PRODUCTION INFORMATION
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
SPECIAL FEATURES
STRENGTHS
  • Fast Track: All variants have a fast turret track speed despite the extreme weight and size of the weapons, the systems for which is in fact is where a notable portion of the tank's weight comes from.
  • Versatile and Heavy Weapons Loadout: All ST-01 variants have a versatile and very heavy weapons loadout, allowing them engage all manner targets, from infantry and light vehicles to heavily armored tanks and walkers and even gargantuan biological monstrosities.
  • Resilient: The tank is heavily armored, features ERA plates, combat de-ionizers, a pair of anti-missile octets and a shield generator. This enables it to take damage from a variety of different sources and of a variety of different types and come out intact.
  • Manda Tactical Battlenet: The Manda tactical battlenet gives crews a powerful data analytic and battlefield coordination tool that allows them to seamlessly share data with friendly infantry, other vehicles and even supporting aircraft, track and engage multiple targets easily with optimized targeting solutions, that also analyzes enemy tactics and can control and/or manage certain subsystems for the crew.
  • Automation: The load on the crew is reduced given that automated droid brains control the sponson, hull and pintle mounts.
  • Advanced Sensor and Communications Package: The tank's advanced and communications package allow it to detect and track targets and threats at all manner of ranges and also ensure that coordination between friendly forces and the crew is both easy and secure.
  • Sealed Crew Compartment: The crew compartment is environmentally sealed, allowing the crew to survive hazardous environments, chemical and biological weapons, augmenting the capabilities of their own armor to do so.
  • Sensor and Comms Jamming: The tank features a powerful sensor and communications jammer making it potentially difficult for the enemy to engage them as well as coordinate against their attack.
  • Enhanced Communications (Command variant): The ST-01C also features a comms unit booster and a hypercomm, giving the unit the tank is placed in command of enhanced communication capabilities, allowing them to stay in contact with friendly forces in other theatres of operation or in orbit.
WEAKNESSES
  • Tracks: Should the tank become de-tracked, it will be rendered immobile, and while it now becomes a bunker, the fact remains that it is now much more vulnerable given that it can no longer maneuver to protect its vulnerable rear.
  • Extremely Heavy: The tank is extremely heavy, making it difficult to transport as well and also making it difficult for the tank to traverse certain sorts of terrain that would bog down heavy vehicles.
  • EMP/Ion: Should any EMP/Ion damage manage to get through the tank's defenses then there's a high chance that many of the tank's sensitive electronics would become rendered useless, rendering it blind, defenseless or even completely unarmed.
  • Automation: The tank's high degree of automation does mean it is all the more susceptible to directed slicer attacks, viruses and the like should they actually be able to affect the tank.
  • Aft Vulnerability: The tank's rear lacks the ERA the rest of the tank is protected by, and is where the tank's drive is located at. A penetrating shot will likely immobilize the tank.
  • Reactor: The tank's Isotope-5 reactor will detonate violently and spectacularly, taking the entire tank with it, should it overload.
  • Radiation: Should the tank's reactor be breached, it will leech deadly radiation into the rest of the tank, damaging sensors and other sensitive equipment.
  • ERA: The tank's explosive reactive armor means that infantry are forced to operate either directly behind it (where there is no ERA) or at the minimum safe distance, limiting how much supporting infantry can help screen the tank. Additionally, once the ERA plates are expended, they need to be replaced, and these tanks do not carry spare ERA plates.
  • Supplies: The tank doesn't have a particularly large cargo supply, and almost all of it is dedicated to ammunition storage. The tank doesn't contain much in the way of spares or tools for the crew to use, meaning that should the tank's maintenance droids be knocked out, the crew will essentially be forced to abandon the tank if they cannot repair it. Assuming of course, that there are no friendly forces nearby.
DESCRIPTION
"You think this will stop them?"
"It had better. We don't have many other options, and I'm not too keen on the others."
"One thing's for sure, it'll sure as haran make them think twice."
- Strill Securities Lataruta Ruus Kote and Ori'ha'aratr Aran Netra.

As a private security company, Strill Securities rarely ever needed the sheer firepower and resilience that a heavily armored super-heavy armored tank boasted. That changed when the threat of civil war rolled around. To combat the sheer number of heavily armored walkers, war droids and tanks that the clans of the Mandalore system could bring to hear in the event that they needed to go to war to protect their independence from a Mand'alor they didn't support, Strill Securities approached Breshig War Forge to develop an armored vehicle that would fit the bill in this regard. Breshig War Forge demoed the prototype for Strill Securities officers Ruus Kote and Aran Netra. Satisfied with the results, and prompting a somewhat more 'formal' testing, the vehicle went into full production.

