SPECIAL FEATURES

 • Shell Treeworm Silkweave; created by weaving Shell Spider Silk and Kashyyyk Treeworm Silk. Shell Spider Silk could deflect vibroblades and blaster pistols, and Kashyyyk Treeworm Silk was valued for its tensile strength. The Silkweave is created by weaving the two silks together. The Silkweave is then threaded into itself, this process is repeated until the Silkweave has been folded or threaded up to twelve times. Layers are angled slightly on each weave creating a lattice structure. The final product results in Silkweave with high tensile strength, and as a higher than average resilience with blasters/plasma and kinetic energy. The Silkweave is not built to withstand extreme heat, cold or sonic energies.

 • Durasul Fibermesh; Utilizing a Verpine Fiber Ultramesh as a base, this is then layered on top of a Durasul weave. Durasul is a combined Durafiber and Insulfiber weave, Durafiber is a tough, pliable fabric developed for use in the vacuum and in environmental suits. While, Insulfiber was an insulating material that was also used to protect against exposure to a vacuum. The layers are alternated and threaded together up to twelve times. Each layer is crossed over one another forming a lattice structure. The final product is a durable fibermesh able to protect against exposure to the vacuum, unfortunately given it’s role. The Durasul Fibermesh is susceptible to strikes from lightsabers, vibroblades and the like.

 • Reinforced Duravlex; Combines Duravlex, an alloy made with kevlex and a high grade of durasteel, it was used to protect against high heat. This along with duraplast that has been reinforced to be extremely resistant to emps and ion cannons while also offering very strong protection against lightsabers. The two materials are pressed and woven together with alternating layers, forming a lattice structure. This is done up to twenty four times to create a resilient material that can withstand a very high heat and is extremely resistant to ion and emp attacks. While also being very strong to lightsaber attacks the Reinforced Duravlex isn’t completely impervious to them. Nor is it completely impervious to other blasters/plasma type attacks.

 • Durafoam; Made with Durafill, a dense adhesive used as a sealant for filling small dents formed in a starship’s hulls sustained with travel. Filla-foam, an emergency patching foam that could be used to seal vacuum breaches in the hull of starships. The two components are mixed with polyresin an adhesive that could also be used to seal breaches. The result is durafoam, a sticky foam that is able to fill in medium to small dents along with seal breaches in a starship’s hull. The durafoam built to fill in dents, and aid in sealing off hull breaches the compound is rather susceptible to ion and emp damage.

 • Myogel; Lined in hexagonal patterns, thermal gel is built within two sheets of myoflex, myoflex was best known for its heat dispersion. While Thermal Gel is best at absorbing kinetic impact. This is layered in alternating directions up to twenty-four times. The final product is a kinetic absorbing gel, sandwiched between heat dispersing plastics. This is not meant to withstand ion and emp barrages.
Strengths:

 • Shell Treeworm Silkweave: High tensile strength, with a higher than average resilience to plasma/blaster type weapons and kinetic energy.

 • Durasul Fibermesh: Built to withstand exposure to the vacuum.

 • Reinforced Duravlex: Able to hold up to lightsaber attacks, plasma and blaster fire. Capable of withstanding extreme emp and ion cannon attacks.

 • Durafoam: Built to fill in dents, and aid in sealing off hull breaches in the event of an emergency.

 • Myogel: Kinetic absorbing gel, sandwiched between heat dispersing plastics.

 • Kinetic, Heat: This complex liner made from various compounds was built to withstand kinetic barrages and handle very high heat, and disperse this heat throughout multiple layers.
Weaknesses:

 • Shell Treeworm Silkweave: Susceptible to extreme heat, cold damage and sonic energies.

 • Durasul Fibermesh: Susceptible to strikes from lightsabers, vibroblades and the like.

 • Reinforced Duravlex: While able to withstand some lightsaber/blaster/plasma types of energy is unable to handle them completely.

 • Durafoam: Weak to emp and ion energy.

 • Myogel: Not meant to withstand emp and ion energy.

 • Ion, Emp, Cold: A lot of the compounds created for the complex liner are susceptible to cold damage, along with emp and ion energy. Even with one of those compounds being made with reinforced duraplast it is only one component in an otherwise complex liner.
DESCRIPTION
A new form of liner created to better withstand kinetic impacts, distribute heat while still handling emp/ion cannons. This liner is created by layering multiple compounds over one another while slightly angling each layer. Each section has several threads or layers of a compound, threaded one on top of the other to increase the liner's overall strength.

Durasilk Thermafoam is created with intricate layering, alternating in directions. Each one crosses one another forming even more lattice structures within the product. Shell Treeworm Silkweave is the outermost set of layers, followed by Myogel underneath it and behind that is Reinforced Duravlex. The core of the liner is the Durasul Fibermesh surrounding Duraform, and are then once again followed by another set of Reinforced Duravlex, Myogel and the Shell Treeworm Silkweave.

The main purpose of the liner is to handle kinetic damage and then heat, anything else is to be held up by other parts of the hull or additional layers of reinforced duraplast outside of the durasilk thermafoam. Unfortunately many of the components that make up the compounds are suspectible to ion and emp energy.

Created in an limited test production to see how it performs in the field, the idea of the liner began after the Battle of Hoth. When the Galactic Alliance took Kuragin, a space station in the Anoat Sector. The utilized a type of boarding pod that created a hole in the hull of the station. This meant that anyone near those sites were immediately sucked out into the void. In truth, this is a proof of concept run and is expected to be improved upon in the later generations.
