MPLIED ODDS
Location: Voss-Ka
Objective: Spill Blood
Opposition: Laphisto Laphisto

A moment of respite as Laphisto retreated, relieving Kryos of the crushing pressure brought down by the large Draconian and his blade. But the world around them shifted chaotically as both men displayed their skilled command of the Force. The Dark Jedi could barely see his opponent through the swirling dust and debris, further stirred by the flapping leathery wings. But he never felt more alive.

He continued to draw the large stone toward them when he felt Laphisto’s pull. It was not just him; the entire wall was coming with him. Rather than resist, Kryos used the momentum to rise to his feet and lunge, having no choice but to embrace the pain in his knee as he stood. He let his original projectile from the left fall short, now focusing on the duracrete and stone at his back.

Propelled by fury and bloodlust, Kryos raged forward into the powerful Force pull, leading the way with the tip of his crimson blade. He joined Laphisto’s efforts to bring the chunks of the building with him, unconcerned with his own welfare, instead singularly focused on taking down his opponent in any way possible, even if it meant the wall crushed both men in the onslaught.

Judah had no name recognition for Miss deWinter, but the galaxy was full of wealthy sentients tucked away in their own corner of the galaxy. The only time some got out was for weddings and funerals. Miss deWinter could very be well one of those people. Either way, she was quite extraverted, already asking where she could get a decent meal.

Was this some insane way of asking him out? Or was she hungry? Or, as she mentioned, completely bored out of her mind at the proceedings of the funeral. Either way, he wouldn't have many answers.

"I'm not from here, haven't got a clue." A small pause a quirk of his mouth. "Not enjoying the free funeral spread?"

IMPLIED ODDS
Location: Voss-Ka
Objective: Get to the choppa!
Opposition: NONE!

“Well, let’s go!”

The Zabrak looked at his comrade expressing uncertainty. Benjen nodded. “Okay. Follow me.” Toman began the descent back to the first floor with Veda and Benjen on his tail. Veda couldn’t help but notice the mystics were awfully stealthy, sneaking down the stairs with ease. Shouldn’t be a surprise that the religious zealots knew how to move in secret. At the bottom of the stairwell all three men came to a stop.

Veda spoke in a hushed voice. “There are Black Sun thugs on patrol down here. How do we get to the wine cellar?”

“There is a small door on the left at the end of the main chamber,” Benjen replied. “It is a servants’ entrance. There is another set of stairs inside that leads to the cellar.”

“We need to be very quick and very quiet,” Veda stated the obvious. “Stay close to my six. If I start shootin’, you keep runnin’.” He took the lead and began his sprint across. The Star Grinder boots from Rara Gowisi Rara Gowisi ’s shop didn’t make a peep as he ran along the hard stone floor. But they didn’t do a thing to protect against a random henchman coming in on his assigned patrol.

Pew! Pew! It didn’t take long for the first blasts to sound out, but they were wild and untrained. “Go!” Veda yelled, but coming to a stop himself to line up his shot. Pew! Pew! Now, you know our fearless hero hit his mark with both bolts. The first was absorbed into the goon’s heavy chest plate, but the second was absorbed by his face. Satisfied with the result, Veda took off to join the two mystics through the old wooden door. Once inside, he slammed it shut and bolted it.

“Well, that’s done,” he joked, a bit out of breath. “Now what?”

“Here.” This time Benjen showed the way rounding two corners to another short set of winding stairs. This opened into a large room with racks and racks . . . and racks of wine.

Veda looked around, amazed. “You boys like to party, huh?” They didn’t take the joke well. Instead, they moved hastily between the rows and stopped at a dusty rug. One on each end, they carefully lifted it and sat it aside, revealing a trapdoor beneath. Together, they pulled the durasteel chain and opened the entrance to the tunnel. They hopped inside. Veda climbed down last, grabbing a bottle of red on his way.

“It’s pitch black,” he declared, trying to see anything in the darkness after they closed the hatch.

“Do not worry,” Benjen called, “We have the route memorized.”

“Well I don’t.” Veda reluctantly dropped the bottle and retrieved his flashlight. “Much better.” He showed the light ahead and followed the clerics.

