To make small adjustments was a sign of fundamentals, at the very least- unlike many of the whelps he saw recklessly swinging their blades in hopes of brute forcing victories. Still, it would take far more than such to overcome the challenge of which he posed. His momentum could not be halted so easily, so utterly against that which held but the weight of an arm. Rather, it simply shifted.

The crusader was left with little choice but to redirect the blow with what he could—the upper half of his haft again meeting with the blade as his torso slightly tilted backwards, the opposing end being brought forward with but a levering motion. He could not attempt to weave the blow as he normally did, for the terrain was far too treacherous, and he was more liable to attempt to motion directly off the edge. Lips thinned beneath the helm as sparks cast into the darkened heights they fought amongst, narrowly catching the crimson blade against the plates of armor with a grit of teeth from the blow. Had he been a less cautious fighter, that may well have been an opening that saw his arm severed.

In the push of his weapon’s upper half forward, the bladed edge came to bear directly towards his opponent’s shoulder and neck, a step taken backward with the strike received to create a measure of distance with the attack. A delicate dance, this one would have to be.

Immediately following, there had been a wrench downwards in a thrust—attempting to leverage the pointed end into an impalement aimed for the gut.

The shift in Carduul's weapon was subtle, but Canm understood its purpose the moment the opposing end rose toward his shoulder. The Mandalorian was not going to contest the strength of his blows directly but turn that strength against him, using the length of the haft to redirect the crimson blade while bringing its other edge into play.

The Weequay was forced to bring his shoulder inward and twist with the motion, refusing to let the bladed end catch him cleanly across the neck. The movement spared him from the worst of the strike but it carried him dangerously close to the edge of the rusted pipe beneath them. The Mandalorian then went for a downward thrust that left him little room to recover his footing without meeting the point head-on.

With a frustrated growl, his boots lost grip on the pipe as he dropped below the descending weapon as Canm quickly grabbed a nearby conduit with his free hand as he fell. His body swung beneath it, the sudden weight causing the old structure to creak, but he used the momentum to swing one leg over the pipe and secure himself underneath it.

The crimson blade vanished with a hiss, its hilt remaining clenched in his other hand. Canm released his grip once his legs secured him. Anger gathered in his open palm, as blue light crawled between his fingers before erupting upward in a violent stream of Force lightning, the branching arcs racing toward Carduul Akahl Carduul Akahl across the narrow distance between them.

The feint worked. Yuri pressed on as his grappling line failed to find purchase, just as he suspected would happen. He wanted to bait the Acolyte, let the scoundrel engage where he was comfortable. His jump boots came online to help him fight the powerful blast that threatened to send him reeling while his own flames pushed back to heat his armour up.

His vision modes shifted for an unobstructed view of his enemy through the flames, waiting for him to make his move.

The Sith finally moved, blade extended forward as he launched toward the Hound who waited for his moment. He didn’t believe for a moment that the scoundrel would commit to the strike, he was certainly not dumb enough to think that one swing of his blade would be enough.

The Hound shifted. One arm shifted to intercept the blade against his vambrace while the other fired his Repulsor to knock his enemy off balance. All in an effort to conceal his goal. His knees sparked as rocket darts shot forward and his boots unleashed a small volley of Whistling Birds all aimed at his limbs and back. The Sith wasn’t going to get a dignified death, he would suffer.

Between the attacks and the shift of his legs, Yuri shifted backward to steer clear of the Sith’s blade once again. Close enough to be a problem, far enough to stay out of range. The Hound was expending a bunch of ammunition, but his adversary would likely feel the strain of the fight a lot sooner. War was holstered, Peace still had ammunition, Yuri stayed sharp to dodge or overwhelm the wounded animal if needed.

”I’ve fought Jedi more dangerous than you. Nothin’ but hot air.” He taunted the Sith.

"Shy, much?"

"Ah, shut it," Siv muttered under his breath as Rook rocketed away, still focused on blasting away the last of the light fixtures. He doubted the old Bounty Hunter would hear, though that's what they had comms for. The last of the lights shattered, plunging the cavernous casino floor into semi-darkness. Only the scant glow from scattered holo-projections and personal devices provided light, but they were only tiny blue beacons in a sea of darkness. Siv's HUD automatically shifted to night visuals, using active-infrared sensors to render visuals. Colors were muted, but Siv could at least see.

Calling the scene before the blackout chaos was an understatement now. Patrons, absolutely frightened out of their minds, floated around like a madhouse, many shrieking, others bellowing commands at unseen -- or nonexistent -- employees. Most who came to this casino tended towards the wealthy side of the economic spectrum, and as such were accustomed to much more comfortable conditions than these.

