The Eyes of the Galaxy | SJO Invasion of the UCM's Azure Hex

Objective: Help the civvies, or fight the Jedi?
Equipment: Armor (Right Vibro-wristblade/Cable launcher and left Stun baton/Sedative injector gauntlets), DL-44 (Han's pistol)
Opponent: [member="Jerek Morrows"]

Laandur was ready to fight his target. He didn't know how this would go, but before he could continue the fight, a storm brewed. One that seemed to come from nowhere. The spy may not have been Force sensitive, but he knew when things weren't right, and this was one of those times. He looked over at [member="Jerek Morrows"], retracting his stun baton and vibroblade.

"Another time perhaps. There are bigger issues than fighting you jetii." Laandur then went to run off, heading to [member="Azure Djitred"] and [member="Tracyn Ordo"] . If he succeeded he would look up at her, hearing [member="Josh Dragonsflame"]. "Oh osik. I've heard of your own allies doing similarly dubious things, but that's not important right not." While he said that to himself, it was out load, which probably wasn't the best thing. "At least you can swallow pride and work with your enemy when the goal's the same." He then looked over, not sure what to do. He wasn't a medic or evac expert, so he looked to [member="Cynthia Solus"] . "What are your orders ma'am?!"

"You are brilliant, Master Dawnrider!" Nadi responded swiftly to cut off that path of argumentation. "Your writings on the nature of morality and the ways of the Force inspired me to join the Silver Jedi Order in the first place!" The missives had been devoured by a young Nadora. First one of their own had shown her that there was a way for a Nezumi to make their mark on the Galaxy. Then Mariel showed her how she could do it. Joining the Sith Empire never appealed to her. Those Too Bigs were Too Big. Too Big for themselves, Too Big for the Galaxy.

Always, constantly, destroying something in their wake. Their thirst to be seen as larger than they were? All-consuming. It didn't appeal to Nadi.

"Nobody is safe these days, Master Dawnrider. I believe I will be safer under your wing than elsewhere."

The idea that the wise and noble Songwing could be contemplating to eat her? No, impossible. It was frankly speciest of her to assume. Not every bird that looked predatory was one.

Those subtle shifts and twitches?

Obviously Mariel being concerned.

"I could offer a worse idea next time?" Nadi peeped up before following her in. Amused again. That had always been easy for her. While things were cramped for Mariel, it was spacious for the Nezumi. Well. It would be, if she hadn't been forced to duck her wings every so often. "Not sure, Master, the comms are silent on it." Having switched them on and off quickly. Still headache-y static. "It doesn't sound very nice though. Far more alarming than the first one. Whatever it is, it can't be good, can it?" They came up to a split in the maintenance passage.

That's when it crept up onto the Nezumi. Not the same way as with the bird. Not powerful enough in the Force for it, but... unmistakable. Whiskers quivering, fur rising up just a little bit. There was something dark going on down planetside. The Nezumi was very happy she wasn't there. That she was up in space, far away from.... whatever that was.

Nadi crawled under Mariel's wing to take a closer peek at the split in the passage. Yes. Just to take a closer look. It had nothing to do with the sense of dread pushing against her senses.

Nose tucked in the air as she tried to ignore it. Go back to scent. "Left... hmm." Her nose quivered. "Smells like oil, Master! I think that is to the reactor room.... or maybe the hangars??" They both agreed that that was distinctly not what they were after. Right was the only way forward. It brought them deeper into the ship. Here Nadi could smell... confusion.

"People are... were... afraid? I think? The smell is hazy. We are coming up to a lot of wiring though, getting a hint of a lot of copper."

Allies: Himself | UCM for now.

Objective: The usual.

Vizsla didn't feel anything of the dark miasma below them. Cut off from the Force. The old antidote still in effect for him. It didn't protect him, when someone tried to influence him through Battle Meditation, but he couldn't sense any better than a man could see through his blind eyes. Didn't feel the dark trying to push through his skin, nor the hope trying to inflame his heart. It was an old heart. Scabbed over many times. It didn't need a pick-me-up. Not to continue this, not to kill, not to move forward through the pain and fury.

It just... was.

He was about to kick her again.

Then hope inflicted Laira's heart. Rising up once more, trying to slash him through from below. This angle? Not possible to twist, to turn, all that Vizsla could do was dash her offending saber to the side with his axe. It crashed against the plasma. Sturdy beskar. Should have done the trick. Ronan didn't anticipate it growing hotter than a regular saber this time around though.

It managed to push it away.... and then it cut through his axe. Half of it dropping down, before the lightsaber continued its trajectory. Burning straight into the beskar near his hip and then through.

Ronan roared in pain.

A beast in pain? It did horrible things to evade that pain. The super-heated, cut end of the axe was raised up... and then Vizsla thrust it down. To impale Liara's throat. Then to leave her dying slowly. A part of Ronan knew that was foolish. Finish her, execute her and then move. But the pain in him demanded some sort of answer.

Punishment for the agony.

Location: Adjacent Island, Azure
Objective: Confront Praz
Allies: [member="Celiana"] (?)
Enemies: [member="Darth Prazutis"]

[youtube]https://youtu.be/VCLT0HNJLWw%5b/youtube%5d%5b/spoiler[/youtube]

Romi’s earlier conversation detailed their teams objectives on the next island over, thereby turning the keeping of the appointment into a final mission, and the island into a puzzle and likely a horror-house – considering who they were dealing with.

