Elaine was late, and that made her sad. Hay she had to get her hair done first, and nails, and a wax.
She had her usual escort of housecarls, but they where under strict instructions, not to be seen.
As soon as she entered she head down, she took a glass of red wine and took a sip. She then looked for somewhere she could been seen by people easily, but not look desperate for someone to dance with. She could see a lot of people who higher up in echelons of Galactic Alliance, but none who she knew would dance with her or even give her a second glance.

We all play our parts.

Be it due to duty, loyalty, or a sense of preservation.

I am no different.

I have done all I could in the time allotted to me.

The slight quiver of fingers were well hidden between the thick folds of the luxurious skirt that trailed behind her. Poised and with a grace that belayed her youth, Queen Versai slowly ambled her way from the royal suite into the grand corridor. The great hall was not far, but for the young Queen, every step seemed to be swath in agony.

A blessing, that the artifice upon her delicate angular face hid the pallor that had grown there. Hints and notes of things that could be easily disguised by a too tight corset for her short of breath. The strain of rule may account for the slight bit of tension around her lips. Perhaps, even, the relief at being able to once again, be free of over-watch from the Techno Union.

Less than a handful knew the true reason. The underlying truth that had been agonizingly kept hidden from the population.

The young Queen was dying.

A trumpet call across the Great Ballroom would announce her arrival. In the wake of the low murmurs coming to a lull, all eyes would rise up towards the top of the stairwell that would reveal the Queen's approach.

"Presenting, Her Royal Highness, Queen Versai."

"Such is the way of galas. Some of us are here to decide the fate of a world, and some to meet their most recent paramour for the evening."

His brow furrowed as he looked from Voidstalker to the woman Lady Cardei had called Imperieuse. He'd heard the name once. His old spymaster had spoken of a man with that name and his holdings during Graxin's regency over Ession. He knew nothing of the greater name, however. His lips parted to speak further, but a buzzing in his ear stole his words. He fell silent as he listened.

"Your nephew is returning. The Reach is secured."

Graxin lofted a brow. Ulrich had taken a contingent of the 501st to help whip the freedmen into shape. He was returning a bit later than his uncle would have hoped, but then the fact that he was returning at all was good news.

"My nephew may be coming to greet our new friends," he snickered, "Things may grow interesting."

He could count the people he knew on one hand. [member="Jamie Pyne"] was another of the nobility, and one he knew woefully little about. Then there was [member="Cecily Demici"], whom he smiled at for a moment before turning back to Lady Cardei. He certainly knew of that one.

"I'm told a man named Imperieuse runs Circe Savan's old outfit."

"Poor man." He chuckled. "As for Voidstalker...paramour or not, I intend to have a few words. Join me?"

Then a pause. The young queen had made her appearance. Graxin lofted a brow. "She's a pretty little thing isn't she?"

"Such is the way of galas. Some of us are here to decide the fate of a world, and some to meet their most recent paramour for the evening."

"Now, that's hardly charitable," said Ajira with a smile. "I'm sure Master Voidstalker is the epitome of honourable chastity. Why, I can see his virginity from here."

"My nephew may be coming to greet our new friends," he snickered, "Things may grow interesting."

"I'm not familiar with your nephew. A bit uncouth or overly impassioned, perhaps? Is that what you're implying?"

"Poor man." He chuckled. "As for Voidstalker...paramour or not, I intend to have a few words. Join me?"

"Of course, though I may beat you to it. I have certain advantages of you at the moment."

"She's a pretty little thing isn't she?"

"Her Majesty? A lovely girl, in a fashionably consumptive sense. I tend to wish her every happiness." Ajira secured a glass of R'alla sparkling mineral water and took a bracing swig. "All right, Lord Rade. Once more unto the breach and so forth."

Presuming he'd come along as he'd said, she made her way through the growing crowd toward the cheerful young couple. Perhaps not so cheerful now; they seemed slightly ill at ease. As well they might: a couple of someones had been walking on their grave.

"Master Voidstalker and Lady Imperieuse, I believe," she said, apropos of nothing. "I'm Lady Ajira Cardei and this is Lord Graxin Rade. Master Voidstalker, do you have a minute?"

