[Echani Command] Our Night in the Moon

"We are..." but he was cut off, a weight lifted from his shoulder, "..." and nothing immediate to say for it.

Somewhat relieved to have his 'mother' taken off of his hands, all Yuca can do is watch [member="Manu Xextos"] steer her and release a breath he found himself holding on many-an-occasion ever since he had been released from the Sleep. Having never been raised by [member="Ahani Najwa"] made feeling any familial tie or associated embarrassment at her state a nigh-non-factor; blood couldn't be denied, for certain, but feeling more than basic decency towards her, through the lenses of Echani and Cronese lines of thought, was difficult. She couldn't be blamed for what was done, nor the ripples that reached him and his due to Raien Keth, his father by genetic means... but if not for that, he would never have been here. He would have been scrawled in the notes of history, a name in the annals of his descendants. Some of whom were here, proud Echani, a people woven into the fabric of his being.

"Thank you... brother," that term was more apt for the now than the endearments of a grandparent used in his childhood. He glanced after the blonde queen, [member="Spencer"], wondering how that placement had come about, but the knowledge that his people returned to their true way of government by her edict put some respect for the rather un-Echani woman in his mind. And so far, so good - none had taken his likeness in its blistering similarity to his father as an affront. The name of Keth, as he understood it, was still tarnished even in this age. Raien had been this far out, too, but was, blessings abound, dead as dead could get, so he had been informed.

One less thing to make into purpose, then; finding his place in this universe was turning out to be no small feat.

This 'princess of Eshan' thing wasn't anything she ever thought she'd have to take seriously, but as she put away childish things, reality became more real than it ever was, and it was more than the full maturation of her brain that pushed her into this place: Adas wasn't going anywhere, thank the Force, but it had taken much to grant that extension to the once-limited life of the barkspawn, and she could have done none of it without [member="Liam Quez"] at her side, as he was while they walked arm in arm, through the ballroom, their 'dog' following along.

"I don't think we've been to a party where my mother wasn't present since the 'pack," she mused, sliding a hand up his arm to his shoulder, "and I don't think any of them are here."

No, this wasn't their crowd. For her part, Ibaris wore an off-the-shoulder, light blue ballgown, enough differentiation to set her apart from [member="Spencer"], whose more youthful likeness she wore - she had to mind what she wore, lest people confuse the two of them with each other. That she was the only person present with a semi-corporeal sithspawn in tow helped to mark her as 'not the queen'.

"Hey, look," she gestured to another blonde head, [member="Josh DragonsFlame"], across the floor, "I was wrong - you aren't the only human interloper at this festival, after all."

She turned, and pressed a peck to Liam's jaw.

When Alex and Ar'ekk approached them, Ra gave them both a friendly smile and a hug for Alex if it was something acceptable. Not sure what was or wasn't, she felt like giving her a hug.

"It's nice and a surprise to see the two of you here."

They had met on Veradune a few months ago, both needing to be there for various reasons. After having a very interesting and friendly conversation, the two of them had parted ways and had a run in at another ball that was put on by the Hapan's. It was there Ra had met Ar'ekk and spent the evening eating, drinking and dancing with him there. That was the last interaction she'd had with them.

What Josh said confused her though, Alex looked the same as when she met her a few months ago.

"She might. Alex, do you know anything of this festival?"

The Lady in Silver/Grey Historian
Clothing and Staff

"Shut up..." Was all she could say when he mentioned her being beautiful, smiling to herself and leaning her head down slightly. Normally that would not throw her off but [member="Arekk"] was a friend and she still was trying to stabilize herself within her new body and mind.

"As for the drinks... probably something we should both find before this night is over. Though I will need to let go of your arm if you intend for me drink with you. The Staff makes it a bit hard to use my other hand." She smiled and to emphasize her point she let the staff tap a bit louder as she carried it and used it to lean on. Normally she would not even think of bringing something that could be considered a weapon but the embarrassing fact of the matter was she was still unsteady because of her body's new proportions and the infernal tail she now had, something she had made certain to hide with her Illusion. Without the Staff, she would probably be stumbling more than a few times tonight.

