Unlike traditional corvettes or gunships, the Ghostlance forgoes a wide array of heavy armaments in favor of a heavy assortment of enhanced systems, variable-thrust vectoring sublight engines, that allows for extreme maneuverability in both space and atmospheric environments. Its hull features layered plating giving it solid durability without sacrificing speed. With the limited armament the ship is equipped with however it is more than capable of aiding in either ground suppression, or enabling the vessel to escape should other systems fail to provide alternatives to brute force.
The ship’s most notable feature is its limited internal hangar bay, capable of housing multiple speeder transports, shuttles, or infiltration pods, or alternatively a small squadron of escort drones or light fighters. The hangar is reconfigurable for mission-specific payloads and includes rapid-launch systems for high-tempo operations.
A specialized suite of advanced systems allow the Ghostlance to mask its emissions, communications, and even visual signatures at close range.
Designed for elite units, the Ghostlance often carries Special Intelligence Recon Detachments (SIRD) or Jedi Shadow Cells operating under High Republic Intelligence Services authority.