Npc - Katrina

The Droid had been left in charge of scouting new locations to expand Inquisition industries™ arms. While it is the smaller company expansion is needed to keep up with demands. Katrina arrived at the location that was up for sale. Many people had turned it down for what it was without a vision of what it could be. The research he been done on this place before any consideration of purchasing the complex and it seemed worth it.

Miss swift had given the Droid some questions to ask the person who was selling the property. Katrina walked over to the sales advisor and the persons assistant. "Hello I am Katrina, representative of inquisitions industries. I am here on behalf of Sanya Val Swift. She has told be to apologize on her behalf for not been here as she is currently tied up in business meetings." The doid would say in one big go.

Enemies: Galactic Alliance
Location: Black Mercury

Several dark figures stood around the holo-projector, a detailed image of the planet Naboo illuminated the ready room inside the stealth ship. "We have confirmation from our agents on the ground that Galactic Alliance representatives are at the ball. The queen has arrived as well, we expect she will hand over Naboo to the Alliance by the end of the night." One of the figures spoke. The Sith Lord punched a few commands in on his data-pad and the image shifted from the whole planet to a layout of the city of Theed. "What assets does the Galactic Alliance have on the ground?" Kentarch asked. "According to your agents, a small force, but this could likely change as the situation develops. Likewise I'm sure the Royal Naboo Security Forces remains on standby." The man replied, Kentarch nodded at the response "Is everything ready, our your men ready?" He then asked another one of the figures, a Condottiero. "The men are ready to move out." The mercenary replied promptly.

"I want no casualties during this landing operation. The Jedi pride themselves in peace and the preservation of life and we can use this against them. Use civilian traffic to get planet side, when on the ground don't fire on the enemy unless you are fired upon." Kentarch commanded. "You will land in civilian transports, I want you to set up a staging area to assault the capital from The Reach. If stopped by local security use non-lethals." Any trained soldier knew to look out for an enemy uniform or ship. But an enemy disguised as a civilian could attack from anywhere at any time, and it could be anyone. This mercenary army had been with Kentarch when they stormed Imperial Palace on Coruscant when the Dark Lord was killed, this was not the first attempt at slipping in using a false flag. "We are ready my lord, when you give the order." The Condottiero replied. The Sith Lord had taken the time to select several vessels to land the soldiers of the Black Legion Mercenary Company, large civilians shuttles and transport, cargo haulers, refugees ships, nothing was marked or even in uniform. An order was issued for mandatory radio silence, the pilots were given their landing coordinates before embarking. There would be no communication between the Sith and the mercenaries.

"Begin landing your troops." Kentarch said to the Mercenary Captain.

The transports slipped into civilian traffic lanes and causally moved towards the planet, one by one they set down at various space ports or clearings around in The Reach. Kentarch watched the progress from his own ship. As the ships landed he made no announcement or public statement of his arrival or that of the mercenary army. Wasting no time he spoke to the droid pilot. "I want us in airspace over The Reach. Eventually someone is gonna figure out we just put several shock infantry divisions on the ground in an attack formation." The Black Mercury dived down into the atmosphere, heading for The Reach.

As Hardline did his job properly, so he had multiple agents stationed around the planet, and if anything went wrong, he will hear about it. When someone casually slipped Hardline a handwritten note, he knew something had to be up, the note read.

Reports coming in of military units landing, unmarked, and not GA; standby for more intel. -- Bluejay

It was above Hardlines pay grade to be making decisions on what to do, that was [member="Graxin Rade"]'s job.

Hardline approached Graxin, in a non suspicious manner.

"Sir you have recieved a note." Hardline said before passing him the note.

Hardline then subsequently walked away as if nothing had happened, continuing to serve patrons as the night continued.

"Lord Graxin? Dear me everyone is a noble it seems," Jacen replied, flashing a sideways smile at Lilin. "I do apologise Lady Cardei, that was rude of me. A minor private joke. But of course I can spare some time, Lilin if you'd excuse me. I hope you enjoy the evening."

Rade he recognised from a long time ago. Back when the Alliance was a rag tag group of broken republicans with an ideal. They'd rallied since those times, even if their operations were still quite amateur at times. They'd given the Sith a bloodied nose, but failed the much any real inroads. They needed more people, better logistics. The Sith had been busy with what was apparently an aborted attempt at taking the throne. The Dark Lord was apparently gone, but none sat upon his throne.

