DESCRIPTION
Based on the Semira, the Lucian works in relatively the same manner with the exception of the siphon. Instead of leeching or siphoning away enemy shields, the Lucian force-feeds enemy ships their own energy weapons. The Lucian features many of the same components with some obvious changes, more absorptive capabilities and of course retribution and xythan components.
A self-boost is also on the Lucian but works only in emergency situations, and not on an at-will basis as the Semira is capable of doing. Vulnerability to kinetic weapons is most notable when the Molecular Add-on is activated. The Polarization Add-On is based on the resonance-absorption abilities found on the bioconstruct known as the Shadowfang Beast. This is then combined with already available polarization technology. The Force-Feed back incorporates the best of both the Xythan Force Shield and the Retribution Feedback Shield in order to ‘force-feed’ enemy ships their own weapons at full capacity.

SPECIAL FEATURES
Reinforced Shield Generator: The Lucian at its core is a deflector shield, but rather a reinforced deflector shield generator. A stronger variant of a standard deflector shield utilizing ray/particle shield generators. It does feature three add-ons to help carry the Lucian throughout lengthy battles.
Molecular Add-On: An ability that can be enabled/disabled by bridge crews this add-on grants the Lucian a ‘temporary’ immunity against plasmatic attacks, including ion and emp weapons.However, this greatly affects the shields ability to handle kinetic attacks from weapons like mass driver cannons, hypervelocity cannons and other projectiles. Force-Feedback Add-On: An ability that can be enabled/disabled by bridge crews this add-on grants the Lucan the ability to absorb enemy energy charges/weapons and return all energy through a feedback pulse back to the enemy ship. [1 Post]
Polarization Add-On: An ability that can be enabled/disabled by bridge crews this add-on grants the Lucian the ability to absorb enemy charges/weapons and use that energy to strengthen itself, or convert the energy and use as a self-boost later on. [2 Posts]
Add-Ons: Three abilities that can be enabled or disabled by the ship’s bridge crew to keep the shield going throughout long combat battles.
Reinforced: Utilizes the reinforced deflector shield that increased the power of ray or particle shields within the overall deflector shield generator.
Feedback: Utilizing properties of both the Xythan and the Retribution Feedback, the Lucian is able to return enemy weapons fire (energy weapons only) in full force.
Add-Ons: While the shield has three abilities to choose from, there can only be one ability active at any given time. Meaning no two abilities can be activated at the same time, let alone all three. Any attempts that this will disable the shield completely due to an overload.
Kinetics: When the Molecular Add-On is activated, this leaves the shield and the ship extremely vulnerable to kinetic weaponry such as hypervelocity cannons, projectiles, and mass drivers.
Regeneration Rate: Because it can store and boost its own shield strength the regeneration rate of the Lucian is slower than that of other shields i.e., conventional deflector shields. This allows for a greater ‘bleedthrough’ effect (the ability to mitigate overall damage, as some may still slip through and make contact with the ship’s hull).
