THE MOMENTUM OF VICTORY

THE CONFEDERATION STANDS VICTORIOUS!

After a hard-fought BATTLE FOR ATRISIA against the nefarious forces of the GALACTIC EMPIRE and the BLACK SUN, the combined forces of the GALACTIC ALLIANCE, DIARCHY, HIGH REPUBLIC and the IMPERIAL CONFEDERATION have emerged victorious with the Confederation’s fleets playing a key role in preventing Darth Solipsis’s Death Star III from reaching Atrisia itself.

As the galaxy celebrates this victory, the IMPERIAL RULING COUNCIL has decided to capitalize on the Confederation’s momentum turning its Imperial War Machine towards the acceleration of ongoing efforts to secure its borders starting with the annexation of the heavily populated LAKONIA SYSTEM which will provide the Confederation with a much needed boost in manpower and resources.

Thus the armies and fleets of the Imperial Confederation descend upon the sector, finding themselves soon confronted by the Colonial Defense Fleets of the Lakonia System in a heated battle for control over the entire star system, the outcome of which would decide the fate of Lakonia and expose the true operational capabilities of the Confederation’s Armed Forces.

Unbeknownst to the Confederation, an old enemy is slowly making a resurgence taking advantage of the chaos created by the ongoing invasion to plant the seeds of rebellion and defiance in order to undermine the Confederation in the long-term…

Located within a small asteroid wedged between the three stars of the Lakonia System is the military headquarters of Lakonia’s Colonial Defense Fleets. With the Imperial Confederation launching its campaign to annex the Lakonia System, the Colonial Fleet Headquarters has become one of its primary targets of the Imperial Navy and the assisting Starfighter Corps.

Protecting the fortified military installation is the bulk of the Lakonian Colonial Defense Fleet which if destroyed would leave the rest of the system vulnerable to further Imperial attacks. It is imperative that no Lakonian Ships are allowed to escape the grasp of the Imperial Fleet as the success of this operation may determine the difference between a successful campaign and an unsuccessful campaign.

On Sardis, the 10th world in the Lakonian System, the members of the Colonial Assembly gather in an emergency session at the Quorum to determine how Lakonia will respond to the sudden Imperial invasion. However, unwilling to allow the Lakonians to weigh their options and potentially bring in the Black Sun or the Sith into the conflict, the Imperial Confederation has deployed their Special Forces and Force Corps to Sardis in a decapitation strike.

Assisted by a diversionary strike by the Imperator Corps elsewhere on the planet, Imperial elite units converge on the Quorum and engage the security forces responsible for protecting the building. With the Lakonian assemblymen trying to flee the building to evade capture to organize resistance against the Confederation elsewhere, the Imperials must move swiftly and capture their key leaders in order to cripple their government and prematurely put an end to any effort at future resistance.

For far too long, the galaxy had looked down upon the Imperial Confederation. What had been first envisioned as the future of Imperialism had been quickly overshadowed by the resurgence of Darth Solipsis and his bastardized Imperial Regime known as the Galactic Empire as they cut a path of destruction through the Core Worlds. However this had changed at Atrisia, where the fleets of the Confederation clashed with their rogue Imperial counterparts over the Jedi Stronghold emerging triumphant over their fleets and playing a key role in the overall defeat of the Galactic Empire at Atrisia.

Now that weakness that the galaxy had long associated with the Confederation was gone. But for Sularen and the Ruling Council it wasn't enough, while the victory at Atrisia would be enough to erase the idea that the Confederation was weak it wouldn't be enough to prove that the Confederation was the right path forward for Imperialism as Solipsis's Galactic Empire remained and the Galactic Alliance grew weaker having suffered heavy losses during the battle. As such another demonstration was needed, one that would cement the Confederation's place on the galaxy and secure it's future as a reputable galactic power.

Thus, the Confederation's sights had turned on Lakonia. A world home to over 20 billion sentients, governed by a democratic government and relatively unknown to the wider galaxy. A former planet of the Empire of the Lost, the annexation of Lakonia would only reinforce the Confederation's image as a emerging galactic power and hopefully convince more Imperials that they were far more legitimate then Solipsis and his cronies in Coruscant.

As such, it wouldn't be long before the Fleets of the Imperial Confederation would start dropping out of hyperspace right outside the perimeter of the Naval headquarters of Lakonia's Colonial Defense Forces ready to carry out a decisive battle that would cripple the System's defenses and leave it's thirteen inhabited planets vulnerable to the armies of the Confederation. Once all ships of the Imperial Fleet had dropped out of hyperspace and placed themselves in formation, a single message was broadcasted to the Naval headquarters.

"This is Supreme Commander Marlon Sularen of the Imperial Confederation to the Colonial Defense Fleet of Lakonia. By the decree of the Imperial Ruling Council, the Lakonia System has been annexed by the Confederation. All warships aligned with the local Colonial Defense Forces are to stand-down effective immediately in order to ensure a smooth transition of power or face the full wrath of the Imperial Navy."

OBJECTIVE I
FLEET COMPOSITION:
D A W N O F H O P E
The Lakonia system had long been a hub of various factions. Imperials, Republics, Criminals, and...

Rebels.

The Wild Space Rebellion had gone quiet in the last few months. Spread out across the southern part of the galactic helix, Jonyna had kept it so on purpose. The Empires were fighting amongst themselves, no reason to distract them while they drained their own resources. She wanted them throwing everything at each other while they waited for the moment to strike. The moment to attack. The moment they would exhaust themselves of resources and manpower.

The attack by the Galactic Empire on Atrisia was a supposed glorious victory by the Imperial Confederation. To her, it was the end of a story she long lived. The Death of the Alliance. She could see the cracks forming. The senate had fractured, the NJO spread to the stars, the GADF left with it's benefactors leaving in droves.