"Hm." He said to himself as he saw crimson-red lightning dance at Varanin's fingertips, their brightness even more pronounced against the darkness of their surroundings. He leveled his blaster at her, but hesitated to fire. He did not know yet whether the Sith knew his position.

Suddenly, he felt a gust of wind. Unnatural, here in this closed setting. Then he saw it, out of the corner of his vision. A storm of debris is picking up from all over the casino, spiraling to and past the Echani -- towards Siv and Vren. Was the Sith channeling them? Siv didn't have time to reason, only react. He raised his right arm and fired his grappling hook towards a nearby pillar, the whipcord hissing fast out of his gauntlet to wrap around the pillar. Heaving with all his might, Siv at once tightened the cord and levered the pillar's extreme mass relative to his own to pull him towards it, a feat only possible with their zero gravity. He tucked and raised his legs so that his feet immediately struck the pillar, his entire body compressing as his momentum was reduced to zero. The whipcord slackened and began mechanically to retract into his gauntlet; Siv was now looking up, his body horizontal to the ground.

He saw the cyborg repositioning herself, smartly using the kinetic propulsion of her blasters in a similar effect to his jetpack. "Cyborg on your six," he growled to Vren over comms. Nothing the old man could handle. Instead, he pushed off with both his feet in a path directly towards the Echani. He counted on his voidsteel-impregnated armor to mask him from the Sith's senses.

Suddenly, mid-air, that same Rodian in expensive vestments collided with him, entangling the Mandalorian. The Rodian was shouting a long string of Huttese expletives; Siv cursed in Mando'a, pushing the Rodian away from him and accidentally tearing the latter's fabric in the process. "E chu ta!" the Rodian spat as they tumbled towards another side of the room. Siv didn't spare a second more on him; his position was surely given away now, even as he neared the Echani.

What could’ve been a clean slice across the neck had regretfully been mitigated by his opponent. It was then, he had witnessed that tell-tale lull in combat. Like a wave moving with the waxing and waning of the moon, the momentum was now ripe for the taking. And take it, he did.

Carrying through the motion, he was intent to pursue his foe. As Canm dropped beneath the next swing, there had been a twist of grip so that stance would be pointed downwards. As his opponent recovered and re-found their position without toppling below, he had been intent to sever the first limb he saw clinging to the pipe from above.

Yet, the sudden crackle of electricity came too quickly for him to react in the heat of the moment.

Lightning. Surprisingly enough, this was not the first time he had dealt with such. Though, this was one far different than that- it was the intent behind it. This was no Jedi, wielding mere elements and placing them elsewhere- this was an opponent who no doubt wished him sincerely dead, and all his kin alongside. And it showed, wordlessly, the instant those crackling forks of energy made contact with his armor. There had been a pained groan hissed through teeth, his movement stiffening. Vision swam for a brief moment, and he did his utmost to push through. Had his armor not been environmentally shielded beneath- had he not been experienced in this particular brand of pain, he would no doubt have had a far harsher reaction. Instinct were relied upon as always- but his usual instincts were dampened in such an environment. A tight-knuckled grasp upon his weapon, he had swung erratically towards the Sith to halt the source of that pain.
In the attempt, his swing had been offset by the slight seize of movement. Instead of severing an arm or a leg, it cut cleanly into the pipe they both dueled upon, the harsh whine of metal being ruined as their ‘ground’ collapsed.

And so, he was airborne and sent plummeting. “Hah!” A rasp of a laugh escaped him, as he twisting mid-air. “Getting tired of bladework, wretch?” Two can match that. His arm raised as he plummeted, and a jet-fueled fwoosh brought the tell-tale technology back into the foray. In tandem with a jetpack activation, a wrist-rocket was fired towards the Sith who was undoubtedly either scrambling for new terrain, or briefly suspended just as he. As he shook off the remainder of the disorientation, he had come to a harsh landing against a new pipe- barely halting a complete crash with a shake of his head. He knew that would not be enough to kill his foe- it merely forced them to move. Through the smoke and debris, his polearm was prepared.

Without gravity to hold him, it felt like flying.

His saber cut a red streak through the darkened room. He'd committed to the attack. A forward thrust launched by a leap, and could no longer veer off course without help from the Force. Still, despite the risk, Calyx felt confident. Felt liberated.

The Hound didn't bother evading. He blocked with that beskar bracer of his, and sparks flew where the two collided. It was the first real contact they'd made.

Then the Mandalorian raised his other arm, but Calyx had seen that trick three times already. His carbonized leg, frozen only to the knee, shot out and kicked the second bracer aside, with a speed and power only the sweltering Dark-side within him could provide.