It was impossible to tell how far they walked in the tunnel before popping up in a small bakery on the east side of town. Once out, they hid the exit again. “Someone has already come this way,” Toman noted, looking around the room.

Benjen nodded in agreement. “Let us pray they found a safe escape.”

They stepped into the street and started down the cobblestone road, trying to dodge anything with a gun or a laser sword. Then all hell broke loose. A giant boulder came hurling by, flying toward what looked like a Sith and a . . . A kriffin’ dragon!? Kryos Kryos and Laphisto Laphisto had their sabers locked before the Draconian leaped back. The side of the building started crumbling apart, then the man in black came flying toward the armored Jedi devil with the wall of duracrete and stone.

Veda could have watched this all day, but he’d have to wait until later to find out how it ended. Benjen and Toman had located the two mystics that beat them here, cowering in a corner away from the epic battle. “Tell your boys to come on,” Veda commanded, “My ship ain’t far.”

He led them out of the city to where the Rubicon was safely grounded. “All aboard!” The group ascended the landing ramp and strapped in, with Veda heading to the cockpit. Flip! Flip! Vrrrrrroooooooom! The YT-2400’s engines fired to life with a lovely roar. “Say goodbye to Voss-Ka.”

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is the story of how the Legendary Pal Veda once again accomplished the most heroic of feats, saving four valuable seers from the clutches of the evil Sith and the dirty Black Sun.

Kito Kito | Lysander von Ascania Lysander von Ascania

Mercy was about to tear the throat out of the second guard but someone intervened.

Someone far more interesting than a building full of corpses who didn't know yet they were dead. Mercy glanced towards Lysander and jerked with her head to the building.

"Continue the mission. I will handle this one." She stepped forward... stamping hard and crunching through the skull of the guard she had just killed. More a statement piece than necessity.

Lysander would handle making sure the corporation was dismantled. The snake's head cut off with her Graspborn's assistance. That only left this... interesting Jedi to handle.

"Mm, oh, darling... what use is power if you don't get to crush the weak under your heel?" Mercy murmured warmly, but there was a heat ripping through her eyes at being called a coward. Few, if any, ever would use that sort of word on her. Brash, arrogant, cruel, unthinking... but cowardly? No, Mercy was not accustomed to that.

"You prattle on a lot. If you want to die, come for your death then, I am right here."

Extending her arms, as if to hug Kito, except with a frame like that it was more liable to crush her.

He wasn't a local, so he didn't know. Well that was disappointing. Not the not-being-a-local thing, but the not knowing. She didn't know either.

When he asked about the free funeral spread, she chuckled.

"Never trust these things," the Sithling explained, "usually the funeral homes are the ones in charge of the catering. And they have their own wallets to think of. Food's more likely to include slow working poisons that won't directly kill you but may take a year or two off your lifespan per every few bites."

Did she sound like a lunatic? Perhaps. But, "I speak from experience, I used to administrator it," she smiled innocently and gave a shrug. She was young. She needed credits. She didn't care.

"Do you think they'll get on with the burying him thing soon so we can all just leave without potentially causing diplomatic incidents?"
she asked him, her glowing green eyes sparkling with curiosity. Usually, well-behaved people didn't approach her. Whatever this man's intentions were, she really hoped they weren't well-behaved in a way that would let this entire event continue as it had so far.

"I'm close to picking that casket up and tossing it into the ground myself."

She was quick, more lithe than he, but her inexperience showed through in subtle ways and mild miss-steps. The armor she wore appeared new and was annoyingly protective. If he had any kind of backup, Naami might be able to more easily assess it for weakness but as it was, he'd need to test for cracks firsthand.

Her move to press for more room, to keep him at bay worked to buy her mere moments. The big zabrak reassessed and pressed forward to give her little time for readjustment. The surprised, almost peppy words of his opponent made him scowl. Naamino disliked the dawning realization that his opponent was green indeed.