She was one of those benefactors, and as much as she wished she could find a way to keep helping the core...

Her time in the original Rebel Alliance had taught her one, brutal lesson: When to walk away from a lost cause.

For now though, she was watching the Imperials make a new move. A new conquest.

Now was the time to strike.

The attack was two fold. On the opposite side of the planet of Sularen's fleet,, Jonyna's flagship, The Dawnbreaker II, exited hyperspace. The goal wasn't containment. That was Zoro Igala Zoro Igala 's job. No, it was evacuation. They had already done so over the last few weeks, in preparation for the attack. Rebel listening posts had figured out the annexation was coming sooner rather than later, and the Dawn of Hope had quietly been getting as many civilians out as wanted to.

For now, Jonyna watched as the Rocs and LAATs decended upon the planet. Soon, she would join them. For now, the fleet was quiet.

The Imperials would have someone upon them soon.

Soon, the trap was sprung.

Out of the blackness of space, a fleet came out of hyperspace, right into firing range. Two Venators, and a Battlecruiser big enough to be mistaken as a Dreadnaught. Around it, a set of five frigates set up in formation.

The Dawn of Hope's forward line.

And yet, hidden by their deep blue paint, and hidden by sensors masks, far in the back is a duo of frigates waiting for orders.

"This is Zoro Igla of the Wild Space Rebellion, hailing Supreme Commander Marlon Sularen. Respectfully, on behalf of the Colonial Defense Fleet of Lakonia, Go Fuck Yourself."

Without another word, the plan sprung into action. Out of the hangers of the venators, B-wings flew right into action. Their targets? The Ravager and Iron Sun. Before anything else, they would engage. Ion blasters designed originally as sniper rifles for the Alliance, now repurposed back to their original purpose. Starship cannons. A test of the Star Destroyer's shields. Next came the Venators, their hammer batteries picking the same two targets.

Zoro knew better than to target the flagships. The larger ships were always the prized ships of the line, and the most heavily guarded. Target the outer line? You can whittle them down. Maybe sink a few.

All the while, the Lifelight did what it was designed to do. Opened fire with it's full battery to take the attention away from the rest of the fleet. Aim right at the bridge of the flagship. Blind them.

Actions:
Came out of hyperspace, Battlecruiser and Venators front, Tenacity Cruisers in the back. Frigates hidden, far in the back.
B-wings deployed, firing on the Iron Sky and Ravager.
Venators follow with ion barrages, also firing on the same targets.
Lifelight opens fire on the bridge of the Sularen's Revenge.

Lianna City, The Neyrix.

A fallen Jedi, turned Sith Lord, sits in a reclined position atop a pyramid constructed centuries before the rise and fall of Emperor Kilran.

The office is a strange thing-- hardly one at all if we were to go by the conventional means. Eerie fading lights reverberate intermixing with the faint working of air scrubbers supplying stale, refined oxygen and fans which whirred in design to keep the machinery within cool from overheating. Beneath the lights a series of screens play an assortment of things to the woman sitting before them, and they show an array of things, some of which she should see, and others that she should not.

To the top left were the emergency broadcasts detailing the destruction of the third Death Star. Beneath it, situated on another screen, were telemetry reports of the planet Mahporeem-- headquarters of the Mahporeem Imperial Remnant who had been petitioned into joining the Imperial Confederation by Marlon Sularen after contact had been established between them and the now defunct Empire Reborn following the successful establishment of the Second Imperial Occupation within the former territories of the fallen Empire of the Lost.

On the top right were data streams indicating trades, commerce and other forms of business conducted by the N&Z Umbrella Corporation, and beneath that screen was another showing similar activity pursued by the revived Santhe Corporation. But while these things were of interest to the enigmatic Her, who posed among the entities under an array of different titles or false identities, it was the largest screen out of them all that had her eye.

This screen played the annexation of the Lakonia system, situated along the Outer Rim systems, two parsecs out from the Imperial occupied Jabiim and Crucival systems respectively, and who were now under attack by Confederation forces following their victory after the Battle of Atrisia. In accordance with the set objectives made during a summit above Mon Cala, weeks after the arranged economic collapse of Kilran Administration, the Confederation were still in pursuance of the reclamation of star systems that were lost during the first occupation by the Lost-Imperial junta who had been reformed briefly under the umbrella Imperial Sector Authority and who were now exercising their influence amid the Imperial Remnants well with much thanks to the well positioned Exarch of the COMECI, Karl Von Strauss Karl Von Strauss .

There was no doubt in Her mind that the Eggman would approve of Strauss' machinations. After all he had envisioned himself ruling the Galaxy forever under His Majesties might.

As the strobing lights danced above Her (which were designed to give the viewer the sensation that they were underwater), with the faint sound of news reports playing in the ether, she rested her cheek into their palm while propping another elbow up along the arm rest to give the air of nonchalance and boredom. Two years of conspiracy had yielded the results of her fruit and labour to get her into the positioned she had today, but to those who follow the pathology of the dark side, there was not much to lament over in face of absolution, and perfection.

She was rich, powerful, and influential across these Outer Rim systems. From the halls of the Diarchy-Chancellorate to the Commission for the Establishment of Civilian Interests, Her possessed real political power to shape policy or talk of the day with a few levers that only needed to be leveraged, or pulled, with thanks to well placed sources or associates fitted among the status quo upon New Alderaan or Bastion.

Elsewhere, in the Mid Rim systems, existed the security subsidiary apparatus of the mysterious Wend Maricon conglomerate who had pioneered the revival of the Five Veils Route which had granted Her access to an assortment of high end aristocratic events held on Naboo that dictated the political hemisphere in the High Republic. There were so many that had their ears to her mouth, and a few choice words here or there could determine the fate of entire star systems for the next decade.