He looked up expectantly to see if there would be questions or an offer to go somewhere more quiet to discuss something official.

They moved through the bog terrain quietly for the moments that spaced between landing and finding solid ground. The emergent wetland was littered with patches of tufted beaked sedge, islands of floating moss, and floating logs that presented more problems than solutions. The water ran dark, like strong tea, and the pockets of small ponds on the outskirts of the lake provided clearing in the canopy to sight the skyline. Stepping up on an island of old evergreen trees, covered in a thick carpet of pine needles, Gabe offered a hand to the boy to step out of the dark water. Drenched from ankle to waist, the Master gave a warm smile despite lack of comfort in the situation.

"Nothing wrong with falling off a log."
"Yeah...well that doesn't make the situation any better."
"True, but the revelation doesn't hurt either. Unless you think I'm taunting you. Then it's simply an issue of pride."
"Like you're one to talk."
"Oh I am." He said with a smile. "You can be honorable without being prideful. Just takes a bit of finesse."

He turned and walked through the thick forest, sappy trees equipped with low laying branches extending from the trunk. Long abandoned by the tree, they had hardened and stopped producing leaves. Not ten steps in, he knelt down and waved the boy in to follow. "Look at that."

"What?"
"Nuna tracks. Female by the looks of it."
"How can you tell?"
"That it's a nuna?"
"No! That it's a female."
Gabe gave a laugh, knowing the boys original question. "Well, the males have longer toes. Closer to five inches from heel to nail." He pulled out the slate and struck it once, a slow purr coming out. There was a feint response in the distance. "Tree yelp."

He looked over and put the slate away. "So now we wait and listen."
"Can't you tell where the nuna is?"
"Of course. But I'm not tracking the nuna. You are."

Korr gave an almost imperceptible nod at Na'varro's words. Having the grizzled warrior along would be a reassurance, even if he had once been a Sith. Ryan knew people could change for the better, but he did not give out his faith in others freely. Na'varro, once on it, had not strayed from the straight and narrow. Just another steady hand. Korr had a feeling they would need him.

He knew little of the padawans personally. Avalore he trusted, though not in a battle. A few gray hairs did the group well. Tempered the exuberance of youth with the caution of experience. Ryan himself was but a year under thirty, despite his collection of scars.

A sudden braying ripped Ryan's attention from such thoughts. He turned swiftly toward the source of the noise. A kaadu, wounded... and riderless.

His brow furrowed beneath the weight of a heavy frown. Must be the messenger's mount, but where-

The Jedi Master's senses flooded outward, probing, seeking, acutely aware of the vast wealth of life in the swamp. Their connections to the Force shone like torchlights in his mind. He reached further. Something niggled along the edges of his senses, a strange brush against cobwebs, familiar strands of darkness.

Ryan's eyes widened.

Impossible.

He turned to Alen. "Do you sense him?"

Odium.

There had been stories of an old Imperial facility that was available, but a simple perusal of the listing showed that it was more than what he needed. What Ceredir Industries was really looking for at this point in time was a showroom, a storeroom, and a manufacturing location. The manufacturing would be the largest section; having too much product stored at once meant an inefficient method of order or transport to the customer, and an overly-large showroom would simply look empty until he got more products made. And he couldn't keep making the products himself, that would be too slow.

The places that he found in the city hadn't been right. Either too large a display area, or no storage space, maybe even no room for manufacturing. He'd even seen one that had apartments above for the owner and family. While those could have been turned into a manufacturing area, it would have required extensive renovations, not something he was interested in doing - it would be too much time and money taken away for too little gain and little room to expand. Rather, the Sephi started hitting closer to what he was looking for. Larger areas, a few offices, a front, and a couple other rooms. Plainly there had been a few companies in the same vein as his that had their locations here. Maybe not the best omen, but if it meant the locations were almost ready-made for his needs and were relatively inexpensive, worthwhile. It was also worthwhile to note whether or not the companies had been successful before the fall of the Techno Union, that could point to the cause of their failure versus the location not being profitable.