@Ra'a'mah and [member="Josh DragonsFlame"] turned towards their direction and soon she was being hugged by the former, an action that made Alexandra's grip on her staff to tighten, and her other arm to tighten for a moment around Arekk's. It would not take long for her body to relax though, remembering that tonight was a happy night, that she had come to her Father's home finally and is around people she could consider the same as her... even if she was no longer biologically so.

Then came the question about the Festival and she blinked, smiling a bit and shaking her head in answer. To tell the truth, she had very little understanding of her Father's home, what little she had learned was from him and from diary and journal entries left behind for her incase he had died during his prize fights. She wondered from time to time what it was that she had never come to know, but now she could figure that out.

"To tell the truth, No I don't. I haven't actually been here for decades so its hard for me to even think about what this festival could be for. And my father didn't tell me much about the holidays of his home, so I can't even use that to fall back on." She looked at the two a bit apologetically.

[SIZE=10pt]Spencer smiled softly and shook the man’s hand for a moment then returned it to her side. She could feel the confusion emulating off him, the empath was to in tune with the emotions of the room. Maybe that was a good thing since she had hung up her war face and decided to take a more diplomatic role. When she was at the side of Darth Desimus she had been trained heavily in diplomacy and the use of her empathic skills during said meetings. A part of her wondered if that was all part of Ashin’s plan in the beginning for them. [/SIZE]

[SIZE=10pt]“Hunter, I like that.” Spencer nodded as she began to nibble on the lemon bar again. Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed [member="Zanira Fenni"] gathering food for herself. The woman was always on guard, always prepared for the worst in a situation so it was nice seeing her take a moment to care for her wellbeing. As she watched Zanira, she used the Force to tease the woman making her plate shake from time to time and for pieces of food to be carefully placed back where she had gotten it from. Spencer did her best to keep her laughter quiet as she continued to speak to Hunter. [/SIZE]

[SIZE=10pt]“Are you enjoying yourself? Why do people call you Hunter? What do you hunt?” She was curious, nicknames always had a delightful story behind them. [/SIZE]

[member="Shaun Irons"]

The woman had only pulled her hand down for a moment, to replace it at her mouth with some food. Yellow and reflective, it could only be lemonbars. I knew of such treats. My father used to make them. To be correct, he would attempt to make them, but I would eat them all the same. It reminded me of my father and his disappearance after my leaving. What pulled me out of my little stupor was the fact the lady was smiling quite a bit behind her hand. She was paying attention to something else, but was still invested in the conversation. I smirked lightly at the question posed of my name.

"My father was not fond of city-life. We lived well far away from any kind of city or town and so we relied upon hunting our own food. The first couple of weeks that I had been on my own, a couple people called me hunter with the bow I carried around. Kept the name since then."

I tilted my head down and away from her. Thinking over the time that I have had here in general so far. It was enjoyable, but not quite my cup of tea persay. I enjoyed the high rises, the masses of people that I could blend into, and the interaction with many people around me, but I would always love the outdoors, and the wilderness that I had grown up in. While as a child I only wanted to walk in the city and to run around and play, I could see now how my father loved the soft winds, and the calming silence of the forest. It was soothing as opposed to the stress that can build up anywhere else.

"I am enjoying it the best I can. Not my place, but I will do what I can."

I hope she didn't mind that I didn't completely answer what I hunted. In truth, I worked for some... unsavory people who had me hunting for wealth, people, glory and other things I tend to keep separate from my real life. However, if pressed, it was simple. I hunted animals and creatures that had a price on their head. Using their hides for my shope and or whoever pays for them. Very true in all respects, but not the complete truth. I had a life I wanted to keep away from everything else. So I did.

"So can I assume that the use of the force is to keep yourself out of sight?"

The ever so slightest smirk escaped my lips. One to explain quite a bit of myself. Yes, I could feel the force. Having been given "the gift of the moonlight" as my father always stated, I did feel the subtle use of it, but could not tell where she was directing her power or usage. She seemed alone at the current moment. Either she was playfully hiding from someone, or as the Queen she was attempting to mess with her guards. Which would be quite enjoyable given her stance.

