- Age: Late thirties (appearance and programming)
- Model: Archangel X-3 Myrmidon Droid; Formerly ARD X-1
- Appearance: At 6’6” (2 m) tall and 330 lbs. (150 kg), Ayreon is a hulking metal giant. He has the appearance of a clean-cut Human male approaching middle age. His features are ruggedly handsome and weathered, with a nasty scar cutting from his left eyebrow to his upper lip. Overall he is quite realistically rendered, making it easy for him to pass as a Human (with perhaps some cybernetic enhancements). He typically wears classy, semi-formal clothing—a white suit with a blue shirt and tie, for instance. His dark hair is neatly combed. The most striking thing about him is his brown eyes, which seem to contain a hint of subtle warmth.

- Skills: Ayreon was built to be a police officer/detective. Most of his abilities are oriented toward sleuthing, gathering evidence, and problem solving. He also has more practical uses, such as piloting, driving, and combat. His psychological programming makes him a formidable interrogator, and while he will try to avoid breaking the law, he can slice a computer or pick a lock if necessary.
- Personality: Imitating the language and mannerisms of a hardboiled neo-noir detective, Ayreon is a quintessential gumshoe with a cyberpunk twist. His programming has given him a sense of right and wrong, though it is based purely on the laws of the sector he is currently inhabiting; if he witnesses a crime taking place, he will attempt to put a stop to it and/or apprehend the perpetrator, if possible. But if the local laws don't prohibit an act, no matter how cruel or vicious, he will do nothing. He can emulate human emotions and analyze patterns of behavior in others, but cannot truly feel. Thus it is important to remember that no matter how kind and compassionate his actions may seem, his behavior and decisions are based on legalism.
- Weapon of Choice: Ranged weaponry
- Combat Function: Ayreon prefers to keep his distance in a fight, and so he utilizes a variety of ranged weapons, from blasters to slugthrowers, rifles and pistols.
- Incredibly Strong: His strength is more than double that of a comparable human. For a very short period he can lift triple that weight. As he also feels no pain he can use his body as a weapon or to smash through barriers.
- Extremely Resilient: He can take several blaster bolts before he fails. His phrik endoskeleton makes him highly resistant to lightsaber damage. Limbs can be severed and severe damage done, but he will press on regardless.
- Infiltrator: Ayreon is designed to look, act and seem human. If needed, he can convincingly blend into social situations, and the average person wouldn't be able to tell he isn't a flesh-and-blood man.
- I Spy: Using his advanced micro-optics, Ayreon is able to identify infiltrators who use image altering techniques such as holographic disguise matrices, ooglith masquers, prostheses and makeup. He is also very good at reading body language and social cues, looking for signs of deception or trickery.
- Relentless: Ayreon knows no fear. He is implacable and ruthless.
- Mechanical Bloodhound: Leftover subroutines and abilities from when he was a police detective remain active despite a memory wipe, enabling him to collect and analyze evidence.
- I Fight For the Users: Anti-malware protocols and anti-slicing countermeasures make it more difficult to tamper with his programming, overwrite his core functions or otherwise turn him against those he considers friendly/innocent.
- Machine Vulnerabilities: Ayreon can be affected by the Force, and he is especially vulnerable to ion and electrical attacks. A blast of Sith lightning or an ion grenade can severely damage vital systems even if he is not destroyed. His ion buffer is really only useful against small arms or glancing shots.
- Not Invincible: HRDs are powerful, but in the high tech modern galaxy they are not invulnerable. Heavy weapons, high-caliber projectiles, explosions and so on can damage Ayreon. Significant concussive force can cause damage to his internal components, decreasing his combat efficiency and leaving him vulnerable.
- Detectable: While Ayreon's skeleton is very resistant to damage, his organic overlay is not. In an infiltration situation, damage to it will easily blow his cover, as it will expose the metal beneath his synthskin. In addition, Ayreon's weight is totally at odds with his apparently fit and trim appearance due to the heaviness of his phrik skeleton. It also makes detection via magnetic scans easier. And of course, someone with the Force could detect that he is not human right away.
- I Am a Machine, Nothing More: Ayreon can look, act, and seem human, but he is not. In many cases, he doesn't bother trying to hide his true nature, displaying an overall lack of emotion and empathy. He cannot forge emotional bonds and connections with others, because he doesn't actually feel the emotions he imitates. Any loyalties or preferences he may display are dependent on logic and/or his programming.
- The Long Arm of the Law: Ayreon's decision-making is most strongly influenced by the laws and regulations of the sector he is currently in. If he witnesses illegal activity, he will attempt to put a stop to it. But if he witnesses a crime against nature or decency occurring on a planet where such acts are legal, he will do nothing. This also applies to laws which infringe upon sentient rights; if taken into such areas, he can be made to act as an enforcer of tyranny. In addition, if a client requests something that is against the law, he will refuse (and the client will most likely be arrested for conspiracy to commit a crime).
- Could've Fooled Me: While sophisticated, Ayreon's search and identify protocols are not flawless. Use of the Force, the right identification codes and similar may succeed in overcoming his capabilities.
- Slowed Down: The increased weight and bulk of his phrik skeleton creates a barrier for Ayreon's servos, meaning he is less agile. Moreover, the added bulk makes certain types of terrain, such as muddy areas or swamps, extremely difficult to traverse.
- Eye For An Eye: Ayreon's eyes are not protected by phrik. Thus it is possible to blind or disorientate him by targeting his eyes.
- Dismemberment: His joints are still vulnerable to strikes from a lightsaber.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
There was once a man named Jon Ayreon, a police detective. That man no longer exists.
Shortly after his death, his consciousness was uploaded into an HRD body, the ARD X-1. He continued to serve the Taris Lower City Police Department for a few years afterwards. But at some point, most likely following the recent series of invasions and orbital bombardments of the planet, he underwent a memory wipe and was sold to the media and entertainment company Gildenleaf Inc.
From there, he wound up serving as a bouncer at one of Gildenleaf's nightclubs, Euphoria. That was how he met Inanna Hoole, who briefly worked as a manager of the club. Inanna saved Ayreon from being dismembered by a club patron, and Ayreon returned the favor when an assassin showed up to kill her. For this, Inanna would buy Ayreon from the company, making him into her personal companion. He mostly served as a pilot, driver, and bodyguard to the Shi'ido, who also sent him on jaunts to gather intel and even provide aid to her allies and friends.
While Inanna was receiving training from Vanessa Vantai, it was Ayreon who formulated a plan to help her escape. The plan failed, and as a result Vanessa downloaded his personality into a computer core, while his original X-1 body was destroyed. Inanna transferred the contents of the computer core into a new body, the X-3 Myrmidon—a considerable improvement over his previous unit.
But as has always been the case for Ayreon, things changed around him while he remained the same. Inanna married and settled down to start a family. With little use for a walking tank of an HRD, she sent Ayreon to accompany her old friend Bithia in her travels throughout the galaxy. Over time, Bithia grew increasingly corrupt, engaging in unscrupulous mercenary work. She ordered Ayreon to act as a hitman for hire. It was during one of these murder attempts that Ayreon ran into Inanna again by chance. She was quick to subdue him, and after learning what Bithia had become, confronted her old friend. Bithia betrayed Inanna and attempted to kill her before she was defeated, arrested, and sentenced to prison. Inanna once again took Ayreon in, having him serve as a companion for her elderly mother-in-law.
Finally, with the passing of a droid rights law in the GA, Ayreon gained independence. He now works as a private detective based out of the Vonnuvi.