In immediate succession, his red blade extinguished with a flick of the switch. He tore one hand free of the hilt to seize the Mandalorian's blocking arm and used what momentum remained from his leap to vault himself over.

It was a terrible idea - his fingers nearly slipped.

But when his saber ignited again, it was with the emitter jabbed against the jetpack. He wanted to hold there, to maximize the damage, to continue upward and slip the blade between the gaps in the Hound's armor.

A dozen whistling flashes made him let go immediately. He shoved off the Mandalorian with his good leg and arms, the Whistling Birds in hot pursuit.

His hand clawed out, and several of the volley snuffed into puffs of smoke as the Force answered. His saber whirled to catch the rest, with mixed success.

When the whistling faded, blood dripped from his shoulder, and his shirt hung torn open at the back. Pain stabbed through him with every movement. Fuel, it seemed, for the Dark-side's fire within him. And as the drift carried him and the Mandalorian further apart again with each passing heartbeat, he couldn't even tell if his reckless stunt had evened the odds.

Gel barely had any time to reach to SL-0182 SL-0182 's attack.

Her first shot just barely missed him, causing him to turn toward the source of the sound he heard. Her second shot grazed his right arm, tearing through layers of fabric and metal as the projectile nicked Gel, leaving a nasty, albeit superficial, wound to his bicep. It was rather painful, and was likely to leave a nasty scar, but it wouldn't be enough to take Gel out of the fight just yet.

By this point, Gel tossed his Bev Shield as he activated his wrist mounted Variable Plasma Shield Gauntlet, projecting a large circle of hardended plasma in front of his body. It was a good thing that he did because SL-0182 SL-0182 's next to shots struck the shield right around chest height, and Gel sincerely doubted that his Mandalorian Jazerant would be enough to stop whatever it was that the assassin was shooting at him. Honestly, it was a good thing that the area around Gel was so quiet, because he was barely able to hear the sound of the projectiles that were coming out of the assassin's weapon. His helmet sesnors barely registered their firing as was, and had the environment been just slightly louder, Gel would have had no idea that the Sith was even firing at him in the first place.

But, he had heard her, if just barely, and now his full attention was focused on his adversary. With blood trickling down his right arm, Gel charged forward, his Variable Plasma Shield Gauntlet set to its standard "medium" setting, giving Gel a good balance of protection and shield battery life before he would be forced to shut off the gauntlet. In his right hand he had Akalenedat aloft, ready to bash in the head of his would be attacker, and the Mandalorian Lanvarok was reloaded and ready to fire, though doing so as Gel both ran forward and hide behind his shield would have been extremely difficult, which is why he elected to hold off on doing so until he got closer.

Though that being said, Gel was intending to get into melee range of his opponent, with his first swing being directed at the weapon that the assassin was holding, and the next one at her head. The quicker Gel could end this, the quicker he could get to his evac site, and the quicker he could get off this miserable planet!

Bellowing with rage, Gel ran toward SL-0182 SL-0182 as fast as he could while hiding behind his shield, ready to unleash some devestatingly leathal strikes against her!

Canm had no chance to enjoy the pain that surged through Carduul Akahl Carduul Akahl as the polearm struck the conduit above him. The old metal let out a loud screech as it broke apart, causing his footing to give way into the abyss below. The Weequay let go of the pipe just in time to avoid being pulled down with it.

The Force warned him of the rocket a moment before its flame cut through the rising smoke, as Canm extended his open hand towards the damaged section of conduit between them. The metal twisted sideways into the rocket's path, providing him with only a rough shield against the approaching explosion.

Flames and debris filled the aqueduct as the blast hit the barrier, its power throwing him towards one of the lower pipes. He spun in the air and plunged his lightsaber into the rusted surface. The red blade carving a glowing line through the metal, slowing his fall and letting his feet grip the curved pipe below. Canm yanked the weapon out and balanced himself as smoke billowed around them.

"I never get tired of eliminating washed-up leaders..." he responded. His free hand gripped a piece of metal caught in the falling debris.

With a pull of the Force, Canm sent it flying through the smoke towards the machinery of Carduul's jetpack. He didn't wait to see if it struck as continued along the lower pipe, keeping his lightsaber close, looking through the rubble for the Mandalorian's next strike rather than providing him with another foolish opportunity.

KJARTAN HAMMER-HAND

Satisfaction welled up with the Hammer-Hand as the flat of his hammer found purchase, yet to her credit - Seris was able to recover and avoid his killing blow. She struck his wrist, throwing his attack off to the side. There was no pain in Kjartan’s expression, for his mechanical arm was strong and his nerve receptors turned off for this battle.

