STRENGTHS
  • Rapid Fire Destruction: The four laser cannons on the Delta-7B have been replaced with four BAR-1 Autocannons, drastically improving the craft’s rate of fire and degree of firepower to allow it to deliver a salvo of hyper-accelerated antimatter osmium rounds in a frighteningly brief time frame, affording it the capability to “shred” through small craft, vehicles, weak points of larger ships, and, emplacements at a blistering pace via pure volume of explosive antimatter firepower.
  • Electronic Warfare: Featuring a comprehensive suite of electronic warfare systems, the pilot can utilize these systems to dazzling effect in virtually any given battlespace, confusing missile tracking systems, jamming enemy sensors, disrupting targeting systems, and more. In effect, judicious application of these systems can make the fighter an extreme, yet hyper-lethal annoyance to enemy gunners, pilots, bridge officers, and other naval crewmen.
  • Field Disruption: The modified Delta-7B’s field disruption system allows the craft to slip under a large warship's shielding so that it may fire directly on the hull. While this feature is limited in practical application to large vessels with non-conformal shielding, it is nonetheless a powerful technique that a skilled pilot could take advantage of to potentially lethal effect.
  • Slow Healing: The incorporation of Laminanium into the hull of the Delta-7B affords the craft self-repairing capabilities, though this specific process is not nearly fast enough to perform to any viable degree in combat.
  • Ghost Buster: Equipped with an extensive sensor system, the sensors on the modified Delta-7B are further augmented from stock with an array of anti-stealth sensors which are capable of detecting vessels equipped with advanced stealth technology. However, their effectiveness also depends on the operational circumstances.
  • Shadow Runner: The Delta-7B is equipped with a comprehensive stealth suite, allowing the craft to maintain a tiny sensor reading even under intense combat conditions, and a nigh-nonexistent, if not entirely invisible profile during standard operations.
WEAKNESSES
  • Shield Disruption: The field disruption system disables the Delta-7B's shields during the period of its activation.
  • Disruption Backfire: Absorptive types of shielding, such as Molecular or similar types of absorptive shielding, are capable of resisting the field disruption module by directly absorbing the “disruptive energy shields” projected by the field disruption module, preventing the craft from filtering through in the process. More aggressive types of reactive shields, such as Xythan Force shields, are able to absorb these “disruptive energy shields”, before violently discharging them back at the Delta-7B with potentially deadly results, while also preventing penetration.
  • Double-Bladed Sword: In carrying a large quantity of ammunition with an antimatter payload, there is an additional risk of enemy fire penetrating the armor covering the internal hardpoints and maintaining enough power or energy to detonate the stowed rounds. In this event, there is a near-certain chance that the Delta-7B will be destroyed entirely, given the extreme likelihood of ammunition going off in sync with the initial detonations.
  • Sensitive Passive Sensors: The passive array of sensors on the hull of the modified Delta-7B is an extreme boon to the operators’ battlespace awareness, especially in conditions where the use of active sensors may reveal the craft’s location. However, They are also very vulnerable, as even glancing blows can destroy or disable the sensors on or even around the affected areas. In essence, as the hull takes more hits, its surface-integrated passive reception array will become increasingly ineffective.
  • Automation: As with any technology that is supported by a suite of automated processes, the disabling of these systems’ supporting data-brains, whether via EMP/Ion discharge, concentrated slicing, or in rare cases, jamming, will negatively affect the operating efficiency of the craft.
  • No Ordnance: The lack of any missile or torpedo armament means that the craft is wholly unable to engage targets beyond visual range or even at the edge of visual range. In effect, this means that the pilot must close to engage targets, especially given the lack of non-fixed forward weaponry.
DESCRIPTION
Originally manufactured over 800 years ago by Kuat Systems Engineering during the peak of the Clone Wars, the Delta-7B assigned to BB-610 was a barely functional craft due to many years of inactivity, having not seen any combat during the ancient war. However, after the droid was taken in by the Agents of Chaos, the craft was refurbished by First United Astral Engineering in 862 ABY. Upon the completion of the extensive refit, Bella was tasked as the craft’s pilot by the Armada, to be accompanied by BB-610 as her astromech co-pilot and mechanical technician.

Among the many enhancements made to the ancient machine, the most significant was the replacement of the four laser cannons with four fast-firing antimatter autocannons, augmenting the craft’s firepower to a very high degree. This improvement, in addition to the optimizations of the craft’s engines and maneuverability systems, makes the craft an extremely formidable dogfighter. In situations where speed is needed in order to facilitate an escape or a tactical repositioning, the Delta-7B was also fitted with a SLAM, allowing the pilot to extract herself from an engagement when necessary.

Since the Delta-7B is a single fighter, no expense was spared in adding cutting edge stealth systems and anti-stealth sensors, allowing the craft to maintain a negligible, if not entirely nonexistent sensor profile.

All in all, the modified Delta-7B is a significant modernization and refit over its previously outmoded state, upgrading the craft into a reliable and hyper-lethal dogfighting specialist.
