  • EMP/Ion - The Parabrite/Dunalmite alloy paired with the Kirishima Cap Drains makes this vessel highly resistant to the effects of either energy, allowing it to shrug off attempts to shut down systems inside the ship and even transferring the energy to shield power.
  • Stealth Polymer - During the process of construction, the materials were doped with HPI's stealth polymer, and while the surface of the ship is still highly reflective, run of the mill scanners notably have difficulty picking up these ships at times.
  • Hull Integrity - The Ossis II framework gives the ship an incredible amount of integrity in regard to kinetic resistance such as ramming or even direct kinetic hits.
  • Heavy Hitter - The Munition Frigate model is optimized for missile saturation, with forward mounted weapons meant to punish anything ahead of it.
  • Agile - The Lancer model is focused on moving with the fleet rather than speeding ahead while boasting an alarming agility to bring its weapons to bear on designated targets.
  • Shield Projection - The Aegisbound-class are meant to work as anchors in a fleet formation, able to aid vessels with shield projectors to bolster their shield systems in drawn out engagements.

  • Variables - While the ship benefits from the NVOId systems, in combat situations a direct strike to the engines will potentially damage the adjustable systems and either lock them into that system, or disable the unit.
  • Not Impossible - While the stealth polymer helps to avoid being found by passive scans or run of mill scanning systems, higher end scanner systems are able to find the ship with ease.
  • Built In - While the Ossis II frame provides many benefits, in field repairs are highly difficult due to the complexity of the internal framework.
  • Min-Maxed - The ship has a large spread of ordnance systems meant to disable or take out a vessel at range, and is vulnerable to vessels closing the distance.
  • Limited Weapons - The ship is loaded to the gills with ordnance weapons for area denial protocols and tactical strikes, with a majority of its launcher banks forward fixed requiring the ship commander to plan ahead for potential starfighter encounters.
  • Power Signature - The ship lights up scanners with both active and redundant reactors to power the shield projection system alongside its heavy weapons emplacements. Once the vessel fires, hiding it again requires a miracle.

The Aegisborne-class Munitions Frigate is an ordnance-heavy escort frigate engineered to linger within fleet formations, delivering sustained missile and munition salvos while acting as a shield projection and battlefield control platform. Its tall, narrow hull concentrates fire-control systems, magazine vaults, and shield generators along a reinforced central spine, allowing the vessel to maintain high combat output without breaking formation or exposing vulnerable allied ships.

At the heart of its offensive capability is the M.I. Universal Ammunition Feed, an automated, modular loading architecture that allows all M.I.-pattern launcher systems to draw from shared internal magazines. This system enables rapid reconfiguration of payloads mid-engagement—ranging from kinetic penetrators and ion warheads to proximity bomblets and area-denial munitions making the Aegisborne exceptionally adaptable against capital ships, escorts, installations, and massed fighter formations.

Primary direct-fire armament consists of four dual-mounted PGEM Standard Turbolaser Cannon turrets, meant for point defense, precision strikes, and sustained fire operations. These cannons are fire-link capable, allowing tandem fire control, staggered firing patterns, or independent operation depending on tactical requirements. While not intended for broadside dominance, these weapons provide reliable defensive coverage and finishing fire against pre-softened targets.

The ship’s main offensive weight comes from its extensive launcher network including the four M.I. Light Ordnance Launcher banks mounted dorsally and ventrally for flexible targeting arcs and saturation fire, two M.I. Medium Ordnance Launcher banks located amidships for sustained fleet-support bombardment with two M.I. Heavy Ordnance Launcher banks mounted on reinforced arm structures, reserved for capital-grade strikes and hardened targets and six Assault Concussion Missile Launcher banks for anti-ship and anti-formation attacks rounded out with eight PGEM Bomblet Generator Mk V launcher banks, enabling wide-area denial, fighter suppression, and precision submunition deployment

Together, these systems allow the Aegisborne to maintain continuous missile pressure over long engagements, cycling payloads through automated reloaders without requiring disengagement or external resupply during standard combat operations.

Defensively and tactically, the Bastion Escort is equipped with powerful forward-mounted tractor systems, including two R.S. Eri Heavy Long-Range Tractor Beams supplemented by two standard tractor beam projectors. These systems allow the ship to arrest, reposition, or subtly realign enemy vessels at varying ranges by holding targets steady, disrupting evasive maneuvers, or pulling hostile ships into optimal firing geometry for coordinated fleet strikes.

Complementing its weapons suite, the Aegisborne’s shield projector arrays are designed to extend protective coverage to nearby allied vessels, forming overlapping deflector envelopes within formation. Rather than relying solely on its own durability, the ship functions as a defensive keystone, reinforcing carriers, command ships, and logistics vessels while delivering relentless, long-range ordnance fire.

In combat doctrine, the Aegisborne does not charge ahead or operate independently. It holds position, locks targets in place, saturates the battlespace with precision munitions, and ensures that the fleet around it remains shielded, aligned, and lethal.
