Drained from the summoning of his Hadzuska Rowa, Sage had no defense from the telekinetic repulse that flew forth from the hand of the false Wrath. The illusionist flew backwards, sprawling on the ground. A crack sounded as his human arm was broken so badly that the bone poked through his skin. He shrieked in pain, a sentiment echoed by his trio of amphistaves who hissed and writhed frenetically, sharing in his agony. His breaths quickening, Sage channeled the Force through his shadow wolves, using them to surround Reverance's doppelganger, and lash out with a devastating telekinetic assault. If not thwarted, the Force Rend attack sought to pull the man's physical body in two different directions, ripping it apart.

That was when he the felt presence of two distinct beings drawing near. Snapping his head to the left there was a petite blonde human peeking around the corner. On the right was a Togruta, and although she was crouching, she looked to be an imposing figure. Sage grinned darkly behind the helm of his Dark Armor. He liked big girls. The Sith Lord was woefully outnumbered, but the illusionist didn't fret. More beings simply meant more strings to pull. There was so much fun he could have with these two.

Nubica snap rolled her X-wing onto the port S-foils and followed through a quick split-S manoeuvre that let the squints that had been on her tail overshoot her. They levelled out again and broke to starboard, applying rudder to get their noses around, and then cruised in on her. She chopped her throttle back a bit as she made her approach.

She fired off a quad burst of lasers that converged on the squint's cockpit. The scarlet beams burned the top off the cockpit, instantly liquefying the Quadanium steel. It condensed into tiny round pellets that sparked off her forward shields, but that was as much of a threat as the pirate posed to her. Fire flared in the engines, and the ship started a slow spiral.

She then settled in on her target and dropped her aiming reticle over it much too easily. Part of her wanted the pilot to juke and move the ship, to make the shot tough for her. She realised instantly that her desire did not come because she wanted to prove herself the superior. It's just that she'd rather not slaughter some kid on his first mission.

She immediately pushed that thought aside and tightened up on her trigger. The quad burst of laserfire drilled the pirate in its twin ion engines. The engine housing began to melt, warping out of shape, which compressed the reaction chamber. The engine exploded with a great gout of golden flame, jetting the ship forward. The fire at the squint's aft winked out, snuffed by the vacuum of space, leaving the fighter to fly on powerlessly.

What was even going on? That was the Wrath of the Dark Lord, and a… Hand? Did she know this? Well, if she did, it was because of her Intelligence position. If she didn’t know this, it was still confusing her with lightsabers fighting lightsabers. But the blonde was going to hang back for a moment, especially with that scream and that was what caused her to tuck back behind the wall.

Yeah, there was no way she was getting involved in this, without some serious back up.

Blast it, Chevu, where are you?

Was that a movie quote? Yes, yes it was.

What she was going to do, was wait for the opportune moment and start firing. That one that was looking like the Wrath supposedly wasn’t, but the other had snake arms, and that was a clear Sith, that was her clear target.

Show them what Force-blind can do.

Objective: Save blondie

My name is Judah Lesan and I'm here to rescue you. That would be a great line except he'd used it before. The last time Judah had rescued someone they were held by a cult and about to be sacrificed to bring back the spirit of a dead Sith. It had earned him the title Hero of Korriban, but that was another life, another time, and well before meeting his wife.

Dropping in from out of no where, almost literally, Judah found a place to perch. He was going to see what kind of help he could provide here. Maybe he was powerless, maybe he wasn't. The last time Judah went up against a master, he paid the price. Judah wasn't going to sit back and do nothing though. He had to help. His mind went to the woman, and he hoped she'd here him.

"If you can hear me nod. I want to help, and I need you to tell me what you see from where you are."

Tanek stood silently at Setzi's side as she explained their mission. He looked expectantly to Canal, eager to see his reaction, and he gave him a court as a sign of mutual respect. After all, he had been polite and respectful in his dealings with the Togruta Jedi. Tanek was about to reply, but his reply was cut off before he even could utter the first word. The door opened, and in it they were met with another. Interesting. The door would hardly offer any protection if their average-volume conversation had been so easily overheard by those inside. Open, closed, that door was no obstacle. The woman closed it behind her, but Tanek saw no cause to intervene and see to it that that did not happen.

