious debate was going within their own ranks on what they should, whether to move the headquarters of the Jedi here or to somewhere else. Traditionalists wanted the temple here, to reconnect with the roots laid down by the Jedi of old, and to likely thumb their noses at the dark forces pressing in against them.

The idea had been tried before, a gathering of the Jedi to iron out their differences and come together. She had attended one once with her sister, and another that she couldn't quite remember where it was, but neither had gotten very far in actually bringing the different sects together. Times were changing though. Where once darkness had been on the decline, now it was once again thriving. The Sith Empire was on the move, the Alliance leadership had folded to pressure and signed a peace treaty with the First Order, attacks and horrors were occurring on a daily basis across multiple sectors of the galaxy. What was likely most worrying, and what had likely prompted this new attempt at a conclave of Jedi, was the invasions the Silvers had suffered at Imperial hands.

At least they had the foresight, as hosts, to not invite every Jedi to attend. That had been the killer for many of these events, too many voices all trying to talk over each other, each with a different view of what it meant to be a Jedi. So for her, it was the sweetest irony to watch.

Just one more thing the Grand Marshal had trusted her with...

"So, do you think this will go any better than last time?" she whispered to [member="Aela Talith"].

Rosa Gunn

Guest
R
Is had been a long time since Rosa had been to Coruscant as herself. She'd resided her for five years during her time among the One Sith but that had been when Layil had resided over her body and mind. As herself, as Rosa, she had not been here since Darron Wraith had been her betrothed and the Republic had started their fall from grace. From an asethic point of view, the city had changed drastically, numerous skirmishes, two brutal invasions that she could think of and not to mention the shift in tastes of the ruling factions had seen skyscrapers toppled and rebuilt, landmarks she'd recalled as a child had been razed and rebuilt and the skyline had shifted from what she remembered of it. But in the force?

Rosa closed her eyes in the back of the speeder and stretched out. Coruscant had always been a miasma of emotions both light and dark. It was a hubbub of activity, a place where people rushed from place, where the rich resided at the uppermost points and the poor slunk in the shadows. The urgency and speed of it all out Rosa a little on edge, so used to her steady pace on the sand shores of Arda and the jungles of Teth. She opened her eyes however as she felt the bubble of calm that was the Jedi Temple and looked round to watch it draw nearer. utterly alien in appearance, she was pleased to see the even now the ecumenopolis could not disturb the calm and peace that the jedi exuded.

This gathering, was far from the first of its kind, and would be far from the last. Rosa herself had only ever attended one, as a Knight. she recalled a disagreement with a Rekali girl and smiled slightly. Disagreements were as frequent between Jedi as they were Sith, the only difference being they didn't end in violence. She wanted very much to believe that it was possible to unite them, not necessarily under one roof but perhaps under the same cause. Many Jedi of different paths working together would give the dark side something to be concerned about. Perhaps they could bring balance back to a Galaxy torn apart by war.

The speeder slowed and stopped at the temple steps and Rosa disembarked, informing her driver she'd call when they were done and watching him zip away into the lines of passing traffic before turning to ascend the steps and enter the grounds. If her understanding of this moot was correct Rosa would be one of the few people in attendance who did not have an alliance to any order, and taking this fact into consideration, she believed herself very lucky and honoured to have been invited. She made her way across the Temple grounds, reaching out in the force to get an idea for what the general feel of the day was.

Beneath the heavy layer of calm, Rosa got a sense of nervous anticipation. Clearly she was not the only one with high hopes for the days event.

TL;DR I'm in the Temple grounds heading for the hall XD

The Battle of the Aegis, they have come to call it, when the full force of the First Order bared down on the world Ossus under the protection of the Silver Jedi Order, was over. Thurion had faced the Sith Lord [member="Darth Prazutis"] and lived, albeit not without injury; his left leg remained weakened by the black tendrils summoned by foul sorcery, and as such he was forced to utilise a cane while his wounds were given time to heal properly. It was either that or submit himself to a self-induced coma for weeks, shutting down his body in order to fully give himself to the healing powers of the Light side of the Force. It was an easy choice for the aging Jedi; pain was an old friend to him, and one he had long since learned to weather, at that.