Ignoring the doubt trying to creep past his resolve, Naami traded a few testing blows with her then suddenly lunged low— adjusting the length of his saber blade in a burst, seeking to jab at her ribcage. In truth he was aiming to test a common weak spot beneath the armpit and just above the left side of her ribs, taking a guess that it might be her off-hand. He finished the move with a snarl and Force push, again trying to bowl her over but this time with metaphysical strength.

Meanwhile, the doppelgänger wasted no time in moving to defend the crumpled Mystics. It would be the double's last act, as he stepped seamlessly into the movements of Soresu and made to cut down the micro missiles with Woe. That damage caused them to explode and the doppelgänger dissipated. The lightsaber dropped, still activated, to hum ominously a few yards from those it had just been used to defend.

All the better, perhaps. Naami needed the excess energy he'd been burning to keep the double active and surely Darth Strosius could manage for the thirty or so seconds it might take him to wrap this up.

With the discussion in regards to the possible future seemingly having reached a grinding halt, Amalia calmly and politely nodded to the Mandolorian representative Siv Kryze Siv Kryze and the Black Sun leader Velzari Tharn Velzari Tharn , excusing herself in order to walk back towards Supreme Commander Marlon Sularen Marlon Sularen where she found him in a conversation with a woman whose entire profile seemed to exude elegance and style in a rather quirky fashion.

"My my, Lord commander," Whipping out a rather broad, yet somewhat unfeeling smile, the Governor of Corvus appeared right from behind the Supreme Commander's back, gently placing a hand on the man's shoulder for an instant before giving a couteous nod towards Dominique Vexx Dominique Vexx . "It looks like you are having quite the interesting conversation. My apologies miss...uhm..."

Tilting her head a bit to the side, Amalia turned her attention towards the Lord commander for a moment, hoping he'd at least chime in to give her the name of his conversation partner, before snapping back towards miss Vexx with a sharp smile on her face. "Amalia Visconti, Governor of Corvus and incidentally also Chief Executive Officer of the N&Z Umbrella corp."

With those words, the Governor of Corvus hoped to make it quite clear that the Imperial Confederation wasn't a newborn pup in terms of business nor the very partners it had in said world dominated by profits and deals. After all, the only companies even remotely in the same league as the N&Z were just as much feared as they were revered, from The Trade Federation to the IGBC, not many could claim their very actions could effectively sink entire systems if not entire sectors into ruination or elevate them into stardom with but a single signature.

The onslaught ensued, the cacophony of hums filling the air with a foreboding sense of dread--and danger. Whilst the Sith and the armoured man battled it out in their own manners, the lightsabers of the apprentices crashed over and over again. One, two, three. The Padawan counted, as she timed her strikes in accordance with his assault, drawing forth the knowledge from the training holocrons. Resilience, patience, it would all win the fight, rather than an impatient offensive. Isobel moved her lightsaber again, one of the pink blades colliding with the purple.

Her mind was drawn elsewhere, to the lectures from Jedi Masters, to the tenets of the Order, and to the cloud of worry still dominating the back of her mind--coming forth from the obscure message Lysander von Ascania Lysander von Ascania had sent earlier. Why? Became the dominant question; why her? Why was he in danger? Why? The thoughts forced her on a disadvantage, struggling to maintain a proper shield against the ever-growing force behind the Acolyte's strikes. There were no playful jabs, no charming words that left her, there was no time--no opportunity.

The peril worsened, glimpses of a future burdening her vision, as she tried her best to withstand the rhythm. The feinting strike left her off guard and just as she twirled the saberstaff right around, did she feel a burning ache near her ribs as the purple-bladed lightsaber pierced her bodyglove. A breathless gasp left her, as she tried to spare a moment to look upon the blade in her side, before being thrown far away from the fight. And from the Voss Mystics she so tried to defend. The moment she hit the soil, her weapon's blades retracted, and she was left defenseless.

Isobel did not try to look upon the masked acolyte in the distance, instead moving her hand to her wound and trying to recall the lesson Master Nytrau had given her. . .

Calm, focus on the Force. . .

Focus. . .

Focus.

The burn was slowly starting to cool, the pain dulling… until the shock surged up once more. Her vision a blur as the slumber took her. "Lys. . ." The words died on her lips.

