A Splash of Freedom

Geonosis, a desert planet full of sand and heat, a gem within Confederate space, Aridlandscapes surround much of the lush, metropolitan spaces that the government built - and those not fortunate enough to make their homes within those manicures places are often left to their own devices in the hot, dry world outside.

With the hottest season of the year in full swing across the planet, the Vicelord of the Confederacy has seen fit to allow for a bit of fun close to the capital, Golbah City. With the cooperation and collaboration of the generous people of Kamino, several massive tankards of water have been ferried to Geonosis for a project aimed at providing thrills and chills (of the cooling sort)!

A massive pop up waterpark had been constructed several kilometres outside of the city limits, baked in the hot Genosis sun, and now filled to bursting with water imported from Kamino. The entire structure was a marvel of opulence, but there was more behind this particular project than just showcasing the CIS’s ability to hydrate a planet badly in need of just that. This was going to be the perfect setting to bring to light some of the special projects that the Confederacy had been working on as well.

Between the pools and slides, the massive manicured beach that had been made to nestle into the edge of the gigantic wave pool at the centre of the park, and the host of kiosks selling all manner of delicious, if slightly unhealthy, foods - this venture was proving to be quite refreshing indeed! In addition to all the water rides, there had also been a massive go-kart track erected around the perimeter of the park as well.

Citizens of the Confederacy from far and wide have been invited to this watery celebration, and the friends of the Confederacy have been as well. Grab your bathing suit and hat,and come have fun at the Pop Up Waterpark!

The Confederacy has always been known as one of the galaxy's leading governments of scientific renovation, and the hot Geonosian summer has done little to slow them down. During the water festival, the Confederacy will reveal its design of Merdroids - a brand new line of droids that can be used for battle on water worlds, as they survive not only the desert sands we all so hate but can also thrive underwater.

rbLED5.png
Separated by a fence to mostly keep the water out, the water festival also offers a go-kart track! The go-kart track is open for anyone aged the equivalent of human 13 and above, is surrounded by more deep pools to ensure the safety of those who might fly out of their karts because reasons, and the winner - *drumroll* - gets to choose between being hosed down (everyone knows the Confederacy has the best hose), or take home enough gallons of clean, drinkable water, to sustain themselves and their family on Geonosis for three years. Those visiting from milder climate'd planet may choose to donate this water to families of low income.

rbLOPP.png
What sort of water festival with a water park and water rides does not have people swimming? Slip into your bathing suit and go enjoy the large pools, push little rascals out of the way as you fight to be the first to jump down that water slide, or float with some pool noodles while enjoying your favourite flavour of ice cream!

The water park offered many options for those who want to swim'n'splash, including:

 • Wave pools - varying from mild to wild, the park has several different kinds of wave pools for the family to enjoy! Only adults are permitted to the wild pools, as their ferocious waves may be too much for children to safely handle.
 • Water restaurants - looking to have some nice seafood? A good banthaburger with fries? Many restaurants have set up shop… Right in the water! Just please don't let the kids empty ketchup bottles into the pools, that's disgusting.
 • Water bars - for the more sophisticated and mature crowd, bars have been placed throughout the place as well, keeping a good distance from the restaurant. Lounge on a floatie as you enjoy your Wyvern's Resolve, lean and try to impress the lads or ladies with a mug of cold mead, or just grump in the corner with some of the harder liquor.

rbLMI6.png
And of course, what would a Confederate sponsored event of any kind be, if it did not include a hefty dose of social mingling? Confederates do love their parties, and this is no different. So grab some finger food (they're all heat-resistant, so no worry about spoilage), a cocktail that includes an umbrella (there are safe choices for the underaged), get your sunblock on, and go mingle!

Additionally, you can find the following at the water park:

 • Souvenir Stalls - aimed mostly at offworlders who came to enjoy the water park, these stalls will sell souvenirs as well as sunblock for outrageous prices. Beware the tourist trap!
 • Spa Halls - Those who wish to enjoy the steam of the spa or get good deep tissue massages are more than welcome to make use of the spa facilities opened for the duration of the park's activities.
 • The Arcade - the arcade is open to all visitors. However, be warned - you will get wet here as well, for many of the games hose players down when they lose!

Left. Right. Right. Punch. Punch. Crouch. Kick.