His return to Coruscant had him filled with childlike wonder, for he had not set foot on this metropolitan world since the day it fell to the One Sith many years ago. A dark day, one best forgotten. But the Jedi Temple itself, even though rebuilt since the Galactic Alliance liberated the planet from Sith hands, held a special place in his heart; it was here that he had studied under Master Asha as a young boy - where he was practically raised. Too many memories to count came flooding back, and in spite of his limping leg there was no erasing the nostalgic joy he felt.

Only when Valae, his last and most successful of padawans, addressed him was he brought back to present time. Thurion looked down at her as they walked side by side and offered her a kind smile, taking her hand in his. "You will do just fine, kiddo. You've always been stronger than you think." He stumbled a bit with the cane and thus put his arm around her for the remainder of the walk towards the Jedi gathering. "Help an old man out, would you kindly," he asked of her before placing a gentle kiss upon her head.

"I am so proud of you," he added softly, almost like a whisper.

Her eyes shot up as the musings of her masters filed the room. She couldn't wipe away the smirk written on her face, she could tell he was nervous as she'd been right by his side she she was a mere Padawan; she knew the signs. "Are you sweating?" she asked after it go quiet. She often teased him, "Things will go fine Master, don't worry yourself." she looked over to [member="Kahne Porte"] as she began to giggle to herself.

She hadn't been to Coruscant since before the One Sith, and she had never seen the Jedi Temple in it splendor before. Her only recollection was through oral history from Masters before her. Most if none would be able to have a opportunity like this, and this was part of the reason she really wanted to be apart of this delegation.

She'd take in the Coruscanti sites from their ship as they descended....

---------------------------------------------------

T E M P L E S T E P S

Her chest deflated as the air she'd been holding onto escaped between her lips. She stood on the landing pad, her hair blowing in the wind as she looked up. The towering fortress had caught her eye, and while she had never been the one for such structures, this was her first time ever laying eyes on the Temple itself.

Blink

Her eyes quickly dried out from her constant daze, and she was met with the presences of [member="Veiere Arenais"] and Kahne who had finally made their way off the ship. She soon catch their pace and proceed towards the gathering. She'd be positive about the whole ordeal, as she knew many would be reluctant...

"You're doing it wrong", he said while walking into the garden. His aunt Rianna Ar'klim-Organa not to far away from him. She was doing nothing wrong. He was smiling. He was just being silly and being playful. They were about to go in a possibly stressful situation. The best medicine in life was laughter. If he could get her to laugh, then maybe he would have at least done some good today.

Among the giggling that was occurring which in part did bring a sense of amusement to the Jedi Master's mind. Which helped a great deal for those brief seconds as his mind occupied by other things at the moment. Kahne had often wondered what it was like a long time ago, before the rise of the Galactic Empire and the days of the Emperor. The Jedi wondered what it was like for their to be a single unified Jedi order and how it stayed alive and vibrant for such a long period of time. Years ago when he wasn't occupied with force techniques and lightsaber arts he had fallen deeply into the history of the Jedi Order. Many great Jedi existed during that time and he wondered what they would do during the time now.

The shuttle gave a small shake as the eyelids of the man blinked several times fast, being shoved from his place of deep thought into what was going on now. Kahne's hand rose and he rubbed his chin lightly his ears almost barely picking up what was being said or what was going on at the present time. While a Jedi's mind was supposed to be a clear and concise, it wasn't for the Jedi Master. Kahne rose from his seat and took a deep breath and exhaled slowly as he glanced to either side of him as the shuttle came to a stop on the platform. Coruscant had seen much change in the past years, some good and some bad.

Kahne was happy that the planet was now under Alliance control, that was something to be thankful for. Kahne always respected those few individuals among the Alliance, as he would to this day. He hoped Coruscant would flourish under their occupation. He hadn't been in touch or in contact with any of them during the time after his departure. Much had happened and it was quite the long story.

