When Falsehood Can Look Like Truth [SJO/ME]

Location: Krakana-class Tactical Command Ship Obi-Wan Kenobi, entering the Barataria System
Objective: Lock and Load

Gir lightly rubbed his right clavicle, massaging around where the harness strap onboard the Backwash had kept him safely buckled in as the corvette had streaked across hyperspace. The command chair of the Kenobi was a far more comfortable affair, having more in common with a reclining chair than the minimal design found on the Backwash. He spun about on his chair to face Ariela, his alleged secretary, but the HRD was far more engrossed in rapidly typing in commands into the consoles to notice his attention.

"Any suggestion that the Mandos have accepted Admiral King's offer?"

"Not yet."

She didn't even bother to look up at me...nor pause. Gir made a mental note that he would the programmers alter her mannerism patterns the next time they were in Hast. He turned his eyes around the bridge, checking to see if any of the bridge crew had caught that awkward exchange. But nearly all of them seemed engrossed in preparing their departments and double-checking their systems for the imminent battle. Perhaps I'm being too paranoid. He turned his attention to Admiral King's last received instructions, thinking of multiple possibilities for orders which would doubtlessly be best informed by the immediate circumstances of their reversion to hyperspace. He felt a slight shift in the ship's artificial gravity, which signified that the warship was reverting into realspace. The crew began to mumble and chatter as their screens lit-up with information from their new environment. Gir began to join them as he flipped through various systems screens and reports.

"Heavy sensor and communication's jamming," noted the HRD.

That much was to be expected. Mandalorian Hypernautics had been at the cutting edge of ECM warfare development, which seemed to have passed on to the latest generation of Mandalorian fighters. Yet Lucerne Labs hadn't been far behind, and his company's influence showed in the warship's electronic warfare module that hung from the bottom of the vessel. Now a battle of skill and power. His technicians and operators would begin to leverage the ship's sensor jammers to deny the Mandalorians solid sensor readings on the Kenobi. The ship's Oracle communication's package would have to rely on comm-lasers to transfer information to their escorts. That wouldn't be a problem for the capital ships accompanying the battle cruiser, though their fighters would be hampered until the Hiridiu-boosted comm's suite would be able to fully burn through the enemy jamming. he flipped through another screen, noting that the rapid response elements of 4th fleet had arrived roughly perpendicular to the Mandalorian forces under General Kaine, but oriented above the Mandalorian's forces, as if they were diving downwards towards the top of his fleet. He singled out a single large vessel that appeared to be flanked by a pair of other Silver Jedi Warships.

"Power up the Onagers," decided Gir, "and target the Dutchmen's Bane. We'll hold our fire until they make the first move..."

Even as the massive railguns began to build up their plasma charge, countless other weapons across 4th Fleet began to reorient and turn to face the other threats of the assembled Mandalorian Armada. Their targeting data wasn't consistent given the sensor operators will still trying to comprehend the methodology of the Mandalorian sensor jamming, forcing many of the gunners to rely on manual aiming through the use of EPRs, but as time passed, each side's ECM specialist would be able to better break through or thwart the other's efforts to target other.

Basaba stood tall as she looked down from the back of the cerberus unit. She had mounted up, her armor gleaming in the light as it looked like a black spec. Her cybernetic arm thicker where the shockwave generator was prepped on it. Her beskad and a lightsaber on her hip. A blade of sorrow for the off hand if she needed it and guns. The cerberus was loaded with different weapons for ground engagements and she had one of the better things to work with. A seige unit was being prepped with all of the intentions needed. Armored divisons could meet up with the general herself on the ground. She just had to get down there to meet up with them and that was where the real fun was going to come down. Basaba stretched out her free arm. The mandalorians she knew could be bull headed from experience but she had herself prepared for any confrontation that might be needed.. really she was just here to the ground experience she could lend and to understand the mindset they were in. Same as a couple other mandalorians that were friend sof the SIlver Jedi. "Prepare Cerberus units, once we are within range, we are going to drop on them."

"Copy that, Jyoti."

He looked toward R4 then. "R4! Park us in the Nightshade before it can take off toward the surface! Keep the engine running when you do, I expect you to ship off the minute that I'm gone" Josh would command toward the droid, though with a softer voice this time so as not to wake Jason again. The droid would let out a series of beeps to indicate affirmative, and the Final Dragon would touch down on the Nightshade before long. Josh took a deep breath as he looked toward Jason's room, knowing he couldn't go back in or he'd never leave. So instead he looked toward HK and nodded his head.

"I'm counting on you, HK."

With that, Josh would motion for the door to open and the ramp to come down. As soon as he walked down it and stepped off, he turned back to the ship.

"Go! Now!"

The ramp would close, and the Final Dragon would take off, leaving it's captain on the Nightshade alone. Taking a deep breath, Josh would walk around until he found the group that had been formed near [member="Jyoti Nooran"] and took his place amongst them, checking his weapons to be sure that he had prepared adequately.

"You don't look like you're dressed for a negotiation" He managed to joke toward Jyoti with a small smile. He watched as the Team Anvil participants would leave, noting that [member="Charlie"], [member="Asaraa Vaashe"], and two others he didn't know remained.