The sudden braying of the kaadu caused Nia to jump, breaking the tense silence so suddenly and unexpectedly. As the riderless creature emerged through the mists, she knit her brows, seeing how it was injured. Was this the work of the humans or...looking to the Masters, she saw Korr say something quietly to Na'Varro. Something wasn't right and she traded a look with the Alliance Peacekeeper next to her.

He nodded almost imperceptibly to her; he had the same notion of something odd. She turned her head, looking to meet the gaze of Trix Bastin. Maybe the older apprentice knew something that she didn't. Maybe she was just as in the proverbial and literal fog as Nia herself. She had to make herself let go of her lightsaber hilt as she noticed it's death grip.

"Not bad..." Aston said as he braced his lips again one another while trying to catch the taste of the drink. "A little strong but not bad. Mix it just a tad more and that one is gonna sell." The padawan nodded his head towards the drink attendant and then cleared his throat. Naboo was rather nice place, stopping in once before a few years ago Aston rather enjoyed the short amount of time that he spent here before. The Jedi waved his hand at another drink attendant as he was offered a drink but he politely refused. One sip of something was good enough for now, he wasn't exactly here on full pleasure anyway. Aston dressed in a rather traditional ceremonial garb, nothing to fancy at all, but enough to show that he cared about being here to help the Alliance and Naboo. He glanced around for a moment and thus he felt the presence of his Sister and his eyes glanced exactly over to where she was. He started to make his way over to her to engage in conversation, but was interrupted by the trumpet blast.

Murmurs across the hall from low conversation and some laughter was immediately ceased at the arrival of the queen of Naboo. Aston's eyes widened a little bit as he nodded his head. "Wow, she's beautiful." Aston whispered softly as he gazed at her for a few moments and then forced himself to look away when he realized he was staring for to long.He then glanced around waiting for the reception that had been given to the queen had died down a few minutes from now, he hoped. He had wished to speak with his sister.

Walking slowly around the ball room, not really paying attention to the announcer, Taeli just took in the idle chitchat from the nobles and other dignitaries at the event. A glass of wine, untouched as she didn't imbibe alcohol, was in her hand to maintain appearances. In this sort of environment, having one's wits about themselves was important. You never knew when a nugget of information might be overheard that could steer a noble into the fold.

She briefly turned her attention to when the queen was announced, the young teenager walking with a grace befitting her station and garment to match. To her Lorrdian eye however, she noticed that something was off. She couldn't put her finger on it, but something about the queen said she was concerned about something. Taeli shrugged it off as possibly nervous about such a large political event, but she would log that away fro later. Right now, she noticed two of her fellow masters in the New Jedi Order conversing with two of the Naboo nobility.

She started to make her way over to them, moving carefully through the crowd and politely declining some invitations to dance just yet.

The landing ramp to the Initium lowered itself down towards the feet of Alicia Drey, whilst it's shuttle bay doors opened at the same time. Stepping onto the ramp, she entered the ship and turned to the nearby key pad. Lifting a hand towards it, she punched in the code- Mendacium- and turned back to the doors. She observed momentarily as the landing ramp was retracted back inside, before her view outside through the shuttle bay doors was obscured as they closed. Turning away, she made her way up the hallway and entered the cockpit.

Lowering herself into the pilot seat, Alicia brought up the comlink and patched into Naboo's flight control. "This is the Initium to flight. Request clearance for takeoff."

"Initium, this is flight. Permission granted. Thank you for your visit."

"No, thank you."

Activating the impulse engines and retracting the landing clamps, the Initium took off, flying out of the landing bay and out into the sky. Maneuvering the ship around, Alicia was met with a breathtaking view of Theed, in all it's splendor and glory. The Cardei estate hadn't done the entire city justice, if she were to compare the views from the balcony adjoining the quarters she had been given for her stay on Naboo and the one she was met with now. Averting her gaze from the cockpit, she set the Initium on auto-pilot, instructing the computer to take her on a course out of Naboo and into space. Rising up from her seat, Alicia begun to prepare for her attack.

Once the boarding parties were safely aboard it was time for Rogue squadron to bug out. Asmus tried to accelerate towards Rogue Six, who was being chased down by five droid fighters.

