HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The initial span connecting the Jar'kai was not constructed and attached, but rather carved directly from the mountain that once stood in its place. Ancient stone workers, utilizing techniques meticulously smoothed, cut, and shaped the incredibly durable kazue stone. They systematically removed massive sections for use in other construction projects, gradually revealing and refining the bridge that remained suspended over the chasm. This engineering feat left a structure inseparable from the mountain's bedrock.
The bridge itself hangs high above a daunting three-kilometer drop, towering over the jagged area below. The sheer cliff faces beneath the span have been purposefully sculpted and hardened, making any attempt to scale them virtually impossible. Its immense surface is dedicated to facilitating rapid transit, featuring both a primary smart road network and multiple train lines designed for armored and repulsor-driven trains. This dual infrastructure allows for incredibly swift movement, connecting Jar'kai not only to the outer defensive walls but also to the distant allied cities beyond.
Crucially, the bridge is as much a fortress as it is a thoroughfare. The native kazue stone provides exceptional natural protection for shield generators. Along its length are numerous integrated defensive features: pop-up turret systems are concealed beneath the road surface, ready to deploy instantly when needed, and strategically placed barricades allow the rapid establishment of strong defensive positions to control and secure the entire vital crossing. Biot and droid defenses are able to be used as the main gates function with turrets that can be used to hold the chokepoints on the bridge.

- Structure Name: The Bridge
- Classification: Bridge
- Location: Atrisia
- Affiliation: Atrisian Commonwealth
- Accessibility: The Bridge is a public thoroughfare and a critical piece of civic infrastructure. The main deck is open to all pedestrian and civilian vehicle traffic, serving as a common route for citizens moving between the two halves of the city. The North and South Gates are access points, but also serve as primary defensive chokepoints, monitored by automated security systems and periodic patrols. The underslung transit tunnels are restricted access, reserved for official and logistical use only.
- Description: The Bridge is a monument to Atrisian resilience, a formidable and functional kilometer-long span constructed from the same resilient Kazue stone as the rest of the city. Its design is clean, powerful, and unadorned, prioritizing structural integrity and defensive synergy with Jar'kai's network. The ten-meter-wide main deck is a bustling pathway, while its underside is a hive of logistical activity, housing the vital transit lines that are the city's lifeline.
- The Main Deck: The primary surface of The Bridge, a ten-meter-wide roadway of polished Kazue stone. It is divided into lanes for pedestrian traffic, cyclers, and personal anti-gravity vehicles. Low, solid parapets offer safety while providing clear lines of sight for defense. The stone itself is imbued with the same defensive energy-diffusing properties as the city's buildings, making the structure incredibly resilient to attack.
- The North & South Gates: These are not merely archways but fortified gatehouses made of reinforced Kazue stone. They mark the transition between districts and serve as the bridge's primary defensive positions. They house sensor arrays, retractable blast doors, and mounting points for emplaced defensive systems, allowing the Commonwealth to seal either end of the bridge instantly during a lockdown.
- The Underslung Transit Tunnels:The functional heart of The Bridge's logistical role. Carved directly into the Kazue stone of the bridge's underside are two separate, hardened conduits:
- The Gentoku Rail Line: A mag-lev track for the high-speed Gentoku trains, allowing for the rapid transit of personnel between the city's core and its expansions without interfering with surface traffic.
- The Smart Logistics Conduit: An automated, high-capacity tunnel for rapid movement of vehicles and soldiers.
- Integrated Defensive Network: The Bridge is not a standalone structure but a key component of the city's shield grid. The Kazue stone is interlaced with conduit fibers that synchronize with the central defensive systems, allowing protective energy shields to snap into place over the entire structure, protecting both the deck and the vital infrastructure beneath from aerial assault or artillery fire.