For the next few minutes Tana just stood around, unsure of what to do or where to going, hastily checking over the last of his gear while everyone else seemed ready to head out at a moments notice. "I guess that's what I deserve for taking a few days off, I just hope I don't left behind have I missed the briefing and planing part? that is usually what they do before arming up... right"? For a small moment the fear of being pushed out for late coming or just not picking someone to go with in time gripped the young Jin, but was soon batted aside by the voice of a very familiar Echani Master.

Short sweet and to the point, himself though feeling the master gaze perice a little into his mind, like she was trying to find something, kind of odd but there did not seem to be any harmful intention. "Um okay, good to know, glad I am not to late", it was honestly becoming a bad habit, like the first mission he had with the Silver Shadows and one of the Organa family members. 'Okay it's show time, best pic a personality to use... nah I'll just stick with this one for now'.

Following the large group she stood to the side while Jytoi went through the plan, for the most part easily making sense, but at the same time he had a feeling that such a plan could easily go wrong. Quickly the large group was split up into the two groups, Tanasuki being placed into anvil, quite the pun if he thought about it, and anvil, with the raiders slamming the enemy forces into them, or where they supposed to be unmovable like an anvil? "Less talk more walk-ing to the front lines".

In but a few minutes the drop ships where away to the planets surface, from what he knew Draven and his 'dudes' already on the he surface and charging in guns blazing, goo that would work well. While the reckless Jedi was slogging it out on the front lines Tana would take a more stealthy approach, pick certain people out of the fighting, target them, then slip back before anyone noticed. Perhaps he would go after a field commander and disrupt their enemy comunication? oh there where so many different things he could to to screw with the Mando's, "This is going to be fun".

In 851, a crack commando unit was sent to the timeout corner by a Jedi tribunal for a crime they didn't commit. These younglings promptly escaped from a maximum security after school program to the Kashyyyk playground. Today, still wanted by the Silver Jedi, they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them before bed time... maybe you can hire THE B-TEAM

Location: Barataria (Bear-a-taria?)
Objective: For cookies. And great justice. (But mostly cookies)
Allies: [member="Akela Ru"]

The darkness that lurked in the hearts of men cast a long shadow across the galaxy.

Pirates terrorized the Rim. Mandalorian wars and rumors of Mandalorian wars. Fear of the ongoing crisis with the Sith Empire or First Order were a constant threat to the lives of ordinary people.

But, lo, the sun rose on a brand new day. A light of truth that illuminated the silhouette of a noble hero whose rotund figure and soft, round ears marked a true champion of justice.

A hero who would fight for truth, justice, and the last slice of pizza.

Now, you might be asking yourself: How did a youngling who should have been on Kashyyyk get all the way to the surface of Barataria?

Great question. If you can figure out the answer, then you might also be able to figure out how a bear with only a fourth grade education kept getting into food storage vaults that were secured behind twelve sets of cipher locks. Because the great masters of the Jedi hadn't figured that one out either, as the young Beorni tended to escape from where he was supposed to be asleep with his youngling clan only to be found sleeping in one of the deep freezers next to several empty cartons of chocolate ice cream.

But he was not here for chocolate ice cream. He was here to eat cookies and feth chit up.

...though, if there was also chocolate ice cream, that would really be quite lovely.

Standing firm atop all four paws, the young Beorni's red cape furled in the breeze behind him, as the cub waited for the mighty Wonder Togruta to jump on his back so that the two would go galloping together into danger. Into adventure. Into what was likely to be yet-another-timeout.

Akela was moving and stood there in her jedi robes for a moment until she was looking over at a few things they had. Kiriko was there in front of her. She was enticed with the promise of ice cream... maybe or at the least they would be able to dos omething... find something. She moved towards the bear hopping on his back and held the training saber in one hand.... her lekku twitching in excitement when she touched the fur and it was so fluffy she could just.... die.... no it was super fluffy and you had to feel it. THey needed to share it. "Come Lord Flfufy let us prepare for battle... we must find these intruders, we must save someone and rescue the snacks... before naptime."

Yuroic nodded firmly as Jyoti approved for the mission. He noticed Draven, sensing the anxiety within, it was normal. Only a madman went to war without fear, death was a constant threat, however Yuroic was sure that they would be the ones surviving this encounter. Mandalorians have tried many times to defeat the Jedi Order or Orders over time, from the Mandalorian Wars back in Revan's time to now. Yet the Jedi remained, won and proving that the Force is a strong ally. Yuroic followed Jyoti as she announced the battle plans. He was lart of the team called Anvil, he wasn't a huge fan of the name but he respected the plan and meeting with Master Med-beq was sound. She would offer their team a lot of strength. Yuroic watched as everyone else geared up, moving himself to the dropships, ready to leave.