"Or shall I keep this on the down low?"

[member="Spencer"],

Kat noticed that the queen was busy with another Echani. Stepping away, she was glad that no one had heard her 'sup' conversation starter again. Moving around, Kat finished her drink and stood on her own with a sigh. Why was parties so difficult for her? Last one she was at was the Hapan party, that had been an embarrassing turn of events. So much so that Kat almost swore off attending them again, however, her mother and sister insisted that she attended the event in their family name. Her sister too pregnant to be able to cope with the walking, her mother had not been well as of late. Her brothers were off fighting in battles elsewhere, so the only one left was Kat. Which was annoying in Kat's mind, she was sure her mother was faking being ill just to make Kat attend against her will.

Looking over, Kat saw that Master DragonsFlame was having a conversation with several people, she heard parts and it seemed like they weren't sure what they were doing here or what the festival was about. Kat hesitated to step in again but her body already made the move. She walked over to them and coughed politely to draw attention to herself. "Hi, so this is the Lunar festival, a celebration of the moon, which we Echani feel a deep connection with, being so pale and silver. It is also a party to celebrate the ending of conflict on Eshan, that is at least what my sister mentioned when I talked to her about it, she's a politician and hopes one day to be part of the Echani Command."

Kat paused to let the information she shared sink in, then turned to grab another drink, something less alcoholic and just something to hydrate herself.

Location: Eshan [Palace Docking Bay]
Wearing: This

glimmer.png

Srina Talon had not returned to Eshan since her initial departure quite some time ago. It felt strange to be in this sector of space, let alone, to stand at the precipice of actually setting boots down on the ground. Boots. If only she was actually wearing boots. The white-haired Echani stood in a silvery gown that she had worn to visit the Fel Empire not long ago for a diplomatic meeting. It might have been in poor taste to wear something a second time but in all honesty, it was the last thing on her mind.

She had never been good at trying to be the docile and polite woman. There was literally a small crew of droids that helped her get ready for events like this. They had only just landed in the Ferocity at the private docking area and Srina found herself standing between two people that meant more to her than they knew. Her sister [member="Nysana Talon"], beautiful as the dawn and a perfect wit to match, stood to her left while [member="Aryn Teth"] stood to her right on the bridge.

Silver eyes flickered between them.

“Please. Tellu.”

The Exarch of the Confederacy did not explain. She did not elaborate. This was the woman, family or not, who had nearly buried her on Maramere. Her rage had been a fine cultured wine that led her to bring down a halberd like the hand of some kind of long-forgotten deity. It was warranted. Beyond, warranted. Her pain was unfathomable.

That didn’t mean it didn’t hurt.

The typically whisper-silent warrior waited for her sibling to make the choice. Throughout the entirety of the trip, she had felt the tension building. From the invitation, this gathering was about peace, and the celebration of the Lunar cycle. It was the closest thing Eshan really had to a holy event. “Not today?”

Any day—but today. No doubt Nysana was feeling the strain of returning to their home. Srina could feel the presence of their mother, stirring in the ether, like some giant beast awakening from slumber. Aeris Talon would not be pleased that her children were so nearby and had not come home. From what Srina understood, from the ramblings of Tellu, the matriarch of their house was on a warpath. Despite her icy temper even she would observe the peace of the holiday. She shifted from one foot to the other as she prepared to move if necessary. Not to intercept—Oh no. That would only make things worse. If Nysana thought that Aryn was unworthy of her presence now that would only increase if she stepped in.

The shimmersilk of her gown caught the light. It was stark ivory with silver accents and hung to her slender frame as if she’d been poured into it. It was off the shoulder, much to her chagrin, but Srina’s learned sense of modesty was mollified by the there-and-not there flesh-toned fabric that covered her arms. There were no visible weapons on her person, but like any good Echani, that was hardly the truth. The two plain silver rings on her fingers would more than suffice if something went awry.

