STANDARD FEATURES
This ship retains all of the military-grade features of its class, notably:
ADVANCED SYSTEMS
Strengths:
  • BattleNexus: The Valiant is fitted with a fleet support module; the BattleNexus systems assist in battlefield data processing, targeting, correction of sentient error and increased effectiveness across all connected vessels.
  • Jamming Beam: The Valiant is equipped with a jamming beam that allows it to project a disrupting field, which disrupts firing control systems of specifically targeted vessels.
  • Heavy Hitter: The Valiant has been equipped with a pair of orbital autocannons, which are recessed into the ventral hull when not in use, that are capable of extensive damage to even heavily protected targets.
  • Humpback Design: The more built-up rear dorsal section of the Valiant brings a large improvement to structural integrity and strength.
Weaknesses:
  • Command Vessel: The Valiant is a fleet command vessel, so it is at its strongest with a fleet; a lack of more assault-capable vessels is a detriment to its deployment effectiveness.
  • In or Out: The Valiant has guardian-class shielding, however in order to use physical resources - such as its starfighters or the orbital autocannons - those same shields must not be active.
  • Singular Jamming: The jamming beam can only target and affect a single vessel when in use; priority and maintaining lock is essential to use.
  • Blind Spots: Like most conventional Star Destroyer designs, the stern lacks dedicated weapon defenses, leaving it less defended than the rest of the vessel; as such, it requires support from other vessels and starfighters to compensate.
  • Energy Hungry: The more specialized advanced systems of the Valiant require considerable power to utilize and as a result must be used individually to avoid damage to the vessels power reactors.
Description:
The Valiant is a vessel of impressive size, armament and operational systems. The First Order commissioned the Star Dreadnought for use within their navy to be commanded by officers appointed by High Command. Not only does it boast numerous Chiss-designed advancements to weapons, defenses, systems and components, but it uses the hybrid-hyperdrive for incredibly accurate microjump capabilities. With a plethora of weapon emplacements, powerful shielding, reinforced structuring and hull plating, as well as some specialized systems for completing specific tasks - such as a fleet support network - the Valiant is a force to be reckoned with. Yet, like most Star Destroyer designs, there remains some defensive shortcomings.

In order to successfully utilize its weapons and shielding to full effect, specialized systems must be used individually to avoid overdraw on the reactor cores. Additionally, the Guardian-class shielding is incredibly powerful, able to deflect both energy and molecular damage; yet, in order to use its full arsenal, the Valiant must not use that same shielding, to allow internal mass through. Despite the shielding strength, when an entire fleet is firing on a warship continuously, even high recharge shielding has its limits. The Valiant also holds a good-sized complement of starfighters and support craft, while also having several rapid deployment modular garrison bases, for ground force support.

Two less common systems on the vessel are the Crystal Grav Trap sensor array and the BattleNexus module:

The grav trap sensors assist in detecting stealthed vessels, by utilizing mass shadow assessment to determine if an object is in a portion of space, but isn't visible. The second advanced system is known as the BattleNexus Control System. Being a fleet flagship, the vessel is designed to provide a range of support for fleets, and the inclusion of dedicated data processing and tactical analysis computing systems allow for far improved operations efficiency. When the BattleNexus Control System is activated, the dreadnought's sensors, tri-trackers, recon droids and hyperwave transceivers access nearly any information-exchange source in-system, applying security scans and purging viral-infected data, before it is correlated and processed through a devoted droid brain computing suite. That large amount of data is then fed through a battlefield holographic control interface, where analyzed and accordant data is then sent to targeting computer linkup helmets on gunnery and sensor crews. This suite then maintains consistent monitoring of fleet-wide targeting data, weapon triangulation, formation movements and other inter-vessel statuses, before applying real-time assistance to alleviate systems on vessels assigned to Valiant's fleet.

The result is an increase in fleet performance, especially targeting and firing solutions, as well as battlefield awareness and processing. So, by handling common sub-routines and processing packages, the fleet can target, fire, move and adjust vital systems more effectively and in faster time-frames (effectively a technological form of Battle Meditation - minus the erosion of opponent will).

When it comes to the advanced hybrid-hyperdrive, the engineering teams constructed larger units well-suited to propel the Valiant into hyperspace easily, simply and efficiently. The hyperdrive is capable of incredibly smooth transitions in and out of hyperspace, as well as having dedicated advanced systems for microjump calculations and executions. Combined with the vessel's HIMs integration and enhanced navicomputer, it is able to perform some impressive microjump strategies. Because of the larger size and more powerful outputs, the hyperdrive has reached faster speeds than the other smaller vessel hyperdrives.

All in all, a well-rounded dreadnought capable of leading fleet formations in combat, while offering highly effective crew and vessel effeciency improvements to assigned fleet vessels as a flagship; however, due to the spread of specialized systems, and the subsequent power requirements, the Valiant isn't as offensively powerful as it might have been to compensate for the support focus.