Yuroic pulled his hood to hide his face as he breathed slowly, preparing his body and mind for the fight coming. He could feel the anger flowing through Draven as he stood with his men. Yuroic took note of this, he had been meaning to discuss this with his former Padawan. Who was now a Jedi Knight, something he had not expected, but time had passed, only fair that the boy continued his training elsewhere. As he stepped off the dropship with a small jump, Yuroic moved closer to Draven before the boy had chance to run off. "Keep your emotions in check, as a Jedi, you do not use anger. You should know this as a Jedi Knight, even in war Jedi never use the Force through anger or hatred. Make sure you stick close to the group, still need to meet up with Master Med-beq." Yuroic stated firmly, lecture could appear hypocritical from him as Yuroic now embraced his emotions when using the Force, even tapped into the Dark Side, but he was no Jedi.

Igniting his golden lightsaber, his dark eyes scanned the surroundings. He kept vigilant for hostiles or any innocents in need of help. Moving with some confidence, he headed in the direction that Master Med-beq had been stated to be. Near the refugee settlement.

The whole castle started to receive fire from the outside. Mandalorians was a sure bet, as their leader was kidnapped. He saw that the main construction wasn´t made of metal, so his spider gloves were pointless. The ship in which he arrive was got shot down and turrets and even some bolts managed to pass the shield and land into the Castle main building. He remembered that he had the main signal of the army and spoke "Acaleus Thorn speaking inside the pirate castle to any Mandalorian outside. Cease fire, im inside with the intension of saving Yara" If they kept firing, he would have a serious physical talk with the commanders after this...if he managed to survive this

He took a deep breath letting the force flow in his body and start running to the main gate. When the assassin was close, an explosion happened that make debris fall from the top floors. Acaleus saw it falling towards him, but he managed to stop the few above him mid air. Although now some pirates spotted him "You, stop right there and..." Acaleus directed the debris towards them "Damn it" he assume every soldier would be distracted by the mandos, but just for the doubts he escaped into the building, closing the main gate with the debris.

It took only a moment pulling them using the force, but he forgot to watch his back. A bolt landed at his back, damaging his cloak. His armor protected him from damage. Acaleus roll backwards creating a force shield. Moments later, those idiots were dead

"But i lose my only advantage..." he kept his cloak, as he could repair it later. Entering a small room in a hallway, he meditate about where to go next. If he was kidnapping a person and the place was surrounded by earth and air "I would dig a hole and escape through there..." so now he needed to find a basement. He search for any enemies before going out.

Major Caelag Vass, Miralukan sniper, had hoped she would've had a better first assignment than this. Mandalorians were powerful warriors, something she remembered distinctly from her last engagement with them. Her chest still hurt if she thought too hard about it, bringing her to raise a hand to touch her armor just over the former break. All the same, she recovered well enough, and admittedly the opportunity to put a little hurt back after so long did get her more than a little excited. Less exciting was the prospect of flying into combat with a Mandalorian, as she was making her way to one who had allied them self with the SJO. She didn't have an assigned unit, a clerical error likely enough, but having come along she took it upon herself to find her way to help. Besides... maybe this Mando wouldn't be a piece of garbage. There was doubt in her mind but, it could be true.

On her left hip rested her two melee weapons, a sheathed sword in an Oricalcum scabbard, and a rapier hilt for a lightsaber. Both weapons weren't common for a soldier, and considering the weight of the scabbard she almost wished that it had been left behind. But, it would prove useful if there came an opportunity to create greater flames, her primary use for the Force outside her sight. Along with these came her issued Ranger SMG, replacing a sidearm, and her beloved X-52, which rested in her hands comfortably as she walked somewhat clunkily along. This Ranger armor, Katarn was it? It just felt, wrong. Too bulky, uncomfortable. Pointless, too, considering the amount of visual systems installed. For a blind woman, their insistence that it be worn was beyond her. Later perhaps it would be discussed, depending on the experience garnered now.

Soon the thoughts were pushed back as she walked into the hangar, and spotted the one in charge there. Well, introductions had to be made and transport acquired. So she walked over, adjusted the hold on her weapon in order to offer Basaba a salute before speaking. "Major Caelag Vass, i appear to be without transport to the battlefield. Requesting permission to accompany your unit to the surface."

When orders came through the communication, Seo listened and nodded. There was no need for her to reply so she didn't. Speaking only there was a need to. As the various people moved into the designated areas, she observed the differences in them. Language, tone and movements of each.

She was assigned to go with Anvil and secure the refugee settlement and deal with any potential hostiles below. Gathering with the rest of the team with her, Seo could tell there was an unease in the air. They were tense with suspicion and preparing for the worst below.

Not bothering to make sure her saber was on her hip, she knew it would be. Climbing aboard the shuttle, she sat as silently as a cat waiting for what was going to happen. Their journey to the ground was smooth and uneventful. As quiet at she was, the others were as well. No random chatter filled the shuttle. Like a well oiled machine, they landed and left the shuttle to meet up with one of the Jedi masters.

Not feeling there was a need to draw her saber yet, she was ready if there was.

"Where are we meeting?"

Four words only, but without the knowledge shared, they would be moving blindly through the wilds.

