The rattling of the gunships when they entered the atmosphere was enough for most men who weren't trained professionals to wonder if they weren't just going to plummet to their deaths, the Gluttoneria Troopers weren't untrained men or women though, they were hardened veterans who've served the Lord of Hunger from the days when he was still known under other names, when he was still human to begin with. Each following generation of these soldiers followed the strict examples of the former, never asking questions, never doubting the reasoning of their superiors, simply going into every fray they were sent to with the sole objective of utter, unabaited victory.
"Standard drop procedure until we link up with the droids! They'll be able to take the brunt of the enemy fire, and save us a lot of casualties on the way in!"

"The Urban Cohort might very well be able to secure us a good position," The Sergeant Majors aboard the vessel in which Tibera Jessen Tibera Jessen had hitched a ride. "I believe you're supposed to sync with Captain Dieter Kovasch Dieter Kovasch of the TIC expeditionary force, no?"

The other Glutoneria troopers who didn't have the insignia to denote their rank, making it clear that they were standard privates, turned their head for a moment towards the hitchhiker, each letting out a simple chuckle, before the Sergeant Major motioned with their hand that they didn't have the time to be trying to tease a colleague from the regular forces. "We'll be touching down, Follow our lead when we push to the Quorum, you will meet the captain there."

With a heavy, rocking screech, the HAAT gunship smashed onto the ground and bounced a bit, practically rocking all its occupants from left to right. Almost instantaneously, the side sliding doors opened up and allowed the troopers to disembark in unitary fashion, all of them quickly reaching for their rifles and moving into position as they synced up with the other gunships landing in order to drop their cargo. The entire platoon was relatively small, with about a hundred troopers in total managing to disembark their vessels and forming up near a tall, seemingly musculare figure wearing a black and gold armor with a muted purple and electrum cape draped over it.

"The Urban Enforcement Cohort's landing position is closer to the quorum, they are currently engaging Local Security forces at the east entrance," the strange figure's voice carried across the air, they seemed to be conversing with the sergeant major's of each individual squad, each utilizing their HUD and wristmounted tablets to have a clear understanding of their position and the path towards their goal. "We'll swing round and attempt to assist the regular forces that are facing stiff opposition on the south entrance."

Turning his attention towards Tibera Jessen Tibera Jessen , the figure walked rather briskly towards the soldier before halting a few steps away from them. "Name and rank? If we need to sync up with Captain Dieter Kovasch Dieter Kovasch , I very well would need to know who we're bringing to them..."

CAPTAIN RONHAR TANE, TK-3301
OBJECTIVE II: SOVEREIGN SILENCER
SARDIS, LAKONIAN SYSTEM

"Drop zone's coming up fast, everyone get ready!"

The MIN Peace Keeper landed with a loud thud as Ronhar and his men exited the starship, blasters at the ready. Of course, resistance had been essentially nonexistent up until this point, as the members of the Lakonian Colonial Defense Forces found themselves bearing the full brunt of an Imperial Confederation invasion. Ronhar always found himself marveling at the sheer efficiency in which the Imperial invasion forces presented themselves, never missing even a moment to deal a crushing defeat to their foes. The planet would fall soon enough, just like all the others had folded under Imperial pressure. Well, all except Brosi, but that minor mistake would be rectified soon enough Ronhar was sure, especially since the forces of the Galactic Empire had been routed near Atrisia just so recently.

Still, if the Confederation was to keep up the momentum it had gained after defeating the Empire, certain measures would have to be taken to ensure the continued success of Confederation forces. This campaign on Sardis was a direct result of this, as the inhabitants of the planet had been getting just a bit too cozy with the idea of calling in outside factions to assist in their efforts to persist in rebellion against the Imperial Confederation. In fact, they were apparently going to have a vote about that topic or something to that effect, which was Ronhar's job to stop from happening in the first place.

Whether by persuasion or coercion, peaceable methods or violence, the end result would be the same: Sardis would not be calling on any allies to help them, and the planet and its people would bow to Imperial rule. To achieve this, Ronhar's goal was to capture as many of the so called "Lakonian Assemblymen" as possible, though if they died in the process, it wouldn't cause Ronhar to lose any sleep. An Imperial Remnant Fleet had executed a sudden hyperspace jump into the planet's atmosphere and started to deploy troops planetside before the local defense forces could react. This fleet, however, was little more than a quick holding force, and would be unable to engage in sustained combat should enemy reinforcements arrive. Ronhar's mission was very much a "smash and grab", and he didn't intend on being here longer than he had to.

As he and his team made their way down the streets of the planet, they came upon the Colonial Assembly, the main target of their mission. Several other squads from Salvage Team Six had already surrounded the building: they were just waiting on Reclaimer Squad to arrive. Now in place, their was nothing stopping all the squads of Salvage Team Six from beginning their assault. In near perfect unison, dozens of highly trained operatives began swarming the building, ready to impose their version of Imperial justice on anyone unlucky enough to get in their way...

The last few months had been rough for Pheonix Platoon. With the GADF fracturing into local PDFs as it had originally been, the more dedicated units stuck together, without a command structure to give them orders. The platoon that had once been famous for their assault during the invasion of Coruscant against the Dark Empire, was now reduced to mercenaries for hire.

That was, until the Wild Space Rebellion came calling. Ashley certainly didn't expect Gress D'ran Gress D'ran to cold call her in the middle of the night, but that's how crazy things were these days. It did feel nice to have her armor fixed up by Si Tech employees for the first time in months, as it was originally intended to be, but now the question all of her soldiers were having was a simple one.

What was the next mission?

It took a few months, having to play bodyguard to combat units, and patrol a jungle rock that most didn't even know was there, before the word finally came down.

Lakonia. One of the fringe outposts the WSR had, headquarters to a local spy network. The whole system was crawling with rebel supporters, and Ashley was sure that if it fell, they'd have another point in the web fall.

The platoon had been spread out, hiding away as she watched the imperials come down in force. Orders were simple. Do not engage until they're on top of you.

Ashley herself was situated right inside the compound. Without a word, she gave Boxer a hand signal to start the assault.