Tanek was still playing his role as Jedi Master, unaware that Tionne had declared them assassins already. He was also unaware that she was anything but a secretary. Both her outfit and presence in the Force had him dismiss her as a regular civilian. Not that it offered her much in terms of protection, as he saw no reason to leave her unharmed. He wasn't here to take prisoners. The Togruta watched the exchange between the soldier and the secretary while carrying a patient smile. As they got into a conversation on whether or not he was a Jedi, he saw it fit to give his reply.

"Of course." The Togruta took a bow. It was intended as a sign that he understood the situation, and that he and his companion were prepared to leave. "We will return at a later-" he never got to finish his sentence. He had decided to strike mid-sentence, hoping to catch them off-guard. It was time to do something stupid. Tanek Santii the Jedi was cast away, as the Sith Lord Darth Pyrrhus stepped onto the field.

The first attack didn't come from Pyrrhus himself, who was still mid-bow. From the wide sleeve of his right arm, his amphistaff shot out at [member="Canal"]. It was hungry, and was eager to get a bite out of the soldier. Just as his serpentine companion struck, Pyrrhus took a deep step forwards. He drew and ignited his lightsaber, striking at Canal and his nearby soldiers in a wide horizontal strike. They had gotten as far as they possibly could get with their cover intact. With the only other option being 'walk away, wait, and hope for the best', the two Sith had opted for the more aggressive route. There was only so long he could stand being referred to as 'Jedi'.

When Darth Pyrrhus hinted that they would return, this sent a spike of adrenaline up through Darth Azurea. She knew they would not leave without a solid attempt at the President's life. The time was now to attack. Like a black whip, the Togruta's amphistaff lunged at the soldier blocking the door, followed by the Sith Lord himself. The red-haired woman who stood by the closed door was just a political aide it seemed. Like Pyrrhus, Azurea wasn't able to detect that she was a Jedi.

At the same time, Darth Azurea turned, not to either sentry guarding the door, but to the adjascent wall. Igniting her own crimson blade, and with two hands gripped her saber and thrust it into the wall, grunting audibly with the effort. Her saber sliced easily through the drywall and stresscrete. In essence she was trying to bypass the bespectacled aide altogether and force her way through to the President through her makeshift door.

Finally, the Jedi understood and was obeying his orders, or so he thought that they were relaying his words. His focus never lost concentration even when the two figures were Jedi. He couldn't just trust someone when he was protecting an important state head that was in negotiations with delegates of the Alliance. No one cold be trusted at all that wasn't inside the conference room. And these Jedi were proof of that when they made the most unwise decision of revealing who they truly were.

The amphistaff was the source of the true affiliation of the assassins. "Focus fire," he ordered to the other soldiers as they concentrated most of their focus on the serpent. He never forgot the time when the Hydra Queen attacked him with dozens of amphistaffs which led him to a long time of slavery to that dreaded Vong. When the two meter snake attacked Canal the clone used his primary weapon, the DC-17m, to protect him from the deadly bite of the amphistaff. He immediately threw the weapon to the the general area of the Sith Knights once the snake made contact with the gun.

After he protected himself from the creature the Togruta approaxhed Canal with a horizontal slash from his lightsaber. While he did injured and killed some troopers he didn't harmed the Clone due to his personal shield being his first line of defense. Yes, it it drained twice the energy of the shield because of the lightsaber but it prevent him from getting a scratch. With Sith opened after the wide horizontal slash Canal jolted towards him with a spear to tackle her from the ground.

With all the commotion happening but would alert Sarge and the others inside of the room to know that there was fighting and violence happening.

Even as Sage was thrown from the proximity of the attacker, his assault continued. One of the mind would change to one of the body as Gabriel felt the fibers of his form twist against the frame. Molecules, cells and DNA, splitting against their edges, pushing against the membrane. A left and a right, mitosis reversed, he winced as his lightsaber extinguished. His hands clawed at the flesh beneath cloth, tearing at the prospects that the telekinesis might bring, wrought iron broken apart. The pain coursed through him as he hugged himself, trying to keep himself together, as he recalled the powers of the Sith Lord. He was a mentalist, vong formed, but he would tango with Reverance on the dance floor built from telekinesis. The world was built upon a certain indiscernible limit. And this was his.