The three formations arrived at the eastern backside of the forest, and keeping tight, the arrow head formations plunged into the thick foliage. Draven's old master's words still rung in his head, but the more he rolled over them, and thought of them, the more his anger at his master grew. He had been abandoned. Left. Just like everyone else in his life. The knight did not need him anyways. And now, in his moment of triumph the old master returned to try and mentor his student? No. Draven would not be talked to like he was a padawan, not anymore.
The troopers stomped through the forest, moving at the same break neck speed which they set out on, their huge ammo packs strapped to the whirring machines clinking and clanking with the extra parts jostling against each other, along with the massive slugs they were packing, all of them explosive. Draven's saber whirred in his hand, the cold steel now sticky with sweat as he swung it back and forth at his side, rage seeping out of him, stifled, but there. As Draven's Dudes began to come upon Jessica's, they were quick to breeze past them, moving up with speed past the artillery and up towards the edge of the forest. The massive mechs kept far enough back to not be seen, and somewhat deep in the forest. With a machine like efficiency the arrow formation which contained Draven in the center fell back, opening like a flower and allowing the jedi to continue charging forwards. He was a blur amongst the vegetation, leaping from tree to tree, using brute strength to propel the short jedi through the heavily overgrown forest. His mind was on one thing, finding the commander of the forces here in the forest. Eventually he found her, and said, "We are here, forty strong, to assist with what you need woman. Currently my Dudes are on standby just on the edge of the forest, tell me what you need of us."
Draven waited for her response, as did his troops. The massive mechs fell silent.

Yasmyn’s last intergalactic trip to the Southern Systems had been so bizarre, her tihaar bender so severe that the young Mandalorian Captain nearly checked herself into rehab on Sundari in order to recover from it. But aru'ela were too close to the Mandalorian borders.

Barataria. Technically it was Jedi space.

Prior to this moment, the young captain was part of the Mandalorian Defense fleet through its various incarnations, and now specifically for her Uncle and clan member, General Kaine Australis. And like most long and drawn out engagements, the blonde Captain didn’t know exactly who started this one, only that she needed to heed the call which first came from the Terror Australis.

Yasmyn couldn’t decide whether she’d prefer a swift, short fight, slicing off the head of the snake, or something spanning a longer time period, a delicately slow take down of a water buffalo by a pack of lions. Feth me, I’ve been watching too many nature holos, she thought.

The second call came from the Al'Ori'Ramikade: Find the captured Mandalorians, regardless of rank. Bring them back. Try not to start a full scale war.

“It can’t be the Jedi?” she asked, co-captain Agol from the Bridge of The Tiger's Tail. “Can it?” There was no hesitation now in where they were traveling. Yasmyn could feel The Tiger's Tail changing course, even as she stood side by side with her XO.

“Not really sure, Cap’n. In this galaxy anything is possible.”

Later in the journey, Yasmyn heard the actual details from General Australis, and her anger spiked, made worse by a pounding migraine from her bender on the Fortressa. “Bic ni skana'din.” She popped a couple of pain pills and remained silent for most of the trip until the entrance to the Baratarian atmosphere.

A hearty cry roared through the crew like thunder: “Oya manda!” as they glimpsed fellow Mandalorian vessels, including the distinct Dutchman’s Bane, coming into view.

"We're moving out. R6, lock onto Nightshade's coordinates and follow them. We're going to Barataria."

And just like that, Flugnir entered hyperspace and, eventually ending up where Nightshade was, only a bit offset to prevent any mishaps when reverting back to real space. "Steady as she goes, R6. Seems we're going groundside. I'll prepare you take us down." The droid beeped several times as it took control of the ship. Odin made his way to his ship's armory and grabbed his saberstaff and made for the exit. Flugnir landed in a clearing, hidden from easy sight. From the ramp descending from the ship, Odin stepped down and walked onto the planet's surface.

"R6, keep the ship safe while I'm gone. I'll be back soon." Odin ran off to rendezvous with the rest of the troops.

"And let slip the dogs of war."

Rhaegar Dib watched as the forces led by the berserker, Ambrose, charged forward through the forest on the scent of death. There would be no pulling the leash, no corraling them, no talking sense to them. There would be no peace. There would only be blood, vengeance, and death. And that was exactly what was needed. The Mand'alor was in dire straits, his Mand'alor and friend of his riduur. This day the line from the Creed was true.

Peace was a lie.

So as the warriors charged forward Rhaegar lightly released the buttons of his suit jacket and tossed his cane in the air as he rolled his shoulders to loosen them. His left hand pulled the shades from his face and plucked them into his breast pocket. As the cane fell back to the earth he snatched it with his right hand. Rhaegar was gone and in it's place was Nemesis, the Dragon of Dorin. Cold cruel lips lifted into a smile as the last of the troop slipped from his sight.

And thus it began.

The walk started slowly, the limp in his gait fading with each step. The tempo of his walk increased until he was soaring through the forest. The civilized trappings he wore of the gentleman were no longer his identity. He now moved like a great predator closing for his prey. He was not just a predator, but the predator.

Leaping in his run, Nemesis kicked from a tree trunk to the next, each bound launching him higher into the air until he landed in a crouch upon a tree trunk. Already he had closed the distance between himself and the forces he had arrived with, easily finding the form of the gurlanin commander at the fore. His lips twisted into a snarling grin and leaping forward he drove through the trees bounding ahead of the forces below.