Crush the weak under your heel…

Kito let the word sink in as the sound of bone shattered under the Sith's boot. She heard everything, the sound of the man's organ and bone squish as if it was nothing but filth in her way. Her grip tightened on the hilt of the odachi. There was something damned about the woman. Her confidence bled through the Force, the darkness thickening around the Jedi.

For a moment, Kito hesitated. She was alone — there was no one behind her to come save her if this went south. But she was used to being alone; this shouldn't matter.

Yet there was more, something more beyond her silly revenge.

Their conversation was over. Kito had nothing more to say to the woman. Her words continued to beat on the Shaper's ears, but beyond her was silence. This was going to be the last time this Sith breathed. Kito would end it quickly…

With a mercy the Sith didn't deserve.

The girl exhaled, and flame licked at the air as her focus and resolve centered her. Mercy held her arms out, stretching as if to hug Kito. She was so sure of herself, so positive that she could catch the Jedi. It was time to wipe the smug smirk off her face.

Her hip and foot twisted, facing forward towards the Sith. In the blink of an eye, the Force surged through her, launching her forward like a lightning strike. As she drew closer, the weight of the blessed odachi lightened, and Kito swung it from shoulder to hip with as much precision as possible.

With the strike, the almost white flame flickered along the steel; not only did the blade aim to cut, it aimed to burn.

Staring at the woman, Judah wasn't sure if she was joking or not. An enterprising funeral home could poison the patrons in attendance to drum up business. An interesting concept but one he suspected not at this event. Too many of them were offworlders. Either way she was correct in one way, the spread wouldn't be top quality, poison or nor poison.

Eyebrow arced when she mentioned tossing the casket into the ground herself. One,they were comfortably indoors. Two,caskets were heavy, what was she going to do, carry it outside herself. Three, it didn't seem as if that would let anyone leave in a diplomatic fashion. In fact it would create the opposite effect and sow chaos. Or...maybe not. The focus was on the dead old man's credits, not so much the funeral itself. Not as if there was family in attendance but there could be a friend of the deceased.

"I can't stop you. Might be less trouble to slip out quietly but,uh, we call have to make our own decisions."

Doing: Grabbing that casket that has an important person inside of it and looking for where to bury it so we can all go home

I can't stop you.

Scherezade grinned from ear to ear. That right there, four little words, perfectly harmless, perfectly wonderful. Permission, or at least the warm cozy absence of refusal. Whatever the man said after that about causing less trouble fluttered straight past her without landing. Her mind had already vaulted from idle to full throttle.

Thankfully she had skipped the heels for this ridiculous dress. Boots were better for bad decisions anyway.

"Hold my drink please." She flashed Judah Dashiell Judah Dashiell a sweet, disarming smile as she gave him the glass. She had no idea what she had been drinking, but she did know she had far bigger toys waiting to be played with.

Her notes had been simple. Somebody important died, everyone pretended to care, then everyone arrived here to prove how little they actually did. The whispers, the politics, the games. All of it dull enough to make her wish for blaster fire just for the ambiance. A funeral for the centuries? Fine. She would give them one worth remembering.

Odd though. For a man supposedly so significant, the guards around the coffin were suspiciously non-existent. Not that she minded. Opportunity was opportunity. She strode up to the casket and placed her hands on it, running her fingers along the side. Solid material. Good weight. Responsive enough.

Gasps started the moment she nudged it upward. A few inches. A little roll to the left. A little wobble to the right. Testing, testing.

Then Scherezade deWinter simply lifted the entire casket of Necal Dobwaran as if it were a toy fire truck some toddler had abandoned.

There was only one problem.

"Hey where did we designate the hole in the ground for this shmuck?" she asked cheerfully, glowing green eyes sweeping the room as she casually started walking, coffin resting in her arms as she tried to find a door it would fit through.

Laphisto

High Commander of the Lilaste Order
Laphisto's lone ear twitched, catching the subtle shift of air pressure before the roar of crumbling stone drowned it out. His instincts sharpened in an instant. Through the dust-choked chaos he caught sight of Kryos hurling himself forward an avalanche of fury wrapped in flesh and crimson light. The Draconian hadn't intended for the wall to travel that far, but so be it. The battle had taken on a life of its own.

