Starting 2020 Dominions off the right way!
The Bryn'adûl want to try something different this year, building a campaign around Dominions that utilises the Bryn'adûl as an unstoppable genocidal force. Attacking planets as the protagonist try to defend and evacuate as many civilians as they can. We hope this can make Dominions less boring and also bring attention to smaller groups, moving forward with collaboration in mind. Also, as we get closer to other Major Factions borders, this will also give those smaller groups an awesome way to begin interaction with them as well.
We also want to give our members themselves opportunity to develop personable stories and find rivals/enemies. I personally want to utilise Dominions as an opportunity to broaden the scope of what the Bryn'adûl have been thus far, and hopefully provide a big baddie for lots of people.
UPDATE:
With just how great the overall reception of this has been, we are starting this Dominion series off with the introduction of a new role within the Bryn'adûl; Warlords. An IC & OOC role for a middling area just beneath our Marauders. They will, alongside other High Ranking members of the Bryn'adûl oversee particular 'Campaigns' into areas of space, conquering a few hexes as part of a personal goal for themselves alongside overseeing the military attacks overall. Warlords or members of an equivalent rank will serve as the primary antagonist for our heroes.
This will be a mix of PvP & PvE for those who want with the Primal Architect doing some DM-lite for Bryn'adûl forces.
Every antagonist will feature on average for 2-3 Dominions to keep things fresh. For protagonists, we want to keep you guys on the defensive to maintain a sort of tonal consistency, and to keep everyone involved; we hope we have a different group of heroes for every dominion on a rotation, that way no one gets burnt out. Those who want to return can, but there is no obligation to do so. So we expect 3-4 goodies and 5 Bryn'adûl per Dominion.