The Jedi Master glanced around after he departed the ship and stood by his fellow Councilors and just glanced over at them. He knew they were wondering just as he was whether this meeting would do any good at all. Kahne wasn't present at the last meeting and he thank the force for that one. While Kahne had his doubts as well as his restraints about such a thing. He did have hope that maybe something good would come out of it. A mutual understanding at least.

The Jedi placed his hands behind his back as he smiled at the marvelous structure before them. "It's a good a time as any." Kahne glanced at his fellow members before looking ahead again as they would begin their trek towards the rendezvous. The Jedi Master spoke through the force towards his fellow councilors, [member="Romi Jade"] [member="Veiere Arenais"]

My friends, while we are here to find a common ground. We represent our order and should remember we have to do what is in the best interest of that order.

Following her fight against the First Order Navy in the Belderone sector, Arisa had returned to her home-world of Kiribi with yet another convoy of refugees from the Outer Rim, one wave of many to join the ever-growing diaspora. It was while working on the ongoing resettlement mission and other projects that she received the call for a new conclave, this time set on Coruscant. While the ill memory of Yutan was still on the brain, she decided to attend after some mulling, representing the fledgling Enclave currently operating out of Kiribi.

Nothing productive had ever come out of any the other ones called previously, but the current situation faced by all attendees may finally promote cooperation. They were now surrounded on all sides by the Sith and their proxies, and individually no Jedi organization had come up with a solution to combat the onslaught. For once in a long time, more Jedi than not seemed to want to do something about the resurgence of the Sith and avoid a repeat of the One Sith's galactic hegemony.

Flying by personal courier with a tiny party, the flight from Izrul to Galactic City was short, only a few minutes by hyperspace. After landing, she promptly exited the chromed Nubian ship, black dress and coat billowing in the drafty air. On her far right, she recognized one of the other craft as belonging to the Silver Jedi Order. That meant that Valae was already around somewhere. Her dark eyes lingered on the ship as she experienced a fresh pang of guilt.

Finally, she turned away and trudged forward, eyes now locked on her black heels as she considered the awkward times likely ahead.

Stephanie Swail. Padawan. One time deserter of the Silver Jedi. Student of the Je'daii. Explorer. All of these things didn't make sense why she had been called to accompany her Master - the Grandmaster herself - and a legendary hero to meet representatives of fellow Jedi Order's across the galaxy. Maybe it was to learn. Maybe it was to open her eyes and see the unifications possible beyond Voss.

Either way, it was too much to comprehend following the invasion of Ossus and how she had fared.

Waving on the others, Stephanie forced a smile and stayed quiet, heading to the toilet in the ship. It was there she had to kneel for a few minutes, hand holding her hair back and a cold sweat forming while she was sick.

So embarrassing to feel anxiety of this magnitude, but she was only human.

The flusher took everything away. Stephanie sighed, the cold sweat glistening on her brow while she sat on the floor, eyes closed, catching her breath.

Coruscant was a marvel to behold, and it seemed different from the first time she had been here to explore the Jedi history. Now they were coming to a magnificent new building she hadn't seen before, and she walked in her Hapan gowns and Silver Jedi robe looking around at the magnificent architecture framed by the low hanging clouds. She inhaled long and slow, calming herself and taking it all in.

She smiled at the sight of Thurion and Valae up ahead, and felt comforted by their presence alone. Yes, she was excited and eager to meet others. Yes, she was worried.

No, she was not afraid.

Aela stayed quiet for a moment, then shrugged. "Perhaps."

There was no way to tell really.

She had her own doubts of course, but at the very least things were supposed to be a bit more quiet this time around. There was no real way of telling who would attend, though she had gotten to take a peek or two at the guest list. Not everyone would show up of course, but even if they did the list would still be much smaller than it had been at any of the previous gatherings. The Jedi Master frowned for a moment, glancing at the entrance of the Gathering Hall before looking at Taeli.

