WAR ON THE SENATE
IDENTITY CRISIS vol. I
Dagon Kaze Dagon Kaze | Amun Amun

kwzlsmL.png

Corin was a touch slower. It rocked the Senate, that sudden boom, and as the frantic screams and scurries of civilians filled the air, he shielded his vision from the flash and failed to notice the sudden bolt of movement that came from his Jedi senior as soon as it came to be. In an instant, Kaze had left him and descended as if the heaviest of all stones towards the hunter beneath them. He leaned over onto the rail, his shocked features stared for a moment more than he cared to admit at the scene below before his own frame had been hoisted over it.

He lacked all the instincts that came from the countless battles. His had been few and far between, not with warriors of this calibre. The Padawan landed behind the two, as if his elder was a buffer between them, but not so much by design. He reached for his own lightsaber with considerably less finesse, a blue blade of his own igniting.

The moment Koda Fett Koda Fett fired, Geller drew like he'd done a thousand times before. The disguise dissipated, the featureless black helmet displayed no text now, no 'Hello Darkness' nor any other vaguely ominous message burst over it. It was a visage void of humanity, much like the man beneath sequestering his own. These people had lived varied lives, but for every Auteme Auteme who'd put their lives at stake once for the things they believed in, there were a dozen who'd never shed a drop of sweat, let alone blood for a cause. He told himself The Arbiter The Arbiter was one such person, though he lacked any evidence to prove it.

She moved on Fett, and he on her, readying the twin sidearms and squeezing the triggers. Magnetically accelerated slugs punched through the air towards the Senator with the practiced precession that came only from experience. A part of him damned him for breaking cover, he could've simply let Fett take the heat, whilst another encouraged him to take the one he was shooting at for himself, all whilst a final bit assured him he was doing just fine. His daughter was dying, never once did he consider mercy, he couldn't for her sake.

Cadmon reminded himself he'd slain far more innocent people for far more selfish reasons, remembering how they'd waded through the corpses of their fallen foes, the men of the Blackblades. This was nothing. A drop in the bucket, if that, and it was for his little girl.

He fired again, and again, and again.

Suddenly Faith was pulled backwards as the pod wobbled without someone at the control. She looked at Jax on she had seen this look before he was doing his job well one of his jobs. The pod drifted back to its resting place.

Before she could say anything Becca had a hand on her,
"We have to go" Faith sighed what the feth really? It was clear neither of them was going to let her do what she wanted and of course good reason.

"Ok" She nodded stepping off the pod, "Jax get everyone out please" She turned to head to the hallway, it was going to take time to get to the shuttle. It's not like it was right outside it was actually up one or two levels where her office was. She looked at Becca, "Let's go"

Before they could exit shots rang out from above them repeatedly but who were they firing at? The shots echoed through the halls of the Senate. Faith looked up she couldn't make out who was shooting, "Jax we need to stop them."

Into the hall Faith took a left rather than a right, the Senate Guards followed her, Becca began making all kinds of huffy noises, 'Faith..where are we going?" Faith was making the round down the hall.

"I have one friend missing, and another has just been shot at I don't feel like going to the ship. Alert the medical team to come to the Senate there maybe need of them."

Faith's emotions were everywhere but the forerunners were anger and fear. "Keep up gentleman" Auteme's pod was the other side of the hall it wouldn't take long to get there and...what? Do whatever she could, some people were not going to be happy with her. It was not her smartest move, unarmed with two guards she wasn't sure of and putting Becca...she stopped.

She turned to look at Becca, Becca had been with her the night another young girl was killed all for politics. The need to possess. She couldn't put her into a position that put her into danger like that, there was death and mayhem here today.

"Becca go to the shuttle back to the embassy and wait"

"Why?"

"Because I said so"

The two stared at one another. "no" Becca whispered.

Faith shook her head, no she wouldn't allow it. "
Ok...you're fired go to the embassy"

"WHAT!" Stunned.

Faith turned,
"One of you please escort Ms. Becca to the flight deck one level up, the other come with me" Faith was being foolish. She'd make it up to her later but right now she wanted her safe. "OH and when you get the embassy be sure to know where Alicio Organa Alicio Organa is"

Susanna Sorrows | Luca Caldogne Luca Caldogne

An eyebrow went up at the approach of an Alliance Marshal, then two at Caldogne's words.