Pressing hard across the tendrils of the force, those very tendrils that were withdrawing from him, he gripped them and pulled back. The exertion of his own power willed the reverse, the taste of telekinesis strafing across his body like lightning across a metal field. Arching, he flexed the muscles of his chest and abdomen and back, weighing him down and willing himself to not be torn asunder. He wouldn't be moved, his presence wouldn't allow it. And with the pain of a broken arm, amphistaff arms fighting fiercely for power, and the confusion of this identity, Gabriel exerted his power over himself in defiance of Sage. "No." He growled as he flung his hands out, the red beam igniting as he felt the blood pressure and exertion temporarily blind with spots of black and sparks of white. With what time he had left, vision slowly restoring, he launched the lightsaber at the star struck lover. His former friend, a vile being, he would end this with the shock of rebellion and the twirl of a crimson blade.

Opportune moment. Opportune moment. When was that? She was watching the conflict and that was when something else showed up in her head. Who was that? The blonde looked around. She nodded, but still couldn’t see what it was she was looking for, or who it was. Was it one of those Sith? She didn’t think so.

“What am I going to do?” She whispered.

She needed to take a shot, but if she chose wrong, or fired at the wrong time and they both came after her? What was she supposed to do. Reports in Intel were painting the one who looked like the Wrath as an unknown, as someone who was saying

One shot, then she would need to be scarce.

Sarge did, in fact, hear the fighting outside, and he motioned for the lone other guard ([member="The Storyteller"]) to get the folk to the back of the room. Tionne came over, spoke a few words and departed, leaving him a bit perplexed as to just what the secretary was gonna do. Shrugging, he took a few steps back and pulled his saber from his belt. Facing the door, massively armored bulk blocking the president and others, he simply waited to see if [member="Darth Azurea"] and [member="Darth Pyrrhus"] could get past [member="Canal"] and company.

The art of assassination contained but one vital ingredient - patience. Seemingly, these two Sith warriors were quite lacking in that department. Thanewulf, on the other side, could walk among the Sith for weeks if need be, waiting for the right moment to strike. The president was protected by a personal army, with two fully trained Force sensitives at his side; an armoured tank bred to shatter Sith bones and a hyperintelligent mentalist, a student of the Unifying Force, who was virtually immune to any sort of mental attacks. The Sith had an insatiable thirst for blood, which often made them reckless and sloppy, crippling them even when they had fair chances of winning.

Tionne firmly believed they could not control the darkness inside them, who beckoned for the life of the President once they came near to their target. A problem of delayed gratification, if you will, when a child rather munches one cake now than wait and recieve two. Hence, the covers of the Sith were often far from elaborate, sporadic at best, nothing like the multilayered scam the red-haired woman had staged. A part of her was disappointed the confrontation turned from battle of wits to skirmish so soon.

A ginger brow was raised at the exchange of fire, Canal's troops giving the staff-swinging Togruta quite some work. She, on the other hand, remained completely unphased by the events around her, as if she saw far worse things happen in office. Her Force signature remained hidden for the time being, hiding her true allignment was now her only advantage. Instead, she took a few moments to observe her surroundings, especially the woman who wanted to bore a hole through the wall. Did these two Sith assassins really think the Caamasi would hold a meeting in a room that was separated from the outside world by decorated cardboard? No, there was a second door that lead to the meeting hall, a blast door not so easily poked with by a glowing stick.

A few idle moments were spent in observation. Assassins rarely operated in pairs, especially so up front. Judging by the way the Togruta deflected incoming blaster bolts, he was a master Soresuist, just like Tionne. His footwork was indeed amicable. The human woman was eager on getting inside first, perhaps she was the one who would assasinate the President, as an atest of worth? Perchance master and a student? The associative mind of Tionne Thanewulf ran a thousand scenarios in a matter of milliseconds, when the plan converged into one simple, albeit prudent scheme.

"Where the hell were you?!?" the redhead inquired in an almost frustrated voice - "Kill the Camaasi bastard!"
Tionne frowned and pouted her lips, perfectly fitting into the role of a disgraced secretary. It didn't take a genius to figure out the ginger-maned secretary probably had her own reasons why the President should be killed. Perhaps he promised her promotions, pledged he would make their relationship formal. A frustrated, cheated woman was easily talked into plotting against the President. It seemed perfectly logical, given her reaction.

"Come with me, I have the key." the redhead said to the human woman and opened the door for her to enter, while [member="Canal"] and his troops stood between the entrance and the Togruta.
"Come, come! There is another door, hurry." Tionne said as she extended the card that opened the blast door to the card reader - "The lying bastard will escape!"

The Sith were predators. Once they saw the prey, their focus was solely on the game they were hunting. Once the Dark Side consumed them, instincts weren't easily controlled. It was like asking a hound who was born and bred to hunt foxes to abstain once he saw one wiggle into a hole. Highly unlikely.
In a way, Tionne challenged the Sith woman. Would she follow Tionne inside without questioning her motives? She had no reason to believe Tionne is anything but an aide, a very vengeful aid. Was there even any time to analyze? The President would be but at an arm's length.

Ultimately, Tionne's plan was elementary. If the Sith woman would follow her through the door, Thanewulf would close the blast doors once she was in, severing her from the Togruta. If the Sith woman would not follow suit, the blast doors would remain closed, giving the President enough time to evacuate once the alarm was sounded. Would the Togruta let the human woman in on her own, since there was but one Force signature inside? Surely, she could handle one light-sider on way to her ultimate goal? Did the tendril-headed maniac trust her enough?
So many layers, so many intricacies. Thanewulf smiled internally. Let the game begin.

Tachon moved away from the political debate. He found himself extremely and irrevocably bored, so he went exploring. Whether a local followed him around or not didn't matter, he wasn't looking for trouble. He made his way around, investigating corridors and odd noises that he happened upon. It was at that point that he found an off-shoot with a little book. It wasn't very big, and it was just sitting off to the side like someone had been studying it then got called away. He picked up the little thing and leaned against a wall. He flipped through the first few pages and stopped where it looked like the content legitimately began. The text confused him, so he went back and read the foreword. It was a little brief history of the Jensaarai. Extremely condensed and simplified. No trade secrets, just light reading.

While Darth Pyrrhus was busy with the soldier, Darth Azurea realized her impromptu renovation of the capital building with her lightsaber wasn't getting her anywhere, so she turned to help her companion. But it appeared that she had an ally on the inside as it were. The red-haired secetary also apparently had a grudge against the President. Darth Azurea scanned for a darkside signature but found none. Perhaps she was a Sith Intelligence agent or perhaps this was just a lucky break, but the Sith Knight wasn't going to look a gift horse in the mouth.

But she was going to increase her chances of the assassination being successful, especially with this odd turn of events. Trying to slice into the wall gave her an idea, which she now put into action. Surely she would be making the red-haired job's easier if she just executed the President right then and there where they both stood.

Darth Azurea stopped, and with Force Sight, accessed the layout of the room and was able to view President Bal'yin. Needing only a visual of him, Azurea then began to choke him, squeezing his trachea to the point of it nearly collapsing.

The three security guards hustled the president to the back of the room, kicking up the chairs and tables as a barricade. Two perched their rifles over the edge, aiming towards the door. The third crouched beside the Caamasi, hand on his shoulder, in case they needed to beat out of the room. The sound of lightsabers and blaster fire echoed through the various chambers. The security guard by the door, across from Sarge settled himself and then slung his rifle across his shoulder. It was time for the truth to come out.

Then Elenan started choking, gasping and clutching at his throat. The guards started, searching for the invisible opponent. The one by the door shifted and two lightsabers appeared in his hand. The blades ignited, one purple and one green. He nodded to Sarge and opened the door, diving through it and pushing it closed once more, unleashing a barrage of green lightning towards the Sith in the antechamber. The man stood, tossing off his pack and weaponry, save for the sabers.

"Stand down, Sith, and you will have a trial."

A communication popped up on the overturned table. An officer stood upon the bridge of a starship, preparing to make a report, but winked out as he saw the situation, yelling something out to those around him.