"We'll have to keep things on topic." She said quietly. "Make sure people don't talk over one another."

Moderators, that's what they would have to be. "Hopefully people can be adults."

That was almost funny coming from her. Aela was only twenty six years old, but at the last gathering...well it seemed that several of the Jedi Masters had acted like children. She could still remember the event quite well, the distaste of it filling her mouth for a moment.

"Either way I suppose we'll find out soon." People were beginning to arrive.

As always, the humorous attitude of [member="Romi Jade"] worked to try to de-escalate the tension about him. She whom he had trained personally had not been around during the previous meetings and conclaves that he had held, able to keep politics both Jedi and otherwise completely separate from their training and journey as Master and Apprentice; Veiere often found him graced with her ability to feign ignorance in most stressful situations despite her rather mischievous behavior at times, when it came to the opinions and judgments of others hers was a persona more innocent and astray from such things. Because of Veiere's wish to keep her distracted from what his opinion of the fractured Order of the galaxy was, he doubted she had been to Coruscant before now. Perhaps in her own time since being Knighted but otherwise Veiere was under the impression this was as rare for Romi as it was for himself and while stepping off of the landing ramp alongside [member="Kahne Porte"], he took a moment to glance to the pair of his fellow companions gauging their reactions at the sight of such a monstrous beauty. This city world, for all it's millions of peoples and what seemed to be just as many sky towering structures also had it's darker side as did most places. The heart of many a political scandal and of course criminal empires that were rumored to run the underworld and lower levels of the grand metropolis. Had they the time to take in all that Coruscant had to offer, he had little doubt that they could find as much trouble here as they could the splendor of being in such an open and lively world.

Kahne's voice stirred him again from his thoughts to bring his attention back to the immediate with a curt nod from Veiere in response. Beginning their walk from the landing pad across the wide path that hung over force knows what sort of a height, they found themselves greeted by the shadow of the new Temple for which the New Jedi Order of the Galactic Alliance had apparently been restoring. There was certainly something to be said about the atmosphere of the place here, as much a symbol of meaning and intent to the world in purpose as it was to provide a place of guidance and tutelage to those of its Order; the Coruscanti Temple seemed to want to make an example to all for the Jedi's purity by way of looking all encompassing and for lack of a better word "flash" in it's design.

My friends, while we are here to find a common ground.
We represent our order and should remember we have to do what is in the best interest of that order.
Kahne's words were offered telepathically, perhaps so to ensure privacy in the sentiment; Veiere understood his reasons though to one part also disagreed with his fellow Councilors immediate precautions. What the Jedi were agreeing to in coming together today he realized ensured no promises as of yet, however their purpose here was to try to incorporate the ideals of a once again unified Order, one that while watching over all corners of the known galaxy and yes representing their own varying sectors or majorly focused areas on the navigational charts, their purpose at the end of the day was what Veiere hoped would eventually be the same. "I would like transparency in how we are to approach this delegation, my friend" Veiere turned to glance to Kahne, offering a faint smile though his eyes were perhaps urging the matter more so as he sought to gauge Kahne's reaction to these words. "After all, what hope can we expect to have of our peers here today if we are looking only in and of ourselves...The Galaxy cannot afford Jedi to be ignorant of themselves and the short comings of their own whilst too hoping to better guide others outside of our domain". For lack of a better choice in words, he knew not what hope there would be for the overall effectiveness of the Jedi if they were not first able to come together and help right the wrongs of their past.

As ideal and perfect as his hopes might be, Veiere had come this far on faith and was not above or beyond questioning that faith from time to time. Often he found himself in doubt of his actions, perhaps judging himself most harshly first before anyone else had the chance to do so. He was his own worst critic when it came to the moral right and wrongs of a Jedi's life in service to the force and of the code itself. Sooner to point the finger at himself than he was to do so of others...-Today held a great weight of significance to him personally, it was what he felt his path had been leading up to, it was the one consistent goal and dream that had never faltered despite the Commenor Systems Alliance coming into being; despite the Dominion of Ession beginning and then his unexpected yet necessary leave of it before it had really grown into anything. so many plans had come and gone, intentions turned against him and yet this was always in his heart and mind; this hope for the Jedi to meet on mutual ground and seek to work together. He had never seen beyond this point yet in his ambitions, this had always been his goal...-And that was why he was nervous.

