- Lightweight construction: The use of Ersteel SLCA and Lamellar poly-carbonite compound grants this vessel a very light weight, which aids in its transport, its speed and maneuvrability and overall handling by pilots.
- Reliable: The fact that most of its components are tried and tested, with most of its electronics being of the single-circuit variety adds a sense of reliability to the starfighter.
- Overall balance: With a strong balance in terms of practically all its specs, the TIE/SV promises space/air superiority in almost all engagements.
- Surprisingly effective against larger ships due to shredder ammunition
- Atmospheric capabilities, allowing for speeds of up to 1,634 kph in standard atmospheric conditions
- No AI, unlike most of the N&Z ship designs, the TIE/SV does not have a designated AI installed, meaning that unless it would be added, all variations would require manual control of the vessel and thus require some experience with handling at the very least starfighters of similar size.
- Low squadron counts: The restrictions had to come from somewhere, to maintain the cost effectiveness of this insanely good vessel, the TIE/SV can only be delivered and thus used in batches of up to 6 per squadron, lowering their overall effect as a single squadron due to lower numbers.
- Stability in beyond standard atmospheric conditions: the overal shape of the vessel hampers maneuvring greatly when the atmosphere is much denser or more volatile compared to the universal standard (earth and earth-like)
The TIE/sv is the result of an internal program utilizing the known TIE/MBP platform and strengthening it to allow for better performances in the field. Improvements include, but are not limited to: the use of advanced weapon systems and the new conjunction use of targeting computers alongside the missile launchers. The ability for this vessel to carry up to four Shredders also adds a massive degree of useability, but perhaps the most incursive change is the fact that HPI's seigurium light has been used to reinforce the overall structure, while the NZ Pangolin reactive armor is used mainly around the central cockpit to ensure a better survival rate for TIE pilots.
Sadly, the use of a hyperdrive was not part of the improvement, as TIE fighters are still to maintain a certain degree of cost-efficiency in comparison to many other starfighter programs. Because of this, the TIE/sv suffers from most standard TIE fighter issues such as low storage capacity, lack of hyperdrive systems and general problems with stability in beyond standard atmospheric conditions. However, despite these issues, the N&Z and its subsidiary division EnSol Starworks are certain that the SAVAGE can be expected to see action quite soon.