She etched a series of lines and whirls into the frame of a tree. She carved away with her vibro-knife until she felt satisfied that it matched the previous ones drawn earlier on two other adjacent trees.

Eventually she’d got on her way.

Having concealed herself by exerting no will at all on the currents of the Force, she moved lightly through the rookeries, and surefootedly through the dark and dank jungle brush. Crunching through expanses, she remained steadfast in her desire to hunt him down.

The last fifty meters of the trip required a dizzying fingertips-and-toes climb up a steep, crumbling sunset faced piece of high ground. Whatever native fauna was present was likely stirred up by the sudden change in weather patterns and energy. They passed over her head like shadows, crying and beating the air with their wings. But she remained invisible against the crumbling stone finishing her ascent.

It’d be extremely likely her opposition would never sense the Jedi, cloaked by the metaphysical energy she commanded, she’d vanished from the Force and returned to her finger being on the trigger of her pistol.

When Romi closed her eyes and began breathing in deep, slow waves, her presence became noted once more – if she hadn’t been discovered by the Sith Lord already...he was a Sith Lord

“You and you nephew are jerks…”

Location: Mandalorian Corvette
Objective: Make Ship go Boom

Laira did need those pick ups. She was young, idealistic, some would say naive and foolhardy. But she was still brave, trying everyday to be the hero she had always dreamed of admiring. Her saber slashed through the beskar, well, the Beskar gave way quicker than it usually did and dropped a piece of the axe to the floor, glowing red where it had intercepted her slash. She could hear his roar, feel his pain in the Force. He was about as mad as any being could be, like a bull that had just been yanked out of the stocks.

She grinned, it was mean spirited, but Laira knew she was beaten. At least she’d left him something to remember her by. She knew what came next.

The corridor thumped, a small bump like minor turbulence striking the ship.

He lifted his axe, leveling the glowing portion for her head or throat and thrust.

The corridor rocked at last, static arcing through the cieling and fire erupting around the reactor for an instant as her friends manage to strike the bulge with one of the ship’s turbolasers and damage the core. It wasn’t exploding, but everything had shifted. Her body lurched, the glowing axe stabbing into her left shoulder, thrown off by the sudden explosion.

She cried out, agony surging through her. The weapon was searing in her flesh, cutting and burning as it did.

But that wasn’t the end. She could see fluids spilling out from the reactor, some blue glow bursting from a small rupture in its containment seals.

zwIzcve.png

Leo racked the next burst, the whine from his weapon charging until it roared down the corridor again. “Where is she?” A hint of worry marked his grey, emotionless presence in the Force.

I don’t know, but she’s in terrible pain.” Saeza said, pulling herself up. Her leg was hurt, a blaster wound and cut to her calf. The Masquer was burned and fried, shriveled around the burn mark to reveal grey-blue skin beneath. The sephi held the wound, channeling some of her focus into it to numb the pain so she could still run normally.

Red, come in.” Leo said, she could still hear him over the unit comms, his garbled voice relaying hints of concern as emotion tweaked its way back into the otherwise impassive Death Trooper.

No response.

I’ll go get her. You take the ranger and get us a shuttle. I’ll radio once I’ve got her for you to meet us somewhere.” He barked orders, Saeza wanted to go with him to get her partner. Her friend, but he was right. Someone had to secure them a way off this corvette. Saeza nodded, turning back to grab the Ranger and help her down the corridor towards the small hangar in the ship’s belly. When she touched their last remaining comrade she could feel it. There was no life left in her body, having finally given into the pain and suffering and moved on. Still, Saeza wasn’t keen on leaving her behind for the Mandalorians and the Sith. She hefted the body up with the Force and jogged away, limping as she went.

Leo however took off at a sprint, darting around corners. He wasn’t checking for enemies, he wasn’t advancing from cover to cover. Just a dead sprint as fast as his legs could carry him, snapping off a burst of disruptor energy at anything that moved in his line of sight while he did so, boots striking the deck, ringing under the Death Trooper's haste.

<She’s got to be near the reactor. I’ll get to the ladders just before the core, then go up a level and grab her.>

[SIZE=9pt]Fiore raised an eyebrow as she was handed the small holoprojector, her ears twitched as Cardinam spoke about his small time with the Silvers. Like her, the man had odd jobs here and there. She pressed the button on the holoprojector and flipped through the faces that stared back at her. Trained eyes memorized the faces and the smaller assassin nodded. “Got it, shouldn’t be too hard.” Closing the projector, she moved past Cardinam and prepared.[/SIZE]

[SIZE=9pt]The Eldorai outfitted herself with a verpine shatter pistol and her two lightsabers. Finding her way into the area where Cardinam stated there was some special equipment, the girl found one of her favorites. The Verpine Sniper Rifle shined, showing its most recent cleaning and upkeep. Easily strapping the sniper to her back, she continued to dig. Grabbing a cloak she had used on previous missions, the baffleweave would protect her from being spotted easily. Already in her typical light armor, the baffleweave spun through it would also help her out as well.[/SIZE]

[SIZE=9pt]Already the assassin was a void to those using the force to scan the area, she was now going to be difficult to detect with other means such as sensors and weapon scanners. Wrapping the cloak around her and drawing up the hood, Fiore jumped and used the repulsors pack to guide herself down toward the surface. Once she was touched down, instincts went into high gear. The storm was brewing above them, and she praised whatever god she could for getting her through that mess. Using the landscape of the island to her advantage she moved quietly and undetected. Fiore had memorized the faces of the Jedi that were on her hit list. Her job before any of her work with Cardinam was a Jedi and Sith assassin. Trained in their ways, the former Jedi had her reasons. [/SIZE]