Scherezade's focus was on the screen in front of her, the colorful pixel character moving as she had commanded her. While playing Crush Thy Enemies, an arena-styled combat theme game, she had chosen Darlila, an incredibly buff purple skinned woman with a muscle tone to die for, who for some reason, fought in a little frilly tutu and a tiny clam bra. Scherezade had no idea why the designers of the hologame would ever choose to put a fighting woman in that gear on purpose. At first, she had thought to try to follow the story, hoping to find some semblance of a reason there, but there was none. The character she was playing was meant to know about most of the fights she was getting in.

That left the Sithling with only one conclusion; whoever had designed the game ad obviously never experienced real battle. For instance, the crowd in the background. They were just standing there and cheering! But these were meant not be impromptu fights, of the kind that had people either running away or joining in! And then, of course, there was that entire strange set of abilities. She couldn't figure it out. There no sense to any of it, no logic. The powers were certainly not representative of the Force and what one could do with it. At least, so she thought, since she'd never actually heard of a Force ability that let you morph into a murderous chicken.

But not even a murderous chicken could not defeat the mighty Zon'Zon'Zhar'Zon, who for some reason had essentially no special abilities, but every punch he packed took down 75% of the life bar Darlila had.

After the fifth loss in a row, Scherezade grumped and left the game alone. She'd spent more than enough credits on trying to pass that level with no success, and she wasn't about to stand there and continue to take it.

Moving over to the small snack bar, she stood in line. Nothing like a hot dog and some crispy bantha bacon on top of it to make a girl feel better. The smell was delicious, almost overpowering the scent of the blood that was so sharp in her nose. She knew she would need a better distraction than this to keep her mind off of… Things.

“Well if it isn’t my favorite knife-crazed, fat cream loving savior in the Confederacy,” Alden said with a chuckle as he came to a lean-to position on a nearby tree to where [member="Scherezade deWinter"] was seemingly fully immersed in some kind of game. A second look and he had noticed that she was playing none other than “Crush Thy Enemies,” a game he was actually incredibly familiar with as it had been one he’d logged hundreds of hours playing in his youth and even into his younger adult years before finding himself in Confederate space. Between then and now, there hadn’t been much of an opportunity for him to just kick back and relax. Not now that he was a High Marshal and the apprentice to the Exarch, [member="Adron Malvern"]. Hell, chances were this time of ‘relaxation’, if he could safely call it that, would likely be short lived. After all, it seemed his master always had another task for him to accomplish. And if not his master, his position of High Marshal certainly did.

He watched the Sithling as she grew ever more frustrated with the game, and even gave off another playful laugh when he saw her begin to storm off. “You see? There’s actually a trick to Zon’Zon’Zhar’Zon.” He paused, seeing if she’d halt her exit from the system before he stepped up to the kiosk and slid a credit in before it was allowed to timeout, allowing him to pick up where she had left off. The game booted back to life with a fanfare of instrumentation and bright lights.

In all honesty, Darlila was probably the worst character of the selection to use against Zon’Zon’Zhar’Zon, but it wasn’t impossible to win as her. Far Alden, his favorite character had been the small, yet agile, Belrona, not the slower, heavier hitting Darlila that Scherezade had chosen to play at, but for now it’s what he had to work with.

As the games resumed and began the battle against the boss that had frustrated Scherezade to the point of quitting, Alden grabbed the controls and began hammering away at the games.

Duck. Jump. Kick. Kick. Duck. Jump. Punch. Kick. The sequence would continue and continue for some time before he’d finally whittled away enough of the boss’s life that he was finally able to beat Zon’Zon’Zhar’Zon.

“You see? Each enemy has a prewritten code and always fights with the same pattern. Once you figure that out, the game almost becomes easy.” He stepped back from the games and gestured to her to see if she wanted to resume now that he’d beaten the dreaded enemy she’d been unable to beat just moments later. “Care to continue?”

Is this a dream?

Never in Josiah's wildest dreams did he imagine the present would be his reality. For over a decade, he and his bride had suffered the agony of losing their child. And in the aftermath, their union plummeted into nonexistence. Josiah had, for the most part, been alone in the Galaxy - choosing to follow the Light wherever it guided him. More often than not, that saw him frequent battlefields in the hopes of stalling Imperial warmachines. But, in recent history, a contrast to the norm fell into the man's lap.