He stood his ground.

As the Dark Jedi closed the distance, the air cracked with kinetic tension. The crimson blade slashed through the haze, its light carving through the settling grit. Laphisto reacted in a single, seamless motion his left hand snapping outward, the vambrace flaring as his personal shield burst to life with a resonant whump.

The teal-tinted barrier ignited mere moments before impact. Kryos's lightsaber struck it head-on, the collision sending a cascade of energy rippling across the translucent field. The sound was deafening a hiss and a shriek of burning plasma against teh energy shield. though if teh saber managed to push through the shield it would be met with, the alloyed gauntlet beneath, holding firm, deflecting the strike aside in a shower of sparks.

Laphisto turned the parry sharply, knocking the red blade off-line in the same instant Kryos's airborne momentum carried him directly into striking range. And that was the moment the dragon struck back. He stepped forward into the charge wings snapping wide for balance and drove his helmeted brow upward with brutal precision. aiming a headbutt to meet Kryos mid-flight.

Kryos Kryos

His crimson blade met the shield with force, two immovable objects colliding in space and time. Kryos’s eyes glowed yellow, burning with fury, piercing, locked with those of the dragon just as were their weapons. He pressured forward, trying to drive his lightsaber through Laphisto Laphisto ’s energy buckler. Neither man would budge.

Curiously, their combined grit and power emanating as waves of energy flowing from their stalemate seemed to freeze the shattered wall in the air around them. Or perhaps their fight had taken on a supernatural speed, moving faster than the falling stone and duracrete. For a moment, their sheer will and determination appeared to save both from being crushed as they were locked into place.

But this moment was brief — only a flash. The Draconian maneuvered, pushing Kryos’s blade away to the side. Debris began raining down around them, and at the same time, Laphisto countered, his leathery wings extending and his helmet striking upward, coming straight for Kryos’s face. Ever stubborn, being driven by his own anger and frustration, the Dark Jedi prepared to meet the attack head-on, so to speak. Fate, however, intervened, saving him from his own recklessness. The shifting scene of unstable Force energy, locked and parried attacks, and falling rocks took Kryos off course, leading to the dragon’s helmet making contact with his right shoulder instead of his forehead.

Kryos felt the impact immediately, and it drove him off to the left and to the ground. He made a quick recovery, rolling backward over his uninjured left shoulder and coming to a kneeling position. With practiced precision, he withdrew a knife from its sheath on his belt and flung it forward, aiming for the only unprotected area that it may penetrate — Laphisto’s face.

Drego knew this wouldn't be so simple. It never was. Sith was tricky bastards, but he was full of tricks himself. But his first goal was simple.

He charged the sith lord.

Drego had once been described as a Living Avalanche, and today he put that name to the test. His armor would keep him safe long enough, and the sith's position now gave him an opening. Closing the distance, he raised his shotgun, and fired three times, six blasts of slug pellets blasting towards Strosius at a distance now close enough that only the sith's sword was now between them.

And yet, the spread was aimed in a very particular way. He wasn't just aiming for the sith. He was aiming for the mystics behind him.

Judah took the drink without thought. What if he was some type of sexual deviant who tried to drug the drink? However, as she picked up the casket and singlehandedly meant that she could crush him if she wanted to. Not exactly a thrilling thought and the entire situation was just odd. He didn't quite trust the funeral anymore - not that he did with Marlon Sularen Marlon Sularen 's shiny bald head poking around.

Sometimes you got to know when to run from the crazy. This was one of those times.

Setting down the drink of Miss deWinter, Judah kept his and slipped out the back door.

Vexx's response to his question was somewhat intriguing to say the least. While she didn't explain exactly why Denon had sought out a deal with the Imperial Confederation she did go on a long exposition about the commercial and political stances of Denon, which did give the Supreme Commander a clearer picture of why they were interested in working with the Confederation. If Denon truly operated to the extent Senator Vexx had explained then they could be an ideal ally for the Confederation.