They were greeted with the Justicaars of the Jedi of Coruscant, these Watchmen of the Order or perhaps considered the elite guardians of the Temple, they stood guard upon either side of the delegations approach as they moved to enter the Temple itself greeted again by it's astonishing decor and general marvel of the structures interior. On their own it would be difficult to know which way to turn though as it happened, they were to be escorted to the place of meeting for this great conference of Masters and Councils of each significant Order. On their way, it was on his mind that he'd no doubt run into some very familiar people he had come to cross paths with before. [member="Arisa Yune"] was the first on his mind, she of whom he did not know where he stood today, they who had seemed to misunderstand and somehow conflict with one another during their last appointment. It was Veiere's hope that they could come to agree today for the sake of not only their minds and comforts but so too the rest of the Jedi that were to be in attendance.

[member="Taeli Raaf"] and [member="Aela Talith"] stood within the great hall, the trio from Deneba brought to its entrance and then left to step in of their own accord. Veiere took the lead, making it a priority to bow in respect and greeting of the two Jedi Masters of the Galactic Alliance before leading Kahne and Romi further into the hall on approach. "Greetings, Masters..." He gave pause not knowing their names yet offering a humbled and warm smile in its stead; "We are grateful of your receiving us. This is Master Kahne Port.." He gestured to his left and then to his right announcing his former apprentice and fellow Councilor, "And Master Romi Jade. I am Veiere Arenais, of the Deneba Enclave; it's a pleasure to meet you both".

Rosa's head tilted, forehead creasing in apparent confusion as she studied the backs of the people in front of her. Was that...? Eyes widened. She resisted the urge to shout out to [member="Thurion Heavenshield"], it had been a long time since either of them had crossed paths. The sight of him brought back memories of the Silent Conclave, when he and his master had vetoed the Jedi Order and joined there little group. She didn't want to intrude, not so much that she would shout across the grounds to them.

She opted for a more subtle approach, reaching out to the man she'd known as a boy in the force, her greeting full of pride and love. Perhaps after this, they could grab a chance to trade tales.

Eyes lifted from his back to the guardians that marked the entrance, making it seem almost like a fortress for a moment. This saddened her, for the temple had always been an open place, somewhere where anyone could feel welcome and yet now? Now it seemed like the doors were open, but only if such entrance was permitted by those that guarded it. Though, as she thought about it, both Coruscant and the Jedi Order had suffered so many betrayals that it was understandable that they would watch their doors a little closer. It didn't make the sight any less depressing.

She inclined her head to them as she passed and tk a deep breath, once inside drawing upon the calm of the temple and making it her own and exhaling her own apprehension. Today would, if not successful, at the very least it would be interesting. She entered the Hall, eyes flicking around at the banners that lined the walls, a slight smile coming to her lips at the little show, remembering very clearly one of the reasons she had deigned to steer clear of orders. She offered a bow of respect to both [member="Aela Talith"] and [member="Taeli Raaf"]. "Master Talith, Master Raaf it's a pleasure to meet you." Aela was not the first Talith Rosa had met, in fact she was rather fond of her younger sister Kaili.

Eyes swiveled round to [member="Veiere Arenais"] and the pair with him, she inclined her head to them in turn. She tried to recall the names from the brief she'd been given with the invite and failed to recall them. "Representatives of the Jedi Order? Am i correct?"

Valae’s eyes focused on the ground for a moment, but turned back up when she felt Thurion’s palm wrap her own. Her master always had the words of reassurance that she needed, and the father-like presence that gave her comfort. It pained her to see him struggling along with a cane, and so she made her shoulders steady for him to lean on as they continued towards the temple.