It all began with a chance journey to Moorwood Peak. Monastery had become a beacon for the Light in the Southern Systems, and Josiah had went to restore himself in the fabled Healing Springs. Yet, whilst there, he found the woman who he had left behind. And, though so much time had passed, simply being around one another was enough to rekindle that infectous affection they held. They decided to, in spite of their loss, try and make things work together. And perhaps this was enough to have fortune reward them.

For their child was not dead. Only lost. [member="Auteme Denko-Durren"] came home.

Taanab had been the culprit of the reunion. She, like her mother, decided to spend her days and nights helping those who were wounded by the fighting. Including her father. T'was after she restored his gashed arm that her identity was given to them...and the Denko family was made whole once more. But, for as amazing as it was, making up for lost time was easier said than done. Josiah's foray into fatherhood had been cut short after Auteme's disappearance, and thus he found himself fumbling at what to do with his beloved child.

Tears and hugs would only go so far, after all. So, when news reached his ears of a summertime event taking place on Golbah City, he insisted that she come along. Just the two of them - and whatever she wanted to do, they would do. For the occasion, Josiah's robes had been left at home in favor of vibrant swim trunks, a v-neck, flip flops, and sunglasses. He certainly looked the part of "dad", but if he could play the part remained to be seen. As they arrived at the Waterpark's gate, he offered his daughter a toothy grin and motioned before them.

"There's so much to choose from, where do we go first?"

It had admittedly been quite some time since Calixte had done much of anything but work. A job here, a task there, anything and everything that kept her busy and more or less off the grid - unless she was working with friends of course. Otherwise? She had just been too busy to make time. So this day announced of fun and sun? Oh the redhead needed it. Visiting this water park gave her every excuse she needed to take off her work boots, (not quite) dress up, and get her drink on. Granted, she wouldn't over do it of course. This was public space and there were little ones running around somewhere she was sure. But a refreshing drink to take the edge off? Yep, totally her thing.

While Cali hadn't gone straight to the nearest poolside bar, it was where she had ended up almost naturally. And now she was sat on the water's edge, legs dangling into the cool pool, while she sipped occasionally at her semi-frozen drink.

Oh yeah, this is exactly what she needed.

Eventually Cali knew she would have to venture off and find some of the people she adored - unless of course they found her first, but she had been rather elusive as of late and hadn't told anyone she was going to show up to this shindig. Not that she was trying to hide it obviously, she just hadn't thought that far ahead to make plans to meet up with anyone or let them know she would be around to pester them. Ah well, it would be a surprise then, wouldn't it?

Whatever the case, for the time being the redhead was content where she was. The water and the drink were keeping her cooled down despite the harsh sun beating down on the place. Though that thought made her brow crease as she released the straw of her drink and raked her teeth against her lower lip. She had forgotten sunscreen, and being redheaded and fair complected? She was going to have to remedy that pronto. And yet for the moment she took her straw right back between her lips and took another drink. She would check the vendors momentarily for sunblock.

Right now? She was going to sit, finish her drink, and enjoy it.

It's one of life's mysteries, sir...

If one just closed the eyes and felt the sand and listened to the waves in the water, the otherwise harsh desertlands and rocky nature of Geonosis vanished completely. A spoonfull of delicious imported ice cream melted quickly in her mouth, and brought that experience of being somewhere else up quite a few notches. Not that the experienced former explorer and now CIS pilot needed to come away, but it was an impressive accomplishment to set this waterpark up at their capital planet. To experience anything remotely resembling to this, one had to go off-world and often more than a system away. This were just one proof that the CIS could use their great capabilities to cover more than just warfare, and they had certainly did on more than just once occasion since the denonian joined them.

Even beach beds were available to have a rest on under the warming sun, one of which Kathy had been able to pick before the place became too much crowded. A bunch of kids in various species ran by, one more eager than the other one to get into the water as quick as possible. Still there were mostly humans around, though. Not everyone appreciated water as much as them, and certainly not the stern geonosians. The childs play made a gentle smile appear in the corner of her mouth, before she readjusted the ash blone ponytail so it would lay comfortably against the pillow of the bed. She took another spoon of the ice cream and could not help but to ponder on yesterdays results in the flight simulation. Even if it had been a while since their last mission or campaign, there was always training to do for the pilots and soldiers in the service of the Confederacy.