From behind the lines of the Imperials, three walkers poked out of the forest, and opened fire with blaster cannons aimed right at the imperial salvage team. Picking them off, one by one.

Simultaneously, an HE mortar smashed into the front lines of the imperials.

Ashley was no stranger to rebel tactics. The Alliance's shocktrooper doctrine was less stormtrooper and more rebel than people gave them credit for. The woman let out a yell, as the doors to the Colonial Assembly were kicked open, and Ashley opened fire with a high explosive grenade.

"Sir the Ravager is reporting a total loss of shielding" one of the communications officers informed Sularen. From his command chair, the Supreme Commander observed as his opponent made their move in response to his own, having their own capital ships concentrate their fire on one of his Star Destroyers with their ion weapons, successfully bringing down their shields. At the same time the enemy had pulled back the attacking B-Wings towards their fleet most likely in an attempt to lure the TIEs towards their Corvettes given their trajectory.

It was clear that Igala was relying on ion weaponry and support ships to whittle down the strength of Sularen's forces by directly attacking two of the tenants that formed the core of his military doctrine, that of extreme durability and starfighter supremacy. He had to admit his opponent was clever but still it wouldn't be enough to stop him from securing another victory for the Imperial Confederation here. "All TIEs disengage and return to the Fleet." Sularen ordered.

Just as instructed, the TIE Stürmers and TIE Jägers that had moved to confront and pursue the enemy B-Wings began to turn around before the Heavy Corvettes could inflict significant casualties upon them with the TIEs soon returning to Imperial lines. However it was at this moment that the enemy made their move.

As the TIEs returned to the Fleet, Sularen noticed two of the enemy frigates move out of position before they jumped into hyperspace. At first he thought the enemy fleet was retreating but with the other ships maintaining their position he soon realized what had transpired : the frigates had performed a micro jump. "Sir, we're detecting ships coming out of hyperspace right behind us!" a sensor officer said right as the two frigates emerged from hyperspace right behind the Supreme Commander's fleet and began firing at his flagship's engines.

"Status of our shields?" Sularen inquired. "We're holding at 71% shield integrity" the chief defense officer replied. "Good. Have all ships maintain their formations and deploy all TIE Devastators and TIE Strike Bombers from our Star Destroyers to deal with those Frigates." he ordered. "Have the Stürmers and Jägers move in and cover their attacks"

Another interesting move from his opponent this time aimed at baiting Sularen into breaking his fleet's formation to confront this new threat. Although unfortunately for the enemy commander this was a massive blunder, as now his frigates were isolated from his main fleet with no apparent starfighter support. With the Rebel frigates having less firepower then Sularen's Star Destroyers and Carriers, it was clear that their shields could hold against this attack leaving the Supreme Commander with the perfect opportunity to overwhelm the two frigates with constant attacks.

Before long, a large swarm of TIEs would descend on the Frigates as the Imperial Fleet maintained their positions with the TIE Stürmers and TIE Jägers moving in to draw in any fire from the frigate's anti-starfighter weaponry while the TIE Devastators and TIE Strike Bombers unleashed their deadly weapons hoping to overwhelm both frigates starting by launching concentrated attacks against their offensive armaments and engines.

Perhaps Sularen had given Igala too much credit as it would seem that this battle would be over soon enough if he kept blundering like this.

  • The INV Ravager loses it's shield from the concentrated attack from the Rebel Capital Ship's ion weapons
  • The TIE Stürmers and TIE Jägers after suffering minor losses abandon their pursuit of the B-Wings to return to the Imperial Fleet thus avoiding the Rebel Heavy Corvettes
  • In response to the Rebel Frigate's maneuver and attack on the INV Sularen's Revenge's engines, 5 Squadrons of TIE Devastators and TIE Strike Bombers each are launched to attack the pair of Frigates supported by the previously withdrawn TIE Stürmers and TIE Jägers
    • TIE Stürmers and TIE Jägers move in to draw most of the fire from the Frigates
    • TIE Devastators and TIE Strike begin to launch concentrated attacks on all offensive armaments and the engines of both Frigates
  • The Imperial XI-Class Star Destroyers continue their attack on the two Venator-Class Escort Ships
    • INV Imperious, INV Vindicator & INV Eternal Wrath target the Blazing Dawn
    • INV Ravager & INV Iron Sun target the Shining Dawn

Mid-flight toward the Jedi, Dieter felt something was off. He'd fought Force-users before, but without the Force himself, he never knew what trick they were about to pull. What he did see, however, was a lightsaber angled straight for his knee. So, he did what any good soldier would do: he dodged.

Unfortunately for him, he'd launched with full power from his rocket pack; there was no way to stop on a dime. He twisted his body just enough to avoid the blade's tip, but he slammed into the barrier instead, hard. The hit sent pain flaring through his frame, but he'd endured far worse. Bracing with his Atoan strength, he quickly planted a boot against the invisible wall and kicked off. Momentum flipped him backward through the air; he rolled, drew his rifle, and had it shouldered before he hit the ground a few meters away.

He opened with a rapid burst of blaster fire at the Jedi, then snapped his aim upward toward the ceiling. His thumb flicked a switch on the rifle's side.

"Kid?" He barked out with a short laugh. "I look older than you, Da?" Then he fired a concussion grenade straight into the ceiling above his opponent.

The hull of the Void's Hunger groaned as if in agony as it traveled through hyperspace, its frame creaking, but resilient. The creaking didn't stop as it exited hyperspace a couple of kilometers to The Dawn of Hope's starboard. It's black and grey paint helping to hide it amongst the blackness of space for only a moment until any nearby sensors picked it up. It was followed by numerous flashes. Another fleet had arrived, if you could call this group of mismatched relics a fleet.

The tactical droid that hung from the ceiling of the bridge jerked to life. <<ALERT! Galactic Republic Fleets detected. Separatist fleet detected. Combat has already initialized.>>

"Aye, sir. The droid speaks true, well, almost. It's a WSR fleet against three Lost-Imperial fleets." A pirate corrected the droid.

