DESCRIPTION

Flexanium is a synthetic alloy made from the soft metal Gallium and the hard metal Titanium through a proprietary smelting technique developed by Obsidian Star R&D. The process creates fibrous strands of alloy that can be woven together at the molecular level, creating a material that is flexible enough to allow movement while retaining much of the titanium's high tensile strength-to-weight ratio. Flexanium, though not as strong as proper Titanium, provides energy and kinetic protection on par with most grades of durasteel plating used in armor-but with the flexibility and lightness to be useful in armor production. One of its most obvious drawbacks as an armor grade material is its superconductivity of electricity. This material offers virtually no protection from ION cannons, stun blasts or other electrical based weaponry.