Geonosis. Again. Last time she'd come to this gods forsaken planet and its cruel sun, however, she'd met Pomsty. Perhaps something just as miraculous would happen again. If nothing else, at least the Mandragora would be represented at a social function so the Confederacy did not forget their mystical counterparts existed. Pom thought people did not appreciate their skills, or believed them inferior to the Force so many used. To an extent, Vytal agreed. Perhaps they simply weren't familiarized with the true power of the Witches and Warlocks among them. This would not be an opportunity to demonstrate, but she could at least tackle socializing outside of combat. There would be time enough for demonstrations later.

Vytal dropped a few credits into the hand of the vendor as she retrieved an alcoholic drink with a little umbrella in the glass. The Nightsister had found the very concept of a tiny umbrella in a drink interesting enough to order one for herself. What a strange custom of these offworlders. "What is this for?" she asked aloud to no one in particular.

Prior to arriving from elsewhere, Vytal had sent off a notice to Pom, Hevn, and the rest of the Mandragora to mingle among the Confederacy's member races. It would be a good show. A change in venue might not hurt their creative processes either. Sometimes even Vytal needed a break so new thoughts and new approaches were inspired leading her down new and fruitful paths; the same was true with others. Strange as it seemed, despite all their differences so many offworlders were not so different from Dathomiri women -- or men -- as she'd once thought.

As she sipped the chilled drink, her bright eyes beheld people walking around enjoying this strange festival made possible by hauling countless water from elsewhere. Even little children ran about with cheers of delight. It reminded her just a bit of home among her Clan in the evening when all chores and hunting was finished; they could assemble as a family and just talk, sing, and dance together. Vytal wondered how everyone back on Dathomir was doing.

It had been at least a few months since he had last left the monastery, outside of a hunting mission here and there. Certainly nothing even remotely along the lines of a social or fun event even came to his mind to attempt to attend. During that time period, he had rarely seen those that he had come to form acquaintanceships with outside of the Clan, having only seen a certain fighter once or twice. In complete honesty, it had been a long, lonely few months, so when the opportunity to visit geonosis arrived, with the possibility of seeing those that he could tentatively call his friends, he jumped at the opportunity.

Though, when he got there, he could fully admit to not expecting so many children running around. The water park setting did call for kids, naturally, but with the drinks, spas, and more adulty themes of the invite, Galaar was slightly surprised to see the number of kids was more than just a few. Gravitating toward the more adult central areas would certainly lend more to his purposes of being here. Knowing this, the first place he headed toward was one of the many bars the park was offering.

The very first bar he found was located near the central pool area of the park, in one of the smaller water areas. It seemed like a quieter spot, certainly somewhere for parents or adults to escape to. And, luckily enough for him, he actually was able to see one of those aquitences he had thought of earlier. A redhead, someone he had spent time fighting beside, as well as seeing her at the campfire drinking party of the crusaders a few months ago. Maybe she’d actually remember him. Or maybe better not. There were a lot of old man jokes made that night. He only had a few grey hairs!

Jumping into the shallow area of the pool, the mandalorain wadded over the bar, catching the gaze of the redhead. He gave her a soft smile, nodding toward the seat next to her. With that same smile peaking at the edges of his lips, he spoke, rough voice speaking over the rushing water of the park’s various slides. “If I promise to buy you your next drink, could I have that seat, ma’am?”

Kat decided to take a break from Jedi training to enjoy a day at the water park that the CIS were hosting. It was a good time to relax and let her hair down, especially since she was working hard with her new Lightsaber training, taking care of her little niece who was now 3 and she was still caring for her mother who was becoming reclusive in the house. It was tough but she was getting her mother more open and back to her usual self. It was hard and her sister had been too busy working on diplomacy and her own life to help Kat with her mother. However, today was different, Kat was by herself and enjoying the warm sun and the cool water. It was nice to enjoy the cool water and Kat let her fingers trail through the water idly as she inhaled slowly.

It was relaxing, Kat was interested in the spa treatment but she was more interested in having a few cocktails and enjoying the sun for now, maybe have a massage later on. Kat sipped her cocktail as she sunk into the water and leaned back into the wall. Enjoying the feeling of the cool water on her body as she closed her eyes, resting her head. Arm resting on the wall of the pool, finally finding some small peace with her life. Not caring that the moment would be fleeting or short.