They all paled in comparison to the great weapon. A planet killer capable of bending and tearing down the old powers to give rise to a New Order. Pure, and pristine, unbridled power-- which had met the similar fates of it's predecessors. Her had only seen it once with their own eyes, in a spire on Had Abaddon, when Ayra had met with her in person to discuss their shared plot over the Thandon Star Cluster. You learn quickly, in this life, that there is always a cost when following the dark side. Everything is transient. Who could have predicted a war hero from the first Core Wars would be responsible for this carnage?

The master, and their apprentice, both dealt in realms of absolution, where the line is drawn, and the die is cast. If Atrisia fell into the domain of the Galactic Empire, if the arcane ritual of the New Sith Order had come to fruition, then Thandon would have become a potential next target for the Dark-Imperial junta if their machinations could be heard. After all, the great cartographer Titus Motti, had made the vision of his superiors clear: to them the Sith Holy Worlds were to be no-more. They were to be erased while a new galaxy was born out of destruction, and in a fiery glow of green light, they would have taken the entire nebulae with them, had they won on their day.

But Atrisia hadn't fell. Some were speculating that while they had won the battle (with thanks to an abundance of unlikely allies) the Galactic Alliance were set to lose the war, and their last contribution to the old guard was to take the Emperor's weapon with them. With their sacrifice--the speculated last stand of the once-a-upon-a-time dominant power across the Galaxy-- the Rule of Two would have to look elsewhere to bring about the demise of that region of space where their enemy lingers and plots.

It was ironic that Sularen should save them so that he could save himself given what had happened at Brosi...

Emergency Session Convened by Exarch Karl Von Strauss

Anchor: "Good evening, citizens of the Imperial Confederation. We begin tonight's broadcast with breaking news from the Chambers of the Commission for the Establishment of Civilian Interests, where an emergency session was convened late this evening by Exarch Karl Von Strauss. We now go live to our correspondent on-site for further details."

Correspondent: "Thank you. The Exarch initiated the emergency session at approximately 2200 hours, invoking Emergency Measure EX-42a. Which is a seldom-used provision allowing for immediate action under conditions of perceived state instability. According to preliminary reports, the Empress, Liraeth Descart, has been placed under house arrest following her continued absence from more than a dozen public and ceremonial engagements. The Exarch cited concerns that Her Imperial Majesty may be a potential flight risk."

"Several Prefects reportedly questioned the legality of this action and requested verifiable evidence to support the order. However, the Exarch declined to provide details and instead moved to enact Emergency Measure EX-76b, which calls for the immediate suspension and removal of dissenting Prefects. Following that announcement, the chamber was sealed and all civilian reporters and liaison personnel were escorted from the premises..."

The same finger presses down, again, and the broadcast changes to another.

Interviewer: "Yes, I think we are in all agreement that the actions of the Supreme Commander were heroic. But seeing as we are touching on Aegis I wanted to get your comment regarding the continued quarantine of Tion. There is heavy speculation that the ICD have been responsible for the transportation of prisoners to the quarantined zone. What do you know?"

Eirys Santhe: "That is something you will have to take up with the Warden Primus..."

We Remember His and Her Majesty

On Stardate: 081724, the much beloved, respected, and revered EMPEROR OF ALL IMPERIAL KIND sacrificed himself above LOTHAL to prevent the uprising initiated by the DEFEATED terrorist cell now known to us formerly as the TINGEL ARM COALITION.

The ISA, as proud members of the great IMPERIAL CONFEDERATION, victors of ATRISIA, would like to take this time to remember and commiserate the sacrifice of the KILRAN DYNASTY in forever honoured service to bringing peace, order and justice to these lands of our EMPIRE OF THE LOST!

In this time of victory let us not forget that it was He and the PHANTOM EMPRESS who laid the path ahead so that this era of CHAOS may finally come to an end...

The monitor changes again, but as it plays the next segment, the sound fades into the background, for it has been replaced by something far better.

"We will fulfil Velran Kilran's destiny..."

Suspended in a miniature holographic formed floated Darth Ayra, founder of the insurrectionist Fifth Wing, Sith Master in the reconsecrated Rule of Two, and member of the mysterious New Sith Order, in the office of the Neyrix pyramid located in the Halquarn District of Lianna City.

In the ether, as she conversed with her apprentice, the series of broadcasts playing from across Imperial space and beyond, floated in the din as if to be drowned out by something of greater importance. Some that played were things that they should have access to, but there were others that neither hologram, or woman should know about.

Such is the nature of those who follow the tenets of the dark side.

"The Empire's attack upon the galaxy was fortuitous, and advantageous. To have turned the Death Star upon Thandon would have expedited our work. But it is gone now, and I fear that our associates in the Core Worlds will be less than likely to do what we would like them to, my apprentice..."

It has been two years since Alicia Drey first entered the offices of Santhe-Sienar to acquire assistance in the recovery of lost assets.

Somewhere the body of the Director rots in a black site, of which only those on the Confederation Imperial Ruling Council are privy to knowing about, where she is forever held as evidence of the plot and murder that they initiated during her time as lead officer in the defunct New Imperial Security Bureau of the late Empire of the Lost.

"Project Tion must get back on schedule. Patience must, once again, become our weapon, as we steer them back into conflict with the Sith..."

A delegate from the Trade Federation of Planets once informed a war council aboard the Mors Mon that Drey was a double-agent working for the Dark Empire on Lianna. Others say that the Director was an agent of the Tsis'Kaar, and just over a year ago, the Trigonus Report implicated that she was working on behalf of the New Jedi Order with a rebellion cell located on Hurikane.