[SIZE=9pt]It didn’t take her long to find a group of tall trees. She was athletic and it didn’t take her long to get into the nest. The way the trees grew into each other provided a decent nesting and stabilizing area for the sniper. Using a pair of binoculars, she scanned the area. It didn’t take long to spot figures especially ones that she had been looking for. Fiore drew up the loaded sniper rifle. He moved with his lightsaber drawn, he was engaged already. The assassin mused and removed the safety of the sniper and continued to wait. Breathing slowed as she steadied the weapon. The Jedi paused for just a moment, a moment too long. It was her chance and her finger pulled the trigger and a shot was fired towards the temple of the Jedi [member="Coren Starchaser"]. [/SIZE]

[SIZE=9pt]She prepared another shot, seeing that more of her targets were in her sights.[/SIZE]

Master.

Her thoughts echoed through the Force, a soft whisper that would just reach Coren.

octavia-becoming-the-red-queen-the-100.gif

Ziost's wake still laid within her mind, and she wasn't sure what was worse. That - or her time at the Bastion of Ren, perhaps the latter since it was pure isolation for Force knew how long, a year? Two years? More? Time was something of a blur for her the whites of her eyes seemed to disappear into a sea of abyssal black. Whatever the Sith had done to her it wasn't for the better, if anything it made it that much harder to hang onto the light. She reminded herself that she could still hold onto her own and that this too would pass. The Silvers needed help to send a clear message to the Mandalorians, and there was no doubt in her mind that Coren would be at the heart of the fighting.

As she commandered transport, she felt another familiar presence in the Force. Romi. Romi had once been subjugated by the Sith, by Taeli Raaf herself. She pressed harder on the engine with a flick of her hand. The speeder bike roared across Azure and her focus was clear, mind concentrated on finding Coren - it was with this that she navigated the terrain. Shaking it off, hazel-green returned to the forefront and again she pressed a single word into the Force.

Master.

Had he seriously just done that?

Well, kriff. He had. Josh had done it again, he’d acted on impulse without thinking things through. But in a situation like this… It was okay to act on impulse once in awhile, wasn’t it? As his body exerted more strain while he tried to extend the barrier as far as he could, Josh couldn’t help but ask himself…

Couldn’t you be selfish for the first time in your life?

[member="Scherezade deWinter"] had made it clear — Josh’s life was not his to give away. It belonged to his son now, and making sure Jason would grow up right. In that moment, a little voice in his head told him… Let go. Get out of here. Go back to your son. Go back to Ra. Go back to your family and your friends. Why throw it away here? This was war. People died all the time, that was part of war. And the people he was protecting now might die tomorrow, and his efforts would be in vain. For once, that little voice pleaded… Please be selfish. Just once.

But he knew before that little voice finished speaking what his decision was. He refused.

Those people had families too. And he couldn’t go back to Jason knowing those people had died and he could have done something. How could he consider himself a father worth being proud of for Jason if he let this happen now? And he was just one life. One life… For hundreds.

At least, so long as it was his life.

If he went here, if he passed here, and he really didn’t know if he would or not…

That was what he realized he could feel people’s lives beginning to slip away as a result of the dark side attack. Outside of Josh’s barrier, people’s lives were beginning to be snuffed out. As begrudged as he was to admit it… He had done the right thing.

It was there he knew, he had no regrets. Jason had Ra and the Silver Jedi Order now. With them, he would grow up right. With them, he would grow up strong. Josh sometimes had wished he could just retire to the homestead and be… Normal. But he knew that one day, a moment like this would come along. One day, he would need to do the right thing.

This was the inevitable fate of all Jedi.

And he accepted that.

He had tried to live some semblance of a normal life off duty. He had started a family, lost a family… Started to build that family again. He knew one day soon he had wanted to propose to Ra. She… Made him happy, and she made Jason happy too. But Josh knew that he couldn’t escape this life. Not without changing who he was. He lived to help people, he knew that. And this was the time to do that. His duty had always been, and always would be… Until the day that he died, even if that was soon… To make sure that people would be able to have the opportunity to live the life that he wished he could have.

And he accepted that too.

But the more that he tried to extend the barrier, the more that he tried to singlehandedly counteract the Sith Magic, the more and more of a strain it put on his body. The Jedi Master let out a pained, bloodcurdling scream as the effects began to take their toll in full, and pain riddled his body in ways he couldn’t remember ever experiencing.

He was destroying his body, and he knew it.

Blood dripped down from his mouth as the strain was beginning to be too much to take alone. But he didn’t stop. He couldn’t stop. He wouldn’t stop. He absolutely refused to stop. Whether it was stubborn pride or just pure determination… He could feel people dying, and he refused to let it happen anymore. No matter what, he had to hold out. He had to keep going. Singlehandedly if he had to, he would keep this barrier going until the ritual ended.

But the strain was too great.

It hit him like a sun. His entire body began to shake and convulse as parts of the barrier began to break apart. The sith magic rocketed through these holes in his barrier here and there, and Josh could feel the casualties beginning to pile up. He began to seethe uncontrollably as he struggled with everything he had to keep the barrier up.

He hurt. Everything hurt. It hurt to breathe, it hurt to speak, it hurt to move. It hurt to keep levitating as he was. Holding the barrier with all of this strain made every little thing he did turn into the greateat pain he had ever endured. But none of that mattered.