A grey eyed gaze cast around the area slowly, finding more bodies than she had originally taken notice of when she had first arrived. That wasn't a bad thing of course, it meant that if she got lonely - or couldn't find any of her friends - that she would have someone that she could bother whether they liked it or not. Calixte was a social thing after all, and eventually she would grow tired of sitting here on her own with no one to talk to or conjure up witty banter with.

Though that didn't seem to be a factor for very long. The redhead lifted her free hand so that she could shield her eyes and get a better focus on the voice that spoke out to her. Ah! A familiar face! Granted, it wasn't one she knew very well, but at least it was someone she had fought along side of and socialized with before now. That was good enough for her most definitely.

"Ma'am?" she quipped in reply, and right then she seemed to recall all of the old man jokes that had flitted about the campfire so many long nights ago. A fact that caused a grin to curl the corners of her mouth in amusement, however she refrained from making any such comments. After all, the last thing Cali wanted was to run someone off who had only quite literally just joined her. "I don't know about this ma'am business, but if you're buying the next round, my space is your space." she offered and even lowered her hand away from her eyes to pat the empty spot behind her.

if they're watching anyways
Auteme didn't really know what a dad was.

Okay, so she'd had a male guardian for the past twelve years to guide and protect her. Maybe she'd refer to him as a father figure, but she'd never really felt it was the same -- even at the young age of four she could tell the difference between the grungy old Mandalorian and the Jedi Knight. She supposed she loved both of them, but she'd still never felt like she knew what that kind of person would mean in her life. The story had been told a thousand times already; now she needed to look forward.

"Go Karts," she replied immediately, her eyes already on the rather helpful directive sign in front of them. If she was being completely honest she'd never really gone to an event like this, at least, not to actually have fun. She'd helped out with making meals and setting up small markets and festivals during her travels with the old monk. This was different. And that was great, considering she was with someone different. Part of her would always have doubts about Josiah and Mara -- she disliked that part -- but today she wanted to have fun. She'd been studying and working hard, so a little reward might be nice, and she'd been excited to see what the Confederacy's capital was like. It didn't count as studying if it was for leisure time, right? Wouldn't want all that reading about Golbah and the water park's events to go to waste.

That was partly why she'd chosen Go Karts; she knew that if she won she'd donate the water to someone in need. And if she lost, well, it'd still be fun, right? "Unless you want to do something else?" She looked over at her father, spotting a momentary distant look on his face. Maybe it was a dream. She should sleep more.

There was something to be said about getting to relax, but Kaden didn’t know what it was. His mind and temperament were not meant for the idea of relaxation, yet since running into a certain blonde Mando in the land of the living, Kaden had done a lot more of it. The CIS loved their social excursions, and each one gave Kaden one more opportunity to spend time with the blonde he was bonded too. It had been the result of his time in the Netherworld. Kaden has somehow tethered himself to her. Daisy had been his anchor to the real world, the person his soul, or force signature, latched on to. The beskarhearted Mandalorian had no idea how any of that force stuff worked, or how to explain it to Daisy. He never tried, all he had managed to explain was the circumstances which had led to their metaphysical meeting.

Kaden wanted to say it had been the night he taught her to play Sabaac. It was certainly the first time he remembered seeing her n something other than her armor. Daisy was pretty, but not overly fancy like many of the Confederate women. Some might take it as an insult, but Daisy was more down to earth, a fact Kaden appreciated more than the blonde would ever know. Haseria has become his home shortly after that, not because he was stalking Daisy, but because that’s where the other Mandolorians in CIS space were. Little missives had started between them after another in person meeting, and after several meeting and battles together, their relationship had become something which was more than friends. There was care in the tone of Daisy’s voice, every action she took recently, even the way she had removed a metallic bug from him recently. Kaden could feel it, and the affection she had, he shared.

Battles were always getting in the way. Every time it seemed as though there was an opportunity to take advantage of the relationship, to move things to a new level, Kaden was being sent to fight. He fought against his own people, and recently the conflict on Rugosa had seen the man fighting simply to save the lives of others. Both conflicts had been devastating for the Confederacy, and devastating for Kaden personally. The man who was raised with a taste for war suddenly found that it was bitter and sour in his mouth. His appetite for war was slowing, and yet he knew it was his duty to fight.