"Now, now Luca, I am happy to answer any of Marshal Sorrows' questions. And I, for one, think it's a lovely name, but..." He paused grimacing slightly, "Are you feeling alright?"

His green eyes looked over the dark haired woman's pallid features and sunken stare.

"It's just, well I'm not as young as I once was and there's a pretty important shareholder meeting this week, so if you aren't feeling well I would be happy to do this over the holocomm."

At that moment, an explosion went off where Auteme had been giving her speech. Blaster fire started whipping all around. Marcus ducked low inside his pod.

"Strike that, let's do this another time," said Marcus to the woman over the screams, "What the hell is going on out there?!"

Job well done.

The Senator silenced and her fate remained to be seen from the wreckage of her pod, whether she survived or breathed her left. That was no concern for him, for he and his peers accomplished what they set out to do.

What was next for the Kyuzo now? Be a little bit more ambitious. The entire senate was in chaos, every corrupt politician and bureaucrat for themselves. Only the bold and compassionate would tend to the weak and not be reserved to their own survival. They were already this far, why not risk it a little bit more?

His bowcaster fired upon Senate Commandos, powerful bolts that ripped apart their standard armor and left them dead or incapacitated.

His own goals, unfortunately, would have to be on hold when a duo of Jedi suddenly appeared out of the midst of this chaos. Less valuable than a Politician, but beggars can’t be choosers.

His yellow, compound eyes glared at the duo before raising his bowcaster swiftly with one arm and firing upon them. He had tricks and gadgets to combat the Jedi, but he wouldn’t reveal his hand just yet. Test them to see how skilled they were. They appeared to be Master and Apprentice, all he had to do was weed out the weak one.

Xasha was about to ask Al more about his retirement cruise when alarms went off and the atmosphere just changed, there was nothing happening on this level yet but people felt more tense. Xashas instincts kicked in and she knew something was up, another attack perhaps. The old Senate guard stood up in front of her as two more guards approached the station to secure it.

"Hold up little Sasha, I'm going to go and check this out, it's probably all a fuss about nothing." The new guards were now stopping anyone else entering as Al walked away towards the main senatorial area. Xasha had managed to make it through security with Grassias Dala Grassias Dala . She looked at the other Senator. "I need to go see what is happening, I am trained for this stuff, I might be able to help." her body language had changed, she was now moving lighter on her toes, clearly looking more like a soldier. She dropped her large fur shoulder cover off with her mind blocking circlet. Being a natural telepath in a situation like this could keep her alive.

The monitors inside the senate showed a scene of chaos inside the chamber. Someone had attacked Auteme Auteme and was now firing on other Senators, "Fuck it! she cursed, this looked like an attack intended to root out the FAC, the camera panned in on The Arbiter The Arbiter taking fire.

She needed a gun and she needed one soon. "Oi! Guardsman! Give me your sidearm" he laughed "No can do ma'am, noone other than guard allowed to carry weapons in the Senate. Wouldn't be much use anyway, takes years of training to get good enough with these."

"I have eleven years of service in the Constancian military you patronising.... give me your karking gun! Or I'll tell your supervisor you have been fiddling tour time card!?!"

He looked suddenly taken aback, how could she know! She couldnt lnow could she? It was only a few extra weeks pay, he had been trying to think of the best time to fix it. "..what? no? that's ridicul ... fine, in light of the extenuating circumstances and on review of your advantageous military experience, I hearby authorised you open carry of one guard issued blaster pistol." he handed her the large caliber blaster pistol and she smiled, a quick glance between them was all that was needed that nothing else needed to be said.

Xasha ran ahead, to where she could feel the greatest turbulence of emotion. If she couldn't help fight of the attackers, she could support the other fleeing staffers.

if they're watching anyways
"I-"

She was caught between breaths. As soon as she started to speak she felt the shift, yet for whatever reason she felt stunned, confused. Who was that down there? And a few others... something was coming towards her.

