Faction Cool Space Rocks [FWA]

Gida Luroon, the second-in-command of Darth Morta, felt like she'd been exiled; she was in the far reaches of the Unknown Regions, almost impossible to get farther away from her home on Krayiss II if she tried without quite literally leaving the galaxy. Seven standard hours ago, the Arbite-Class Cruiser Crushing Advance, retrofitted as a bulk carrier rather than for its normal planetary assault role, had dropped her, a company of Krayiss II Militia, a platoon of Voidmarch Rangers, and four members of the Crimson Oath on an unnamed moon of a gas giant in the Luminaria System. Two hours ago, the Crushing Advance had departed its cargo: modular base supplies, survey equipment, and a civilian workforce nominally employed by Eclipse Industries were hastily assembling.

She was not here in exile, nor was her small band of troops or civilians;
Gida was here to establish a foothold for her dark Mistress in the Unknown Regions in the form of a mining operation to fuel the forges of Eclipse Industries and to acquire the rarer materials for Darth Morta's personal projects. The Vong-Amolgus symbiote that she wore shifted against her skin; the pain of putting it on still echoed in her mind every time it made its presence known, but its protection was worth it, she could take a lightsaber strike to her chest, walk under the stars of an atmosphereless rock, use the gravitational manipulation of a dovin basal, heal from wounds normally lethal, and even modify her own apparance.

As
General Laroon looked over the base and the alien surroundings, one of the Crimson Oath troopers approached her. "General, the prefab base compartments have been fully assembled; the Rangers have started to move out in teams to map our surrounding areas, civilian crews are preparing equipment to take geological surveys, and the Militia teams have settled into a defensive posture, watching for any of the locals who may have noticed the Crushing Advance."

The Oath trooper left after making his report; Gida would communicate any changes in orders if there were any. The trooper also avoided bringing up the fact that any help was days away at best, the next routine check-in was in a month, and the only hyperdrive-capable ships on hand were a trio of shuttles; if any ships came up from Centerra, they were on their own in negotiating or fighting.

Darasuum Morut and escorts, patrol pattern around Centerra

Centerra was far larger than really any other world that Nyles had ever served in the space around before. It wasn't exactly the easiest world to patrol around. For that reason the Morut and its escorts had deployed their contingent of RP01S 'Sur'ulur' Recon Probees across the system till theyh could get the planned infrastrucutre of industrial, defense and monitoring stations up and ready.

Of course that was the benefit of network centric warfare, if one unit detected a potentioal hostile, all units were now aware. "Alor, ship signatures detected at range. Cruiser analogue. Systyem's flagged it as a Sith-built warship, but there's some noted discrepencies in the stored design and what we're seeing," informed Anni Kyrdol as the main tactical display adjusted to reflect the same.

Nyles sighed in the privacy of his own buy'ce. For shab's sake. One peaceful tour was that too much to ask for? Boring? haran elek, it was, but frankly at this point a little less action may not be the worst thing. He wasn't the workaholic adrenaline junkie his vod'ika was, a little peace and quiet now and then was aboslutely not a bad thing.

"Hail them," he said after a moment, audibly exhaling. He glanced at the display, they weren't Sith flagged or they'd already be shooting at them by now and the message would have gone out of warn their allies. Well, it never paid to be safe rather than sorry, or whatever the aruetii line was. "Bring the formation up to full combat alertness," he said out loud, mostly for his 2IC, Emri Kyrr, but for the others as well.

"Elek, alor, charging the main gun, bringing the ship up to combat alert," said Emri. The 'general quarters alert' alam sounded, along with the automated voice that beckoned the crew to their stations in both Mando'a and in Basic. The slight hum of the main guns starting their charge cycle could be heard above the sound of the commotion of the bridge.

"You're patched in, alor," announced Gett Netra, the Morut's comm officer, a moment later. The connection status icon in his HUD confirjed the same a moment later. Nyles double checked the ship's name on the display; the Crushing Advance. That was a Sith name if he ever heard one, but it wasn't a Sith transponder. Well, a Sith sounding name wasn't a capital offence.

"Crushing Advance, this is the Strill Securities warship Eternal Haven on official Farworlds Alliance tasking, shut down your drives and state your intentions. You have less than five minutes to comply. If we detect weapons charging, we will open fire. If you attempt to maneiver, we will open fire. You have been warned. This is Alliance space and you're not on the approved vessels list. Explain yourself," ordered Nyles over the comms, cutting his buy'ce's mic a momenty later.

Nyles cut the connection and turned to where Gorse Netra, his gunnery officer, sat in his station. "Gorse, full gun and miscle lock, show them we're deadly shabla serious." The characterisitcally stoic Gorse replied with a qujick flash of his acknowledgement signal. Lines appeared on the tactical display to signify this, illustrating the firing solutions that Gorse had just punched in.