Today Kaden didn’t want to do any of that. His message to Daisy from Rugosa had been clear and plain. He needed to be with her. Kaden needed her. The event on Geonosis was another excuse to be with her. Water parks, restaurants, bars, there were even go karts, but all Kaden wanted was to simply be with Daisy. As he leaned back against a lounge chair in his suit, getting what others called a “tan” all Kaden could think was how much he wanted the woman next to him.

His head rolled to look over to the blonde.

“By the Manda, I think we needed this. I’m getting tired of leaving you behind. I missed you something fierce,” Kaden said picking up some of the speech of Haseria. The drawl wasn’t there, but Kaden was beginning to sound like he actually belonged on the back country world. “Tihaar?”

Relaxation wasn’t exactly something that she was used to. Especially not as she began her training under her master. But lately, with the addition of a certain pink friend into her life, she had begun to be taught how to relax her body, and her mind. Something that was desperately needed, especially as the voices got more and more annoying, loud, and desperate. As if they were searching for something…

These thoughts were quickly washed away, quite literally, by the splash coming from one of the smaller kids in the pool in front of her. Xobos grumbled, annoyed to be pulled from her thoughts by such a small troublemaker. She sat up in her seat, pointing a finger toward one of the smaller wave pools. “Mind heading over there? I don’t mind you around here, per say, but it would be such a tragedy to see you swept away by one of the big, bad waves…” Of course, xobos would never harm a child. She wasn’t evil by any means. But the kid didn’t need to know that. He just had to understand the tone of her voice telling him to leave immediately.

Thankfully, he seemed to get the message, and quickly skirted off for a new area to splash people trying to relax. She settled back into her chair, closing her eyes and letting her thoughts begin to drift off yet again. Xobos had borrowed this swimsuit from Cali, and as far as she knew, the Zeltron was off getting the pair some drinks to stay cool in the sun. The Miraluka had tried to say she didn’t need anything, but according to her friend, it would be a crime to let her “date” get heatstroke or burned. Something that she couldn’t exactly begin to argue.

Location: A grass space in the park
Objective: Play some music and meet some friends
Valek wasn't used to hospitality, but he sure welcomed it and any signs of a gathering. Gatherings were, in fact, the type of thing he literally made his life centered around. He saw many different attractions but of course, was drawn to the greenest space around. Regardless of how pleasant the greenery seemed, and how nice the occasion the Confederacy set up is, it was still steamier than a bantha's armpit. But Valek had felt hotter, especially in the hot summer sun of Tatooine. Regardless of the heat situation, Valek felt that it would be beneficial to throw a little concerto in the park to repay the generous Confederacy in music for all of their generousness. He wasn't really sure what he'd think up to perform yet. He'd definitely repeat several of his previous hit from his other occasional space port concerto's, like The Droid that Got Away or Bounty Hunter's Creed, but he felt as if this occasion deserved it's own special occasion. In fact, a hymnn started to come to mind...

"Hot summer evenings with enjoyable sights,
meesa enjoys occasions without fights,
the gleaming hot sun seems to permeate the skin,
I still sit here smiling and laughing with my kin,
meesa sips my blue milk and belches with a laugh,
the joy I feel from occasions couldn't be graphed,
I feel safe and sound while surrounded by friends,
the pleasure in these words will meet no ends,
Meesa abandons sorrows as I plant my words in the soil,
All the hot summer heat yet our sweat won't ever boil,
I sit under the shade of a tree and feel relief,
No sorrow or pity or anger or grief,
Meesa thinks to my lost home with it's lush green fields,
The hot summer sun sets and the sunset shields,
The night settles in as I miss home again,
I let the thought go and trigger my inner zen."
"Maybe meesa will add more before performing." Valek said to himself. Valek wasn't usually a happy writer, but he had to write something happy for this occasion. Valek preferred to construct poems and music and just general prose based on his mood, or his situation. But often times the occasion would be different for others so Valek would have to write to adapt to the tastes of others. He hates the thought of conforming in his writing, but then again he also hates the thought of offending people for no reason. Suffice to say he always comes to the same conclusion: mixed tone is key to keeping himself and his audience sated, and that's exactly what he's do tonight. He finished writing his musings, opened his lute case, drew his lute, and started practicing, enjoying the time before he's start performing by honing his skill.