Lies stacked atop of lies designed to push the Imperial remnants towards war with those hiding beyond the shroud of the Stygian Caldera.

"The D.S.D.T would have found Kakus by now. It has served our purpose. He is not in Imperial space... We must look elsewhere..."

Some years after the end of the Second Great Hyperspace War a Sith Lord turned away from the tenants of the dark side, and created a new way-- one which looked to break free from the shackles and control of the Force. Later, when Bastion had been conquered by two brothers, a new regime built on those beliefs came to power, and steadily, at the beginning of this new century of chaos, it has spread itself beyond the Braxant Run to sit on the precipice of a crusade to rid the galaxy of dogma, and chain.

The Father remains elusive, and somewhere, a Mother has wept for her Sons.

"Nargath and Zanareth Umbrella Corporation will make their inquiries into our activities after Atrisia, I foresee. The Empire threatened their commercial and political interests with their attack. If they were to discover your links to our associates in the Core then I foresee them turning on us. It does not matter that we have helped them every step of the way since we made contact. They only care about themselves regardless of what you have been told..."

After the Sartinaynian Crisis a new asset was recruited by Nargath & Zanareth Umbrella Corporation into their secretive Section C Branch to assist and provide their conglomerates wealth, assets and technology to that same woman so that the next incident they would inspire would fit nicely into the companies portfolio.

Later, a clandestine operation permitted by Liraeth Deschart (codenamed PROJECT TION) led to an attack on the planet Brosi to conquer the Thandon Star Nebulae to eliminate the so-called Sith threat and bring the Corporate Sector into Imperial control as the Confederation seeks to establish full control of the Outer Rim systems.

The attack failed, and soon after Atrisia, Deschart was arrested, potentially bringing the Project she authorized into disrepute.

"You should meet with the Exarch, alone, as soon as you can. We must determine whether or not his decision to remove Deschart from power is advantageous or not. Whatever the outcome of the conversation we must learn more about what he knows about my surveillance programme, and arrange for it to be shut down for good. The I.C.D will be useful in this endeavour..."

On the third Death Star the Man-Behind-The-Curtain and the entity Onrai were confronted by a woman who tried to convince the former to kill the latter while they were trying to stop a ritual designed to destroy the Galactic Alliance and cause catastrophic losses to all the galactic powers in a simultaneous attack. When the Man refused, and Onrai exposed Ayra to him, she did not strike them down where they stood, and left them to their devices, leaving them to gorge upon the arcane sorcery wrought by Darth Vinaze.

As the fallout of Atrisia is considered, while Lakonia is conquered and brought back into Imperial control, questions surface and linger, yet to be solved and answered. Nevertheless the conspiracy, which began with Velran Kilran's coup against Aculia Voland two years ago, continues to linger, yet dangerously close to being discovered, circumvented, and perhaps, destroyed before it can continue to wreak havoc...

Like a tearing in the fabric of reality, Unto The Breach transitioned into real space, its black flank gleaming as it plied the stars like a hungry beast seeking its prey. Unto The Breach had been docked for weeks while Rakel was in the Unknown Regions with a large complement of TIC forces at the request of Sularen himself. He had missed...much, in his absence. The galaxy had been on fire, set ablaze by the Galactic Empire. The Galactic Empire had been pushed back, but Calin seethed inside from having missed so much; however, his mission had been of the utmost importance, and he had followed his orders regardless of his personal feelings.

Rakel cleared his throat, looking at his ship's display as the feed updated with the Colonial Defense Fleet's movements. He watched Sularen's fleet maneuvering while Rakel's own fleet dropped out of hyperspace around him.

Unto The Breach commanded the immediate vicinity, its monstrous size a warning to those who would oppose it. Flanking it were two Imperial XI-Class Star Destroyers. Not usually seen on the battlefield and rare these days, Calin's station within the 7th allowed him an allocation of ships most admirals wouldn't be able to obtain. Ranging farther forward as his picket line, Celox-class frigates and Hofund-Class Fast Cruisers were waiting to intercept enemy fighter formations along with Rakel's own starfighter complement.

He watched the enemy's movements, a large ship flanked by what appeared to be Venators and support ships, engaged the Admiral's fleet. More ships were burning engines toward the surface, while a few were coming from it, but on trajectories putting them towards the edge of the system. Fleeing.

"It's good to have you back, sir," Communication Officer Talon stated as he walked up to Rakel, handing him a datapad.

Rakel glanced over at him before taking the datapad and looking at the info on it, "It's good to be back, Talon." Rakel took a deep breath before releasing it and nodding at Talon, "Let's get this done."

Rakel sent a tight beam transmission toward Sularen's fleet, "Supreme Commander Sularen, this is Admiral Rakel. The 7th has arrived. We're moving up to form on you."

Rakel changed comm frequencies to address his fleet, "Combat formations, I want picket ships ranging, engage those enemy fighters when they come close. Deploy fighter squadrons, leaving four in reserve for now. Let's intercept those enemy fighters. Give me probes as well, send them far and wide, I want eyes and ears everywhere. Target the Venator's with our capital ships and let's probe their defenses."

"Yes, sir!" the bridge crew barked in unison as Rakel sent out orders. Let's get this done, he thought to himself again as he watched his fleet begin combat maneuvers. It was time to get back into the realm of the here and now. The Unknown Regions and their problems could wait, for now. In the meantime, Rakel cherished the feel of the deck beneath his boots vibrate as his ships opened up on the enemy formations at extreme range.