Of the guards behind the table scuttled over to the wall and kicked in a ventilation pipe. The other two began dragging the president away and into the ventilation shaft.
"Hold them off!" One called back, "We'll move to extraction!"

There were several moments of silence as the assembled Jensaarai considered Julius' speech. They broke into discussions around the table, several breaking into shouted arguments while others leaned back in their chairs, listening. The Saarai-kar sat thinking, eyeing the lightsaber on the table before her. She tapped it thoughtfully. She was the Thornn, the one who had led her people's survival and successful defense of their home for decades, driving the justice of the Jensaarai deep into the sides of the outlaws and brigands that had hindered the during the years of the plague.

She picked up the saber and held up her hand. The council went quiet, except for some muffled grumbling.

"We thank, Knight Sedaire, for understanding us at last." She paused again. "Some of you shall stay and join our number." Another explosion of discussion from the council and she held her hand up again. "We shall not keep you permanently. Nor will you be full Jensaarai unless you so choose. Pick among yourselves who will stay."

"Sarrai-kar! Assassins have assaulted the president and the envoy!"

"And an unidentified capital ship is attacking a convoy!"

She turned to the others for a moment and nodded. The Council rose, and saluted, before hurrying off into the main corridor. Councilman Tillian paused, yelling to the logistics officers. "Deploy all reserve Ring Defenders and mark the rendezvous with the main Suarbi fleet! And get me the Tillian Mercantile escort fleet! Same orders!"

He turned to the envoys and shrugged. "Looks like you made it on a very exciting day. Good choice." Then he too, with a swish of his cape, was gone. Only the Saarai-kar remained, watching the various holodisplays.

The combatants would hear an ominous pounding in the walls around them, accompanied by a horrific stench of death and decay. No presence in the Force, however. The pounding would increase in tempo before suddenly stopping. A monstrous roar would echo through the hallway, shaking the archaic space station. Heavy footsteps sounded, growing closer...

Then the creature appeared, a monstrous hybridization of creature and machine. Some sort of juvenile rancor with cybernetic limbs welded onto its body and into its brain lumbered towards them. Full fifteen feet tall and almost as broad. It opened its mouth and let out a second roar before hobbling into a charge towards the combatants, lumbering forwards quite quickly, mechanical arms clawing at the air, eager for its prey.

Sumalee was the unfortunate sapient to be caught in the first swipe. While she couldn't quite move as deftly as others, she could focus on the juvenile creature. In an instant, the yellow blaze of her lightsaber bathed them both in light, a snap-hiss that would hum to hopefully detach the cybernetic claw from the creature's hand as it came down.

She felt a moment of remorse for the pilot's death — whether it had come with the engine explosion or would come from exposure and suffocation as the squint's life-support systems failed. She didn't let herself dwell on the enemy's fate, though. The other pilot had accepted the same risks she did when she entered a cockpit and flew into combat. Dead is dead, no matter how you go. Her green eyes narrowed. And the object of this exercise for her is to avoid getting dead at all.

She glanced at her sensor scopes, and aside from some fighters tied up in a dogfight, the area of operations appeared clear. "Flight Control. I am negative for targets. Do I return?"

"Negative. Prepare for incoming — and it’s big.”

"I copy, Control." She punched up her scanners to maximum, the command ship saw something she didn’t.

Even as she made that act, she looked up through her canopy and saw the capital ship emerge from hyperpace.

It had knifed its way from hyperspace and into the battle on a course that had it right on top of Nubica. Her ship had come in perpendicular to its keel and her fighter was raked it with shots from all its starboard guns, running from bow to stern as she passed. Heavy turbolaser batteries played shots over her under-shielded ship, burning great black pits in its white hull. Flames exploded and curled away as superheated atmosphere blew out through weakened hull plates.

Then there was an explosion and she lost consciousness. The ship was engulfed in a short but spectacular fireball and its momentum carried it away from the enemy — who turned their attention on others. It was her saving grace. Well…one of them. The other was the medical ship she was flying towards. She was caught in its tractor beam and pulled to safety.

But her injuries were extensive and burns severe. Pity the doctor that had to break the news to her.