"Well if you put it that way, i don't see why the Confederation couldn't work with Denon." Sularen responded, voicing his approval to her statements and eagerness to further work with Denon. "If you have the time and are interested, i can arrange a meeting with you and the rest of the Ruling Council to hash out the details and terms of any proper agreement that would be established between Denon and the Confederation" he added. Already with the vast corporate influence within the Confederation as shown with the N&Z Umbrella Corporation, the Santhe Corporation and Mahporeem, it wouldn't be too difficult to find a mutually beneficial deal between the Confederation Denon.

It was then that Governor Visconti arrived to rejoin Sularen having finished her prior conversation with Tharn and Kryze. "Ah, Governor Visconti. How nice of you to join us. I happened to be speaking with Senator Vexx in regards to the possibility of a forging a strategic arrangement between the Confederation and Denon."

"I would be honored, Supreme Commander." An arrangement between her and the Ruling Council would be quite the time saver. That was one of the greatest tragedies of the Galactic Alliance's present instability -- its collapse would require engaging in negotiations with countless worlds individually rather than a single, collective whole. It wasn't that Denon lacked the means, but it would delay the speed in which transactions could be established, normalized, and profited. A good negotiator was hard to hire.

Governor Visconti arrived and Marlon did the honors of introducing them. The Denonite smiled, not minding the 'intrusion' as a preliminary introduction had already been settled. "Director Vexx, please. Dominique. The Corporate Sector Authority is a fiercely independent body devoted to ensuring the free exchange of products and services. Denon is our industrious jewel." Dominique wanted to ensure a distinction between Denon and the High Republic was clearly made; despite their obvious ties there was no need for anyone to needlessly conflate their politics. "I'm delighted to meet you, Governor, and hope tonight's gathering has been uplifting in the wake of such tragedy."

"The N&Z Umbrella corp, of course. I've heard all about your growth over the years. From afar, sadly, our paths didn't seem to cross often. A time or two in the Galactic Alliance Senate for some niggling bill, no doubt. A pleasure that both our interests survived their ceaseless hand wringing."
Dominique's smile hadn't wilted a hair at Amelia's own introduction. If anything, the smile and her eyes grew sharper. Nothing said they had to be enemies. Their interests wouldn't always align, but Dominique believed it was always possible to negotiate worthwhile arrangements to forestall utter chaos. And like her opposite, the Denonite expected her to appreciate Denon's influence -- it wasn't merely one but countless corporations ready to do whatever it took within the guidelines of the generous Corporate Sector Authority's oversight.

Doing: Grabbing that casket that has an important person inside of it and looking for where to bury it so we can all go home

No one of any importance made any motion to stop her or even acknowledge what she had done.

A few NPC's hands twitched. A few voices stuttered half formed protests. No one actually moved. The coffin was already halfway across the hall by the time anyone seemed brave enough to remember they were supposed to be powerful.

Scherezade hummed to herself, a light, careless tune that clashed beautifully with the stunned silence from those who didn't matter. The doors became a problem far too quickly. She frowned at them, then at the coffin, as if mildly offended by the architecture.

"Honestly," she muttered. "You'd think a place like this would plan for larger exits. Or smaller corpses."

The Force curled at her fingers, familiar as always. The casket rose a little higher, rotated in the air, and glided cleanly through the doorway with surprising smoothness. Behind her… Frankly, she had no idea what was happening behind her, and didn't care to check.

Outside, the grounds opened into immaculate corporate landscaping. Perfect lawns. Sculpted stone. A fountain that probably cost more than several moons. Not a single grave in sight.

"Well. That won't do." She wandered a few paces, eyes narrowing as if searching for the correct aesthetic. Then she stopped. "This feels right."

Scherezade dropped the coffin unceremoniously onto the grass. The thud echoed, heavy and final. She rolled her shoulders once, as if loosening before a stretch, and crouched.

The ground yielded, peeling back like fabric, soil folding and parting as the Force pressed into it, obeying her whims with unsettling devotion. The hole deepened, wider, darker, a perfect resting place carved into pristine corporate perfection.

