  • As the Prophet of the New Sith Order, who heralded the arrival of Darth Solipsis as the foreseen Sith'ari of ancient prophecy, Darth Vinaze has returned from the exile he went into after the end of the Second Great Hyperspace War. As black tendrils of influence spread through the DARK EMPIRE, he has taken on a new form, returning from the Netherworld in a mortal Human body to fit the new playing field the Sith find themselves on. A staunch supporter of his new Emperor, he knows that this second chance at the destruction of the Jedi is ordained from the Darkness itself...

  • HISTORY

The story of Darth Vinaze begins on Umbara, where Derleth Par was born to an Umbaran academic and a mysterious wayfaring Nightsister witch. Though he was trained in secret from birth to use Dathomirian magic, but he was ultimately found in his teenaged years by the Sith, who inducted him into their ranks.

As an acolyte of the Sith, Derleth delved deep into the mysteries of the Force, profoundly captivated by manipulating the Force to imbue dark power in objects, and even living things, through Sith Alchemy.

In the early days after he killed his master and became a Sith in his own right, he could never take to the politics of the galaxy or bring himself to occupy some standing in the Sith Empire. An academic by blood, he embarked on the first of many sacred pilgrimages that he would take through his life, ending at the secluded world of Exegol, which would become a home to him in the future.

Amidst his journey, on the world of Ziost, he found a clandestine organization plotting treachery and sedition against the Sith Empire in the name of the old ways of the Sith: The Qotsisajaakar, Keepers of the Sith Code. He would swear an oath sealed in blood at the great Sith temple of Ziost, opening a new chapter for himself, and the Sith entirely.

When the Third Imperial Civil War began, the Keepers, in their haste to topple the empire of Darth Carnifex, aligned with the nascent secular Imperials of the NIO, only to be betrayed and discarded when their usefulness had ended. It was a prescient vision in the Force on the world of Borosk that had saved Derleth from walking into the trap of Operation: Kyber Dark, but he could not save his fellow Sith from the massacre on Bastion. Ultimately, his survival had amounted to little when the New Imperial Order had captured him, and though he escaped their clutches once more, he had been mercilessly tortured and twisted by the dark side into a grotesque Sithspawn shadow of his former self.

Upon his return to the Keepers, he had found alliances shifting, and a new even greater front against the Sith Empire had been born: The Warlords of the Sith. Having joined the Keepers and their leader, the Heresiarch Darth Voyance, in joining with fellow rebel warlords Kascalion Giedfield and Vora Kaar, Derleth would officially become known as Darth Vinaze.

Vinaze would slowly begin to shift his alignment away from Darth Voyance, towards Kascalion's Dread Ascendancy. On a journey to his beloved Exegol, Vinaze witnessed an overwhelmingly powerful vision in the Force at the foot of the great throne of Darth Sidious, a vision that heralded the arrival of the propheised Sith'ari, the perfect Sith to lead them and finally snuff out the light.

At first, Vinaze became convinced that the Sith'ari was to be his master of the Dread Ascendancy, and believed that in defeating the Sith Empire Kascalion would fulfill the prophecy and be able to unite the Sith. On Malachor V, deep in the great Sith pyramid, Vinaze allowed himself to be cleaved in two by an ancient Sith axe wielded by Kascalion, granting him his life force as empowerment, but dying in the process.

However, death could not keep him, for the prophecy had not been fulfilled. The battle on Malachor had claimed both his own mortal body, and the life of Darth Voyance, and it seemed as though the prophecy of the Sith'ari was nearing its arrival.

And it was, but in the form of a different Dark Lord of the Sith, one who had brought the Alliance to its knees in the shadows, one who had mustered the strength to destroy an entire planet, and one who had the authority to call a meeting of all the greatest Sith in the galaxy on Mustafar regardless of allegiance. It was at that feast most foul when Vinaze came to realize that Kascalion had merely been the final stepping stone, and out of the blackness like a strike of lightning the true Sith'ari, Darth Solipsis, had shown himself. The long quest to find him had ended.

As the Jedi of the Ashlan Crusade choked the darkness from the former Sith worlds of the Stygian Caldera, the Warlords of the Sith collapsed, their leadership dead or scattered to the wind. Darth Vinaze and Mandalore the Unchained would lead the remnants to their rightful place in the New Sith Order beneath Darth Solipsis, and on Exegol Vinaze would publicly proclaim Solipsis as the Sith'ari.

Serving the New Sith Order and the Brotherhood of the Maw from the shadows of the Netherworld, the Dark Spirit of Vinaze would often employ dark battle meditations through the Second Great Hyperspace war, consuming the fear of the Alliance soldiers and Jedi that were cut down on the warpath to Tython.

At Tython, that fateful battle determining the future of the eternal struggle between light and dark, Vinaze would give all the power he could muster to support the ritual, only to be interrupted and weakened by Eina, the Avatar of Ashla. When the ritual failed and Solipsis perished by the hands of the Jedi, the dark spirit of Vinaze was banished from realspace, and he would spend the next thirty years in exile, believing he had been wrong about the Sith'ari prophecy, and rethinking all that he had been through.

He laid dormant for many years, weakened from Tython, until he learned of the return of Solipsis, a second chance and proof that he had been vindicated by the prophecy.

His wicked laboratories on Exegol and Tash-Taral having been long expunged by the Jedi occupiers, he resolved to start anew. In secret he grew an artificial body that he would use to return as a mortal instead of manifesting as a Force ghost, difficult as his power had slipped away from him. In a new mortal body, he returned to the New Sith Order to serve the Sith'ari once more and finally destroy the Jedi...

  • PERSONALITY

    • Devout: Nothing will shake Vinaze's faith in the Sith'ari and the Dark Side of the Force
    • Callous: Telling it like it is and like it should be, Vinaze can come off as abrasive to those who are not on the path to the Grand Plan
    • Apolitical: Vinaze has never cared for the intricacies of politics beyond where it serves the spiritual needs of the Sith
    • Erudite: To learn is to cultivate strength, to cultivate strength is to unchain oneself
    • Irreverent: As a long time creator of Sithspawn, twisting life into monstrosity and inevitably death, Vinaze is completely uncaring for the sanctity of life and/or wellbeing.

  • NOTABLE SKILLS
    Sith Alchemist
For most of his time as a Sith, Vinaze has been a practitioner of Sith Science, turning men into beasts, imbuing weapons with evil power, and unleashing horrors into the mortal world all through the manipulation of Dark Side energy.
    Battle Meditator
Vinaze is an accomplished battle meditator, empowering his allies through consuming the fear of his enemies. He has employed the ability most notably on Malachor V, Coruscant, and Tython.
    Dark
    Sorcerer
Since his transformation into a Sithspawn, and then his death and passage into spirithood, Vinaze has been become primarily a practicioner of Dark Force abilities rather than physical combat, something he largely gave up after becoming a Lord of the Sith. Though battle meditation is a notable ability, he is also known to practice Deadly Sight, Memory Walking, and Mind Tricks.

SKILL PROFILE / OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES

It is known that Vinaze is a purveyor of Fear, and uses the evocation of terror and horror in his Force abilities. He considers fear to be the oldest and strongest of emotions, and the one which holds Sith back the most from breaking their chains as per the Sith Code. In enemies both light and dark he draws on their fears to empower himself, or uses their fears as vulnerable weak spots to make them suffer.