For her first time on Susevfi, she was a bit confused with everything. Maybe it was the joint movement with a lot of people from the Alliance, and being a Warden. She wans’t used to spending time around systems, she was always on the move and that was how she enjoyed it. But this place, it was a place for her to learn more of the galaxy clearly, and working with someone like [member="Julius Sedaire"] was definitely interesting.

The man was Corellian, but he was a little different than her father, the one she measured all other Corellians against. But she was listening to the envoys talk and that was when beings ran in.

Kaia was listening and she bit her lip when there was talk of a capital ship being attacked.

“Who is attacking the ship?” She asked. Her mind was already making her way to the Wandering Star but she never ran headlong into combat without knowing what she was up against. A Corellian-born who needed to know the odds, clearly too much time among the Chiss.

His lover's Doppelganger was a fierce opponent, just like the original. Baring his familiar sharp canines, just like the ones that were sunken into his own sensitive places, the warrior resisted the Force Rend with all of his power. Sage's defiant amphistaves still writhed uncontrollably, thrashing out in rogue directions. When the lightsaber was flung his way, he couldn't count on on his pets to parry the blow, and instead had to improvise, using the Force to speed up every cell in his body in order to dodge the flying plasma blade. As his muscles sped up, time seemed to slow down as the faux Wrath's lightsaber narrowly missed him. His fractured arm sang out with pain, and it showed in his expression and posture. The Sith Lord was slowing down. Perhaps it was time to let someone else do his dirty work.

He snapped his head to the frozen blonde ([member="Peyton Steele"]), and attempted to reach into her mind. If she did not thwart the Mind Control attempt, Sage would issue an undeniable command: to shoot at the faux Wrath.

A strange creature, part man, part machine, came lumbering in and immediately launched an attack on the Togruta woman who ignited her saber with a snap-hiss. Good. Let her be torn apart by the golem.

She settled back down, head rested in the crook of an elbow, only moving when the creamy white stuff was being rubbed into that arm. She couldn't deny that it felt nice to have the sunblock rubbed in, with further pressure pressed into her by way of a short massage, even though a part of her psyche was outright panicking over it. Nerves. As time passed since that reconciliation after pain and fear was caused, she had been trying to make her head congruent with her heart, and it was tiring. It wasn't until she remembered a conversation she had with her mother early on in the days that she and Liam had been travelling together that she began to let go a little and try with the farmboy.

"Of course I do," she said with a soft sigh, eyes closed under the warmth of the sun, "but I've never been diving," her tone turned sardonic, "except when you pulled me under at Hylo's place."

The worst that could happen is that it wouldn't work out, and that was what worried her. The last time she cared as much for a member of the opposite sex, he died, and it still hurt sometimes. The hurt had lost a lot of its sting, though, even that she could see and that he had been rubbing in the lotion longer than what was needed didn't matter yet; she was still thinking, and the motions of his hands was appearing to bring some calm to her thoughts.

"Never been. When I was growing up, this was all under the purview of a government that didn't like us, and since they became a thing of the past, I've been with you and the gang. So if I haven't been somewhere with you, I haven't been."

She smiled at those words.

My hands continued to work against her skin just for a moment longer. Her conversation made things a bit easier to focus on and my mind forgot what it was trying to mentally show me. I thought about everything she has said, she was right with everything. Ibaris and I had been traveling the Galaxy since I was fifteen and if my memory serves me correctly, she was fourteen. My hands fell from her arm and rested at my side as I recalled the years and did the math. "You know, the more I think about it - we've been partners for a really long time. It feels like yesterday your small footsteps stormed up to me asking me if I was a chicken or something like that." The towel next to me was used to wipe my hands as I laughed. "You were so short then."

Now that my hands were clean of the lotion, I reached out to ruffle her hair. I stopped myself though and paused. It was something I would have done to the Princess when we were younger, but I didn't want to. Instead I lightly touched the ends of her hair and stopped. I couldn't do something like that for too long - or she'd smack me.

When have I ever feared her smacking? "Well it looks like you don't go diving unless I take you with me." My arms scooped up around her waist and lifted her up off her feet. I turned her small frame mid air to face me and threw her over my shoulder. Proceeding to the water I laughed to avoid telling her I didn't want to go anywhere without her at my side.