An empty cup flew from the other side of the ship, hitting the pirate square in the back of the head. "I done told ya, the 'Mpire o that Lost is gone. Idgit."

"That 'urt Gruek," the pirate said rubbing his head. "What do ya wanna do, Cap?" He finished, turning back to a large hair over looking the majority of the bridge.

A pair of boots, mismatched armor, a metallic mask, and a pint of grog sat there. Gulp, gulp, gulp. Captain Ravik Vane pulled the glass from his lips, wiping away the foam from his upper lip; he pulled down his mask to cover his face and stood up, tossing the cup to his side. He looked at the ancient tactical droid and spoke, "Connect me to the Separatist fleet, droid."

<<Aye. Aye. Captain.>> It spoke, using a voice that wasn't its own. Obviously, someone had modified it, but poorly.

<<"Wild Space Fleet, this is Captain Ravik Vane and the Void's Hunger. Do you need some assistance? For a reasonable price?">>

Lianna, Outer Rim Territories;
Lianna City, The Neyrix.
Tag: Diarch Rellik Diarch Rellik | The Lord of Hunger The Lord of Hunger | Karl Von Strauss Karl Von Strauss

It is 19:06 hours on Lianna. Dead in the night. At a standard twenty-two hour day, revolving around a star inhabiting a system of seven other planets, the world has found peace, but not the kind Jonyna Si Jonyna Si or her ilk would like. It's the type of thing that once associates more to dread rather than tranquillity. Long gone are the days of riots and insurrection happening in the streets less the jackboot of Stormtroopers (or worse) press their heel upon your traitorous neck.

Somewhere a bust, carrying upon it's ledge a statue of Emperor Kilran, casts a shadow across a town square out in Melford, and the remnants of his Empire of the Lost toil within a confederation filled with others. Elements within the Lost-Imperial junta have long been corrupt, and that is saying a lot, considering how the Eggman took power in the first place. Nevertheless this was his capital-- the place in which he envisioned the return of the Galactic Empire in his image-- and it is at peace.

Karl Von Strauss Karl Von Strauss was a man of his word, after all. It's quiet at this time of night. Too quiet.

Darth Ayra said:
"We will fulfil Velran Kilran's destiny..."

Adoration, the sounds of clapping, and cheers played in the din, as the Dark Lord of the Sith spoke. As Eirys Santhe Eirys Santhe 's interview drew to an end (before a small live audience captured somewhere else in Lianna City) Her averted her gaze from the broadcast to the artificial blue lights of the hologram. A chin raises, hands press down either side of the arm rests, and Her lowers herself down to kneel before their master as she speaks about their plot in the Outer Rim systems.

Darth Ayra said:
"The Empire's attack upon the galaxy was fortuitous, and advantageous. To have turned the Death Star upon Thandon would have expedited our work. But it is gone now, and I fear that our associates in the Core Worlds will be less than likely to do what we would like them to, my apprentice..."

The invasion of the Thandon nebulae (by confederation forces) had yielded not the favoured outcome of the conflict, and so they had adapted to the transient to destroy their enemies there. In the days leading up to the attack on Atrisia, a cartographer called Titus Morri had shared the Galactic Emperor's vision to reshape the galaxy, and erasure of the Sith Holy Worlds have been in their remit. Would such dreams die with the destruction of the third Death Star?

Darth Ayra said:
"Project Tion must get back on schedule. Patience must, once again, become our weapon, as we steer them back into conflict with the Sith..."

Politics, and espionage had been their weapons. From their craft they had created the necessary levers to pull, and so the Imperial Confederation had unified to attack Thandon because of them. The establishment of the Sith threat (to the Imperial remnants now unified within the Confederation) had been a mixture of truth and lies intermixed until one or the other could not be seen. It began with the Eggman's desires to takeover the Outer Rim systems and that had included Sith space. Indeed, they wished to fulfil Kilran's desires.

But what of the Project itself? The idea of restoring the ideas and tenants of Imperialism, less they were destroyed by rebellion or Sith invasion, were still alluring to most within the Imperial remnants inhabiting the Confederation, Her felt, but now that Kilran's successor (in the form of Liraeth Deschart) now lingered somewhere in a holding cell under the authority of the Exarch himself brought doubt and disrepute into their plot. After all, it was by the Empress' authority that such work had been initiated in the first place, and now it was all up in the air regarding the fate of her policies, and indeed, her supporters after Strauss had enacted his powers to remove her from the position of Empress.

Her would have to work out a way to turn this around in order to continue Project Tion, for if it were to continue, then it's objectives and perimeters remained intact. The Battle of Brosi ought to be the beginning, and not the end, of the Imperial Confederation's goals to erase the Sith presence near their homespace, and as Ayra spoke, Her felt that Strauss was the key for it's continuation.

Darth Ayra said:
"The D.S.D.T would have found Kakus by now. It has served our purpose. He is not in Imperial space... We must look elsewhere..."

The Nomad. Mendacium. Kakus.

Like us he has worn many identities, and in his wake, a Diarchy spans across the Outer Rim. Indeed, the establishment of the Direct Surveillance of Domestic Threats had hidden ulterior motives behind the given reasons for it's creation in the first place. Back then, when the Empire of the Lost reigned, Director Drey had been convincing to the brass. She had created the idea that there were those who survived Kilran's coup d'etat within the new regime, who may in turn plot against him (as he had against Aculia Voland), and that they would need the technology to find them before they could act.

That was all that it had taken for the surveillance apparatus of his new Empire to take shape, so that such dissidents could be dealt with accordingly. But they had used the program for other things as well. The type of things that the program was meant to stop. Not help as it had done. It was a stroke of genius. To be in control of the very mechanism designed to find threats (both domestic and external to the Kilran administration) while using it to obfuscate agents of the Tsis'Kaar (to join the Fifth Wing) had been advantageous. But they had not found him with it. Two years of research, and invasive surveillance techniques, had shown no signs of the man that they had been looking for.

Where would they look now?