The primary function of the tank was to be able to punch at and above its weight class as well as defend itself against smaller lighter vehicles, repulsor craft and enemy starfighters if needed. To do this, the tank's armament needed to be both extremely powerful, but also versatile. The two main gun configurations mount either the RHM-05 Repeating Heavy Mass-driver or the HCDC-01 Heavy Class-D Disruptor cannon in twin fire-linked configuration. Like the MBT-01 and the CHT-01 before it, the ST-01's turret allows for fast tracking speeds. The RHM-05's range, accuracy, stopping power, fire rate and sheer number of rounds available allow for the tank to engage a variety of different targets. The HCDC-01 on the other hand, while not nearly versatile in the traditional sense as the RHM-05, has the distinct advantage in the fact that few targets can withstand a class-D disruptor weapon of its sheer damage potential.
Breshig War Forge design doctrine places an emphasis on crew and vehicle survivability. To that extent, the tank is heavily armored, featuring stesr'gar frame and hatches as well as a stesr'gar-reinforced duraplast composite armor and an agrinium mesh liner. It also features Hexheim reactive armor manufactured by Ringovinda Systems to defend against any missile threats that aren't neutralized by its shield or anti-missile octets. The crew compartment features a zersium and thermal gel lining, and is environmentally sealed, allowing the crew to survive hazardous environments, chemical and biological weapons, augmenting the capabilities of their own armor to do so. Additionally, the tank features the company's soft-kill active protection system and vehicle-grade shield generator as well as a quartet of anti-missile octets, allowing it to remain resolute in the face of a great many different threats.
Even the regular variant of the tank possesses advanced communications and sensors. This allows it to not only detect and track a large variety and number of targets, but also stay in communications with the other tanks in its unit. Adding to and augmenting this is the tank's Manda tactical battlenet. The Manda tactical battlenet gives crews a powerful data analytic and battlefield coordination tool that allows them to seamlessly share data with friendly infantry, other vehicles and even supporting aircraft, track and engage multiple targets easily with optimized targeting solutions, that also analyzes enemy tactics and can control and/or manage certain subsystems for the crew. This increases coordination and efficiency of tank crews several times over, allowing for better combat performance from both individual crews as well as larger units. Additionally, much of the tank's supplementary weapon systems are automated, easing the load on the crew furthermore.
The ST-01C also features a comms unit booster and a hypercomm, giving the unit the tank is placed in command of enhanced communication capabilities, allowing them to stay in contact with friendly forces in other theatres of operation or in orbit. All variants of the ST-01 feature a powerful sensor and communications jammer making it potentially difficult for the enemy to engage them as well as coordinate against their attack.
The ST-01 is not without its own distinct flaws. Chief among them is the fact that it is a tracked vehicle. Should the tank become de-tracked, it will be rendered immobile, and while it now becomes a bunker, the fact remains that it is now much more vulnerable given that it can no longer maneuver to protect its vulnerable rear. The tank's rear lacks the ERA the rest of the tank is protected by, and is where the tank's drive is located at. A penetrating shot will likely immobilize the tank. The tank's extreme weight makes battlefield recovery and deployment difficult, especially should it be rendered immobile.
Unfortunately, the tank's high degree of automation does mean it is all the more susceptible to directed slicer attacks, viruses and the like, should they actually be able to affect the tank. Additionally, should any EMP/Ion damage manage to get through the tank's defences then there's a high chance that many of the tank's sensitive electronics would be rendered useless, rendering it blind, defenseless or even completely unarmed.
While it is the beating heart of the tank, the Isotope-5 reactor will detonate violently and spectacularly, taking the entire tank with it, should it actually overload such as in the case of it sustaining catastrophic battlefield damage. Should the reactor be breached, it will leak deadly radiation into the rest of the tank, damaging sensors and other sensitive equipment, wherein once more the tank could potentially be rendered combat ineffective.
The tank's explosive reactive armor means that infantry are forced to operate either directly behind it (where there is no ERA) or at the minimum safe distance, limiting how much supporting infantry can help screen the tank. Additionally, once the ERA plates are expended, they need to be replaced, and these tanks do not carry spare ERA plates.
Finally, the tank doesn't have a particularly large cargo supply, and almost all of it is dedicated to ammunition storage. The tank doesn't contain much in the way of spares or tools for the crew to use, meaning that should the tank's maintenance droids be knocked out, the crew will essentially be forced to abandon the tank if they cannot repair it. Assuming of course, that there are no friendly forces nearby.