“We’re late…”, she breathed, knowing, that they’d already missed the opening speech. There hadn’t been any call to specifically RSVP and they weren’t nearly important enough for the Queen to actually expect. [member="Jyoti Nooran"] was perhaps the only one who would know her face, whom, she suspected may also be present.. “—And we have a job to do. We need to discern the stability of our home.”

This way, when they took their vengeance, as honor and code dictated—they could do it cleanly. Quietly. It wasn’t their goal to draw the eye of the crown. They simply needed to know if the planet was stable enough to provide the appropriate level of justice. When Srina had been sent away that hadn’t been the case. Regardless, they would attend this event and remain the perfect guests, and before they returned to Confederate space they would have a plan of action.

All of her training with her Master’s Holocron would finally be of some use.

Ra would suggest asking Alexandra, and he nodded his head. When they approached, he noted Ra giving her a hug. They knew each other then? Interesting... Alexandra was a long time friend of his, while Ra was a... Well, she was a new friend. Though they had gotten fairly close rather quickly, which would explain why he had chosen Ra to come with him for this. That and she was used to accompanying him to engagements anyway. They had a zoo trip planned soon, if he recalled. Ah, yes, to try and make up to Jason for the whole zoo chaos and porg exploding deal.

"I don't get a hug?" He joked toward Alexandra. Though he frowned when it turned out she didn't know much about this festival either.

"Well, chit" Josh remarked. "Guess that makes three of us. Or four?"

"Whatever you say, Alex."

Interesting. Ra had a date tonight too for the occasion, not that he really cared about such trivial thing considering they weren't even together but the whole thing made him ponder heavily on the matter.

Probably day-dream too as he zoned out too long that he wasn't aware of what was going in his sorroundings until he snapped out of it.

"Hey, you two. How's it going?"

One hug for the red-haired girl and one firm handshake for Josh who striked him as very familiar particularly. Maybe he had seen him during his younger days at the Silver Jedi Order or perhaps he was imagining things.

Either way, it didn't matter at all. They were there to have fun and that was the end of it, hopefully the drinks would be served swiftly enough.

A hug was given to her by Ar'ekk and returned before she went back to stand next to Josh. It soon became clear Alex didn't know the reason for the festival either, but an answer would be provided by a stranger that joined them. Not wanting to make the woman feel like a fifth wheel, she turned slightly to give her room to join them.

"I was unaware of any discontent on Eshan so it is good to know that has been taken care of. Thank you for the information on the festival. I really appreciate it. Call me Ra."

She extended a hand to Kat to shake and looked between the others a moment later.

"I'm doing well, Ar'ekk. Much better than when we met. No threat of death hanging over my head anymore. What about the two of you?"

Alexandra smiled as she looked at Josh when he asked if he would be getting a hug. The woman walked over and embraced him for a moment before backing off and speaking.

"Always the Jealous one I see Dragonsbreath, do try to curb that sometime in the future, ehh?" She smiled and made certain her tone was one of joking and obvious in its intent. He was a good friend and Alexandra was interested in the light that seemed to grow in Arekk's expression. She had seen people zone out like that in the past, so she knew what might be going through his head.

It was then that [member="Kat Decoria"] spoke and Alexandra smiled in appreciation, understanding the connection rather quickly and happy that such a festival exists. Her hands crossed behind her back and listened while Ra talked about when they had met. It was an interesting story that alexandra would need to pry out later, but for now she simply answered the woman.

"Ive been doing well. Dragged this one with me so that he could have some fun and not be coped up in his home all day."

@Ra'a'mah [member="Arekk"] [member="Josh DragonsFlame"]

After shaking the hand of Arekk, Alexandra would come forward. Josh rolled his eyes and didn't dignify Alexandra's comment with a response as he would gently but firmly embrace the Echani when she came over. It seemed that indeed it was four who did not know, as Alex's date just seemed to zone out instead with little words. Luckily [member="Kat Decoria"] had come to save the day, as she would then to arrive to explain to him, Ra, [member="Arekk"] and [member="Alexandra Feanor"] that the festival had significance in regards to Echani history. Also the whole thing about silver. Which Josh admittedly couldn't identify with as he seemed to have mainly inherited his father's looks. Poop.