“Shields gone, trying to…”

That was the end of the transmission. “We’ve lost Rogue Six,” Asmus reported, watching the debris scattering. Those swarm fighters angled towards him, but an Alliance gunship opened up on them with multiple turrets, dispersing the group.

“Rogue Nine, fall in,” came the call from the leader. On the augmented reality viewscreen a vector appeared to bring him back into line with the pack. The group quickly assembled and started to accelerate away from the Lucrehulk with the rest of the group.

“Rogue Nine, time for your party trick.”

Asmus smiled to himself as he reverse the dorsal thrusters, flipping the craft on its Z-axis. All thrusters were then fired forwards. His TX-100 could accelerate backwards as fast as it could forwards. He followed the squadron, facing backwards. As droid fighters tried to fall into line he opened fire with his primary weapon. The rotating laser cannon fired quick bursts, especially effective against the swarm fighters, particularly as it wasn’t fixed in its mountings, allowing the targeting computer to hone in on their pursuit.

“Getting hot back here,” Asmus called.

“Hold as long as you can, we have company incoming.”

The Endless Light approached Naboo slowly, gaining the proper clearances for a landing and bringing a member of the Organa family to the ball on Naboo. Within moment of receiving permission and coordinates the ship set down, and revealed it's passenger.

She was late but she never minded being late, it was missing it entirely that she would feel bad about. Tonight she felt more like Cinderella from an old story her mother told her growing up, walking through grand door ways, feeling the pomp and circumstance of the occasion.

She never got tired of this seeing new places, tonight she wore the mint green dress and kept her hair swept up off her shoulders. She looked around Naboo, how beautiful. Equal to Alderaan in every way. History, architecture, lush and green.

Her family had a tie to this place an ancient one but still a tie to it, she could not help but feel slightly awed by it all.

It was her ultimate favorite it was the king of all the cakes and she was going to find it if it was the last cake she ever searched for before. “Strawberries are in season on Naboo I wouldn’t be surprised if they already had their first pick on the table.” Spencer had spent some time on the planet most of it looking up foods and the like, the woman enjoyed eating – especially sweets. [/SIZE]

[SIZE=10pt]From the corner of her eye she glanced towards her daughter, she was far from the little girl that used to wander the parties of the Fringe. Things like this felt almost like second nature to her, which on one hand made Spencer sad, but on the other she preferred her daughter grow up that way than how she personally did. A soft smile spread across her face, the girl beside her was an uncanny splitting image of how she looked at that age, but between the ears – she was her Papa. “Your Papa liked strawberries…” Spencer looked over at Ibaris as she grasped the last slice of pink cake. “But not as much as I do” [/SIZE]

Allyson fought back a chuckle as Kaili refused to wear the pirate’s clothing. She didn’t really blame her, the pirate seemed to be one for extravagant clothing that was completely unnecessary with all the buttons and chains. Remembering how most pirates were, Allyson knelt down and patted down the woman again. Reaching into the inner pocket of the coat she pulled a flask and grinned. “Despite how poodoo of a person she is – she left us a parting gift.” Shaking the flask, it felt full which meant she probably had just filled it for the party. Opening the lid, she took a quick sip and grinned as the amber liquid burned her throat – that good burn of good Corellian whiskey. “Karking hell, she got the good stuff”

The flask found its way into the small handbag Allyson had with her and she looked to Kaili who was wanting to make sure their cover story was on point. To be completely honest, Allyson forgot most of it and she was trying to buy herself time. “Uh you’re the Lord Novastar and I’m her sexy wench? No no, not wench uh…” Allyson scrunched her brow as she pressed her lips together to try and think of what the story was that they had gone over. Snapping her fingers, she grinned and nodded to the girl in the suit.

“You’re the Pirate Lord Novastar and I’m your beautiful wife.” It probably wasn’t what Kaili had in mind, but it was a story that Allyson preferred. Knowing her luck, the original cover story was probably the whole wench thing, but Allyson was too expensive to be some two-bit wench. She was a classy lady from Corellia, the thought made her chuckle under her breath. “So does that work? I mean it’s pretty convincing eh?” [member="Kaili Talith"]

Well either way there was wine, even if no one wanted to dance with her.
