CAPTAIN RONHAR TANE, TK-3301
OBJECTIVE II: SOVEREIGN SILENCER
SARDIS, LAKONIAN SYSTEM
Whipcord Launchers have been tried and true weapons for centuries, being employed by bounty hunters, assassins and commando units for generations. This was for good reason, as the weapons are quite versatile, able to incapacitate enemies from a distance while giving their users an extra mobility option.
Whipcord Launchers are lightweight, reliable, and most importantly, they simply
work against pretty much anything that they are fired at.
So Ronhar was both surprised and rather disturbed to see the various
Whipcord Launchers that his men fired at the enemy fall short and not tangle up their targets. It wasn't so much that his men had missed per say, rather, it seemed like the cord had been redirected away from their intended targets at the very last second, almost as if they had been influenced to miss.
Ronhar certainly knew better than to leave it up to bad fortune. No, something
had caused those cords not to connect, and Ronhar was pretty sure their was only one possible explanation.
The Force!
Ronhar silently cursed as he continued to crawl backwards , still firing his
BG-D 6 "Outlaw" and
Prototype Sonic Pistol at his would be assailant. She had been temporarily distracted by the
ARC Trooper's attack, though her blasted shoulder mounted weapon still continued to fire at Ronhar. Luckily, none of the blaster bolts coming his way made contact like her first attack did, and Ronhar was able to successfully crawl around the corner, away from the active fighting.
Still, something had to be done. Ronhar radio'd all the men under his command. It was time to deploy their secret weapon.
"This is Captain Ronhar Tane, TK-3301", Ronhar coughed out over comms. "On my mark, I need all units to activate their
Disruptor Arrays. Ready...and...MARK!"
With that, Ronhar activated the
HNDA-Mk I that was attached to his
blast vest, as did the rest of his men under his command. Within seconds, the room was filled with low-frequency neurosonic and EM pulses, emanating from all conceivable directions. Ronhar did't exactly understand how the device worked, because he couldn't really feel any of its effects. Being a non-force user, the
HNDA-Mk I could not work on Ronhar, though from what he had heard, the device was exceptionally uncomfortable to deal with for Force-Sensitives. However it worked, it should prove distracting enough to stop the enemy forces from trying to use their Force powers again. What was the enemies greatest strength would quickly become little more than a liability for them.
The men outside did the same thing, though they took things a step further. Some of the men had brought with them
HNDA-Mk III/T's, which were larger and more advanced than the
HNDA-Mk I's. They were much heavier and bulkier to carry than the
HNDA-Mk I was but had a much greater range, along with the ability to jam enemy electronics and communications. Though the rebel didn't seem to be using anything that required jamming, the increased range of the
HNDA-Mk III/T would hopefully allow the Imperial Remnant forces to affect them as well.
Speaking of the enemy forces, the walkers were now in full retreat, having popped smoke and disappeared into the raging inferno that had consumed just about the entirety of the forest. Despite the immense smoke and heat,
Salvage Team Six was still continuing to receive sniper, autoblaster and mortar fire, which seemed to be coming from the direction of the burning forest. The men of
Salvage Team Six couldn't really believe it: after all, there was a huge difference between remaining loyal to their mission and having suicidal tendencies. Anyone who stayed in that forest much longer would surely burn to death, regardless of how well their armor might protect against fire and flame. Far better to come out into the open and be blasted down than stay and suffer an agonizing, fiery death.
Regardless, it ultimately wouldn't matter, with the
Peace Keeper flying overhead. Free from having to engage the enemy walkers, the gunship could now devote its full attention to the enemy units still harassing the men of
Salvage Team Six. A proton torpedo barrage slammed into the general direction of the enemy forces as the
Peace Keeper began firing its laser cannons and repeating ion blasters toward the entrenched infantry, though the smoke from the forest fire was starting to make it difficult for the
Peace Keeper to continue providing fire support. Still, the volume of fire coming from the ship was sure to deal some serious damage.
With their aerial support working overtime, several
commandos made a break for the building, their
Disruptor Arrays firing on full blast and
Whipcord Launchers flying toward the nearest enemy soldier. The more of them that got into the building, the harder it would be for the enemy to press any sort of number's advantage against the forces of the Imperial Remnant. Unfortunately for Ronhar, he wasn't quite yet in a position to participate, and definitely needed some sort of medical attention.
"I need a medic!", Ronhar hollered as a pair of
Medic Troopers ran over to assist him. After stripping him of his armor, they quickly came to the conclusion that Ronhar was suffering from at least three broken ribs and some rather nasty blaster burns. A
Bacta Bandage would suffice for the burns, and a
Carapace Knitter would fix up those broken bones in minutes. The downside? It would be an extremely painful process to repair the damage to Ronhar's ribs.
"Just do it!", Ronhar said as he gritted his teeth in anticipation of what was to come.
The medic trooper injected the syringe into Ronhar's body as Ronhar screamed in pain. Yet his cries of anguish were seemingly drowned out by the sounds of blaster fire and fighting nearby to him...