As he moved silently through the trees, over twenty meters above the ground, he let the force flow through him. Pulling at his aura he shrank his presence, until it was nigh the size of a small stone. Controlling his breathing he used the force and altered his body temperature, more readily achieved through his falleen biology, until his core temperature matched the environment he was passing through. In effect his presence should not appear on any biometric or heat signature scanners nor be readily noticed in the force. Though his passage through the tree tops left indications that could point to his crossing, the forces amassing and approaching the enemy would most certainly be the focus. Though he didn't believe he would be seen until he struck, he had been wrong before and made allowance for just such an eventuality.

Nearing the enemy lines he slowed his approach until he had crossed over the front of the opposition. Eyes flickered over those below, seeing them already engaging the mando'ade. He blinked for a moment as Rhaegar shifted within the mask of Nemesis. His soul ached momentarily at the connection he had felt from the beginning of the end upon Maramere. But he shunted away the emotions, choosing the facade of Nemonus.

Reaching out in the force he wove a spell into the intricacies of the force as he stimulated cellular growth and manipulated the plant life in the trees. The rapid explosion commanded and nudged with telekinesis from Nemesis dropped from above and below the enemy forces. Sharp shards of roots burst from the ground from beneath their feet. Twisted and sharpened stakes lunging for thighs, groins, and soft abdomens as vines dropped from above seeking throats to throttle, arms to entangle, particularly one soldier who for some reason had gained the ire of several vode.

The gun was lowered and Charlie knew she was doing something she wasn’t supposed. A sheepish smile was returned to her Master who was trying not to scold her too much in front of everyone. Charlie was grateful for it. She was instantly distracted from the gun by the shield Jyoti had turned on. Tilting her head, she examined it and nodded understanding the purpose of the shield. The gun was soon forgotten as Charlie now took the shield and fiddled with it, trying to understand it before going into the fight.

Charlie found it interesting her Master mentioned going to the range later. The comfort of knowing that there was a later was something the padawan hadn’t developed yet. She wondered if making plans or looking forward to tomorrow helped make walking straight into fire like they were easier. Finding the answer wasn’t something she wanted to poke around for. Especially right this second. There was an energy surging through the armory and Charlie didn’t want to dampen it. The shield turned on and turned off several times as Charlie engraved its radius into her mind.

It would be terrible if she expanded the shield expecting to protect herself and lose a head. Chuckling at the thought, she shook her head and glanced up. “Thank you! I’m going to hold you to the shooting range.” The thought of throwing the shield made Charlie the most excited. She began to practice a motion to throw the shield, but knew she probably wouldn’t get an opportunity to do so. Jyoti started to speak after Josh and the others arrived. She nodded to each of the group she knew and then paid attention to the Master.

The quick briefing got the padawan worked up, she remembered the brief tussles she had had with the Sith before this, but the Mandalorians were something else. They fought differently, they had ways to cut off the Force from the Jedi. A hand fingered the end of the hilt of the lightsaber at her thigh, the ancient weapon of the Jedi. The corners of her lips curled into a slight smile as the excitement for battle continued to rise.

Charlie chewed on her thumb as she wanted to ask a few questions, mostly about the Mandalore. Though she assumed the woman would go over that in their final briefing. She’d hold her questions until then. Josh made a comment to Jyoti about not being dressed for negotiations and Charlie smirked. These were the type of negotiations she liked, though she understood the meaning behind the others.

“Master Dragonsflame,” Charlie’s sly little smirk spread father across her face. “I bet I can fight more Mandos than you can.”

Josh's attention was taken for a moment by Charlie's comments and he would look toward the smaller Padawan for a moment, having to strain to look down to see her. His expression changed to a bright, soft smile then, as he would regard the playfulness of her remarks. He couldn't help but find humor in those remarks, but he did appreciate the brightness in a time like this. He knew he needed to keep upbeat himself.

"Charlie" He regarded, chuckling lightly. "Bite their ankles for me, will ya?"

He was teasing, of course. He meant no actual harm by the height joke, and if she were actually offended he would probably surprise her with a cookie or something later. He'd grown a bit attached to the little ankle biter, he could admit. He couldn't help but worry for her safety out in the field, but he knew that Jyoti had trained her well. Hopefully, he wouldn't have to worry. The Master would check his weapons once more while he waited for the order to ship out for their team. He didn't tend to use weapons outside of his lightsaber, but he'd made an exception this go around. He had to prepare for any and all possibilities.

The locker room was a whole lot different than what Allyson was used to. A pair of headphones rested on the brunettes’ head as she shimmied out of her street clothes and slipped into the flight suit. She didn’t pay attention to anyone else in the locker room and continued to quietly dance as the beat built up. People filed out and then as she zipped up the flight suit she began to get a bit more eccentric with her dance moves. Hips moved as she mouthed the words of the song and moved about. Standing up on the benches she hugged herself and moved to the beat till she was kneeling. Jumping off she continued to dance with a quick step exchange.

Grabbing the rest of her gear she headed into the hanger and continued along with the beat in her step. Allyson moved about the hanger where her X-Wing was stationed. She was being borrowed from Onyx squad for this mission and she didn’t mind it. She could meet other pilots and work with them, also allowed her to get a name for herself among the others in the faction. As she walked, every so often she slid and gave a little shimmy or a booty shake to the beat. Finding her X-Wing she went into full performance mode and pressed her back against the ship and moved along it and shook her butt.