But what did matter was that the barrier was faltering. Josh Dragonsflame was one of the most experienced Jedi around, he had seen hundreds, thousands of battles, taught hundreds of students and had watched republics, orders and empires rise and fall time, and time again. He had risen from under the guidance of the most powerful of Jedi from Ben Watts to Darren Wraith, to guide the Jedi of the future, and stuck around into the eras of Corvus Raaf, of Coci Heavenshield, and now the current era of the Silver Jedi Order under the watch of the Silver Assembly. He had been Battlemaster over and over, Master of the Order, Grandmaster, everything under the sun…

But he was just one man.

One man who was very, very human. One man with a very mortal and very destructible body. People made it out as though Jedi were not people, that they were forces of nature, but they were very much human. They were very much people. People willing to give up everything for others, yes, and powerful people at that… But still people. Yet he didn’t care. If he destroyed himself to save hundreds, if he had to lose his life to create a safe haven for people to escape from? So be it. Deep down he was kicking himself, he knew, and he kicked himself every painful moment, but he was going to hold.

But one thing that was happening was that the barrier was beginning to gap, and the storm that had risen was killing people within. And Josh couldn’t stop it. The weaker his body got, the more gaps that began to appear in the barrier. Until eventually he would collapse and the barrier would with him.

He couldn’t stop that from happening. But he was damn well going to try.

Gritting his teeth, the Jedi Master clenched his fists as he recommitted himself to this fight. His eyes reflected the color of gold from the light in front of him, as he put everything into trying to put together the barrier, resisting the overwhelming urge to vomit the blood that had welled up in his throat and into his mouth. But the pain was getting to be too much, and he knew that his body was failing him. His body was weakening by the second, he could feel it. And the more his body weakened, the worse their situation would be. He couldn’t let that happen, he couldn’t!

“Come on, come on…” He growled against the force of the strain. “Come on, COME ON!” He screamed at the top of his lungs as he fought the pain and the strain of it for as long as he could, hell bent on keeping up this fight for as long as possible.

Setter glanced outwards, then behind him. He caught Amon's face as he disappeared further into the ship, enveloped by the closing door. Like a book closing, that part of his story was over. There wasn't much left now, only the end.

Setter turned his head to the Mandalorians that came. But one stood out, even among the giant brutes that were stampeding towards him. He'd been told about him. Cuyan. He'd heard of him. Of his britishness. Of his ferocity and brutality. Briefs and intelligence reports didn't do him justice. He swatted away a wayward Mandalorian as he walked to Setter, axes gripped tight. He could hear his heavy breaths, feel that anger. Feel that rage. He knew it. He understood it. He knew one thing better to-

How to exploit it.

He swung the axe down at Setter. Setter moved backwards, letting the axe fall to the floor. He was an angry man. He was a brute. He was a lot of things to a lot of people.

And to Setter, stupid was one of them.

Setter Ryburn was the last person in the galaxy you wanted to be in close proximity with. He began to mercilessly assault the leader, giving the rest of his warriors a pause as their leader was brutalized by a man of average height. His suit whirred as he punched the daylights out of the man, catching him in the armored jaw. His phrik gauntlets gave Beskar a run for the money. But he knew that Beskar was tough. But physics was physics and nothing could stop kinetic energy and concussive damage. Setter hit him six times in the face in less than two seconds, just a hair after he swung his axe at him first. Setter backed up, letting the enraged brute scream at him. He swung again, and found purchase in Setter's bicep. The axe dug into his phrik, and into his bicep. The chainsaw effect was negated by Setter's armor. He watched as the other plate armor adorned Mandalorians began to advance. Their fascination with Setter as an adversary was overtaken by their bloodlust. They were coming for him. He looked at the axe in his right arm, gritting his teeth. His arm was going numb. He dropped his knife-

Into his other hand.

Cuyan had a very open design of his armor around the neck. Presumably to turn his head. Setter dug the knife into his neck. No armor there. He felt Cuyan's life drain as he twisted the blade.

He felt the impact of another Axe across his chest, throwing him backwards. Opening up his chest. It was hard to breathe, on top of the searing pain. No coming back from that one.

But that was okay. Things would be fine.

He rolled to his stomach, feeling the heavy footsteps of the brutes. They were less than thrilled about Cuyan dying- but they were brutes, berserkers. Not professionals. Didn't check him right away. They were delaying the kill. Taking stock of their prize. Laughing. Applauding themselves.

Click.

Setter was bleeding out. From his face, his chest. His arm. Must've hit an artery. Needed to move fast. Hands were shaky.

Click.

Setter would miss a lot things.

Click.

He would regret not taking Romi out on at least a date.

Click.

He would regret not seeing his ex wife at least one more time. Wondering how she was doing. If she was okay. The love was gone- but he always cared. Always would.

Click.

He'd miss the Republic, the Silver Jedi, the friends and bonds he made. He wouldn't get to see Task Force Raider grow and prosper. But he felt confident with the kid.

The smoke had cleared. He rolled onto his stomach as he felt the last brute approach, flanked by his comrades. They encircled him, laughing, axes prepared to claim their kill.

Setter started to laugh.

He held up the last thermal detonator. It made a distinct sound when activated.

Click.

He looked up, smirking through his cracked helmet. Blood obscured his vision. But never his purpose. The Mandalorian saw the grenade in his hand, and the pressed ones on his armor.

"Who's laughing now mother fu-"

He went out like he lived.

Fire and death.