He watched his fighters swarm like a horde of angry wasps toward the enemy contingent. Dropships fat with friendly soldiers waited in their births. They would be used as ground assault or ship boarding parties when the time was right. Rakel watched the initial engagement begin, knowing a victory was enivatable.

Objective 1
Squesha's fleet came out of hyperspace, the white streaks of stars transitioning back into the familiar dots in the background. As her ships formed up Admiral Squesha noted how her helm officers had brought her directly between Marlon Sularen Marlon Sularen 's and Calin Rakel Calin Rakel 's fleets. Just as she had planned.

Squesha had brought a somewhat smaller fleet to the engagement than she typically wielded. She herself had forgone her usual flagship and instead made a carrier her flagship, The Charcaradon. Her other ships consisted of cruisers, frigates and corvettes. She understood all to well the nature of combined fleets, and when where one fleet excels you must exceed where it doesn't. Her colleagues had brought a vast concentration of capital ships, a fine example of confederation might and the hammer to crush opposition. But a dagger can be just as deadly in the hands of an expert, especially when it comes to an enemy as slippery as rebels.

Well equipped rebels, it would seem. They too possesed capital ships, even if they paled in comparison to the confederations. But Squesha knew that the greatest weapon of the enemy was your own overconfidence.

"We shall throw those rebels off their game. Let their emotion cloud their judgement. Interceptors are to deploy to counter their fighters. I want our fire to focus on their medical ships, then supply ships. The Star Destroyers will handle the enemy armor. Our job is to make the enemy bleed."

Like a snake uncoiling her fleet formed up, with the faster ships at the front covering the carriers and cruisers. Fighters swarmed out, their pilots flying in groups of four.

The dropship rocked as it entered into Sardis’s upper atmosphere. Inside the hanger bay, laughter and shouted jubilation poured over the open comms. On different channels, each had its own names being claimed, medals being promised, and stories lengthening with every retelling. CT-312 listened without looking. Letting it wash over her like radio static.

It was almost comical how everyone grasped for credit over the destruction of the Death Star III. The whole galaxy was at war with each other, trying to stop the advancement of the Galactic Empire and its super weapon. Be it on the planet Atrisia, in space, or on board the Death Star III, the Galactic Empire failed. CT-312 knew her piece of it. Played her part. Having gone aboard fighting, obtaining schematics and whatever data she could grab of the super weapon. Moved with the Dark Lord ( Darth Carnifex Darth Carnifex ) and Scherezade deWinter Scherezade deWinter , shifting into the reactor chamber with the cores. The Scout split from them, taking out a single core while the dead fused with wiring and metal into something obscene. Trying to stop them. What happened to the remaining cores, she didn’t know at the time.

Sith channels filled in the rest. Threading through into the furthest reaches of the galaxy, it was the Dark Lord with the hired DeathDrop at his side, sent the remaining cores into a meltdown. He, responsible for the true destruction of the Death Star III.

CT-312 let out a faint silent sigh of annoyance inside the confines of her helmet. At the end of the day, it was all propaganda. All of this. Everyone bent the story toward their flag. CT-312 kept the only truth she knew: what she did and how she did it. At the end of it all, she was just doing her duties.

THUD. THUD. THUD. CT-312 banged her fist on the hull. Shut that off.” The celebratory chorus and noise stuttered into silence. Replaced with the dropship’s metal hull groaning and creaking. CT-312 couldn’t be bothered with such political jargon nonsense. She glanced at Eira Dyn Eira Dyn , who sat opposite her. Slightly curious what the assassin thought about all this propaganda. Which version of truth she would choose. CT-312 already had a guess.

Green text scrolls across the inside of her visor’s HUD as CT-312 brought up the mission overlay one last time.

<:// Location: Sardis //:>
<:// Assigned: Arbiter Arbiter //:>
<:// Allies: The Imperial Confederation //:>
<:// Objective: Converge on the Quorum. Eliminate resistance. Capture Lakonian assemblymen and key leaders. Cripple government networks //:>

Straightforward. This type of operation was nothing new to her. “Capture their leaders and take out anyone who gets in our way.” What was it they say?... “Another walk in the park. Any questions?” The armor she wore was that of the Imperial Confederation colors. Just as colors changed, so did her name for this mission. CT-312 observed that Eira too, was not in her usual outfit as well. “Picked a call sign yet? I’ll be going by Rook.”

Red hazard lights pulsed against the ship's metal walls. “T-minus ten.” the pilot called over the bay’s intercom. CT-312 rose. Mag boots clung to the deck, keeping her in place. Her fingers ran along and across her equipment. A final check. BARCA pinged a status check, [All Systems Operational]. Once done, she moved to the far right drop pod. A half-smirk pulled at the corner of her mouth. Muttering to herself, “It’s been a while.” Making a fist with her right hand, slamming it to the pod’s exterior hull once. THUD. Feeling the reverberation through glove and bones. Part muscle memory, part benediction.

Mid-climb CT-312 paused. It occurred to her this might be Eira’s first drop with the DeathDrop. She looked back. Amusement faint in her tone through the helmet's modulator, “Hope you like to travel by express.” They’d be traveling the DeathDrop way. Right into the heart of the operation.

The Scout continued in. Settling herself as fingers snapped each latch into place. The hatch sealed with a long mechanical hiss. The world outside became a thin distant noise. A pocket of silence. Away from the noise and the spun truths. CT-312 kept the fact of what she’d done. Now folding into the armor as Rook. "Let's get this over with." She tilted her helmet back into the headrest and called back, subtle humor threaded through the comms.

"Drop’s live.

Anthony had been all over the place in the last six months.

After his return to the Alliance, it felt like everything was falling apart. He remember when Master Valery Noble Valery Noble announced her stepping down as Grandmaster, and to him, that still felt like a shock.