“Anything for you, old man.” She said in jest, helping him up the steps.

And his whispered words found Valae, her eyes instantly turned a bit misty. She mustered a smile up at her Master, and nodded. Just as they reached the door, Valae turned her chestnut orbs over her shoulder to find her apprentice. Sure enough, she spotted the young woman making her approach. This was a rare opportunity for a padawan, but it would be a valuable learning experience. Not only was Stephanie learning the ways of the force, but also serving as assistant to the Grandmaster. And Valae was grateful for the help.

Moving into the hall, Valae spotted a number of notable Jedi. She recognized [member="Veiere Arenais"] of the Jedi Order, she understood that he had been on his way to Ossus when the First Order had launched their attack. It was unfortunate timing, for sure. As a result, the two had not had the chance to speak, but she was sure that they would become acquainted today. Her gaze also found [member="Rosa Gunn"], though the two had not spoken, Valae knew that she was with the Boolon Foundation. They did good work.

The representatives of the Galactic Alliance were there to greet their guests, and Valae stood back as others made their introductions. And when there was an opportunity to move forward, she cleared her throat. Throwing on a smile, she would offer a bow.

“Thank you very much for having us, Masters.” Straightening up, she gestured to her companions. “I am Valae Kitra of the Silver Jedi, with me today I have Master Thurion Heavenshield,” A man that truly did not need much of an introduction. “And my apprentice, Stephanie Swail.”

Her eyes flickered to her surroundings.

“We are glad to be here today.”

"Are you trying to be funny?" She teased him as she stood there with her eyes closed but she knew where he was as he moved towards her. "Because you're late to our arranged meeting and thus making us late to the temple. A Jedi Master should at least know the time, don't you think?" She turned her head and opened her eyes to look at her nephew.

She was old wasn't she? Look at how old her nephew was! She still felt good, moved good and had her wits about her. She felt the growing presence on Coruscant as the force bonds grew so did the flow of the force. She smiled it always felt good to be among like minded and feel the presence of the force.

"We need to go now" She did not really wait for answers they could be given while they walked, "We will have to take speeder, do you mind driving there?" She headed for the upper landing pad. "nothing that says anything about the Embassy, unmarked, and simple..." She was nearing the doors in, then through the halls up the stairs back outside to see a few parked speeders, "Ahh see just what we need."

Noting Valae's looking over her shoulder, Thurion kept his gaze focused on the steps he had to ascend with the help of his apprentice. "Greener than the hills of Tython, that one," he spoke on the subject of Stephanie Swail, only to meet Val's gaze with a smile. "But she'll be alright. She's got you looking out for her." He'd heard of the young padawan's bravery at Ossus, and despite her rather bumbling character he knew her to be utterly loyal to the Light. That was enough for him.

As the climb neared its end, he was suddenly struck with a sense of familiarity; not of the temple grounds, for they had been rebuilt and reworked since the days of his childhood, but rather one of the attendees of this gathering. Looking around for a bit, his blue eyes found those of someone he had not seen in a very long time. "It can't be," he mumbled to himself as his arm released Valae from its grasp. "Auntie Rosa..." As their eyes met he smiled and inclined his head, knowing she'd recognised him too. There would be time to catch up later.

When Val bowed and introduced their delegation, Thurion struggled to bow properly as he supported himself on his cane, trying not to put too much weight on his left leg. The best he could manage was a flimsy bow at best, as he had to straighten up again to avoid losing his balance. "I am honoured to be part of this delegation and this gathering. I have not walked these hallowed grounds since I was a boy. It holds... a very special place in my heart."

Eri'anya stared at her reflection, gripping the sink before her until the blood drained from her fingers. The slender digits were still bruised, the echoing soreness of her most recent training session keeping her focused as she looked herself over. The Jedi Knight had changed quite a bit in a relatively short time, and even a passing glance gave her pause as she identified the evidence of a rough series of months.

