ADVANCED SYSTEMS
STRENGTHS
  • Flexible ship: Thanks to its well balanced functions and ratings, the Brutus class cruiser can take up many roles in any situation and|or fleet it finds itself in, going from supplementary carrier to patrol ship and even planetary suppression or defense. The fact that it can be utilized in such a wide array of roles allows for it to fit in almost every strategy and naval doctrine and a boon to every battle.
  • Fully automated: Like most other ships within the N&Z line ups, the Brutus-class cruiser 'AS type' has the benefit from the company's good standing when it comes to the creation and use of reliable droid cores. Outfitted with a ZEUS Mk II and additional processing power from Proton Mk I auxilary droid brains give this ship impressive tactical capacity, elevated emergency systems and better operating stats than even some of the company's battlecruisers.
WEAKNESSES
  • Exposed engine pods: Though this ship also possesses a large central engine pod mounted to the actual spine and hull of the ship, the four additional engine pods seperated from the ship also house the thrusters and the repulsor lifts, meaning that if these are damaged, the ship's maneuvrability is severely compromised and it no longer has the capacity to enter into a planetary atmosphere without having had the repairs done.
  • Fully automated: This ship is fully automated and thus can be very weak to EMP and ION weaponry when its shielding is down. Though systems can be rebooted, such efforts take time and effort, which in the thralls of battle may not exactly be what's on hand at the time.
DESCRIPTION

The Brutus-Class Cruiser was designed to be the backbone for many a fleet, though N&Z primarily focused the design and the engineering as part of an ever growing concern to improve the fleets of the Zweihander Union, as a company, it also saw value in selling it in various 'types' on the market. The first of these types to be released was the AS type, which simply stands for Automated systems and denotes that not unlike most of the company's ships, it relies heavily on the full automization through the implementation of a ZEUS Mk II droid brain, which in this case has been supplemented with Proton Mk 1 droid brains for additional processing power and capacity.

It's decked out with a small number of Turbolaser batteries along its central spine, with RTL launchers and LC-1 laser cannons down the sides to give that additional oomph. On the defensive end, the ship bosts a multitude of energy and heat sinks to draw away many of the damaging power of enemy weaponry, the multifunctional NZ SS-1 primera shield system and cap drains to avoid being ensnared into conner nets.

The ship has been designed in a more cigar-like shape, to maximize the use of internal space and allow for a greater contingent of fighters and support craft in its bays, but due to this, the design has the notable flaw in the form of the outward engine pods bein rather exposed contrary to the more usual wedge shape designs the company had used so far.