From there, he'd taken up a job some might call unfitting of a jedi.

Bounty Hunter.

Though, to any normal bounty hunter, they might scoff at the idea of calling him one. He didn't really do the traditional bounty hunting life. He preferred the term...

Hero for Hire.

He'd done everything he could to get his family and old crew out of the core. Now, they were rebels. Part of the Wild Space Rebellion, living on planets some might forget to put on the galactic map.

Today, the mission was simple. Defend the Quorum, at all cost.

He stood waiting, his lightsaber in one hand, his ion pistol in the other. At his hip, a small canteen. Normally one would assume it a simple piece of comfort.

For Anthony, it was a weapon, and a tool.

It wasn't like the Lord of Hunger wanted to be in any way bussy with the pacification of the systems within reach of the Imperial Confederation, considering he still had to work out the kinks he had figured out were lying within the very core of the Confederation he had so painstakingly attempted to guide with caution through both manipulation and considerate effort. There were still some issues within the confederation that needed new oversight and restructuring, but alas...as it was still a place built on the imperial ideals, expansion was always part of their core beliefs. As such, even someone so deeply hidden within the shadows of the Imperial Confederation couldn't escape the urge to at the very least be present when such expansion was under way.

The Lakonia system with its wealth and more or less overpopulated worlds was the most likely target of the Imperial Authority's designs, a gut feeling had also drawn the Lord of Hunger to this place, as a large populace also meant a larger posibility to find new subjects, new projects and new victims for his own neverending search for power. Still, on the flipside, he also knew this sort of population numbers would mean there was ample crime, ample desire to go around, thus through those ideas, these places were a hotbed for shady deals or grand industrial hopes. Sardis was in a sense proof of this contradiction.

The Gluttoneria wasn't meant to stay in this place and as it had unloaded a full squadron of HAAT/i gunships into the atmosphere, carrying a full platoon of Gluttoneria Troopers, while a dozen of the massive battlecruiser's drop pods where unloaded at the same time, making their way to the surface in order to have a standing presence in the form of two urban enforcement Cohorts on the ground, these numbers were far from ideal in terms of overwhelming any oposition, but would no doubt find themselves as necessary support to the main Imperial Army which was on its way...

Dropships rattled as air defense cannons roared to life, a reminder that they were not wanted by the Colonial government. She didn't care, they were the enemy as far as she was concerned. So let them bluster until they run out of ammo, as long as she got paid. The gunship they fired at was not truly meant for her, she merely hitched a ride from space down to the planet. Maybe she should invest in a personal shuttle?

Such a thought crossed Tibera's mind as she held onto one of the hanging handles of the HAAT/i, trying to think of anything but nearby exploding flak. One of her hands raised to bring her wrist-mounted communicator up to her face. She would address the troops in her transport, not to order them around, but to coordinate with their command.

"Standard drop procedure until we link up with the droids! They'll be able to take the brunt of the enemy fire, and save us a lot of casualties on the way in!"

As she was speaking, the transport buckled, almost sending the merc to the floor! Their right engine had taken minor damage, but was still operable. It meant they'd have to make a landing away from the original landing zone. Always something, she thought, but this time they weren't going to have to drop out of the sky for it!

The HAAT/i made it's way to a bank building in the midst of the downtown area. Several pods of droids had made landfall their. She was ready, and soon the fast ropes were flung out the side of the gunship. Heavy fire was lobbed towards amassed enemies, letting the troops inside the gunship rappel downward unmolested. Sometimes she really loved a good gunship pilot...

Her HUD soon lit up with a dizzying amount of information, tactical data and noise all at once. All the while the enemy fire shifted onto the landing site. Tibera hefted up her rifle and started returning fire, a burst towards each window ahead of her. She snarled into her comms at the enemies attempting to suppress her position!

One thing was for sure, the N&Z troops could hold their own, she wouldn't be babysitting today! That was always a relief, because having to carry dead weight got annoying after the first bloodbath or two...

Captain Dieter arrived on Sardis forty-eight hours before the Confederation's invasion. He'd been sent in as a single "undercover" asset, a laughable notion given his two-meter Atoan frame and the volume of cargo he'd brought. Command had billeted him in a cramped room a block from the Quorum; his gear took up a third of the space. His orders were simple: recon the area around the Colonial Assembly Quorum and report back.

His first scheduled transmission was late (he'd been three bowls deep into the local stew), which earned him the predictable reprimands from command.

Two days later, he stood in a shadowed alley within sight of the Quorum, a cigarillo smouldering at his lips. Under a heavy cloak, his powered armor thrummed; he ran a final checklist over weapons and systems. With the armor's sprint profile, he estimated twenty to thirty seconds to the main entrance once the diversion hit.

His forearm chimed.

<<Incoming orders… Objective: Capture or kill Lakonian assembly members. Any resistance to be eliminated with extreme prejudice… Confirm?>>

He drew a long drag, the embers bright in the dim alley, exhaled, and answered the comm: "Confirmed."

Dieter closed his eyes and tuned himself to the city, discarding one sound after another until only the one he'd been waiting for remained. To civilians, it would be a howl of atmosphere; to him, the last Imperial Paragon and a man who'd fallen asleep to drop-pod dives more times than he cared to count, it was unmistakable: the cry of a pod piercing sky.

It arrived. The diversionary strike hit. Dieter dropped the cigarillo into a gutter, tightened his grip, and sprinted for the Quorum.

Anthony had been there for a few days now, his senses were dulled by the monotony of it.

And yet, it didn't take long before he sensed it. Drop pods incoming. The fight was upon them. Still, his senses through the Force was ringing. It was not the drop pods he was worried about...

It was the man in power armor charging down the hallway.