Darth Ayra said:
"Nargath and Zanareth Umbrella Corporation will make their inquiries into our activities after Atrisia, I foresee. The Empire threatened their commercial and political interests with their attack. If they were to discover your links to our associates in the Core then I foresee them turning on us. It does not matter that we have helped them every step of the way since we made contact. They only care about themselves regardless of what you have been told..."

Darth Ayra said:
"You should meet with the Exarch, alone, as soon as you can. We must determine whether or not his decision to remove Deschart from power is advantageous. Whatever the outcome of the conversation we must learn more about what he knows about my surveillance programme, and arrange for it to be shut down for good. The I.C.D will be useful in this endeavour..."

The invasive influence, and business practises of the Nargath and Zanareth Umbrella Corporation, has long been fostered and guided by master and apprentice ever since the company had contacted Director Drey to help them establish Deinon station. To have the backing, support and access of a galactic conglomerate brought advantages that could be afforded to them otherwise despite their respective positions amid the Imperial remnants banded on New Alderaan, and the regime who had conquered Coruscant. They have been useful, but everything has their limit.

There was always the inevitability behind such links and associations to such people that would bring them all to the lines which blurred between catastrophe, and ruination. They were the Rule of Two, and the The Lord of Hunger The Lord of Hunger is a Sith Lord. A day would come where they would attack such a person, and in their cunning foresight, they had foreseen that such a man would make a move against them as well. It was the nature of the dark side for this type of conflict to arise, as Bane taught them.

Was it in their best interests to make a move against him now?

Has his company, and connections, made him a threat (rather than useful) to their plan?

In the din a broadcast continued to play the fall of Lakonia. A distant battle being waged to conquer the old systems of the Empire of the Lost. Ayra's hologram fizzled, and as she fell into a quiet stare, Her lifted her gaze up to her and a calculative look formed over the apprentices face.

"I know what to do..."

Tibera looked over to the Sergeant Major, arching a brow under her helmet. No idea what was funny, best not to ask. She wasn't being paid to rub elbows with the rank and file. Still, best to keep on the man's good side.

"Orders came from Sularen to push with you boys, so who knows what he's planning. Linking up with Dieter Kovasch Dieter Kovasch does sound like a better idea though..."

Her orders were simple, almost annoyingly so. Take the N&Z transport down to the surface, kill everyone in the way, and secure the Quorum. Sounded great on paper, but no job she ever worked with Marlon on was ever cut and dry. He only pulled her out when things were nasty, and Tibera hated getting nasty...

Soon enough, the transport landed on the ground, ships like this always landed rough. After her stomach hit her in the throat, she was able to collect her bearings. For this mission she was going in light, just carrying her handcannon of a blaster and some explosives. Fun toys, but nothing that would weigh her down in the street-to-street fighting.

Most of the N&Z soldiers were pretty well worn, at least by the look of them. Low ranked, but they'd probably seen quite a few battles like this. Once the big man himself made an appearance, it became clear why no one wanted any problems. You dont dress in gaudy golden armor in a combat zone without being a serious nut! No telling what this guy could do, and no way she was going to try and find out.

His voice though, it carried some kind of weight to it. She had heard men like that, men who would gut a man soon as look at him, The Hungering Man had thay quality to him. He was cold, methodical, and intelligent, all the things one needed to be to rise the ranks. He might have been military, the electrum plating said as much, but there was something more. He was the kind of scary that made even hardened Mercs give pause.

"Tibera Jessen, Sergeant," She said, pulling off a respectful imperial salute for the first time in ages. "Volunteering to take point on this operation. I'm looking for the fastest route into the Quorum. Your boys seem to be that and then some."

Cripes, playing kiss-up to another commander, there has to be better work in the galaxy. Either way, she was here now, and that meant taking orders from the golden boy...

She huffed before checking out her blaster, then her armored suit. All the seals were holding well, and all the systems looked green, that was good at least. Imperial engineers seemed to have taken good care of everything. Good for something at least, besides talking her ear off about servomotors.

Moving with a formation like this again was a bit invigorating at least! She hadn't served with an empire like this in a while, and that meant plenty of high credit wine if she made it out alright. Just had to fight smart, and shoot straight.

"Tibera Jessen, Sergeant," She said, pulling off a respectful imperial salute for the first time in ages. "Volunteering to take point on this operation. I'm looking for the fastest route into the Quorum. Your boys seem to be that and then some."

The Lord of Hunger's eyes flashed for a moment, a vibrant otherworldly golden and crimson surrounding an inhumanly slit pupil, for a brief instant they seemed to completely untangle the entirety of Tibera Jessen Tibera Jessen , stripping her bare to her very core. Yet nothing happened, nothing but a calm nod and a somewhat hollow, raspy sounding chuckle. "Very well sergeant. With the Arbalesks turning their attention elsewhere, you and the troopers will be facing stiff resistance if you're goal is to reach the quorum. As I am to hold the landing ground for further reinforcements, the troopers will be under the command of Lieutenant Wilshaf, he'll be leading squad Three personally, you'll join up as you have done so already with squad two."

With that, the Lord of Hunger practically dismissed the sergeant and moved towards the Trooper he had just mentioned as having command over the squads brought to the fray by the abomination within the force. A few words were exchanged, with the hardened trooper saluting, turning for a mere moment towards Tibera and nodding calmly. In the meantime, squad two had already checked their gear and were ready to move on to achieve their objectives.

"Keep a tight formation men, these security boys and gals may just be playing soldier, but they've been doing a good job at it," the sergeant major of squad two roared through his helmet's voice box, motioning the others to ready themselves. Squad two would be utilizing the two Walkers which had been dropped with the squads and would act as the breachers, while squad one, three and four would be handling rapid deployment tasks, squads five through eight were held back to maintain a security perimeter on the landing zone.

With the walkers of Squad two finally moving on, the Sergeant major motioned everyone in his squad, including the odd one out in the form of Tibera Jessen Tibera Jessen to follow suit, onwards to the south entrance, which according to the intel was only two clicks away, but was a troublesome position due to lots of outbuildings housing nests of those security boys and gals with proper weaponry. This made reaching the south entrance just as difficult as effectively winning at sabac without cheating.

