  • Population: Heavy. This is both a newer and older wall. The main one around the mountain spire itself and section of the bulwark around the expansion district.

  • Accessibility: Private Access. Restricted to those personnel granted clearance to Lóngkou. Emergency medical support is dispatched from this location, when required, however, any cases are flown to civilian hospitals in the Imperial City for treatment.
  • Description: The colossal fortification surrounding the City is a true marvel of impossible defense, built as a double-course shell with a core of Jarcrete and Materia.
    • Architectural Composition:
      • The wall's exterior is composed of pale Kazue Stone, its blocks meticulously cut and interlocked so finely that the surface is perfectly smooth, seamless, and curving. This flawless alignment renders the wall frictionless, resisting any physical purchase and actively neutralizing magnetic clamps or adherents due to the Materia core's exotic properties. The inner core of Jarcrete is not mere filler, but a specialized, self-repairing composite that instantly heals micro-fractures, ensuring the wall's structural integrity is never compromised. The exterior Kazue stone is treated to be highly hydrophobic and photoluminescent, repelling moisture and emitting a faint, cool glow after dusk, leaving no shadow for infiltration.
    • The Cliffside Defense:
      • The most formidable aspect of the defense is the wall's foundation on the cliff side. The wall does not merely sit at the edge; it transitions seamlessly into a single, massive sheet of smooth Kazue Stone that extends down the entire three-kilometer vertical dropinto the No Man's Land below. This engineered scarp makes any ascension attempt immediately disastrous. Embedded into this sheer, smooth face are small, reinforced defensive bubbles of stone, spaced every ten meters. Each bubble conceals a retractable Jarcrete turret armed with focused energy emitters. These turrets are strategically angled to provide overlapping fields of fire, ensuring that any point on the 3 km vertical drop is simultaneously covered by multiple weapons, making vertical ascent an absolute impossibility.
    • Layered Defenses:
      • The wall's capstone defenses are a sophisticated blend of observation, automation, and sheer energy:
        • Observation Towers: Smooth, sleek observation towers stand every twenty meters along the wall walk, providing personnel with a view over the landscape and down the sheer drop. These towers are the command nodes for the automated systems.
        • Orchid Droid Platforms: Fully automated, retractable Orchid Droid Platforms are spaced every fifty meters. These serve as launch points and docking stations for surveillance and intercept drones, allowing the perimeter to be patrolled and analyzed without constant human deployment.
        • Overlapping Shield Generators: The city's final layer of defense is powered by hundreds of self-powered generators discreetly integrated into the wall's structure. These generators feed a series of powerful Shielding Projectors, spaced every thirty meters. The projectors are designed to multilayer the protective shields on both the interior and exterior faces of the wall, creating a near-impenetrable, planetary barrier that can be adjusted in layer and scope across the entire length of the fortification.

Gatehouses (The Needle's Eye): The city's main entrances and bridge connection points are not traditional gates; they are massive architectural challenges designed to maintain the wall's seamless, impenetrable defense. The Gatehouse, often referred to as The Needle's Eye, is not a breach in the wall but a heavily fortified corridor tunnel that pierces the Kazue stone mass. It is flanked by two immense, teardrop-shaped Bastions that jut out farther than the regular defensive bubbles, ensuring three-way, layered fire on anyone approaching.
  1. The Aperture: The entrance to the gate is a narrow, heavily shielded channel that forces incoming traffic into a single, constrained line. The opening is protected by a series of layered energy curtains generated by the wall's projectors, capable of instantly vaporizing anything large or rapidly moving.
  2. The Chamber of Scrutiny: Once inside the channel, traffic enters a large, sound-dampened security chamber encased entirely in Jarcrete. Here, a cascade of security measures is deployed:
    • Kazue-Stone Seals: The path ahead and behind are blocked by three sets of massive, horizontally sliding Kazue-Stone Seals. These seals are so thick and perfectly fitted that when closed, they restore the wall's seamless integrity within the corridor.
    • The Ionite Field: The chamber is saturated with a localized field that instantly disables all internal electronics, weapons, or communication devices carried by those passing through, forcing absolute reliance on the Gatehouse staff.
  3. The Personnel: The Gatehouses are staffed by the Iron Maidens, an elite biot garrison known for their unwavering discipline. Their command center, suspended high above the scrutiny chamber, is protected by independent shielding and connected to the city's central intelligence network.

The massive city fortification has endured several names across its long existence, reflecting the city's changing status over a period spanning near one hundred and fifty thousand years of continuous presence and upgrade. Initially, the walls were structurally distinct from the Great Wall, which served the primary purpose of containing the city when it functioned as a "darkside nexus." Built high upon the mountain's natural defenses, the inner city walls were considered largely unnamed or only a redundant safeguard, with the immense drop-off making a direct breach unlikely. As the city transitioned, the wall became known as The King's Cinture during the period of the transition from Kital Phard to the Atrisian Commonwealth. This era saw the first major overhaul, incorporating technologies and structural reinforcements that perfected the frictionless, seamless Kazue Stone sheet running the full three-kilometer depth of the cliff face, utilizing the seemingly limitless resources of the time. The true transformation occurred with the arrival of the Jishi era and the subsequent foundation of the the Commonwealth able to go Post-Scarcity. Under the Commonwealth's vast influence and advanced technological capability, the walls received continuous, major upgrades. The post-scarcity resources allowed the integration of the sophisticated Materia core, the overlapping Shielding Projectors, and the intricate automated defenses like the Orchid Droid Platforms. These changes shifted the wall from a passive structural barrier to a dynamic, layered defense system.