Well that was a good start. Not only did the redhead seem receptive of his company, but even went as far as to pat the seat next to her. It took him offering to buy another round of drinks, a bribe, perhaps, but it seemed to be an effective one. He gave her a slight smile as he waded his way around the back of her own chair, sliding into the chair she had been patting. Giving her a little wink, the slightly older man turned to the bartender and held up a pair of fingers, motioning to both himself and the lady next to him. “Two more drinks please. Corellian whisky for myself, and whatever she would like.”

The bartender, clad in his own swim attire, began on the drink order for the pair. Galaar turned his attention back to the firey haired woman, his smile getting a little larger as he remembered her ma’am comment. “Aww, can’t a man have a little fun? I seemingly remember plenty of ba’buir comments being made at my expense during the bonfire session a few months ago.” The pepper colored haired man chuckled at the memory, allowing the fellow Mandalorian to respond however she pleased. In the back of his mind, he seemingly remembered this particular mando to be quite the chatterbox, and he was certainly looking forward to conversation between the pair that was sure to come.

She waited while her new companion seated himself, sipping diligently from her straw with little commentary for the time being. Once he was seated and ordered his drink, Calixte made a noise in her throat and detached from the straw so that she could hold up her cup towards the bartender and shake it a little. "Another one of these things." she let out, then shift her focus easily to the man now seated beside her. "I have no idea what it is, but its cold and it tastes good." she mused with a shrug of a shoulder.

When he brought up the bonfire, the redhead laughed and raised her free hand to chest height and shook her head. "Hey, I wasn't going to say a word about any of those comments." she assured him, though she was most certainly smirking about it now. "Though I do recall quite a few of them being made."

Hey, Cali may not have teased him about it at the time, but he brought it up! Not that she was going to dive right into the grandpa jokes any time soon - tempting or not.

"So, what brought you out into the heat to socialize today?" she questioned curiously, and once again went back to sipping the last of her drink as she waited for an answer.

Ears perked up at the sound of being addressed. It took her a moment to realize that 'knife-crazed, fat cream loving savior' was actually aimed at her. Then the word 'favorite' settled in. Scherezade blinked. Of course, she remembered the man; they had shared a drink at another social event of the Confederacy, and there was that whole thing about saving his butt that one time after he'd crashed on a planet whose name she didn't even remember anymore. It seemed like that was what her life was now; mission after mission. Always. Downtime was spent in events like these.

She grumped as Alden took over the gaming machine, dropping his own credits into it. The vendor handed her hotdog and bacon over and she gingerly unwrapped the bread from them, tossing it into the bin. She didn't need any icky sponges with her real food. Ohh, he'd added some pickled cabbage. It was wonderful. Except or the fact that Alden was still at the machine, showing off.

Scherezade swallowed a mouthful and glared, the glow of her green eyes taking on an irritated shade to them as she looked at the man choose Belrona to take Zon'Zon'Zhar'Zon down.

"You did not seriously just mansplain me and show off," she said, her voice unhappy as she stared at the screen, the words VICTORY appearing on it in big bright letters. Scherezade took another big bite out of her food. "Maybe I should've just left you alone after that ship crash," she said after swallowing, sticking her tongue out.

No, she was not truly upset. But, she was still annoyed. She'd been playing that silly game for months now and the level with Zon'Zon'Zhar'Zon was always a tricky one for her, regardless of which champion she chose to play with.

Sighing, Scherezade leaned against a wall and took another bite. "Been a while since I've seen you around," she said, "How have you been, Alden?"

"What's a Wyvern's Resolve? Sounds like a suit of armor," a pink woman cried out at one of the bars near the pools. Cali's rump swayed side to side as she leaned against the bar with both forearms. The purple straps that wound themselves about her upper torso were modest enough, but left little to the imagination. Why she'd already had no less than three people hit on her already! Not that Cali was complaining. A Zeltron liked being admired. People always felt so happy to see her. Probably not for wholesome reasons, but what did a pink girl like her care about wholesome? Long as people were enjoying life.

"Ooh, and tiny umbrellas," their pink customer squealed with the glasses being gently set down atop the bar. Tiny umbrellas were the bomb! Actually, one Whimsy model shot poison darts, and another was a flamethrower. You didn't shape a bomb like an umbrella that would just be silly.

With a happy hum and a skip to her step, Cali bounced her way through the crowd back toward the pool where Xobos waited.