From the landing zone, those outbuildings were already visible, several small duracrete constructions with duralium lined roofs and with such a uniformity that it looked as if a child had been playing with their blocks, but while the image might have been funny, the truth was less so, since because of the uniformity of the buildings, it was muchharder to vocally point out any nest of resistance, to give proper coordinations without actual landmarks to be based on was a drag after all.

As the squads drew closer, all hell quickly broke loose, when one of the walkers was immediately crippled by incoming rocket fire taking out the front legs, turning the mobile assault unit into an artillery piece. from the outbuildings blasterfire was immediately coming towards the squads, whistling like loosened arrows towards the troopers. Reaching Dieter Kovasch Dieter Kovasch might've been much harder said than done...

Moments of Glory.

That's what his old fire chief used to call it. Those moments where time seemed to slow around you. For a firefighter, it was when life tested you. When things went sideways, and a rescue operator had to make the tough calls. Usually, it was meant to be a metaphorical phrase. For a jedi, it often wasn't.

First came the blaster bolts, which any jedi knight worth their saber would deal with the same way he did. His barrier dropped, and his saber flew through the air like a conductor's wand, deflecting the bolts one by one. That was the easy part.

Then he watched as the armored soldier raised his rifle to the cieling, and fired what would be a concussion grenade. A normal jedi would duck for cover, but there was none to be found. So instead, he had to make it.

He raised his hand to the sky in a moment that would raise eyebrow to anyone else, and he did the first thing to come to mind. A new barrier formed, a bubble around the grenade mid-air. It still went off, sure, it was contained. He felt the strain of it on his bubble, causing him to flinch in pain.

His eyes focused on the threat in front of him, but still his blade was raised in defense. He wasn't trying to kill anyone today, but he was a rebel now.

He couldn't be afraid to do so anymore.

CAPTAIN RONHAR TANE, TK-3301
OBJECTIVE II: SOVEREIGN SILENCER
SARDIS, LAKONIAN SYSTEM

After Ronhar's unfortunate Rhydonium accident, the injuries his body sustained required extensive cybernetic modification to keep him alive, a lengthy and expensive process. Ronhar had received a full suite of these upgrades, including a new pair of cybernetic arms, a new pair of cybernetic legs and numerous body implants. Yet, as important as these cybernetics were, their was one cybernetic in particular that was of particular importance to Ronhar: his neural implants. These implants gave Ronhar exceptional reflexes and reaction time, allowing him to go toe to toe with Jedi, Sith and War Droids, though Ronhar was still unsure why he had received one since from what he knew, it wasn't medically necessary to the install the device to keep him breathing.

Still, he was quite grateful that the doctors of the Mahporeem Imperial Remnant had decided to give him one, for it had saved his life on more than a number of different occasions. Occasions like right now, when Ronhar blasted his way through the doors of the Colonial Assembly, only to find a grenade hurtling right toward his face.

With near inhuman reflexes, Ronhar snatched the grenade out of the air and flung right back at whoever had thrown it, though he didn't really have any time to aim at his target even with the superior speed his enhanced body offered him. It was rather unlikely that the redirected grenade would hit anything, let alone whoever had thrown it at him. Still, he had at least gotten it away from, him and his men, and Reclaimer Squad continued their advance into the building.

Troopers armed with Mk III "Viper" Autoblasters and MGV-300s began firing with reckless abandon, attempting to suppress the defenders as the members of Salvage Team Six engaged in Fire and Movement tactics. Their aim wasn't so much to necessarily kill the defenders, though they certainly wouldn't mind if they managed to take some of them out, but to get around so that they could go deeper into the building as they looked for Assemblymen to capture and detain.

Next, came the deluge of Rhydonium Grenades, flung directly at those firing on Salvage Team Six. As each grenade exploded into a toxic cloud of Rhydonium gas, anyone who had survived the initial explosion of the device would soon wish they hadn't as they breathed in the toxic fumes left behind. Ronhar hoped that this would be enough to keep the defenders off his trail.

Outside, the other elements of Salvage Team Six found themselves under Walker and mortar fire, and several commandos went down from the ambush as the others scrambled to lie down and take cover. Bereft of the armaments needed to engage such vehicles, all the commandos could do was fling their own Rhydonium Grenades at the enemy, though the fact that the walkers were staying hidden in the forest surrounding the building made this something of a futile effort.

Luckily, Salvage Team Six had some air support on their side. The MIN Peace Keeper, which had picked up a fresh batch of Storm Commandos, dropped off its compliment at the edge of the forest before going airborne again, hunting for the Walkers that were engaging Imperial forces. The Storm Commandos, armed with their NA-20 Defoliant Projectors, began indiscriminately burning the forest, setting everything they could see on fire. If the Walkers wanted to continue using the forest to hide, they wouldn't be able to for much longer.

Still, Salvage Team Six was definitely on the clock, since they had been discovered and engaged, and the longer it took them to complete their mission, the more causalities they would begin to suffer as a result...

Objective 1
The order came through. Fall back. As much as she admired the supreme commander, Squesha always felt that he was a little old fashioned. Showing off like this was a classic example of old style imperial tactics, and it was notorious for going catastrophically wrong. Nevertheless she complied.

"All ships, pull back. Fighters are to make a fighting retreat. Do not let yourselves get exposed."

Squesha examined the enemies forces. Most of them seemed to be going after Sularens fleet. That made sense, he was the biggest threat after all. But something was missing. Their forces seemed just a bit too small, like they were hiding something. She thought back to her engagements with the Sith Empire, and remembered how fond of cloaking they were. Yes this gambit had all the hallmarks of a cloaked attack, from the strong diversion from the biggest ships to the frigates distracting with a microjump.

"Increase power to shields and scanners. I suspect they have cloaked ships. Do not be caught off guard."

She glanced at the tactical displays. Some of Sularen's star destroyers were taking a beating.

"The Dewback and two TIE Supremacy squadrons are needed to support the Ravager. Evryone else maintain position and fire on their frigates. 2 TIE Supremacy squadrons and one TE pixie squadron are to destroy those B wings. Without their fighters rebel doctrine will be sure to fall apart."