She had no call to complain, however, countless others would never have a bad day again.

The woman before her looked back through eyes she did not recognize. They were tinged red at the edges, the flesh around and below them swollen and dark from a lack of proper sleep. A Jedi could keep themself going for a long time with the force at their side. They could, if necessary, go days or weeks without having to sleep, but it was a cheap substitute for real rest. Eri'anya struggled to recall another time when she had ever felt this genuinely exhausted, practised hands getting to work applying a faint concealer to those bruise-like shadows as she came up empty.

How was she supposed to sleep when at any moment the call to action might come?

Once she was satisfied with the symmetry, Eri'anya reached up to run a loose lock of hair through her fingers, pulling it back over her ear and out of her face. The purple coloring she used to maintain had faded almost entirely, her own unremarkable brown taking over as only trace amounts of bright color remained. She had used to spend so much time coloring and styling her hair, but now it fell in uneven, lengthy tresses over her back and shoulders. She ran a a borrowed brush through the mess, unconcerned about the perodic tugging at her scalp.

She had no time for beauty in a fight, not when a helmet was so much more useful.

Stepping away from the cold basin, Eri'anya began the slow process of donning her Jedi robes. They made for a light, breathable, comfortable outfit, but they also were meant to exemplify a certain aesthetic. An Ideal. You saw these robes and you knew you were safe. The Jedi were here to keep the darkness away. She absently rubbed a hand over her wrist, feeling vulnerable and naked without her vambraces and the rest of her armor.

She could not afford to exist merely as a guardian of the peace anymore, not when an aching galaxy called for armed and armored champions to fight off the darkness.

Finally she stood, dressed and ready in the warm tans and browns of a Jedi. A much more familiar woman stared back at her from over the sink. Her hair was tied back, tresses and braids kept under control in a high ponytail that trailed down past the small of her back. All traces of her nightmares and fatigue had been covered up as well, hiding away any perceived weakness behind her stance today, such as it was.

She hardly had to make a compelling argument, merely point out the window and you could find a scar left by the dark side.

With a final, resigned sigh, she clipped each of her lightsabers into place on her belt. While she was hardly expecting things to come to blows, it seemed appropriate to come bearing all the trappings of the Jedi. She was also just more comfortable in general when they were on her person. They were a symbol, a shield, a weapon, and a reminder. They were the one universal truth about Jedi, no matter how widely their ideals diverged across the galaxy.

It would be interesting to see just how many came today, and just what things they all could agree upon.

Pulling a heavy Jedi cloak over her small form, Eri'anya wasted no more time before disembarking from the Nubian class ship into the open air. She pulled the dark material tight around her petite frame, the wind buffeting the garment in the air behind her as she came to a stop by her former Grandmaster's right shoulder.

Even in this heavy wind, or maybe because of it, the Knight's sharp senses were graced with that soothing lavender once again, a scent she had learned to associate with lovely beaches and afternoon tea.

Following the master's searching gaze, Eri'anya identified at least one ship belonging to the Silver Jedi Order. Her order, she supposed, though it had been some time since she had walked those halls on Voss and taken in that aura of supporting calm that she so missed on days like this. She thought of Master Kitra, Charity Luckless, Kaiza Pawaro, and so many others, and recalled how important they had all been to her at some time or another.

Standing here, taking in the tall spires and curving forms of this grand edifice, she suddenly longed for the comforting greenery that was her home for a time.

"Still think we should've stayed back in Izrul, Arisa. Least there we did some good."

She gently leaned her body to the left, her shoulder bumping the senior Jedi on the arm as if to get her attention. It had been a while since she had bothered to address her as Master Yune, the Knight almost feeling like her equal most days.

"This is a waste of time. What're we gonna say? 'The dark side needs to be fought'?"

An annoyed breath passed through her teeth, the last of her irritation leaving her before she got her manners in order. While this might all be a glorified walk around at the end of the day, Eri'anya had no intention of ruining it herself.

It could work, after all. It wouldn't... but it could.