Dear, precious Xobos. A Miraluka that always needed Cali's affectionate touch. Some day she was going to have to meet this Sithy Master and tell him to be nicer to his Apprentice. Like, was death-defying training really necessary? Cali could use the Force and her Jedi Master hadn't been half as tough as this guy must have been on Xobos. Like, what was the big deal? Some cosmic phallus measuring contest between Sith types of who had the stronger pupil?

No, Cali wasn't already tipsy. Yes, back at the Chocolate Factory she had openly and proudly claimed she was ready to smack a Sith Lord over stolen chocolate. No, she didn't have a death wish.

"Xobos," the Zeltron called in a sing-song fashion, "I brought our drinks." A soft giggle followed the announcement as she set a glass down on a tiny table next to the Miraluka's chair. Cali's table was on the opposite side of her chair. Cali had rearranged the tables so their seats could be closer like a couple. Because Zeltrons loved company. Especially repeat company.

"They call this a Wyvern's Resolve. It's colorful and has a tiny umbrella," she said by way of description, all attributes Xobos could probably make out even with Force Sight. But, well, it was all Cali herself knew about the drink. Did it taste good? Don't know, but seeing how it was the flavor of the event it better!

With surprisingly little bounce, Cali plopped into her seat on her side to gaze over at her ever so slightly damp companion. Had Xobos gotten wet? Not like the sun was letting that linger around long. "Hey, did you put on sunscreen or tanning oil yet?" Cause sunburns would totally ruin the mood. Like now and especially later.

Alden gave off a soft, yet playful chuckle as Scherezade’s words came across, teasing that she should have left him shipwrecked on Umgul, back before Umgul was even a part of the Confederacy. Oh how the times had changed and how quickly it had come and gone. So much had changed in that time since that social event where they’d last met. Back then he’d been another rank and he’d only just begun to discover the Force under the Exarch’s guidance. And as for the woman? Alden could only imagine where life had taken her in that time, even if it had only been a fraction as busy as his own.

He gave a faint smile as her more serious nature took over, inquiring as to how he’d been and acknowledging that it had been quite some time since the two of them had crossed paths.

“Well,” he said and then paused to take in a deep breath and slowly exhale it. “Busy, really busy . . . but well. Can’t complain.” He shifted his posture slightly and pulled at his clothing, both loosening and straightening the fabric out. “How about yourself, Ms. deWinter?”

Most would consider the head of the Malvern household to be rather frivolous with his credits. It wasn't necessarily something he could afford not to be with his reputation and the way he went about maneuvering through the galaxy. However, more often than not when he was expending credits in rapid amounts, he was gaining them back a hundredfold in other areas. Well, it seemed that was a trait he shared with his own Master, Darth Metus. For weeks the Sith Lord has been wanting to throw some form of celebration in light of the string of victories in the Mandalorian Wars. The Confederacy had a nearly perfect Campaign and they had reaped the benefits because of it. Now, it was a time to relax.

Adron stood on a balcony, overlooking the massive waterpark Darth Metus had erected for the occasion. The sun was blazing and beared down on him, it was extremely hot these days. Doubly so, because the man held a glass of ice cold Rum in his hands, which only made him warmer. He pulled a set of shades over his eyes before turning back to the rooftop he stood on. Rather than join the festivities in the water park, he had found a suitable apartment building with a pool on the rooftop. An open bar, a cool pool, and a warm sun made for a much better day. It was also without the noise.

He downed the last of the Rum in his glass, just in time for a real serving Droid to approach him. The Droid filled his drink without a moment's hesitation and in the next moment, Adron had downed nearly half of that drink as well.

The days were growing longer and longer and the Exarch still had much to do. Not only were he and Alessandra set to be wed soon, they were expecting a child not long after that. Illyria had finally moved to a state of functionality, but it still had decades before it began to flourish into the man's vision. All of these things were still less time consuming than the ongoing war with the Mandalorian terrorists. The last Battle had been a decisive victory, one that would shape future conflicts. It had also been a victorious invasion under the Exarch's command. Another feather in his cap and another bullet for his campaign to Vicelord.

He made his way over to the pool, dipping his legs into the cool waters. The rooftop was lined with his elite guard, each of them clad in simple suits as opposed to their usual battle armor. One of the men approached Adron and held a datapad out to him. Just because he was relaxing did not mean he could not get a little work done.