Zoro watched as the Imperials swarmed the two frigates with TIEs. Plans within plans, that was always how Zoro's mind worked. A chess board. Those frigates were designed to withstand sustained turbolaser fire, and he knew that.

However, the sudden shift in the battlefield had left an opening. As he watched the shields of the Shining Dawn slowly whittle down, flickering as it diverted power away from the engines to keep them up, he knew they needed to act fast before Sularen re-positioned.

"This is Adrmial Igla to the hanger. All Y-wings, to your stations! Target is the Ravager, we're going to take it down. Dawns, shift your ion fire to the Iron Sun. Same with you gunners. Dawns, start picket firing the Ravager with Hammer fire."

<Sir, this is Ye Ole Pub! We're holding fast, but they're everywhere! We're running out of missiles fast.>

"Copy Ye Ole, begin shift towards an egress, and prep for jump to the closest system. We'll meet you there."

<Aye sir! Firing another salvo from the main guns at the Sularen's Revenge engines, then booking it!>

The night sky was painted with red and green. The warthog turrets firing in defensive formation to keep the tie bombers at bay, after yet another round of torpedos impacted the shields. Zoro watched with a nail in his mouth. He chewed when he was thinking, an anxious habit.

He knew better than that, but he couldn't help it. The Y-wings, all 6 squadrons, 2 from the Lifeline, and 2 from each Venator, sprang to life, rushing towards the wounded Star Destroyer.

All the while, the B-wings took initiative. The incoming fighters from Squesha Squesha 's fleet were far outranged by the partol fighters, as such they fired ion sniper bolts towards the ties, aiming too disable before they pushed forward and opened fire with their long range turbolasers.

Zoro knew better than to throw away his shot. They just needed to keep up the pressure.
Actions:
Frigates are firing one last salvo into the Sularen's Revenge's rear, before turning to jump to hyperspace.
Zoro sends out his full compliment of Y-wings, aimed at the Ravager.
Both the Dawns aim their Hammer Turbolaser Batteries at the Ravager, as their shields slowly start to weaken.
Both the Dawns, and the Lifeline shift their ion batteries to the Iron Sky.
The B-wings shift their focus, using their superior range to outgun the incoming Ties.

Kessari had gathered up nearly every Freewind Corvette that The Sovereign Dawn had in a working state. She'd been requested to aid with the evacuation of dissidents, anti-Imperials, and just anyone else who thought the stepping was getting a bit too goose for them from Lakonia. And since Si-Tech was so kind as to make sure Kessari and her forces had the equipment to turn the space lanes red with slaver blood, it was only fair she'd show up when Jonyna called for aid.

Dropping out of hyperspace, Kessari surveyed the battlefield and spotted a small Imperial support fleet that was falling out of the battle line and was currently stripped of a fair amount of fighter support. This fleet, commanded by Admiral Squesha, would be her target. Not only that, but the cruiser holding formation with the lone Star Destroyer, Kessari decided, would be an excellent addition to her fleet.

"Captain Vanton, Commodor Kade, and Captain Draan." Kessari said into her fleet's comms, "Prep your marines and assault shuttles, we'll be taking that cruiser, stand by to launch them on my command."

As she finished her commands, the four wings of Freewinds formed up to start their initial passes on the small fleet, taking advantage of their massive speed, on the same level as a slow starfighter, ready to batter the ships until the moment came to start boarding actions.

"Ma'am, we've been hailed by an incoming pirate fleet!"

"Ma'am, the enemy fleet is refocusing on Zoro's contigent."

"Ma'am, Kessari's fleet is-"

"Quiet." The admiral spoke, cutting through the noise. She needed a moment to think. She'd been second to Jonyna for over a year now, and yet, she felt a pressure for the first time she hadn't. The pressure of command. True command, not relaying and reworking orders from a jedi. No, she was in command. Bolija Lya. Lieutenant Bolija Lya.

A moment. That's all she needed. A moment to breath.

"Return the pirate's call. Give them whatever credits they want, put it on Si Tech's tab. We have plenty of credits to throw around. Tell them to engage the auxiliary fleet harassing the defense fleet of Lakotia. If the enemy fleet doesn't want to engage us, leave them be. We don't want to force an engagement with the support ships if we don't have to. Let Kessari handle them. Hail her ship and tell them we'll support as needed."

A trio of orders all in a split second. That's all she needed. Bolija sighed, then turned to her datascreen. The evacuation was going well, and they'd have plenty of new recruits from this. Plenty of new men.

z5cR1Ol.png

"This is Captain Helelia Jala of Sword squadron, reporting in. Incoming TIEs, we'll need to smoke 'em. Prep long range ions boys."

The female captain had once been a hopeful for the GADF's Revenant Squadron, but then the GADF fell apart. Now, she was flying a B-wing. Some might consider that a demotion, but to her it was making a difference. She looked to her gunner below her in the cockpit, and gave them a thumbs up.

The Predator B-wing wasn't designed for dogfighting. Not really. It's ion cannons were sniper rifles repurposed into starship cannons. The Spot Cannons were capable of being fired around the planet, and hitting something on the opposite side if needed. Sure, it wouldn't take out a corvette at that distance like it was designed to, but it sure as hell could take out a TIE Pixie. The four squadrons of four each, had enough firepower to take out each of the TIEs individually, far outside of the range of the TIEs themselves.

That would be enough, sure. But the Rebellion wasn't taking prisoners. Not Tie pilots, at least.

That's where the Hammer Turbolaser came in.

First came the sound of the ion cannons. A tripled noise of energy firing off into the distance. The heavy hum of ion being flung into the void of space.

Then came the symphony of thuds. Every time the Hammer was fired, it rattled the ship slightly. When all 16 were fired? It was like a firework show in front of you. The punch to the chest you get from a sonic boom.

Helelia loved that feeling. Felt like power.

z5cR1Ol.png
"Ma'am, we've got sensors sweeps incoming. They Stealth systems won't hold for long."