Then she put distance between them, slashing wildly to throw his companions off balance. The tip of her blade clipped one of them in a gap of his armor, causing him to shriek in pain as he dropped to one knee. Kjartan took advantage of the brief respite to catch his breath, his chest heaving in and out as his gaze remained fixed upon her.

It was then that she pulled out her trophy. His Hammer, the one his lost hand was gripping aboard The Spirit Breaker. She hefted it, and pointed it at the Warlord.

"You've gotten better." It wasn't mockery this time. It was approval. Her crimson eyes gleamed as she leveled the hammer toward Kjartan. "So have I.

“We shall see if the fates favour you.” Was his only reply. He regained his breath and assumed a ready position. He had pressed the attack upon her thus far, and could feel a shift as she readied herself. Had he gotten better, or merely learned restraint? For her part, it felt as though... as though she was enjoying this. “Show me what you can do with a Hammer, then.”

Seris looked down at the hammer in her grasp. It was magnificent. Heavy. Brutal. Completely wrong. She could feel that much immediately. Her lightsabers had always become extensions of thought. They darted wherever her mind wandered, every cut flowing naturally into the next until movement itself became instinct.

The hammer demanded commitment. Every swing asked to be finished. Every missed strike would carry her farther than she wanted. It was... inconvenient.

Which only made her grin wider. "We'll find out together." The words were spoken as much to the hammer as they were to Kjartan. Then she disappeared. The Force launched her across the canal in a blur of crimson and black, boots hammering against rusted beams before she committed fully to the leap. She came down directly before the Mandalorian warlord, momentum already carrying the massive weapon into motion.

The hammer descended with frightening speed. Not elegant. Not refined. Just overwhelmingly fast for something so large. It crashed toward Kjartan's shoulder with enough Force-enhanced strength to buckle durasteel if left unanswered. She immediately understood why he favored it. The impact alone could end fights.

But as the strike completed, Seris felt the weight continue to pull. Too slow. Too committed. She had to wrench the weapon back with both arms, muscles and the Force working together just to arrest its momentum before it carried her completely out of position.

She laughed. "So that's how it is." Her remaining lightsaber snapped forward in compensation, covering the recovery the hammer refused to grant her. The crimson blade darted toward Kjartan's midsection before vanishing just as quickly, buying enough time for another hammer swing.

This one came from the side. A savage horizontal smash that whistled through the foul canal air. Again, immense power. Again, awkward. She was accustomed to changing direction midway through a strike, to letting one attack become another without pause. The hammer resisted every instinct she possessed. It wanted straight lines. It wanted follow-through. It wanted patience. Seris possessed none of those things.

She forced the head around regardless, overcorrecting as its weight threatened to drag her balance with it. Only a quick adjustment of her footing kept her from stumbling outright, though it robbed the next swing of any real fluidity.

"Ha!" The laugh escaped before she realized it. "This thing is terrible." Another strike. An upward swing this time, driven almost entirely by her legs and the Force rather than practiced technique. It had all the ferocity she could muster, but little of the polish its true owner had displayed only moments before.

She wasn't fighting with the hammer. She was wrestling it into obedience. Every exchange reminded her of the difference. Kjartan's movements with his own weapon had been measured, economical, every ounce of strength arriving exactly where it was intended. Seris' blows were violent explosions. Dangerous because of their speed and raw power. Predictable because the weapon refused to bend to her will as readily as twin lightsabers had. She didn't care.

Each awkward recovery simply became another excuse to lunge forward again, crimson blade flickering to cover openings while the stolen hammer sought another crushing impact. Her attention narrowed until the other two Mandalorians all but vanished from her awareness.

There was only the horned warrior before her. Only the challenge. Only the question of which of them would force the other to yield first. The hammer felt wrong in her hands. She couldn't remember the last time that had made her this happy.

JOHN THE REVELATOR

Siv managed to throw them into darkness.

Not that Vren needed it either - his helmet automatically compensated to the change in light. The veteran was quite at home in this setting. Which meant he didn't hover idly either.

The corner of his eye caught the crimson sparks coming from the Echani, yet strangely, nothing erupted toward the other bag of bones. Instead, a gust of very sudden wind picked up. As he flipped around, he also automatically activated the deflector on his jetpack as his jumpboots also fired up to rocket him toward a wall, where he magnetised, facing the duo once more.

Which meant he didn't need Siv's warning. He was already seeing the cyborg coming. With his pistol already drawn and on Particle setting, he merely let loose straight at the harpy's head in a three-round burst.

