STRENGTHS
  • Self-Contained: The Katarn Mk. IV is completely self contained and rated for zero-g operation as well as use within a vacuum. It has an integrated rebreather system that provides the wearer with a breathable atmosphere for several hours. This makes it incredibly resistant to biological and chemical attacks as well as allows for use in space and otherwise toxic environments.
WEAKNESSES
  • Very Heavy: This suit of armor is exceptionally heavy and requires that the micro-servo motors within it to be functioning in order for the wearer to be able to move in it at all. Should these systems be damaged or destroyed, the suit will become stuck in place.
DESCRIPTION

Following the battle with the Sith over Ossus, Beltran noted that there was a growing need for a battle suit that could withstand the harshness of space. This need was only underscored when in subsequent actions, the Bryn'adul began to use biological weapons against member races of the Silver Jedi Concord. An updated "Katarn" suit of power-armor, based heavily on the Mk. III variant but including an integrated rebreather system and additional vacuum seals was produced in order to fit this need.