Kyrel must have been insane that he was charging towards the Jedi. Pulling out his shotgun in hand, and the lightsaber he took with him, he gave it a quick flick of the wrist, and the green blade snapped open with a hiss, it had been years since he had seen the blade. Not since when he joined the Knights of Ren years ago. It was his mother's own blade now it seemed ironic that he would use it as part of his disguise. He was now preparing to meet his Jedi Adversaries with the heart and mind of a warrior, like he had done in battle and years past, ever since the ruined fields of Kaeshana and now he would do so here.

With his faithful soldier not far behind, eagerly moving up ahead to engage the woman and the likes of Starchaser. He was confidant that her training and experience could handle Jedi. While he charged towards what base they would have to set up, he felt a surge of dark side energy. The sky was black, lightning and thunder crackled, the wind whipped in a frenzy, he felt empowered as if the dark side had come to this world to smite the bugs that were the Jedi, how he could not say, but used it to his advantage.

Soon he attempted to gain a foothold, trying to drive them back, firing several shells of his shotgun designed to deal with the Jedi at close quarters, bang, bang, bang, with each action a shell casing popped out, as he aimed it for Starchaser first, hoping to get him off balance the shots were going at super sonic speeds, enough to at least keep him off balance while his soldier could move in for the kill. But for a moment he looked away sensing that another Jedi was approaching, one he perhaps had not encountered before.

With the force of darktroopers and Vanessa's bloodtrooper guard, Vanessa herself wearing a suit of bloodtrooper armor sans helmet, the engagement against the SJO and their allies. With the larger Oppressor-class Dark Troopers engaging targets with their heavy repeating blasters, the bloodtroopers utilized their emulated Force powers in concert with their lightsabers to engage the military forces of the Silver Jedi. These forces, more conventional armed soldiers, were being regularly engaged by their Sith counterparts - and the end result was significant casualties. The shields of the Darktroopers were proving unsurprisingly useful against the enemy forces.

The goal of Vanessa was quite close to her intended goals - those being to meet up with Cardinam in order to more adequately coordinate a defense of this planet. There were few people within the Mandalorian sphere of influence that Vanessa had not interacted with before, and Cardinam was most certainly one of them. This was going to be quite an interesting experience, to say the least.

"You will not be detained any longer than necessary to ensure your safety." Neither option the man had offered sat well with the Jedi Master he'd spoke to. They obviously had a preconception of being 'the enemy' to the Jedi. To add to what Master Arenais said, she stepped forward and extended her hand to Pyck. "I am Master Lucera Maive. I will ensure you and your people are returned to their homes, or I will help them relocate if their homes have been damaged in the fighting. You can also be assured I will tend to any mistreatment you feel you may receive in my absence." Yes, she was handing out lofty expectations, but such was her expectation of the Jedi Order itself. They were not monsters despite what some believed. And there was no reasonable explanation for any mistreatment to occur.

Lucera gestured toward the first ship to help usher people to safety with a smile on her lips. There was no need to force these people anywhere. If they chose to stay that was their decision, but she truly hoped they would not. There was no telling what...

Arenais' words followed a terrible foreboding feeling that crept up Lucera's back. "Yes." The smile slipped into a flat expression as she turned her eyes in the direction of the coming storm. "We should hurry." The evacuation would need to move swiftly, but more than that she already foresaw a great ordeal ahead. The reason she had waited in the hanger long after so many had departed. The future was always in motion, one sage had written long, long ago. There were few guarantees, except that this storm would have dire consequences left unchecked.

Gir peered out of the shuttle's bulbous canopy into the endless void, watching hundreds of vibrantly colored beams flash back and forth between the Nu Draar Tugyc("Never Again") and the Silver Tide. The amount of energy being flung around seemed terrifying to think about:the power in a single turbolaser bolt in the exchange could probably power a small city for a day. With all of the bolts flying around, it seemed likely to Gir that they could probably spend the same amount of energy to power entire civilizations for days at end, but here they were intent on using that same energy for destruction. In crossing the "T", the Never Again was able to bring considerable firepower upon the Tide, but by virtue of that same approach, the Tide was able to concentrate its legendary Mon Calamari-sourced shields on its relatively small bow section, making them dense enough that fewer shots were getting through to the hull itself. Ariela abruptly steered brought the craft in a steep climb, narrowly avoiding a salvo of shots from the Never Again that seemed aimed at the assault shuttles that the Tide has just launched. While relatively small targets for the capital guns of the Never Again, the sheer volume of fire from the Mandalorian super star destroyer seemed to be taking their toll on the support craft. One such unfortunate craft exploded several hundred meters away from there, blossoming into shards of superheated metal and shimmering gases; the stealth shuttle veered hard once again, this time to the starboard before gliding into a small auxiliary hangar in the vessel's stern.

"Commodore Tierson has got the enemy right where he wants them, you know," said blonde man with a wan smile as he hit a button that lowered the shuttle's ramp.

The two briskly began to stroll down to where an executive rail tram car awaited them.

Ariela's face briefly flickered with confusion as they entered the vehicle, "Taking a pounding from an enemy?"

The car lurched into motion, taking the pair towards the vessel's command station.

"For the moment," said the admiral, "but that's part of the risk with conducting such maneuvers. It's the end game that matters more. You'll see."