The explosion rocked her back to her senses -- along with the pain from the shrapnel that struck her arms and thigh. The pod was sent careening, tilted from the blast. She raised a hand, beginning to weave- there. Blaster bolt. Her hand rose, but it wasn't strong enough. The threads she summoned were broken through. The bolt shot through her hand, right through to under her ribs.

She sucked in a short breath, stumbling back. This isn't right, she thought slowly. She could barely feel her body. There was a dull pain, somewhere- lower. What was going on?

She felt something behind her. The pod railing? She looked around, but couldn't see past the edges of the pod. Kirie was...

This isn't right.

Auteme's eyes rolled back, and she fell over the railing.

In one move, it was over; ended as soon as it started, the board cleared.

His merciless assault created a series of scattered frenzied and frantic flees, their footfalls combined into one thunderous movement and flooded into the halls as some even elected to remain and hide - fearful, even, to fall beneath the masses and be crushed into oblivion. There were worse fates, the so-called Mandalorian mused, his thoughts ran to the murdered Denko-Durren. If she was even as dead as she seemed, he later remarked to himself.

However, the time for internal musings had become cut short. A volley of blaster fire struck his armoured frame, the sound of the pinging metal as each bolt had been either absorbed by the beskar or ricocheted harmlessly into the distance rang out. He stumbled backwards from the sheer force, the continued barrage had allowed little chance for him to steady himself. Until he fell to a knee towards the edge, as if to stumble over the rail himself until his missile-firing arm reached out and grasped onto the bar. He returned his own hail of crimson bolts in rapid fire, but was ultimately saved the chance of a similar fate by the intervention of Cadmon.

"She's down," he managed to announce between breaths over their comms link, but the sin of greed itself burned a need into his stomach. Koda was tasked with the disruption of the Senate session alone, but another bounty altogether rest on the head of captured or killed Senators. Was she truly dead, he asked himself? Had she slithered off, away, or been ferried off by someone else to safety? He shook his helmeted head in dismissal, a groan filled with annoyance followed.

Fett propelled himself into the air with his rocket pack and rather than ascend high into the air, entered a hover that had seen him descend towards the floor of the chamber. His visor and scanners both worked in tandem to search for her fallen body as he touched down.

The Kyuzo bounty hunter dodged left the dropkick headed down to crush his head and reassessed his targets from the unarmed senators to the Jedi duo standing in his way. The assassin's bowcaster roared to life spewing heavy bolts that met Dagon's blade.

Sensing the Padawan's presence behind him, he freed one hand from his grip and tightened into a fist encapsulating the hunter with the Force aiming to ensnare his movement.

"His weapon -- now!!" he called out without sparing the younger Jedi a glance. It was a long road getting used to missing the chemistry -- the choreography -- with Jem where no verbal orders were needed. He could only hope the teenager understood his command.

It was that absence of connection that ensured Corin remained at a cautious distance, set to move in at an instant, albeit removed as to not stumble into whatever route the senior Jedi had elected to take in his bout with the Kyuzo. He lacked a master all his life, that uncertain sense of self once with others formed then and continued now, but an order was an order; a bark of a command, easier to follow than some subtle and unsaid remark in the midst of a life or death scenario. Either for himself, or the Hunter.

"On it!"

It was with a sudden shift forwards that Corin slashed for the bowcaster, a blue blur came from overhead in a bid to remove the barrel. Had it been all that Kaze wanted, or had he meant another move instead? It ate at the corner of his mind, the doubt that resided in himself, the sensation of a burn that frazzled his focus.

Jax rushed through the smoke heading straight towards Senator Auteme's destroyed Senate seat. Auteme may be a politician but she was also a Jedi and the Jedi Master expected her to carry herself like one. Despite Faith's concerns about Auteme's well being, Jax was sure that she would be alive. Jax leapt onto broken Senate seats trying to reach Auteme's location. As he hopped between platforms, Jax sensed a disturbance in the Force. He craned his head only to see a Bounty Hunter cladded in Mandalorian armor looking through the wreckage for Auteme.

"Hey!" Jax knelt down leapt towards the nearest platform holding his Lightsaber up. "I suggest you stop your searching there son! As you know I'm the sheriff around these parts!"

