The honeycomb's construction was the city's perpetual project. Initially, its purpose was purely structural, defining the first iteration of the city as it spiraled around the base of the great spire. As generations passed, this stone lattice filled with life transforming into homes, grand estates, and multi-leveled city streets that stacked upon one another. Technological advances drew inspiration from galactic wonders like Coruscant and Denon, with subterranean levels employing advanced illumination and atmospheric systems to mimic the open sky.
Millennia later, a network of artificial waterways was woven through the stone, granting the mountaintop city a self-sustaining system. These canals created a new dimension of life, facilitating transport by boat, creating underwater storage vaults, and nurturing fresh fisheries. While construction never ceased, the foundational Kazue stonework remained a constant, its interiors and exteriors gradually sheathed in jade wood and jade crystalline glass. This elegant facade presented a timeless, classical visage that masterfully concealed the ever-advancing technology within.
The rise of the Jishi era and the Atrisian Commonwealth's achievement of post-scarcity transformed these cities into thriving hubs for millions. But peace was shattered by the attack on Jar'Kai. In response, the eternal construction shifted purpose once more. The very corridors and canals of the honeycomb were reforged into a defensive labyrinth, a tactical network where every the people, trained under the new reforms, could move, coordinate, and defend their home with lethal efficiency.
Junko has overseen projects with Miyoung who worked on many aspects of it and between her and Ahri's labs in the city they were able to develop a lot of projects that would be seen around the city itself. Miyoung improving many aspects of daily life with enhancements to the network that allowed the Assembly to imprrove the city where needed with its reconstructors and use the power gathered for systems like the djinn allowing them to reconstruct using reverse entrophy.

- Structure Name: The Honeycomb
- Classification: Urban Districts
- Location: Atrisia
- Affiliation: Atrisian Commonwealth
- Accessibility: The Honeycomb Districts are the primary residential and commercial zones of Jar'Kai, designed for the daily life of its millions of citizens. The main thoroughfares, commercial plazas, and residential areas are all open for movement and commerce. This accessibility is a core part of its design, but it is built upon a framework of total security. Biometric checkpoints at tier transitions and infrastructure access points are standard. The extensive utility and tactical network beneath the streets is a restricted zone, accessible only to military patrols and engineering corps with specific clearance.
- Description: The Honeycomb Districts are the engineered urban fabric of Jar'Kai, a masterpiece of defensive urban planning where civic life and military readiness are fully integrated. The district is a multi-tiered, ziggurat-like structure of interlocked buildings, creating a strong, unified architectural mass. Rooftops serve as public plazas and gardens, all while ensuring clear sightlines to the central Spire. It is a city designed from the ground up to be a formidable defensive asset, where every street plan and public space has a defined tactical purpose. The wider streets and narrow alleyways serve as natural chokepoints as the defensive droids can be placed with barricades to reroute pathways. Defensive turrets in cross sections creating killboxes and advanced Assembly AI is developed there to monitor. With the various layers and levels of the city each looking like a natural part. Waterways and areas allowing jet racers and boats. The kazue stone of the city being used along with the jade wood paneling and glass. Giving the city a classic look ascetic wise but underlying architexture of incredibly advanced and reinforced design for resisting bombardment, fires and repairing itself. Further development of the aegis for the city and weaves allow the honeycomb to reinforce itself over and over.
- The Architectural Form & Layout: The district's design is a direct expression of its defensive doctrine. With multilayered defenses, alcoves with turrets, weapon and armor fabricators that are able to be accessed by citizens and Biots able to be activated with an Alert. A gridded multilevel setup allowing areas to be blocked off and barricaded while having clear firing lines from a level above and the high ground. Hibani scythes for grenades being thrown.
- The Tiers: The city is constructed in great, staggered levels, creating a terraced effect that maximizes space and provides structural stability. This design ensures that the upper levels of each tier have clear lines of sight for surveillance and defense, while also creating defined zones for different functions.
- The Street Network: The layout is a tactically engineered grid. Wide, straight Primary Thoroughfares allow for rapid military deployment and clear fields of fire for the Spire's defensive systems. These are intersected by narrower Secondary and Tertiary Lanes that create defensible chokepoints and quieter residential areas. Every major plaza is designed as a defensible strongpoint, with its architecture providing natural cover and concealment.
- Vertical Circulation: Movement between tiers is managed by a multi-layered system. Open, grand stairways and public lifts handle daily civilian traffic, while a separate, secured network of fortified stairwells and dedicated transit tubes allows for the rapid, unseen movement of security forces.
- Stratified Zones:The city's verticality creates distinct districts based on function and security level. With designs to make it feel like a living city from parks, recreation zones for the children and public gardens.
- The Upper Level (Upper Tiers): This zone houses the secured compounds of the political elite and the Offworlder Embassies. These are architecturally distinct, fortified enclaves protected by advanced security systems. The embassies, with their alien designs and direct hypergate links, function as highly secure nodes of interstellar diplomacy and trade.
- The Mid Level (Mid Tiers): This is the commercial and residential core of Jar'Kai. Here, the honeycomb structure is filled with bustling markets, workshops, and multi-story apartments. It is the vibrant center of daily life for the people, with all activity occurring within a framework of inherent order and structure.
- The Foundation Level (Lower Tiers & Waterways): The city's logistical and industrial base. This level integrates the canal network for transport, sport and trade, hosting fisheries, public docks, and warehousing. The architecture is more utilitarian, providing direct access to the industrial underbelly and the resource streams from the sea and underground rivers.
- The Infrastructure Grid: The true strength of the Districts lies in its hidden, resilient systems.
- The Sub-Level Network: Beneath the public streets lies a comprehensive grid of maintenance tunnels, utility conduits, and hardened troop passages. This network allows for the rapid redeployment of forces across the city and houses emergency bunkers, armories, and secure command posts.
- The Decentralized Power System: The district's shielding and critical systems are powered by a redundant and dispersed grid. System stations are integrated into the city's structure, often concealed within other buildings, in no-mans land, in Chitai or planetary back ups. The size of the kanamara make concealing it and having multiple in subcomb networks for overly redundant planetary generator back ups. They draw from diverse sources using hypertech such geothermal, hydro-kinetic, quantum, exotic, otherspace, zero point and solar creating a resilient network. The system is designed to automatically isolate damaged sections and reroute power, ensuring the city's defenses remain operational even under direct attack. With Ai networks able to switch the cities several hundred kanamara to off site stations in a game of whack a generator that keeps the power on.
- Miyoungs Network: Designed as a lab, testing bed and continued infrastructure means. Miyoungs lab operates with new models of many projects implemented in the cities and Kaikichi Project spheres. Allowing the use of energy and matter in ways that only require her thoughts as opposed to intense or timely construction efforts. Giving the city and her palace an edge few others can match. It along with her duplicators, fabricators and resource stations. The The MIYOUNG Intelligence Nexus has an access point here allowing her mind to produce in the city even if she isn't there and work with the AIs of Jar'kai.
