WHAT IS "The DUEL OF THE FAITHS"?
The DUEL OF FAITHS is a Story-Driven Side Story set in the aftermath of the Galactic Alliance and Sith Empire Invasion Thread - Return of the Jedi. It is the jumping-off point for a larger story campaign currently being developed called "Warlords of the Sith". This thread will act as the "First Chapter" to the Warlords of the Sith Thread Anthology - which will explore the machinations, insurgencies, plots, and rivalries of the Schism Sith that broke away from the Sith Empire.
The thread is imagined to be a story-driven skirmish with a heavy emphasis on interesting story-telling rather than any pursuing of "objectives" and "victory goals". The purpose is to introduce a mysterious Third Party to the on-going conflict between the New Imperial Order and Sith Empire - and whose story is told through epic plots of manipulation, subterfuge, and surprise/targeted attacks. Naturally, all parties from the involved factions are more than welcome to coordinate with this grand story campaign and not just in this thread. The Warlords of the Sith Story Campaign is envisioned to harken to the great stories told in Old Star Wars EU - great conflicts told in the series Tales of the Jedi, Knights of the Old Republic, and the Era of the Lords of the Sith.
WHAT'S THE SETUP AND HOW DOES IT RP?
As mentioned before Duel of Faiths is a Stoy-Driven Skirmish - the focus is for everyone to find a place in the setting and explore a personal story that adds to the overall narrative of the main event of the thread. So please give the SET UP a proper read and figure out how your character would act, what would they witness and how would they survive the events, and more importantly how would it impact them. This isn't just about finding a duelling partner - really try and write an epic story within the confines of the main event.
So What is the Set Up? The main event involves the surprise assault of the armada of the Warlords of the Sith - launched by Darth Voyance,
Kascalion Giedfield
and
Vora Kaar
. Their combined fleets will exit hyperspace over Korriban in dangerously close proximity to the fleets gathered over Korriban. But, Darth Voyance and Kascalion provide a devasting entrance. Using the powers of the Dark Praxeum (which can amplify any Dark Side Force Manipulation into monstrous size) the two combine their powers to unleash a Force Maelstrom of grand scale that bathes the nearby ships in a Dark Side Ionized Shockwave.

. Their combined fleets will exit hyperspace over Korriban in dangerously close proximity to the fleets gathered over Korriban. But, Darth Voyance and Kascalion provide a devasting entrance. Using the powers of the Dark Praxeum (which can amplify any Dark Side Force Manipulation into monstrous size) the two combine their powers to unleash a Force Maelstrom of grand scale that bathes the nearby ships in a Dark Side Ionized Shockwave.This causes all ships to momentarily power-down and require a sudden reboot of all systems. This allows the Warlords Armada to send out boarding parties. Darth Voyance herself aboard her Soothsayer Cruiser will lead the boarding parties against the Galactic Alliance Defense Force Navy and the Sith Imperial Armada. Meanwhile, aboard the Dark Praxeum, Kascalion and Vora will descend down onto Korriban's surface - landing the dark pyramid battle station right onto the sands of the Sith homeworld and unleash a full-scale assault on the New Jedi Order Knights and Sith that have remained after the battle. From there it is a titanic three-way struggle as Darth Voyance engages a vile scheme to slay all those who have opposed her, assembled into one spot.
So How Does it RP? Now a couple of points - the Force Ionized Storm is purely a plot device to initiate the boarding maneuvers. Because I figured enough fighting has gone on, on the surface of Korriban and it would be neat in Battle of Jakku fashion to have a bloody fight within the very ships themselves. Causing great destruction as entire ships are gutted from the inside and begin to sink through the atmosphere. The effects of the Storm are not permanent and serve as merely a dramatic entrance and plot device. They should dissipate after everyone has finished introducing their characters in the boarding actions. (Plus this gives our fleeters and starfighters something to RP about too).
As for the meat of the action - that is between the RP partners that are gathering to tell their story. Treat this thread, not as a skirmish thread, but a "Story Expansion Pack" - it is a setting to tell another story. Figure out with who and in what style do you want to tell a story. Use duels to tell about conflicts between characters, the confusion of a third party intruding and the chaos of having to survive a new battle just after a long hard-fought one.
And this next point is KEY: This thread is fully aware that the results of the invasion are STILL pending at this moment - let me be clear NOTHING about the outcome of this thread will impact in any way what Victorious or Losing Factions have in mind to do with the HEX. This thread is PURE STORY and will be used to establish IC events for the story of the on-going conflicts. It has NO MAP EFFECT. And was never designed to have any. So please leave all OOC preconceptions, prejudices, and gossip at the door. This is for fun and to act as a grand first chapter of the Warlords of the Sith Story Campaign.
HOW DO I SIGN UP?
If you have an idea of what character in what situation you would like to explore and with you - then feel free to tag anyone and discuss it down below. Afterwards, tag me and I will formulate a sign-up sheet below with explanations of what folks are up to. BE CREATIVE, BE EXPLORATIVE, and BE VULNERABLE with your characters. Make it interesting, have twists and turns, moments of betrayal and catastrophe and awe. Go wild but BE RESPECTFUL AND ENGAGING. And most of all: AIM TO WRITE A GREAT STORY (there is nothing to "win" with this thread).
As for the GO TIME on this thread: either in the next week or two. If other scheduling issues arise please let them be known to me or any of the FO's. Also to the FO's I know I have floated this idea to some and to others this is a surprise - I do apologize I have been busy myself and just wanted to get this idea out there as quick as possible. Again, this thread will have no effect on what you plan to do with the Korriban Hex after the Invasion Results are delivered. It is a pure story. Looking forward to what everyone has in mind - let's have some fun and write with a grand imagination.

SCENE 1: WARLORD ARMADA BOARDING
In this scene: Darth Voyance's Dark Praxeum unleashes a Force Maelstrom Shockwave that ionizes the space around it and causes a temporary shut down in all ship systems for both GADF and Sith-Imperial Armada ships. Using this cover, Darth Voyance launches her ships to ram and board all vessels to seek out GADF/Sith-Imperial Armada Commanders and kill them. This scene is primarily traditional close-quarters combat but in the new venue inside the corridors of ships. Fleeters are welcome to RP out how they react and how they will command their crews to handle boarding Warlords Sith but, there is no real Fleet-v-Fleet Battle here.

In this scene: After the Force Maelstrom attack, the Dark Praxeum is left to
Kascalion Giedfield
and descends to land directly onto Korriban's red dune tides. From there the Autarch of the Dread Ascendency will unleash a full assault on Sith-Imperials and New Jedi Order Strike Teams. This causes chaos on the ground as the new Third-Party has yet to be identified. Use the chaos to explore themes of confusion, surprise, and brutal survival as the Dark Praxeums powers wash the battlefield.Participants & RP Partners:
