Invasion Welcome to the Jungle! [OS - Republic Invasion of Kashyyyk]

Location: defend the gates
Objective: Objective B
Allies: The republic
Enemies: The One Sith, and her former friends

She was hear to try negotiate with the republic, it never started as the sith came. She knew they were coming before they did, as her dark was still linked to them. She then looked and saw drop pods descending to the planet, she looked at everyone she was with, as they ran to there place on the battle lines. She then cloaked herself in the force, she was a trained assassin, trained by them who come to the planet. She was going to use against them, once chaos she look for single target. Zero in on them, and then eliminate them. She was wearing not her battle armour, but her light phrik weave this was she did not expect the battle until now. This however was still good armour to have, also it was easier to use stealth in without the extra material.

As she fade into the force, she began to move towards the front. She was waiting for the fighting to begin, so she could ambush sith from behind....

Shinju looked at the woman and pet who came near her as she held a grin on her face, madness and enjoyment coming while she walked almost skipping with her hand empty. She looked towards the goal the first thing she tasted that wasn't a sith and spoke. "You know what to do yes? We kill everything not us and allow their blood to wash over the city to cleanse it for our use." Her hand went towards the blade on her back while taking it out and the revving of the sith sword came, the whinning with gore covered teeth flinging blood as a mist before Shinju started slashing into something. "Kill them all and dance with their entrails."

As cipher nine sat in dark of intelligence section of the wars the carrier, he looked over the available in intelligence on the sith’s target of Kashyyyk the wookie home world while, sacking this planet and leave a burning wreck of death and carnage would defiantly be a great display of power he could not help but wonder at strategic value of the target. He studied the Republic’s past tactics and strategy and determined that most likely staging areas for the Republic other than Kashyyyk itself were the nearby planets of Charros IV and Umbara with the latter being the more likely given it’s large spaceport for setting up repair facility and rapid deployment of troops and ships. As he further examined the sector map he saw the best staging ground for the Sith would be either the Mandolorian controlled world of Togoria which was closer to the target but the Mandolorains were notoriously territorial and unpredictable, the next best spot the unaligned world of Bimmissaari which was further form the target and bordered by Mandorlian and Republic space making an pinch point should it be prolonged assault. This campaign would not be easy and many lives would lost on both sides but his job was to gather and present the all intelligence he could muster to voices and hands of the dark lord so could plan appropriately and assist in reaching the goal covertly and clandestinely which were specialties of his. He doubled his array of poisons blasters, blades and the rest of his gear, made a final check of data spikes straightened his uniform and head for the bridge.

Soft red light emanated from a fixture above. That light cast shadows of monstrous forms, everything from large bulking muscle bound freaks, to smaller more nimble rat like beings, they were the adopted races of the primeval. The races of monsters that flew under the banner of the failed Supreme Overlord Dredge himself. They all remained silent as the ship rattled and descended down upon the forest world of the Wookies, their eyes focused on one figure in front of them that stood in pure malevolence. Some shook with fear while others simply had sick grins of admiration and respect plastered on their faces, regardless how one felt the being sent chills down the spines of lesser beings.

"I will have you all know." The voice of the figure spoke out in a inhuman voice that sounded as if three dar booming voices carried on top of the other.

"The hundred of you who falls in battle will be punished. I will kill your friends, I will kill your children, I will kill your mothers, your sisters and your brothers, I will kill your slaves, I will kill everything you hold dear to your hearts. Let this be an incentive for you to not fall in battle, let it serve you as reminder that I will only accept the best to serve the dark lord." The voice spoke it's promise and soon the massive figure turned and the entire cabin shook violently.

Above the massive forests the five primeval drop barges began to cast out ropes from their sides and quickly deposited their cargo of four hundred and thirty men. The giant black iron clad figure was the first to touch down, he hit the ground hard behind him hundreds of Graug, Yuuzhan Vong, and Kaalonians rose up behind him.

"Let us begin." He said in his powerful voice.

Dredge wore the armor of the late Sith Lord Darth Vulcanus, and strapped to his back was the vile sith sword Vulcanus himself brought into battle. Ahead of them was the black blade guard and Darth Vornskr preparing for the attack, he was to link up with his liege and attack the stronghold. Dredge drew the mighty blade and began to run forward towards the dark lord as he exited his drop pod.

Dredge caught up to the man and the red eyed burning figure that was dredge stood at around equal height with the man. The remaining psychic energy of Krag fused with the darkside nexus within his armor took control of Dredge's mind and pushed him into the back of his brain. Now this new entity born of the darkside had taken control and was Vornskr's puppet in which he controlled. The darkside entity bowed before Kaine using Dredge's body as a meat suit and spoke as he dropped to one knee.

"My lord. Allow my men to lead the charge, their lives are worthless compared to that of the might of your guard." The darkside entity said as he kept his eyes trained on Kaine's feet.

He would wait for his lords choice. Dredge was shoved back into his mind and to the overlord reality was altered to believe he stood as equal to kaine. When in reality this consciousness of the darkside remained in control.

Location: Kashyyyk, duh. Oh, you want more specific? Landing on North-East Branch on Objective 2
Objective: Capture/Destroy Yugwaaargh
Allies: I actually don't know. If you're on the same branch @me please.
Enemies: It shall be THE WILL OF THE FORCE(or perhaps slight metagaming) That I meet [member="Taheera Sollo"] In Battle!!!!!!

Kashyyyk. Randial had been here once before, fought here once before. The circumstances were much different. the foes, the allies, the armaments. It was a different time nowadays. There were lessons to be learned from that he supposed. Unlike the rest of the One Sith forces Randial did not care to excessively arm himself. He held a mesh undersuit, which admittedly was far more than it appeared, some durasteel armor atop that that could hold up to a few blaster bolts, and a long-handled crimson lightsaber. He needed no tools other than the Force and the manpower of the Sith behind him to keep himself alive and kicking. Or better yet, alive and killing. As the dropship landed on what was marked the North-East Branch Randial go out and surveyed his surroundings. Unlike the other four paths the North-East branch had nothing connecting it to another branch. Short of say, a flying dragon, their would be no reinforcements from the other branches. Nor would their be any heavy vehicles. But the stronghold itself, Yugwaaargh? It could reinforce the North-East Branch at any time provided it had the soldiers necessary to do so. It was a near-suicide mission.

One Randial welcomed freely. Commissioning a speeder he mounted the lighter vehicle and began charging towards Yugwaaargh. It was time the fight began.

Kashyyyk.

It was one of the most aesthetically pleasing planets in the entire galaxy. The Force's gentle brush strokes blessed the celestial body with mystical augmentation. Here, everything was larger than life. Wroshyr trees soared high above the ground, their domains unquestionable and absolute. Deep blue oceans spread vast and wide across immense continents of lush green. Even the inhabitants, the wookiees, were large, not only in stature, but in lofty ideals and phsyiological appetite -- in their loyalty, their honor, and their strength.

Could the One Sith's onslaught rival such a prodigious planet? They say the tallest trees have the deepest roots.

Ayden Quell's hard gaze met the coast line, a brown synthleather jacket hugging his torso tight. He ran his hands over the lightsaber hilt on his utility belt, and the standard Republic blaster pistol on his hip. The young Human was hardly battle-ready and the nervousness with which he expressed himself was a clear indication. He kept a steady glare, to founder the thoughts that rolled in with the tide.

Then like a tsunami from Chaos herelf, the One Sith forces began their assault. Reports were coming in quickly over comm channels and the military haste kicked into overdrive. The battle had begun and so did Ayden's panic. With trembling hands, the young Padawan turned apprehensively to his master, [member="Kian Karr"], and awaited further instructions.

Pilot Sressechka dashed for her XJ-9 X-Wing fighter, Fairweather Friend, veteran of the Battle of Manaan. Six fresh kill marks decorated the nose of her ship, proudly declaring that its pilot was an ace by classic standards. Lashed lekku flapping in her wake, the rutian leaped for the rungs of the boarding ladder and quickly clambered to the top of the hull with the dexterity of a monkey. She had been through this routine all her life. It was second nature to her. But only once before had she ever served in wartime conflict, which made this situation so much different from all the other thousand times she had performed this climb.

Rolling over the edge of the hull and plopping into the cockpit seat, the Blazing Angel's blue angel quickly fastened her restrainers and donned a rather twi'lek-specific helmet. Wheezer beeped and whistled from behind her as the canopy lowered itself over her and then shunted back and locked in place. "Let's get it on, Wheezer," she remarked, saluting to the crewman that she was ready to take off. There was barely any hesitation from him--he immediately waved her onward with his lighted rods.

Deep breath.

The X-Wing began to approach the mouth of the hangar, gradually gaining speed as it hovered over the flight personnel below. Soon enough, she was darting out of the carrier and into the skies, course set for the One Sith carrier not too many kilometers away. "Angel Five, standing by," she called out to her squadron. [member="Keanu Shan"] would be leading them this round, so she would run a looping pattern until his craft emerged from the carrier and she could take a wing position with her squadron mates. "For the Republic!"

Krest stood by the doorway [member="Graxin Rade"] was having his meeting in. He wanted to keep his distance from the Graug in case he happened to be recognized. Of course, it wouldn't be long until he was called in. Krest was not a Jedi Lord of the Ession. He was not a commander of armies, nor was he a rally point for troops. He was a soldier, one to fight and kill.

The Zabrak would step into the room with his brother. Adorned in his basic outfit, he seemed prime for combat. Six sabers lined his waist, each of varying sizes and uses. There were two short sabers, a duel phase saber, two flat sabers, and a staff attached to the sheath of his sword. Speaking of, the sword was strapped to his back, the hilt of the sword in easy reach. With arms crossed over his chest the Blademaster stood before the Archlord.

"Where do you need me?"

Location: Moving towards Kachiro
Objective: Secure Kachiro
Allies: [member="Darth Venefica"], One Sith
Enemies: Pretty uch everything but One Sith.

Khan exited the dropship with the other sith, walking along behind Venefica and her minions. It would have been easier to land closer to the city, he was sure they wouldn't have had suffieicnt defences ready yet... Khan shook his head. Now they had to trudge through the jungle to get there. Stalling the figthing. The Acolyte growled under his breath, just before the small skrimishing force of Wookiees and such appeared from the underbrush. More stalling. While the Knight's underlings fire on the enemy, Khan raised a hand, attempting to call the force into his hand, to send out a wave of the Force to throw the enemy aside. Obviously, his own opinion in his power was far above his actual current abilities. Rather then throwing the enemies aside, he managed to send out a meager push that only made the nearest soldier stumble. And then he managed to scramble behind cover with the soldiers as the skrimishing party returned fire. THough that gave the soldiers an opening to gun down that particular soldier, int he grand scheme of things it was very little. This wasn't what he was here for; hiding in the brush, in the jungle, while others stole glory capturing the city. While the soldiers under Venefica's command and the skirmishing party lit up the surroundings with blaster fire, Khan moved quickly through the bushes and giant ferns flanking the fight. Despite the thick foliage, he moved quickly, his tail trailing out behind him to balance him as he moved over roots and jutting plants attempting to trip him. He would move around them; flank them from behind. Whatever to get to the city faster... He wasn't looking for delays.

"How many did we lose?"

"Six. Four against the Vong, and two to vacuum....Hawk was present. I'm sorry Master Sergeant."

Book slammed a heavy boot into the durasteel wall within he base. Six Dreadguard lost in a vacuum retrieval. It was a simple operation; blow the hull, retrieve the package, exfill in time for dinner. Instead, they had run into Sith forces, particularly the Vong. Not a soul had survived on either side.

How many Dreadguard II's did that leave now? Nine?

The first batch of Dreadguard were legion. The second were far more advanced, far cheaper, and far less in number. Casualties were starting to mount, and that small initial body count was starting to be a lot more relevant than it was at the start of the project.

"As it stands, you and Jason are the only Dreadguard accounted for on planet. Fox Squad is out in the forest somewhere. We've been out of contact for some time."

The Dreadguard commander grit his teeth, and fought the urge to curse at Stanley. The AI was a constant companion, and he never lied. Stanley was only doing his job, albeit a cold and gruesome one.

No one liked counting bodies.

Book said nothing as he marched down the halls. Republic soldiers were scrambling about to repel the Sith forces. They were none of Book's business.

The Jedi had command here, and Book had his Peacekeepers. It was a small force sent to inspect the stronghold. A Sith attack was not expected.

"Where's Jason?"

"Waiting on the North bridge. So are the Peacekeepers...you should have worn something nice. The armor is flashy, but it's terrible for speeches. The reporters can't get picture of your good side."

"I'll survive."

They came out from the northern entrance. Three hundred Peacekeepers and Dreadguard two-four were busying themselves laying anti-personel mines along the massive branch.

A single cannon stood in the center of the entrance. The fire lines were clear.

"ROE's Sir?" Jason snickered.

Book strode up, took the man's fist in his, and bumped shoulders.

"Slot 'em all. Remember to keep at a range with the Sith. Poor sods can't do osik when you aren't in range of their glow sticks."

"They shoot lightning from their fingertips."

Book grunted his disapproval, and shrugged at Jason.

"Stanley doesn't know what he's talking about. That's just a myth. It's all BS if you ask me."

The Peacekeepers all looked at the two Dreadguard. Book nodded, and Jason followed suit. Without a word, the soldiers of the Army of Light lined up to defend the bridge.

Book opened a broadcast to all Republic channels.

"This is Dreadguard Zero-Eight. My forces have the northern bridge."

NPC Troops: 5000 Royal Guards, 2000 Vong, 1000 droids

From sea-side a whole army appeared out of seemingly nowhere, one could almost say that the ocean itself had spawned the hellish apparition to cast vengeance upon the weakness of the Republic… or perhaps the Sith Lord whose name was Darth Carach simply enjoyed theatrics a little bit too much.

Anyway.

Through the usage of the aquatic Yuuzhan Vong armour and other aquatic vehicles the Voice of the Dark Lord managed to transport a sizeable portion of his army to the beach, sizeable… because this was not all that Carach possessed, not even most of it.

The problem was those pesky AA installations around the Tree-City that he was supposed to capture, they were making it difficult for the rest of his troops to land and that would have to be corrected. In the meanwhile while Carach was pondering these musings around him the reinforcement of the beachhead was almost done.
If for some reason the invasion didn’t go exactly as planned, they would have a solid fortification to retreat too - evacuation purposes. But the Voice didn’t truly believe it would be necessary, it was simply a precaution.

The masked Sith Lord gestured towards one of his lieutenants, the first order of business was to destroy or capture the AA installations, make it possible for the rest of his troops to land… after that was done? They would finally talk about pebbles and the sort.

Somewhere in the distance, on the side of the Republic Carach could feel a dark presence though, and it worried him slightly. The Dark side was strong with this element within the Republic army and that made virtually no sense, since when did the Jedi and the Republic get over their supposed moral high ground and start using superior methods of fighting?

Hmm.

Curious.

A new face came about. A young woman of silver white hair, [member="Elizie Adasca"]. Right. They were getting more and more Jedi and other pro Republic forces.

But it was time for a speech!

Panning her gaze, she would look around. Finally she spotted a large set of cargo boxes and above that a large knobby branch. Ever so quickly, the Jedi went to climb it.

Finally, she stood a top of the branch, overlooking everyone she took a deep breath.

"Hey!! Everyone listen quick!" she would wave her hands, trying to get everyone's attention.

"Look... I know the odds seem overwhelming. And I share your concerns." she began, a gust of wind blowing her blonde hair away from her face. "Most of you don't know me. And that's fine.

I'm just a face in the crowd.

But I am a testimony! " Low murmurs would. " We were trained for diplomacy... for teaching. But before that, before the One Sith, before the Gulag Virus, the giants of eons past fought an empire much like we do here.

And you know what?

They held the line! Against the Sith Empire. Against the Yuuzhan Vong invasion. Against those who would strike the Galactic Republic down and bring it to heel.

But they held the line!

As did we!

Before the One Sith? There was the Clockwork Rebellion... and we held the line!" she would shout out. "Before the One Sith, there was the Dark Harvest, that plague that spanned the galaxy... and we held the line!"

She would continue one, her voice pouring out.

"Before that? There was the Sith Empire... and you know what?! WE. HELD. THE. LINE."!

"We drove the Sith Empire back, their throne broken, and we maintained our borders. Do not give into fear. That is what they want!

No! Instead, focus on what you can do. On what you are able to do. Here. On this day! On this very ground!

Here we stand. Here we will defend Kashyyyk much like generations past have done before. It will be hard. It will be grueling. But I am willing to fight along each and every one of you.

Trust in each other. Do not let the One Sith win a psychological war. Only you are able to control your fear. Make it your own."

She thought back to that white room. Where Nemene had tortured her. Where she had killed Oliver. And in that she remembered.

"I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear."

"Let us show the One Sith that they will not win that fight! That we will hold the line! Right here! Right now!"

"Nicely done, Master Rekali." Her aura of courage was almost palpable; it took the edge off. Shule closed his eyes -- he'd examined the oncoming army quite enough for the moment -- and let out a long breath. Tension bled out of him. He'd taken his lightsabre off his belt; when had that happened?

"I'm not...I'm not especially strong. I don't throw power around like I used to. I can keep myself alive, and I wish I could say stay close to me for safety, but when push comes to shove..." He opened his eyes again, blinking away the sight of his wife's death -- a distraction strong enough, real enough, to beat the Jal Shey gear -- and grimaced. "I'm not a man to rely on."

Soliael calmly watched as Kira climbed atop her makeshift podium, eying her but remaining silent as she made her speech. He watched as slowly the men around her gained a semblance of courage, their shaking stopped, the deathly look in their eyes faded, and a few of them actually stood up straight.

A smile touched his lips.

As Kira finished her speech there was a loud roar of agreement and enthusiasm, the Wookiee's rolled their throats and the men cheered slightly, each of them then immediately breaking up to actually go and fight. Soliael simply remained in place, smiling at Kira before walking up to her. Even now she stood barely taller than him, standing on that branch that had brought her so high.

It was a testament to how Tall Soliael actually was, especially in full armor.

He reached up and helped her down, his arms grasping her and placing her on the ground. “You did well.”

He decided not to comment any further on the fear he could still see in many of the eyes around him, of the terror that was instilled in them. Fear could be overcome by courage, by hope. Soliael simply hoped that it would be enough.

His lips turned to a frown as he noticed the apprentices beginning to gather. Unease settled in his stomach, unease that Kira would feel from the bond.

Vornskr gazed upon the burning underbrush around him, both of his hands placed on either side of his hip as his head swiveled from left to right, taking in all of the inferno. He nodded slowly, this was good. His soldiers faced little opposition down here in the underbrush, for the lesser beasts of the forest fled in fear of the spreading firestorm, and those that were more brave than the others were dispatched quickly. Already his soldiers were setting up makeshift stations at the bases of the mighty Wroshyr trees that rose several kilometers up into the sky. No ordinary force of soldiers could make such a long and difficult journey, but the Blackblades were far from any ordinary soldiers. They were the best one could say, the most elite paramilitary army the galaxy had ever seen in the modern age, and they had built a massive reputation as Mandalorian and Jedi butchers, and they would not let a couple gigantic trees dissuade them from the carnage promised to them high above.

As Vornskr looked on, his soldiers activated their boot spikes and began their climb armed with twin climbing axes that allowed them to dig into the hard bark of the Wroshyr trees. None of them knew fear, for that had been removed from them many moons prior, and their minds were solely set on their careful ascent. There were no heavy weapons or machines of war in Kaine's forces, only soldiers and the weapons they carried. The only things not going up the trees were the flamer squads and the Graug warriors who protected them. Their task was to clear out the forests with flame and steel for some other dastardly, and secret purpose that was not yet clear to anyone.

Vornskr nodded again, this was all very good.

Then a presence at his side drew his attention away from his soldier's. It was that of his chief servant, the Yuuzhan Vong named Dredge, who wore the corpse-armor of Darth Vulcanus, and was a vessel for a portion of the Graug Warlord's essence. The fact that he survived the entrance to the underbrush was a good omen, as Vornskr had need of him in the coming battle. "My soldiers ascend towards the southwest branch, I want you to take your forces and ascend towards the opposite branches. We will come at them from below, and we will drag them down to the burning depths." With that, Vornskr left Dredge to his devices and made his way to where his soldiers were ascending the trunk, and began to ascend himself. Armed with two climbing hooks, and the Force to strengthen his body and guide him, he began to climb the long climb...

Matte black specters soared through the dead vacuum of space, silent in their approach. The inbound Stealth X squadron was angling in on one of the One Sith's vessels from a different vector than the other Republic fighters. Leading the Stealth X squadron was Ryan Korr, headset pushed over hair already slick with sweat. Deaths cried out in the Force, a slowly rising chorus that would soon reach a crescendo. He would have to add his own bucket of souls to that chorus before this was through. The Jedi grit his teeth and pushed the throttle.

The Anti-Detection system on the Stealth Xs would prevent them from being seen by the carrier's sensors, while the anti-Force detection would prevent the Sith Lords undoubtedly present on the vessels from sensing them either.

"Krest. It's good to see you. It's a fair guess Sith are going to come from the water, as it's our least defended point. Take two thousand with you. Let us know if anything comes from the depths."

The Errant Master turned partway toward his Padawan. He cracked a slight smile at the arrival of young Armand. He was a good lad, albeit a bit idealistic, but what Padawan wasn't?

"Armand, you and I are going to lead the hordes. We'll bolster the republic force wherever it's needed. Ession will do its part."

Graxin clamped a hand on Armand's shoulder, squeezed, and turned back toward the Graug. They were legion. A sea of grays, blacks, and ambers filled the small field at the center of Kachirho. The Archlord folded his arms over his chest, and adjusted the volume of his external speakers with a click on the HUD.

"The Republic marched off to defend. The armies of Ession will be at its back. The heretics are here. Burn them. Put down their rebellion. Crush the Sith force. Show no mercy." He held out a hand, and crushed it into a fist. "Feed as you like. The Sith are not people. Exterminate them all."

The hordes roared their approval. The Archlord never let them feed. They were not allowed to eat other sentient beings, but as Graxin said, the Sith were not people. Only meat for the famished Horde.

"This will be bloody." Shlurk grumbled.

"I know, but it has to be. Armand...understand that we must always show mercy when we can. The Sith have made it impossible for us to do so. This is our only choice."

Explosions rocked the dropship as it hurtled through the atmosphere near the surface of Kashyyyk. Anti-aircraft fire was taking a toll upon the convoy of Dropships the Sith Pureblood found himself in, something that Midas resented not because of the danger itself but of the control that it robbed him of. It was one matter to engage in pitched battle with another, as with enough wit and skill one could ensure one's own survival. But this? A single lucky shell would rip into the cockpit of his vessel and send him and the entire squad of Sith troopers in it to a fiery demise, and there was absolutely nothing the Pureblood could do about it other then hope the Republican fools on the ground slacked on their firing practice.

Fortunately, (and perhaps unfortunately for his foes) Midas' shuttle hit the ground with a thud, the faceless, black armored Sith troopers streaming from it's sides and rapidly organizing into their respective platoons and companies. Midas himself was clad in the same armor as the soldiers, modified to fit his body type and decorated with a variety of sigils and Sithese runes. The hulking mass of red muscle and dark-sided energy ignited his lightsaber and rushed forward, immediately throwing himself into the thickest fighting.

After fighting a few minor skirmishes with shattered units of Wookies and Republican soldiers who failed to fall back and re-group effectively, Bloodlust unsated, Midas grudgingly fell back and merged into the main body of the One Sith enroute to secure the bridges.