Running lights flashed by them, and they briefly caught a glimpse of a patrol of Antarian Shock Marines mustering into another rail car for their own imminent battle. I wonder how the Shock Marines on the Terror are doing. He knew that they were only droids, yet their mere semblance to human form sometimes made him think of them as being more human than other droids. A mixture of pride and regret flooded his mind at that thought. Doubtlessly more synthetic soldiers would have to be built to fill their fallen brethren's place once the battle was done. The car came to an abrupt stop and the two suddenly found themselves in the nerve center of the Silver Tide. The two passed through an entryway flanked by a pair of shock marines before entering the amphitheatre-like bridge of the Tide. Tierson, a towering man from Corellia, leaned over the bridge's central holo-projector and constantly drummed his fingers on the projector's railing. Upon seeing them, the commodore offered a subdued smile and beckoned them over to view the battle.

"And you're just in time."

The admiral turned his eyes onto the holo-projector. The Tide had surged forward, using its great speed to rapidly close distance between itself and the Never Again, but rather than take a direct course to the Again's midsection, the Tide traveled along a slight curve to its trajectory, taking to behind the Never Again's stern. As the Tide passed by the Never Again's stern, it unleashed a thunderous volley, attempting to punch through the Mandalorian shields and hit at its vulnerable engines. Tierson offered a brief smile as the Tide finished passing by the Again's stern..

"It seems to be more heavily armed than the Tide. I don't think we can win in a straight up slugging match."

"So what do you do?"

"Vanish."

With that, weapons fire from the ship ceased and the Silver Tide vanished as it activated its module's stygium cloaking device. The ship's gravitic amplitude modulators spooled up, helping to mask the ship's gravity signature. Now disguised, the ship altered its course and speed to take it on a new heading. But the Tide's cloaking wasn't perfect, and despite the massive amounts of sensor jamming, a sensor scan of the surrounding area would suggest three likely locations of the ship.

Infinity Walks By My Side
As the first wave of mines cleared, she threw yet another grenade, further in probably disabling more mines. However, as they marched, there were some cleverly hidden ones the exploded as they got close. A couple of B1's that were too close to the front got fried almost immediately. While their duraplast could protect them from some of the blast, it couldn't stop the more sensative droid brain from getting shorted. While her armor was very good against EMP attacks, even it had some issues. The hud flashed “Sensors Restarting”. For a moment, she was technologically blind. However, the force was always with her. She allowed her anger to fill her, and flood her body as the brave marines came from behind, and the turrets opened up from the front, she smirked. “That is a damned good pincer manuvere.” Her lightsaber slashed out to deflect the turret blasts back at them. Several of her droids fell before they could turn and open fire on the marines from behind with their sonic blasters. Allya gritted her teeth as rage filled her body, utilizing the dark side like a weapon, she lifted the two brain dead B1's and shot them forward with a strong gust of telekinesis against the turrets. Quickly while she had a brief moment of time, she pushed a button on her wrist, and the two exploded from the internal thermal detonators. With luck they would shred the turrets and doors, with their five meter spheres of nothingness.

When done, her body tensed, and energy filled her. Wrapping the force around her, she utilized it to increase her speed and to launch herself at the marines like a deadly missile. Saber flashed, and slashed as she aimed for the joints once more. Her blaster shot out deadly waves of sonic energy, enough to turn the internal organs of the soldiers to jelly. Lightsaber was both attack and defense, and her blaster worked similarly. The Phrik blaster was used to block a couple blaster bolts as well. Together with her droids, she pushed back the attack with heavy losses and attempted to leave nothing standing in their way. When she managed to cut them down, a soft whisper was heard in the cooridor. Ni su'cuyi, gar kyr'adyc, ni partayli, gar darasuum.” She didn't know their names so left it off. After, the girl took an EMP grenade, activated it, and shot it with another telekinetic burst behind her back at the door the explosives had opened, into the room with Adenn and his soldiers. As it clunk to the floor, the warrior marched towards the door. After it exploded, she walked confidently into the room, saber glowing brightly. “Su'cuy!” Her voice filtered through the helmet towards the people in the room, fully ready to fight. Her droids had a good percentage of them taken out with this trick, and she approved, being a follower of Hod Har'an. This was a battle for life and death, with both feeling they were in the right, after all. Only victory would be able to decide whose cause was more worthy.

On the outside of the ship, the buzz droids swarmed over the comm and sensor arrays, and began to hack and saw at anything they possibly could on them. Their plasma torches melted anything it could get to. Inside, while many of the droids were fought back and destroyed, the rest continued to run away from the mandalorians and broke everything from refreshers, allowing water to pool on the floor, to computer terminals. A handful even began to try and attack the shield generators. Now, it was a hilarious sight, the two attempting to cut through as many computer systems and power cables as they could....while running for dear life from the hordes of crew members trying to kill them. Their little buzz saws whirled like mad as they let our high pitched electronic screams.

The virus kept attempting to fight back. It infected every file it could get, and every console that it could. While the humans managed to push it back, it counter attacked. Back doors, trying to infect the very consoles used to fight it. At the very least, it kept the crew members busy as they tried to fight it back, making it a little easier for the various invasions of the ship to happen.

There was a war on, and Coren couldn’t do much to get to the large feeling of darkness that was overwhelming the area. He had other things on his mind. Forcebreaker grenades, a sniper, and then the Sith coming. What were they doing here? He knew they worked with the Beskar Baddies but he wasn’t sure just how that would end up. What he was feeling, there was darkness out there, darkness and light moving to greet it. He could feel others around him, ready to push the fight, but he was more shocked of the light he was feeling.

The Forcebreaker grenades were a challenge. But with the skillset that he and Romi had, and their ability to work together? He needed to keep the gas away from him and his team to ensue that he wasn’t about to lose sight of everything, lose the Force, and the step he had to assisting everyone. Shaking his head, he knew what needed to be done, but one of his Pathfinders had already knocked Starchaser down to the ground. The Pathfinder seeing the First Order soldiers moving, but the gas was still there, and the shockwave from the trooper were throwing them both.