Moments like this were rare moments for the Corellian, she was happy. There was no guilt climbing into the craft that she felt she was born to fly. No one and nothing holding her back from what she wanted to do or be. As faced the X-Wing’s side she continued to dance with the last bit of the song and soon someone grabbed the headset from her head. Sliding it down her brunette hair, Allyson blinked and then turned to face one of the mechanics.

“Uh Lt. Commander?” Allyson nodded and fixed the stray strands of hair from her face, coughing slightly. The mechanic handed the woman the final flight checks and handed her the helmet. The man also motioned in a zipping up fashion towards the Lt. Commander. Allyson looked down and frantically finished zipping up her flight suit. “Nice first impression Locke.” The only thing the Corellian could do was laugh a little and climb into the cockpit of the machine. It wasn’t her usual fighter, but it was a good time to check things out that the other squadrons had. The former Rogue fiddled with the controls as she heard her BB unit loaded in.

“You find the aux cord in this thing yet Bait?” The droid trilled happily as the cockpit closed and Allyson closed her eyes slightly listening to the next song that came up. She waited for the next set of her instructions, today she flew free for the first time what felt like forever.

Draven returned to his Dudes, the squadron standing idly, waiting for their master to return. Captain George's voice crackled through the comms, "Took ya long enough. When do we get to kill somethin?" Draven snorted in reply and said, his voice deep and morphed in the oxygen battle mask, "Soon. Lets go men." And with that, the shock troopers were off once again, the three arrow head formations forming a large triangle between them, Draven in the center of the point arrow head. The knight was a blur among the trees, he had to be to keep up with The Dudes. They were moving at incredible speeds, the shining blue armor seeming like walls among the foliage, stomping down and trampling the thorns and shrubs which would usually be in their way.
As they sprinted, Draven closed his eyes, giving in to the feeling of burning muscles, cold oxygen, and clear air, as he reached out in the force. He wanted to feel the forest, and all the life forms within it. The knight would be faced with incredible rage, and hate, almost overwhelming in its force, as soon as he came upon this great disturbance, he began to move his unit towards it. The Dudes ripped through foliage, tearing saplings out of the ground it it came to it, their heavy chain guns hefted in the massive armored arms, the suits were not to be trifled with, and any enemy they came upon in the unawares, would be slammed into with full force.
Sadly the enemies which they came upon had already sprung on some of the other silver's troops. Roots were blasting everywhere over the troops, stabbing into any unexposed area, and absolutely ripping apart the group. Draven roared, "PHALANX!" And the Dudes responded immediately. Draven's squad of Dudes were the first to break formation, the back line of the arrow head spreading out and forming a single line, facing the explosion. The two other formations followed suit, making a tight knit box, two rows of Dudes on each side, forty of Draven's Dudes in all. The first line of dudes went down on a knee, machine guns hefted and ready, the second line all drew their massive revolvers, which fired explosive slugs, then waited, preparing for whatever was to come. It seemed like a immovable wall of steel had been erected in the forest, silent and waiting for the howling enemy, Draven paced back and forth along the back of the front line, not even close to being able to see over the suits, but simply feeling with the force.
The saber in his hand set the knight apart, not to mention his bright white plates of armor, and short stature. Draven roared, "Advance!" As no enemy combatants were seen, but Draven felt their approach. The Dudes let out a massive, "HOO" And strode forwards, the box formation never breaking, then set down once again. They were now almost on the scene of carnage, troops writhing underneath the roots. Whatever came out of the forest into their little clearing, they would be ready.

A steady stream of SJO-channel SOS signals poured from the ‘refugee’ camp. Reports of individual incursions of torpedo-like devices hitting into the structure. People screaming in the background, as scanned heat signatures showed over 150 beings of varied sizes and species rushing about.

“George! There’re life signs in here!” Billy gulped, from the Pirate Command.

“Course there are, Billy. We’re in here.” George picked at his nail, the grime of Garos still present.

“No, George.” Billy slapped his chin up from his sensor screen. “Mandos.”

“Mandos?” George gripped his chair. The pirates in the command centre of their refugee stronghold stopped, and grabbed their weapons.

“Mandos.” Billy said, placing his hands on the screen. “And they’re mad.”

“Get Kanta and the girls out and centre… wait… how did they get to us so fast? Didn’t we strip their weapons when we brought them?”

“Yes, Sir, but there must have been a secret comm.”

“Search the Prisoners. Separate them.” George grimaced, sending four of his men to search [member="Cassiopeia Caranthyr"], [member="Kaden Mantis"] & [member="Yasha Mantis"].

“The girl, she’s…”

“A dead Mand’alor is even better at causing a war. Apparently she’s the only thing keeping the bucket heads from going full warlord on the Galaxy.” George flicked the comms.

“ISAF, ISAF. [member="Cassius Droma"], [member="Liuna Ondizi"], [member="Stephanie Swail"]! This is George Furlough of Refugee Settlement Baralpha. We have insurgents on our scanners, please send reinforcements! Hurry!”