"I'm gonna take it you're not here to see the diplomatic process..." Anthony groaned, as he ignited his saber, holding it out in front of him in a show of warning. "One chance, stand down."

Anthony's other hand went to his heavy duty ion pistol. He'd disable to armor before this guy hit him.

The defense of the Quorum was far lighter than Dieter expected. After a quick jaunt from the alleyway to one of the entrances, only two Lakonian soldiers moved to stop him, and both were dealt with before a single blaster shot could sound. He stripped a security pass from one of their uniforms and used it to slip inside the building.

The corridors were eerily empty. As he moved deeper, weaving through the sterile hallways, a nagging thought began to form: perhaps the Quorum itself was a diversion. But that notion vanished the moment he turned a corner and came face to face with what he assumed was another Lakonian soldier.

"I'm gonna take it you're not here to see the diplomatic process..." Anthony groaned, as he ignited his saber, holding it out in front of him in a show of warning. "One chance, stand down."

He slowed his stride only slightly to address the figure, clearly not a Lakonian soldier after all. "Technically," he said jokingly, "transfer of power is diplomatic process, no?"

With that, he unclipped his cloak and flung it toward the figure as a distraction. A split second later, his rocket pack roared to life, propelling him forward in a blur, knee first, toward his target.

xTZHP11.png

Charging anyone with a lightsaber ready to counter was a risky choice, but Anthony knew no one would try without a plan. Anthony knew better. Raising the tip of his blade forward, he aimed it right at that knee to attempt to stab at it, while defending himself in the process. Blade held forward, he brought his other hand up, and spread out a Barrier from wall to wall, with only his blade projecting from it.

The trooper would smash into it, surely, but he'd pay for such choice.

"Can't let you do that, kid."

"Sir. We're detecting numerous ships emerging from hyperspace."

Right on cue, a fleet of eleven warships emerged from hyperspace to confront Sularen's Fleet. It was a modest fleet, comprised of one battlecruiser, two star destroyers, three frigates and five corvettes, but still no match for the Supreme Commander's fleet which had superior firepower, stronger durability and most likely more starfighters then their opponent. Furthermore, the arrival of this new fleet had come with a single response to his ultimatum in which the enemy commander identified themselves as one Zoro Igala of the Wild Space Rebellion and told Sularen to fuck off.

In the face of such a response the Supreme Commander couldn't help but chuckle a bit. Usually enemy commanders spoke with dignity even when speaking to their opponents, but this was the first time an opponent had swore to him prior to a battle. Still this gave him some insight on who he was facing, an impulsive individual who either was extremely arrogant or simply had extremely strong convictions. Nevertheless he would be dealt with in short order.

Right after Igala gave his vulgar response to Sularen, he immediately made the first move launching B-Wings to attack two of his Star Destroyers followed by moderate attacks from their heavier warships against those same two Star Destroyers and the Sularen's Revenge itself, as the enemy concentrated their attack on the Ship's main superstructure and the bridge tower. Some of the shots did strike the bridge tower although the shields were doing their jobs at protecting the bridge from such attacks although it did make it hard for Sularen to maintain a perfect view of the battlefield.

Fortunately for Sularen, more ships would emerge from hyperspace this time being from the Imperial Confederation as Vice-Admiral Rakel and Admiral Squesha arrived with their fleets ready to provide assistance to the Supreme Commander in dealing with the Rebel rabble who thought that they could take on the Imperial Confederation and succeed. Sularen then proceeded to open a channel with the two Imperial naval commanders and proceeded to address them.

"Vice-Admiral Rakel, Admiral Squesha. Pull back your forces and hold them in reserve" the Supreme Commander instructed. "We don't want to overcommit to this battle as we don't know what else the enemy has in store for us." he added. It was also a matter of principle, of showing this rebel scum that they weren't worthy of facing the full might of the Imperial Navy and that only a fraction of it's power was needed to deal with them for good.

"Have the Ravager and Iron Sun deploy their TIE Jägers and TIE Stürmers to deal with those B-Wings and have all Star Destroyers concentrate their fire on their Venators." he further ordered. It was a simple counter to the enemy's initial attack, but the Supreme Commander sought to test how capable his opponent was before moving in to utterly annihilate him on the field of battle.

Thus, as instructed the Ravager and Iron Sun began releasing their TIE complements except for their Bombers which quickly rushed forth to engage the enemy B-Wings. Fortunately the TIEs had numbers on their side as they currently outnumbered the B-Wings 4-1 which would give them a temporary advantage in the initial dogfight against the B-Wings and inflict the necessary amount of casualties needed to render those B-Wing Squadrons effectively useless. At the same time, the five Imperial-XI Star Destroyers within Sularen's fleet began to open fire on the two Venators within the enemy fleet with each Destroyer concentrating all of their firepower on a single Venator with the whole group splitting their focus to deal more effective concentrated firepower against the enemy warships.

Now all that was left was to see how his opponent would react to his move and from there determine the best course of action to eradicate his forces and secure yet another major victory for the Imperial Confederation.

The truth surrounding the events of the destruction of the Death Star III were likely going to differ from every big faction perspective. To the Galactic Empire, it was the fault of multitudes but mostly wormholes. Which... Eira felt confusing since she had never heard of wormholes blowing things up before. But that was there take, easier to blame things that occurred all over the station rather than allow people to celebrate those who made an effort to attack the cores. The Imperial Confederacy heralded themselves as the ones to bring down the station and she was sure the High Republic, the Mandalorians and those in the Galactic Alliance championed themselves as being the ones who brought down the station.