Just after firing, he kicked away from the wall with his jumpboots again, using a short flight with them to get around before the ions on his jetpack screeched to life within their bubble again to bring him airborne once more, sending another burst of yellow explosive bolts at the cyborg.

As their makeshift arena was briefly turned to dust and smoke, Carduul knew that the momentum had unfortunately been reset. The explosion of the rocket, he could already tell, had missed its mark. The shriek of metal unnaturally being shaped into a shield would be the tell-tale sign of such. As he took up his newfound position, the glint of metal had sharply been flung towards him.

It had caused a veer of motion aside in an attempt to dodge- assuming there were going to be more for the moment. A loud pang! resounded as it scraped against the outer plating of the jetpack, all the same. Not enough to render it useless- but a step towards such, nonetheless…the gyroscopic stabilizers were delicate things.

There was no time for a response- that would've given his opponent a clear idea where he was in the mist. Instead, he opted for immediate retaliation—in the direction of the throw where he had last seen the now hidden crimson blade, Carduul raised his wrist and fired off a grouping of blaster bolts from another pipe above. Suppressive fire, at best…but one never knew when they could get lucky. Immediately following, he had leapt with a jet-fueled propel. That noise was a tell for the Sith, undoubtedly—however, of all places…it came from below.

Having leap from his pipe to freely fall downwards, he wished to make it just that touch more unexpected for a proper reaction. And thus the tip of the poleaxe's spearhead flashed out from the smoke, not aimed as one would for impalement but rather a horizontal drag roughly aimed for the lower half of the Sith, perhaps to land near an ankle. In so doing, he carried his momentum upwards in an attempt to move on to the opposite side of the pipe just past his opponent. “A sith's judgement of leadership being a poor example, as ever.” Was a venomous jab of words in reply.

The Sith masterfully parried Yuri’s attack and, perhaps more impressively, pivoted along the Hound’s vambrace to get above him. Before he could get away, a lightsaber blade shot through his jetpack to kill it immediately.

At least the Whistling Birds managed to get the Sith away while Yuri dealt with the jetpack. Warnings blared across his HUD and the heat from the device was felt right through the back of his cuirass. Not wasting a second, Yuri detached it and hurled it towards the occupied Sith while his jump boots launched the Hound backward.

The last few shots were sent from his pistol to blow the jetpack up between them.

The resulting blast was more than powerful enough to tear a massive section of the ceiling apart and send debris flying in all directions, not to mention the concussive blast that hurled the Hound a distance away.

Anger brewed behind the visor, a near-constant growl rumbled from the snarl across Yuri’s features. His mane and back stood on end to catch against his bodyglove in the most uncomfortable fashion possible. His hands moved with precision to slam fresh magazines into his pistols as he stabilized. He had lost his jetpack, but the lack of weight made him feel a lot more nimble in the lack of gravity. Less weight to move around at the cost of trickier mobility.

With a flick of a switch on each pistol, the Hound activated the amplifiers within his weapons. He was beginning to expend far more ammunition than he would have liked to take the schutta down, but the smell was impossible to miss.

His enemy was bleeding. Hurt and angry, ready to lash out in whatever dangerous and unpredictable fashion he was capable of.

”Bleed, ya karkin’ parasite!” The Hound cried out, voice straining and vocoder cracking at the raw volume of his voice.

The first bolts shot through the smoke. Canm deflected one with his saber before crouching against the pipe as the others whizzed by. Below, he heard the roar of Carduul Akahl Carduul Akahl 's jetpack, and lifted his leg as the poleaxe's head came into view, letting it scrape against the pipe under his foot.

He maneuvered around the curved metal, using one hand for balance while Carduul went past him. Canm swung his lightsaber in a short arc toward the Mandalorian's side, targeting the damaged jetpack instead of wasting the chance on his armor. His other hand stayed free, ready to catch himself or respond to whatever Carduul attempted next.

Having never lowered her SMG from its shooting stance, SL-0182 did not remain idle as the Mandalorian rushed forward to close the fifteen meters of space between them with a sudden burst of speed. She tracked his advance through her sight picture, her breath held steady as his plasma shield hissed to life. While he ran, the Asset fired again, this time from ten meters away and closing. A pair of silenced hypervelocity slugs streaked out in a controlled two-shot burst discharged at the weapon's maximum rate of fire. Both were aimed to strike her target in his feet where his plasma shield might fail to cover him.

Even if the Mandalorian’s plasma shield protected his feet, SL-0182 anticipated being able to break the progress of his charge. The two slugs that she had fired were coated in ultrachrome, a material with the ability to reflect energy. In this case, that property had been weaponized, giving them a very high probability of penetrating energy shields by reflecting away the projected field!