An SJO vessel, the Stardust was en route with supplies, this George knew. Hopefully they would get here in time to start that war. Pirates masquerading as refugees milled about, taking up strategic positions and locking down corridors.

Kanta rushed out, putting up a sign he made for the ruse. A simple plastic sign, painted with an even simpler script.

‘Refoogee Settlement’

There. The coconut dressed Akalenedat’ike scurried back inside as he caught sight of [member="Acaleus Thorn"]. He shimmied up to one of the others, motioning with an interpretive dance that a man was in the base, and which direction he was in.

The Pirate rushed, rifle raised to shoot Acaleus Thorn and end the threat. “An enemy’s in the gate!”

Pirates took tactical positions, armed with bow casters, rifles and lightsabers stolen from the dead. [member="Gray Raxis"], [member="Rex Taff"] and [member="Cynthia Garon"] would have to pass through them.

Around the next corner, three Pirates waited with a minigun and two rifles of ISAF design. They opened fire the second they saw him, covering fire in the corridor which, once passed, had four blast doors and resistance between Rex and the Mand’alor from his position.

Four heavily armed pirates entered the cell block, where the three wounded Mandalorians were holed up. Two of the pirates pointed their rifles at Yasha’s stomach and Cassiopeia, another firing a weak stun-bolt at Kaden.

“They have knives!”

“Who searched these people!? Whoever it is, is getting shot in the backside!”

“Where is it!? Where are your comms? Give us your comms!” Gary had to yell over the sound of Yasha gasping and choking on another contraction, knees shaking as her hands pressed at her belly’s sides.

“Kaden!” Yasha screamed, teeth clenched and a thin line of sweat pouring down her temples.

“Shut her up! Shut up! Keep her quiet, or I’ll shoot! I’m going to fething kill you, put the knives down or I shoot!” Gary pointed his rifle at Yasha’s foot, and fired, the blaster bolt sizzling inches away from her. “Where are your comms!?”

There was no answer to Elijah, but it didn’t take a postgraduate physics student to figure out that the Mandalorians had hostile intent with their maneuvering and the targeting of Spacy ships.

“The Mandalorians do know we can see them moving, right?” Yix inquired, frowning.

Those battlecruisers, in particular, would take about an eternity to rotate on the twin destroyer lines, giving Spacy commanders ample time to ponder the curious action. All the while, the Subutai units of Lament and Yojimbo were studying the profiles of every ship in the Mandalorian formation, and determined that the massive warships were swinging around for optimal fire arcs. The units began to recommend that the destroyer lines maneuver to deny the enemy the opportunity.

“They don’t care,” Elijah said, thumbing his chin. “Australis thinks he has us pinned down, otherwise he would have done the smart thing and made a tactical retreat. As usual the Mandalorians underestimate us, and that will be their undoing.”

“Kelgar, have you pinpointed the sources of the jamming in the system?”

“Aye, a trio of heavy cruisers (pygmies).”

Following the conversation, the Subutai unit of Bahamut brought up a rendering of the ships in another holo pane for Elijah’s viewing pleasure.

“Very good. Focus fire on those jamming cruisers, Bane, and the fighters now buzzing around your escorts. Adjust your destroyers’ positions to keep out of alignment with the bows of their battlecruisers. As soon as you detect weapons charging, fire. One salvo, then get out. Be sure to leave Australis with the present of some Statets before you go.”

Lament and Yojimbo, already passively scanning all the ME ships and fighters assembling around them, had their firing solutions prepared in less than a blink while the destroyer’s made very subtle adjustments with vernier thrusters until they were out of alignment with what was determined to be the bow of each battlecruiser trying to reorient against them.

Sharing data with Quee’s battlegroup now on the scene, he could see that the Directorate commander also had his ships ready to fire. Between both Quee’s and Kelgar’s forces on the scene, they could deliver a nasty beating to the ME vessels early on.

While the standoff between opposing commanders continued, fighting was already underway in the cyber realm. The Mithril protected biocomm networks detected an attempt at intrusion by an external entity. It was quite easy to detect for a couple major reasons. First, every villip strain utilized in the biocomm system had their own unique identifying marker logged in database. So the foreign entity with a strange signature attempting to contact them stuck out like a sore thumb. Secondly, the intruder (MOMALOR) failed to provide the correct key for access to the heavily encrypted networks during a required authentication process.

The intruder was flagged, and that particular signal closed off from wirelessly (or telepathically) accessing the network again. The intruder was happy to keep up with their attacks, but they would find it no easy task against an alert security network leveraging the computational power of several neural networks dedicated wholly to defense. Then with each attack, the system would begin to learn, and adapt its defenses to make them more robust against further intrusions.

The whole process happened in less than a blink of an eye, while slow and cumbersome organics where still scheming on all the ways to murder each other.

The Mandalorians struck first, but not in the way expected. With HSI, hundreds of small objects were detected dropping out of hyperspace all around the pair of destroyers.

With every vessel, there was always some lag between reversion and the ability to maneuver in realspace. This rule also applied to the drones now bearing down on the destroyers, and within that tiny window, their computer guided point defenses were able to get a lock onto drones and fire. Ironically, it had been the microjumps that had aided in tracking the missiles, which possessed low reflectively. Had they been launch normally, then the sensors would have had a tougher time picking them up.