She peered into it, satisfied.

"There we go. Prime real estate. Near the fountain too. Very tranquil. The shmuck would probably hate it."

With a casual flick of her wrist, the coffin floated again, hovering above the open earth. She guided it down, slow and deliberate, until it settled into the pit with a dull, reverent finality.

For a moment she stood there, head tilted, considering the man inside.

"Necal Dobwaran," she said aloud, as if reminding him of his own name. "Corporate visionary. Stabilising influence. Terror of balance sheets everywhere." She thought for a moment. "You should've paid for better guards."

The earth began to close, soil layering itself back over the casket, quiet and efficient. Grass smoothed over. Not a single marker. No plaque. No name. Just pristine green as though nothing had ever disturbed it. Someone else could handle that if they cared enough to.

She brushed dirt from her hands and straightened, eyes gleaming faintly against the evening light.

"Funeral complete," she announced cheerfully to no one in particular. "You're welcome!"

Then she turned back toward the hall, lips curling into a pleased little smile. Now was the time for the after party. And not the time to realize that there was a hole in the ground, ready and waiting, only a handful of yards away. Whoops.

The Mandalorian hit the ground running, leaving little time for Darth Strosius to spare a glance to see how the Acolyte and the Padawan's bout was going. He did see the mirror image fade and drop the lightsaber that it had been wielding in its wake but He made no move to return the weapon to Naamino. Not with His armored foe bearing down on Him and the Mystics still blissfully unconscious and unaware of the combat unfurling around them.

While He wasn't the most experienced when it came to dealing with Mandalorians He had heard enough tales of Beskar and its resilience to know better than to simply fire off a few blaster bolts or even hurl His lightsaber and expect to gain any real advantage. Thankfully His foe was doing the hard duty of closing the distance between them for Him, all He had to do was be ready to receive and begin finding some gap that He could exploit for a killing blow.

Darth Strosius tensed and prepared Himself to leap at His foe only for the Mandalorian to start firing right before He could. Normally this would be of little issue, He had no doubts that His robes could take a few slugs without injuring Him in any meaningful way, but with as close as they were the shots wouldn't just hit Him. They'd easily fly past Him and hit the Mystics who were naturally far less armored and far more likely to be gunned down or bleed out by the time He finished off His opponent.

The Sith Lord had the time He needed for an opening, but such an opportunity would undoubtedly result in at least one of the Mystics dying in the process. And so with the need for a very swift solution yet unable to simply kill His opponent, instead of rushing forward to meet the Mandalorian He reared back and quickly summoned forth His strength to produce a shockwave within the Force. Not at all the most damaging of attacks against an armored foe, but more importantly it would divert the slugs before they could find the Mystics. Even if it meant delaying a proper strike on His end.

"A version of you?"

Tamsin saw it for what it was asking without trying to act like you were prying. The question didn't really bother her much it wasn't really something about her that could be exploited in any meaningful way. The deeper answer to the question down right frightened her though.

"I'm a clone." She said almost nonchalantly with a slight shrug. She was a copy of someone or something that lived inside and whomever that was, that was the answer that scared her and scarred her. That answer eluded her though as to who exactly she was a clone of.

She then listened intently to Anet as she explained what the deal was with the…what did she call them J'feh?

"You're playing a long con by being a loan shark, then?" She said in hushed tones. It was a simplistic way of putting what Anet had said. She had seen Hutts do it before, offering a cash infusion at an interest rate that seemed reasonable on the surface but was just out of reach to pay off without good luck.

"But every once and awhile you get the gambler who quits when he breaks even. I'm sure you got a way to make sure his ego stays bigger then his common sense?" That was thing with gamblers and people who bet on markets the bigger the wins, the more their ego over road the instinct to quit while they were ahead or even. Tamsin had seen people trying to beat the house but in the end the house always won because it cheated.

Tamsin didn't know this Bisqu Jarro in slightest, they could have been the nicest person in the Galaxy for all she knew. He was just having a bad spot in life and needed the help, yet here she was intrigued by the plot for his total collapse. The mechanics of how it would work and the strings that could be pulled.