It was pulling him away from the threat of the other shots but he shook his head. Grabbing his comm as the shock finished, he could feel the darkness, and sent out a blast of bravery in the Force, to inspire his companions, and called on the comms.

“Sith are doing something. We need to move. Now!” He knew what it was, but they needed to get ships offworld, he just didn’t have a clear view of what it was, just… a feeling. He was in the direct line of fire. But with those Sith? And the guns?

He needed backup, but he knew others needed it just as badly.

Kay breathed an inward sigh of relief. Although she knew that [member="Veiere Arenais"] was quite upset with her, at least he was giving her a way out. That is if no one recognized her.

The order that he gave, telling her that she was never there, gave her the inclination that breathing word of it to anyone would cause him harm?, moreso in reputation than anything else. Surely she had done enough of that already...

Given that Veiere turned and walked away, Kay looked her her shoulder to her guards. "Let's stay with the citizens here. You won't see me or feel me, but I'll be with you." And with that she put on her helmet and activated her personal cloaking device, disappearing from view.

She followed Veiere, approaching the crowds that stood near [member="Lucera Maive"] . Already the people began heading into the transport. But the sudden wave of darkness hit her hard, giving her a sinking feeling in the pit of her stomach. Kay didn't bother to reach out to Veiere, telling him to be careful as she knew he was going to do his duty and confront the Sith. Instead she shrunk her Force signature down to that of a small tree nut and made her way inside the transport, unseen and unfelt. This was the only way to keep both herself and Veiere out of trouble. At least the Silver Order fleet would let them through.

The head of the serpent… Scherezade blinked, looking forward into the smile. Kaine Australis. While she had indeed hoped that they would find him on the ship, she had not expected it to be so fast… Or so easy. Part of her wanted to jump straight at where [member="Amon Vizsla"] was pointing and bring all her pretty knives out to play, but every other part of her, despite not being attuned to the Force at present, screamed that this was a clever trap.

But to hear that he was someone's kill… The Sith frowned. No one had mentioned that to her before now, and every bit in her body wanted to scream that no, the man was hers to behead so that she could bring his head back to the Vicelord, to toss it at his feet so that they could consider all the mess that was the result of her hacking into the Confederate datafiles changing them before she killed herself as something that was done and resolved.

No. He was hers.

The remaining man with her screamed, but Scherezade just shrugged. Perhaps it was cold, perhaps it was heartless, but she had no special care to that man, nor to the one that was still with her. They weren't her charges, they were Mandalorians that she did not know, and while she wasn't allowed to kill them, she wasn't going to do anything out of the ordinary to save them when they clearly wished to commit suicide either.

Shaking her head, Vizsla decided to take point. Looked like they were going to pair to make it to that bridge. That was perfectly fine with her. While others served as meat offerings to the droids, more than enough of them still shooting, it gave them a way to put distance between the two sides. Fine by her.

With no more words to waste, the two set off. The pew's from the droids had come to a stop now, but Scherezade had zero intentions of going back right there and then to check if they were completely destroyed. The further they were getting away, the better she felt, and at one point the Force began to tangibly flow through her again and she moaned in pleasure as everything about her felt like her again.

The nearer the two of them were getting to the bridge, the slower they moved forward. Checking, scanning, feeling forward, always making sure that they weren't just running stupidly into avoidable danger.

At one point, they stumbled into one of the Caldera people. The fight to get past him was hard fought, and while she and [member="Amon Vizsla"] put him out, Scherezade had been unable to come out of it unscathed; her thigh was bleeding, a long cut from the thing's axe having somehow managed to cut through her armor. Perhaps, she thought, it was a weakened spot due to the sheer amount of bullets she'd gotten there. She prayed to the Force that this was indeed the reason, and that she wasn't about to spend time figuring out what those damned things were made of in the first place.

And always, always, she was feeling forward with the Force, trying to reach and check whatever may be there.

The final bits, through the maintenance shaft, had her moaning and groaning. She hoped there was no one on board who was like her – a Blood Hound – since her bleeding all over the damned place would give so much information away. She'd have to pack first aid kits into one of the pockets on her armor before the next time she did something like that.

Moments later, and the doors to the bridge exploded thanks to the courtesy of a few well-placed grenades, and [member="Scherezade deWinter"] and [member="Amon Vizsla"] made their grand entrance.

Scherezade already had her Dissuader K-30 Pistol with Glitter Bullets ready to fire.

THE BRIDGE OF TERROR AUSTRALIS

Amon had ordered everyone remaining from Task Force Raider to secure a makeshift LZ somewhere below the deck of the bridge leaving him and their CIS ally Scherezade to head to the bridge and decommission the ship in some way.

There was a dreadful feeling both in the air and in his gut as they stalked through the maintenance corridors towards the bridge with only the red emergency lights guiding their way. One wayward Caldera monster had gotten into their way and Scherezade took the brunt of it, while Amon got away with a cracked shoulderpad and painful blunt wound on his chest. The feeling did not end with the demise of the heavy armored Caldera killer, it crept on as they reached the bridge.

The two remained silent even when they entered the silent and abandoned bridge. From it one could observe the grotesque picture of war. Explosions, storms of turbolaser fire, destruction, death, demise - all of it lingering in complete contrast to the otherwise rather harmonic and peaceful blue orb beneath them that was Azure. It took him just a moment to grasp back at reality.