Hundreds of Vespa, Deimos, and Casper units came alive, filling the immediate space around destroyers with a dazzling display of lights from counteless projectiles and bolts.

Positron bolts that connected with some of the drones created a deadly chain of reaction as they were annihilated in a matter-antimatter reaction, releasing intense bursts of deadly electromagnetic radiation. The waves of energy fried or outright destroyed other nearby drones, or set off their warheads early, causing more missiles to be consumed in a hellish emerald blaze.

Rapid fire autorippers shredded through missiles that made it through the radiation bursts of the Deimos, while the Casper worked to disable or bat away the few missiles that made it within their range with their combo beams of antigravity and microwaves.

Most of the missiles were destroyed with the computer controlled interlocking fire, though a few got through. Usually, this would have been where the shields kicked in, but something strange happened.

The drones cut right through them.

They slipped past the shields then collided directly with the hull. Fortunately, what few drones did hit didn’t do too much harm. Had their payloads been armor penetrating concussion warheads, then they may have had more serious effect, but instead, they let off unfocused energy blasts against the hull. The outer neutronium infused layer of the composite armor worked beautifully to further disperse the energy of the blasts across the hull, which resulted in no penetration. However, some lightly armored emplacements were damaged by the blasts, rendering them partially or wholly inoperable for the time being.

Lament and Yojimbo had been waiting for a somewhat different sign to act, as soon as those drones had been detected, the destroyers and their escorts began to hightail it away from the enemy formation as they began to fire, narrowly avoiding the shots of the massive proton beam cannons previously aimed at them. Big spinal mounted weapons weren’t optimal in close range against much more nimble opponents, especially when one could see them being aimed at a glacial pace. They did take some successful hits from the battlecruiser’s cruiser escorts (Myrkr), but point defenses and shields saved them from the worst of the attacks as they were on the move.

Meanwhile, they hammered the Pygmies and the Bane with their heavy HVC batteries in a single devastating strike. The HVC batteries spewed dozens of huge vibro-flechettes at their targets. Much more deadly than the basic slug, each flechette was designed to focus their destructive output within a tiny area of a dinner plate to increase the chance of penetration. This effect was enhanced by the vibrating tips, which could go onto fry systems (and people) with powerful electric shocks if they found themselves embedded within a structure.

At the same time, the Akula launched dozens of plasma torpedoes from their Torrent batteries at the fighters attempting to harass their Kobolds. Fired at full power, the plasma torpedoes streaked toward their targets at a blistering .2c. At such a short range, it would probably be unlikely for anything to dodge the torpedoes moving at a fraction of lightspeed.

The destroyers’ Kobold escorts let too during the synchronized attack and they followed along, railing against the enemy fighters with their combination of fast tracking turbolasers, launchers, and flechette cannons. When their retribution shields were struck by energy attacks, the feedback system generated an energy bolt to instantly sling right back at the offender. The corvettes had been designed for such a scenario, dealing with swarms of enemy fighters and coming out on top.

The poor Sowa, all it could do was dodge and deflect any fire directed toward it, but it was faster and stealthier than just about anything in the field at the time and enjoyed the protection of Lament as it stayed in close by the hull within the envelope of its point defenses.

After a few seconds, the twin destroyer lines were clear of obstruction and had a clear path for another microjump, this time for the heliosphere of the northern edge of the Barataria system. However, before they blinked out of view, Lament and Yojimbo both launched a payload of Statet missiles (10). They were aimed at no particular craft, but rather the empty space near the center of the ME formation.

In a series of high-g turns, the fast moving missiles angled themselves to crash into each other at the designated coordinates. Right before contact, the warheads activated, generating a series of powerful singularities. A huge explosion of powerful gravity waves was created right in the middle of the formation as the singularities collided at high speed, a violent warp capable of shearing apart all nearby starships.

There had been some surprises along the way, but Elijah had been able to pull off his bold maneuver, exploiting the Mandalorians’ arrogance. He may not have crippled them with that attack like he wanted, but he hoped to at least leave them reeling as Quee and Sala’dine got their licks in.

Summary of Actions

 • Elijah interprets Kaine’s lack of response and telegraphing as a sign to prepare for an attack, and quickly plans a response in the time it takes for the giant and slow moving ME battlecruisers to reorient against the Silver destroyer lines within their midst.

 • In cyberland, all Mithril protected ships are successful in defeating an intrusion attempt by Kaine’s AI. Cyber defense systems are now alert and thus will make slicing their defenses much harder. Elijah will be alerted to this unusual event.

 • As the Mando ships begin to attack, Elijah’s ships start to maneuver for a quick micro jump to the edges of the system while simultaneously attacking the Pygmies, Bane, and fighters targeting the destroyer’s Kobold escorts.

 • Before jumping, the Lament and Yojimbo launch singularity missiles that collide at the center of the ME to produce deadly gravity waves to destroy or damage all nearby ships, the support craft near the epicenter likely being the most vulnerable. The powerful gravity waves may possibly affect all gravitic based sensors and communication systems due to the interference they create.