Regardless, he would smile and nod his head in thanks toward Kat. "You seem fairly knowledgeable about the Echani" He would observe aloud.

Kat smiled at everyone who offered their thanks in explaining the Echani way, seemed they were unaware of the Echani traditions and the recent issues that Eshan suffered. Strange, but then if not born on Eshan then they might not have a connection with it. Kat lived out her childhood on the home planet of Echani. She grew up knowing all the traditions and ongoings, her father would bring home gossip, her mother said father loved gossip as much as he loved fixing things.

Taking a sip as she remembered those happy times, she reflected on her big lif changes before Master DragonsFlame interjected with his question. She blinked for a moment, was he not knowledgable about his home planet? "Well, I was born here, I lived here for most of my life and I, urm, said my sister fed me some of the more recent news about Eshan, Master DragonsFlame." Kat uttered as she felt shy in front of a famous and popular man within the Silver Jedi Order.

Cleaning up and dressing to the occasion was something that Liam looked forward to. It did come with the territory when you dated a princess or whatever Ibaris was. Now that he really thought about it, his casual pet name for the spoiled girl carried some weight to it – which he was extremely unaware of until recent. His hand rubbed against the scruff on his chin, he was trying out a new look to be more rugged and mysterious. Very space cowboy, he would reassure Ibaris with.

He wore a nice suit and tie, finshed with a pair of black slacks and jacket. His shirt was a blue that matched the gir-woman he was with. She clung to his arm which was something Liam felt he would never get used to. Ibaris was one that stood off, was overly independent, but the moment she realized she couldn’t avoid his dashing good looks, she fell for him. The peck on his cheek snapped him out of his little daydream and he looked towards the blonde man.

“Huh seems to be the case. I didn’t notice because um you’re way prettier than that woman over there. She’s pretty burly – maybe she’s a Mandalorian too.” Liam nodded towards the same man that Ibaris pointed out, [member="Josh DragonsFlame"]. “I do have to say, you mighty pretty all dressed up like that. You should do it more often.” A stupid little grin spread across the space fairing Mandalorian’s face as he pulled his date closer, though he did look around to make sure [member="Ashin"] wasn’t around to snap his neck. When the coast was clear he kissed the princess on the lips for way longer than a few seconds.

Chikako had spent the past half an hour looking around the party, trying more or less to see anyone to talk with or those that seems familiar, so far her luck not being the best. Many she had seen were quite older then her, already talking with people whom they seemed to be well acquainted with, clearly she had been away from Eshan and the galactic politics. Such was one of the reasons why she had attended this whole party/meeting, though as it was clear to see mingling with others was much harder then originally thought.

It seemed though she was not the only one in this position, her eyes wandering over to a cybernetically enhanced looking Echani around the punch bowl, young enough to be one that may not really know much about the greater galactic diplomatic theater, and possibly be one that had spent a reasonable amount of time away from their home world. Keeping her usually childish smile Chikako walked over to the woman ([member="Kat Decoria"]) giving a small bow upon gaining her attention, "hello there, are you perhaps without someone to converse with? you seem to be just as lost as me when it comes to all the faces around".

[member="Kat Decoria"] - [member="Ra'a'mah"] - [member="Alexandra Feanor"] - [member="Arekk"]

The Jedi gave a warm smile to Kat, in thanks for her giving what information she did. It was nice to have a friendly face that had a bit of insight into matters. As she would continue to divulge, he would listen intently, curious about what more he could learn.

"Oh really? I've never actually been to Eshan before" Josh would admit. "I'd only recently found out that one of my blood parents were Echani just recently, and have been trying to learn what I can. I knew a bit about Echani culture before this, but... There's just so much of it. It's incredible, trying to learn the ways of another people entirely all over again. It almost feels overwhelming, especially when you consider it such an important thing as I have been with what is, more or less, my own people. That importance puts a lot of pressure on learning it, to me."