Truth was not an absolute as some would naively like to believe. Truth was just something the loudest voice, who held the greatest power would declare and every other voice was made to be silenced. So, in time, her errors would never be known and the problems she faced in abilities would be forgotten since the truth would be that she was the perfect acolyte, apprentice and knight. A prodigy.

That will be the truth that she will declare. For now, she was working again with CT-312 on a mission. Learning this was going to be in Imperial Confederacy territory, Eira made some precautions so she was not identified as a member of the Sith Order and treated with hostilities. Diminishing her presence in the Force to almost nothing, Eira wanted to present herself as a simple bounty hunter hired for work. Her armour was adjusted to appear that way and she held a more rugged posture to show she was someone raised to be ruthless. "Sounds simple... Hopefully it is, I hate jobs that come with extra work." Eira growled.

Following CT-312's lead and getting into position, Eira grinned behind her mask. "Should know me better than to ask. I love to get straight into the action and chaos. Just make sure to keep up." Eira chuckled as she waited for the drop to happen. "Name's Kaela for this mission. Need to make sure my ties aren't known with these lot." Eira stated, figuring CT-312 would want to know the cover name that she was using for the mission. Kaela was a name that she had used before but for now it wasn't a name that was burned so it was still good for her to use elsewhere.

The initial attack had worked as intended. Draw out the enemy wings, and engage their Star Destroyers.

Zoro had studied Sularen's tactics. He relied on superior firepower, but rarely tactical dominance. Big guns to win big battles. Classic Imperial Doctrine. Zoro however, had been trained in the academy of both the Alliance, and now Pirate tactics.

"Keep the bows forward on the Dawns. Present a smaller target for them, our guns are forward facing anyways. Focus fire on the Ravager."

The shields of the Dawns would hold for now, while the enemy fleet pounded it, it was designed for such things. Designed to take on forward batteries of Sith Battlecruisers. Si Tech's bottomless budget at it's finest. The trio of capitol ships shifted their focus, ion super-heavy cannons focusing fire on the single SD.

Still, Zoro's eyes flitted across the viewscreens. The B-wings were in danger of being ambushed without orders.

Good thing they out ranged those interceptors by miles.

"Have the B-wings circle around towards the Tenacitys. Use their Spot cannons to spine those mothers out of the sky, then flak them to oblivion."

Only a moment later, the B-wings lined up their shots, and fired a series of hypersonic ion bolts at the Ties, percision shots aimed at the leads of each squadron, before circling around and opening up with their aft chainlasers, leading the interceptors back towards the five .

A moment later, the sky in front of the TIEs was filled with exploding flak, the five corvettes doing exactly as they were intended to. Ward off enemy squadrons, all the while, the B-wings flew back towards the friendly fleet.

Zoro breathed a sigh, as he looked back to the viewscreen one last time.

"Ye Ole Pub, Winds of Change, jump and disrupt their formation."

<Copy Zoro, prepping for microjump.>

The two frigates, designed to take on ships twice their size, each spun their guns towards the rear, before activating their hyperdrives if only for a moment. Suddenly, they were both behind the Imperial fleet, guns aimed at their engines. The two frigates opened fire with their heavy turbos, and let out a barrage of ion torpedos at the engine blocks of the enemy flagship, before turning themselves to bare their frontal armor.

Actions:
B-wings disengage from the SDs, luring the TIEs towards the heavy corvettes.
The three capital ships focus fire on the Ravager, heavy ion barrages.
The two Astrocat Frigates microjump behind the enemy formation, opening fire on the engines of the Sularen's Revenge.

"Fighters incoming ma'am."

Around the back of the planet, and yet the Imperials still wished to brawl. Jonyna let out a snarl, as she looked to the viewscreen, then back to her commander. They wouldn't have Amelia von Sorenn Amelia von Sorenn 's ships to protect them now. The Alliance was gone.

Jonyna looked to her naval officer, and nodded.

"Push the Dawnbreaker towards the head of the formation, and call for battlestations. Aim our batteries for full ion barrage when they come around the orbit on their flagship. Send the B-wings to intercept their squadrons. Deploy the LionXs as CAP."

The Dawnbreaker II whirred to life. What had been a quiet evacuation was now a defense. Exactly as the fleet had been designed for. For a moment, Jonyna considered calling it there. A doctrinal defense, waiting for the enemy to hit them.

But Jonyna was never one to follow doctrine to the letter. Never one to be predictable.

She stood from her seat in the bridge, before looking to her comms officer, a cathar who had been with her for a few years now. "Ho'era, I trust you can hold the line from here with the rest of the crew. I'm going to go give the Imperials a personal welcome."

"Ma'am?"

"Tell the ground crews to prep the Tenacity. I'm going to give the war criminals a show of what a jedi master can do with a single ship."

"Y-yes ma'am!"

Jonyna walked back towards the hanger, as she listened to the intercom blare off her orders.

"All starfighter pilots! To your stations! Gunnery crews, on standby until the enemy is in range!"

As she entered the hanger, she watched as the LionXs of the Dawnbreaker II took off, while the B-wings flew by the hanger in a show of force. In front of her, her personal crew prepped her personal ship, the Tenacity. "Master, we're prepped to go. How shall we proceed?"

"Activate all stealth systems. I want our approach to go unnoticed. Optical disruptors, sensor deflectors, everything. We're gonna sneak in then sock them in the jaw."

"Yes Ma'am!"

Jonyna intended to do much more than sock them in the jaw.

Actions:

Dawnbreaker II pushs forward, aiming his turbolasers towards the enemy fleet, opening fire the moment they come around the curve of the planet.
B-wings push forward to open fire on the incoming fighters, using their superior range to engage with ion cannons.
Jonyna disembarks on The Tenacity, using the ship's stealth systems to sneak out of the back of the Dawnbreaker II