They were already halfway there, and the enemy was getting wise to them. Jonyna let out a breath, and waited. The Force would guide them, surely.

"Ma'am, Kessari's fleet just came out of hyperspace! We've got our distraction!"

That got a smile on her face. She knew she could put faith in the Force. Now, she needed to wait to see how the enemy reacted. Even if they did see her ship, the Tenacity was already in firing range. She just needed to wait and see how they reacted. See how the chessboard changed.

Actions:

Dawnbreaker II pulls back to formation, hailing both the pirate fleet with orders to engage Calin Rakel Calin Rakel 's fleet, before hailing Kessari Vorn Kessari Vorn that the Dawnbreaker II is on standby to assist in the raid as needed.
B-wings open fire on the incoming fighters, using their superior range to engage with ion cannons.
Jonyna lies in wait, waiting for the enemy to attack or enegage Kessari's fleet first.

Against regular rebel forces, the Imperial tactics would be extremely effective. Area denial gas attacks, supressive fire with automatic weapons, and shock tactics.

Not against Phoenix though. While they didn't have the infinite resources of the Alliance anymore, they still had Si Tech engineering. The Lionheart armor's space-rated rebreather made the helmet a sealed system, as was the rest of the suit that made the rhydonium gas entirely ineffective as a gas attack, and the thermal imagining of the helm allowed them to simply see right through it.

Ashley watched as Boxer was hit six times by the enemy's Viper bolts pinged right off his armor. They had the technological advantage for now.

Still, they were fighting a static war, and it was only a matter of time before something went wrong. They couldn't stay here, and they couldn't push forward. They needed-

Of course, clearing the forest meant that the three walkers had no choice. They pushed forward, and opened fire. Blaster cannons designed to take down sith elite troopers aimed with precise targeting, as the three Bobcats pushed out of the woods, and into the flamethrowers. Not to disable them, the walkers were well capable of ignoring them, but rather prioritizing heavy weapons squads first.

Ashley saw that as the signal.

From deeper into the woods, a duo of snipers opened up, picking leadership first as their target.

Then, the counter attack began.

Ashley herself charged forward, right towards Ronhar Tane Ronhar Tane himself. Her shoulder mounted blaster rifle opened up, the particle rifle designed to damage beskar firing three rounds a second at Ronhar's chest, while Ashley pushed forward at an olympic speed, pulling her Roundhouse pistol off her hip, and opening fire.

CAPTAIN RONHAR TANE, TK-3301
OBJECTIVE II: SOVEREIGN SILENCER
SARDIS, LAKONIAN SYSTEM

As the enemy began their desperate counterattack against Ronhar and his forces, the men under his command decided to employ some tricks of their own.

Several of the commandos fired their Whipcord Launchers in rapid succession, with two main goals in mind. Firstly, they wanted to use the launchers as a way to rapidly close the distance between themselves and the enemy troopers. Secondly, they hoped that the Fibercord whips would prove sufficient to incapacitate the enemy soldiers by tying them up to the point where they could no longer move, after which the commandos would finish them up with close range blaster fire and their vibroswords. If ranged tactics were proving ineffective, than perhaps close quarters combat would help even the odds. After all, the commandos were quite agile and should be able to outmaneuver their more heavily armored opponents.

Of course, none of that was going to be easy, as Ronhar was about to find out firsthand. As Ronhar prepared to charge the enemy soldiers with the enhanced speed his cybernetic legs offered him, he noticed a burst of particle beam fire heading directly at him. Ronhar deftly dodge rolled out of the way as the particle beam passed harmlessly over his head, impacting the wall behind him and leaving a small crater in its wake.

He wasn't so lucky with the second particle beam that came at him.

It hit him square in the chest and knocked him backwards onto the floor. Ronhar could feel the breath leave his lungs as he struggled under the weight of the impact. Had it not been for his blast vest and cybernetic chest augmentations, he probably would have been dead. At the very least, he was going to have one hell of a nasty bruise and possibly several cracked ribs to deal with in the morning, assuming he survived long enough to feel the effects of this battle.

As Ronhar tried to sit up, he whipped out his BG-D 6 "Outlaw" and Prototype Sonic Pistol, firing a barrage of buckshot and sonic blasts at the one that had hit him with the particle beam. Another commando, noticing that Ronhar had been knocked onto his back, fired his Whipcord Launcher at the same person, hoping to slow them down enough to help Ronhar back onto his feet.

Outside of the building, the fire continued to burn unchecked as it consumed more and more of the forest. The Imperial Remnant's plan to flush the walkers out of cover had worked, albeit a bit too well. The Storm Commandos, now devoid of any cover themselves, were sitting Porgs for the enemy walkers, and they quickly fell in rapid succession from the walker's blaster cannons.

At the very least, they had done their job, for the Peace Keeper now had a clear line of sight against the walkers. It quickly maneuvered itself above two of them, raining down ion blaster and laser cannon fire on those two targets. The remaining commandos, fed up with having to deal with these mechanical menaces, fired their own Whipcord Launchers at the third walker, with the intention of boarding it and forcibly taking it over from the crew, despite the sniper fire they were receiving. The Peace Keeper tried its best to suppress the snipers, but despite the lack of forest cover, it was having a hard time doing so and engaging the walkers. For now, it focused its main efforts on destroying or disabling the two walkers it had attacked originally, despite the risk to the commandos now crawling over the outside of the third walker.

Whether or not their gamble paid off remained to be seen, but if it did, it could swing the tide of battle in favor of the Imperial Remnant...

"Shields are down to 65% integrity"

Sularen watched through the tactical hologram map displayed in front of him through the console attached to his command chair as the frigates that had executed a microjump behind his fleet, now began to turn around most likely to attempt yet another microjump to link up with the main fleet. While their little attack did inflict moderate damage to the Sularen's Revenge's shields it was not enough to take out their engines or force Sularen to break his fleet's formation. If anything it was a blunder that would cost the enemy two of their ships while leaving the rest of Sularen's main fleet largely unaffected.