"I will try to...see if I can decommission this ship." Amon said to the Sith as he hurried to the command chair where various controls were. He wasn't exactly sure if he could actually manage it nor would he find out.

If you want the Infernal, you have to go through me.

A chill ran through his spine. A chill along with all the memories flooding his mind once more. The Red Coronation and the death of his sister, the Exodus of Clan Vizsla, the sacrifice of Setter Ryburn. It all stemmed from the mention of the name Infernal and from the voice he knew could only belong to one man.

"Kaine Australis..." Amon finally turned to face the man who donned a massive armor he had never seen before. A blade rich in jewelry and craftsmanship as it was in killing. He did not expect that sight but the vengeance fueling through his veins prevented him from flinching.

He stood there just watching the behemoth not finding any words nor were there any words to be found, in all fairness. Mandalorians spoke through action far more than through words.

The war disappeared.

The battle disappeared.

Task Force Raider disappeared.

Scherezade disappeared.

Somewhere in his mind he saw the image of Setter Ryburn and beside him that of his sister.

"FOR CLAN VIZSLA!"

"FOR SETTER RYBURN AND TAMARA WREN!!"
With Setter's personal weapon magnetically clasped on his back and the darksaber igniting into a vengeful color of black, Amon Vizsla charged forward at the man aiming to deliver a series of hard and strong slashes at him.

Location: Aboard the Terror Australius
Objective: Proceed to Bridge, assure safe extraction of Silver forces

The assault pod rocked slightly as it plummeted through space towards the Terror Australis, diverting course slightly be sure they came at an angle clear of the fray. Outside the minimal viewports of their assault pod, Valkren could make out the light show of a battle that was taking place over Azure.

The rangers onboard the pod carried a mixture of armaments, ranging from personal blaster cannons, ‘Stormshard’ ripper rifles, and a variety of holdout options for sidearms and secondaries. The team leaders such as Valkren each came equipped with a personal shield system, while the specialists carried thermal detonator packs. Aside from that, the rangers in Valkren’s unit carried the usual utilities in pouches and slots overtop their Katarn plating.

It didn’t take long for the commander to receive a response, but to Valkren’s surprise, it wasn’t Setter’s voice on the other line.

Commander Calderon’s face scrunched behind his visor when he heard the ‘change of plans’ listed from Amon.

“Task force Raider, Calderon: Can you repeat your last? Are you redirecting to the bridge?”

Valkren took a glance out the viewport once more, glancing at the destruction that was the Terror. He’d look forward again while continuing the transmission.

“Raider, I advise an immediate evacuation of your people. That boat won’t last much-”

“Everyone Brace!” And just like that, the lights within the pod flickered as the transport collided with the hull after a brief use of rear thrusters. The pod latched into place, and the cutting began.

Valkren grunted as he pulled himself to his feet, spinning a gloved finger in the air to be sure that all the rangers were on the move. He lodged the butt of his own ripper rifle into his plating, maneuvering his way to the front of the pod.

“I need two bodies, shields up front!” Just like that, two armor-clad rangers moved forward, lifting their rifles slightly above their normal positions and flashing alive two round personal shield devices.

Valkren gripped his weapon tightly, glancing behind him at the file of soldiers ready to flood into the corridor they had latched into. He’d glance towards, Lowder, then Harris, then over to Osmari. After a quick handful of head nods, he’d turn his helmet back forward, waiting a moment while the cutting went on.

Eventually, an entrance was made and the lead two rangers stepped through a still freshly cut opening, going the opposite way in the corridor and allowing Valkren to come out next. The fourth and fifth out of their own boat were larger rangers hauling personal blaster cannons to cover either direction. Valkren gave a quick scan around, the barrel of his rifle following his eyes as they moved about either side of the corridors. While the rest of the rangers piled out and took positions, the commander went to his communications once more.

“Specialist Lowder, take some shooters and rendezvous with the warthog. Be sure they can still fly and report back. I don’t know how many of our people are still alive, but we’ll need more than just our pod to get them all home."

After a brief turn to look down the opposite hallway, he’d continue-

“Harris. Keep the rest of the men and secure the immediate area. We’ll need a way out for sure. Osmari, Clark, Patrick, and Rivera with me.”

Valkren would walk beyond the shields on one side, accessing his communications one last time.

“Concord, show us moving to the bridge to rendezvous with Task Force Raider”

[SIZE=9pt]The storm brewed over head and Fiore looked up every so often to see it. It as a mess and she could quickly tell that it wasn’t manifested by the climate of the planet. Always a show of force from the Sith, either way she ignored it for the time being. The focus for her was the hit list, above all else it was her mission. Looking down the scope, she watched as the Jedi was saved by a miracle in the ways of his subordinate. With a groan she shook her head, how lucky he was. [/SIZE]

[SIZE=9pt]Still she was prepared to fire more shots and take him out. He wouldn’t be leaving the planet of Azure, Fiore would make sure of it. They’re shouting something, I can’t make full sense of what it is, beyond – Sith and doing something.” Pausing, Fiore figured it was the storm. “Probably the weather change.” Tapping quickly the coordinates, she sent them to her partner. “There’s one who’s in charge and another straining himself to do something.” Fiore focused on the blonde one, he seemed to be occupied with what he was doing to notice a shot being fired. Might be a good opportunity for her. Deciding against it, she moved from her small nest and changed positions. If she couldn’t get the Jedi from that point, it would be better to try another angle.