"Activate gravity wells." the Supreme Commander ordered. "We won't give those Frigates a chance to escape." he added. Just as he instructed, the interdiction projector crews got to work as the six gravity well projectors of the INV Sularen's Revenge activated creating a gravity well large enough to prevent those frigates from jumping out of hyperspace unless they moved outside the gravity well, which would force them to create more distance from the battlefield and give the attacking TIEs more time to disable their engines and prevent their retreat entirely.

Setting the issue of those Frigates aside, the Supreme Commander then shifted his focus back to the main theatre of the battle.

"Enemy bombers inbound for the Ravager!"
"The Ravager is reporting significant damage to their hull integrity!"
"The Iron Sky's shields are down!"

All across the bridge, new reports came in as it seems that the rebel fleet was trying to put in some pressure against his own forces. Already two of Sularen's Star Destroyers had lost their shields and were now facing the full firepower of whatever the Rebels could throw at them. Nevertheless even with that, it still wouldn't be enough to destroy them in time before they themselves would be annihilated. Sularen knew what game they were playing and he wouldn't give them the luxury of falling for their little ploys.

"Have the Star Destroyers deploy their remaining TIEs to intercept the Y-Wings headed for the Ravager." Sularen ordered. "All Star Destroyers intensify forward firepower and take out those Venators." he further added. If he could just take out those Venators then it would be over for those Rebels. However it seemed that even in the face of the concentrated firepower of five Star Destroyers they were holding their ground which was starting to become a problem for the Supreme Commander.

Fortunately for him, Sularen still had plenty of tricks up his sleeve to keep countering every move his opponent made while simultaneously leaving them with less options to deal with his fleet. No matter how hard they tried, the outcome would remain the same in the form of a decisive victory for the Confederation.

  • To prevent the Frigates from escaping the INV Sularen's Revenge activates it's six interdiction field projectors.
  • The TIE Stürmers and TIE Jägers continue their relentless attack on the enemy Frigates, shifting their focus to exclusively target the Friagte's engines while employing the same method against defensive atttack
TIE Stürmers and TIE Jägers move in to draw most of the fire from the Frigates
    • TIE Devastators and TIE Strike begin to launch concentrated attacks on the engines of both Frigates
  • The Remaining three Imperial XI-Class Star Destroyers deploy their TIE Stürmers and TIE Jägers (6 Squadrons each) to intercept the incoming Y-Wings attacking the INV Ravager
  • The Imperial XI-Class Star Destroyers intensify their attack on the two Venator-Class Escort Ships
    • INV Imperious, INV Vindicator & INV Eternal Wrath target the Blazing Dawn
    • INV Ravager & INV Iron Sun target the Shining Dawn

Something felt wrong about getting looked at by the hooded man. Something about those eyes just made her skin crawl. It was as if he was staring a hole clean through her! Sooner she was out of his hair the better! That was one thing she knew for sure...

Even in all the battles she'd faced, and all the horrors therein, some things were still plain unsettling! Maybe she was putting too much into it, it wasnt like this guy was a Sith Lord. Even still, he was a creep, and that meant sticking to regular military for the time being. They were at least something normal around here!

With a quick Salute Tibera joined up with her element, taking the safety off of her disruptor. The gun made a high-pitched whine, lights flickering to life along the barrel of the gun. Hologram iron sights flicked to life, a bright orange contrasting with the black of her blaster.

She knew it was dangerous bringing a disruptor weapon to fight security forces, but hell with it. Might as well give them the full brunt than leave anything to chance.

Rather than fall in line with the rank-and-file, Tibera did her best to stay close to the walkers. They'd be the first to get hit if they made contact. Even militia recruits knew to hit the front and rear elements of a convoy, that way you boxed in the stragglers.

so long as these walkers could move, they would at least have a little leeway. Of course, no plan was safe on the battlefield, nothing was assured.

Jessen raised her wrist to use a specialized communication device she'd custom fitted into the armor. The Wind-Talker, a device that was a toolkit itself for communications. She was able to link with almost any friendly device with a bit of fancy inputs. Soon enough she'd isolated the frequency band the walkers were on.

It would be useful to be able to link comms with the walkers. She could also use them to listen out in case they saw something she didn't. Maybe it was a little invasive, or at least a product of paranoia, Tibera wasn't sure. What she was sure about though, was the fact she was flying blind. Working with troops that cared nothing for her, and she'd need every trick in the book to keep alive.

Now the sounds of blaster fire were getting closer. Defense trooper corpses littered the street, as did those of TIC-aligned fighters. Well, at least disruptors didn't leave this kind of mess!

"Sergeant Major! Seems like we're about to head right into the suck. I can take a squad and head down the street without the walkers. Better we take the fire than N&Z's expensive toys right?"

There was an eerie silence waiting for those orders. The kind of quiet no one wanted on an operation. The only people this quiet were the dead, and those about to join them...

The screams came through as usual, the concerto of war reaching a vivid climax, yet in all this chaos, the Glutoneria troopers seemed to remain oddly calm. They had seen war, they had seen atrocities...they had seen...worse. Still, in their expertise, the troopers knew that panicking was the bane of any formation, fear either had to be controlled or mitigated properly. Going through battle, was funny enough the perfect way to thus mitigate fear, for one had no time to be affraid when dealing with war.

Like a solid crew, well-trained and acting like an oiled machine, despite the initial setback with one of the walkers being crippled by unexpected rocket fire, Squad Three took up position alongside the halted walker, defending the position while a few of the troopers did some rudimentary repairs to the servos of the walker, attempting to make sure it could still move on, even with a leg less.

"You there!?" The sergeant Major yelled, noticing Tibera Jessen Tibera Jessen wielding a disruptor. "Get that nice weapon of yours and take position with the rest of Squad three, we need to bring some cover fire to make sure the others can fix up that crippled walker."

Motioning towards the buildings, the Sergeant Major made it clear that they wouldn't be holding back while covering, so using the disruptor wouldn't be an issue, in fact it would've been an ace in the hole.

"Yo, regular," One of the troopers laughed, as they readied their Haltbar rifle. "Those two buildings at the left... the rocket fire came from that place...wanna have the honors to make a first chink in the militia's armor?"