The Jedi Master gave a deep sigh allowing the Force to guide his actions. "Now if you're smart and I know that you are," Jax continued. "You would drop your weapons, surrender and we'll talk like gentleman."

Jax shook his head. "Please prove to me that there's a brain underneath that head of yours." Jax said.

Auteme's speech was winding down, and it was a good one too. So why couldn't Kirie shake the feeling that something was terribly wrong?

There were shouts, way back on the railings, and Kirie turned, frowning. A second later the first shot rang out. Kirie ducked down instinctively, and even as she did so more blaster shots struck nearby, whizzing past her head. Then the pod shook and Kirie felt a flash of heat and stabs of stinging pain as an explosion bloomed just below her place in the pod.

"Auteme!" She called out over the sudden cacophony. Kirie raised both hands in front of her, palms out, working on instinct more than anything. A delicate, shimmering wave of energy coalesced in front of them, blocking some of the incoming blaster fire.

She only held it for a moment before the pod lurched, seemingly fatally struck. Kirie stumbled and rolled, her protective barrier dissipating in an instant. She turned to grab Auteme, who was still inexplicably standing, weaving some defence with the Force. Kirie felt the pod shudder and almost threw her out. She saw a bolt strike Auteme, saw her stumble and fall backwards, out and over the side of the pod. Auteme was falling

"NO!"

And then Kirie was falling too, reaching out to grab Auteme but failing, herself tipping over the edge, pushing off the edge of the senate pod as it lost power and began to fall, still not fast enough to catch her. In the tiny moments of freefall Kirie saw Auteme just ahead of her and she stuck her arms out, reaching with every shred of desperate will she had, fighting the fact that she herself was now hurtling to oblivion.

With her hands out she clawed the air, reaching out with the Force and pulling the falling woman into her arms. In their tight embrace they tumbled, Kirie wrapping her limbs tightly against Auteme’s body, securing the woman in a tight embrace and desperately reaching out with the Force to slow their descent.

In her panicked state the manoeuvre was only partially successful, ensuring that their collision with the Senate floor was not instantaneously lethal, but not so lightly that it was harmless. They collided- Kirie on the outside, and the likely unconscious Auteme tightly held- with a force that was blindingingly violent. As Kirie uncurled, releasing Auteme, she knew that she had suffered a great injury, though in her dazed state lying on the Senate floor she could not say what.

Dimly, she was aware of the pod crashing beside them, she saw the shrapnel and debris, the column of fire and smoke rising. Beside her, she could feel Auteme’s form, no doubt as battered as Kirie herself. On the brink of consciousness, she took the woman’s hand. It seemed that their enemies had won. Surely they would both be dead soon.

Beneath the Mandalorian armour, the systems had come in no small amount. Either in the form of those that often came outfitted to the more standard and uniform suit of near-indestructable armour, and the tools that had seen Fett delve further into his life and craft as one that hunted others. His various vision modes, scanners, and other sense related sensors had allowed for him to hone in on their location. It was a faint indication on the lifeform scanner, but one that was there all the same. He waded between the fire and the smoke, the shattered and scattered metal of the fallen craft until the two had been there, motionless, save for the subtle shift in a hand that had taken the other.

His movements had been slow, as cautious as each one had seemed confident, but there was no move to mask the sound of his footfalls. Fett was no doubt able to be heard before he was seen, the clink of the armour, the kick of a broken off item, the sound it made as it skittered across the Senate floor. The Mandalorian had lifted the front of his booted foot off of the floor and allowed it to settle over the hands of the duo, his charric blaster lazily aimed over them as if to end it all and confirm his mark.

It made for an easier sum of credits to shoot the defenseless. It was business, he noted, and the ice in his veins seemed to be content with that.

Fett held onto his aim and stance, even as the voice of a Jedi called out. He tilted his helmeted head in some bout of confusion at the initial remark, as odd as it was, and some small fraction of humour swelled within him at the motion for a conversation. His own time with Jedi varied, either all the same in one moment or too different in the next. Lines became harder to discern amidst all the smoke these wars created.

"Gentlemen." He scoffed, a small hint of amusement shined. "Go on, then. Talk."

The Mandalorian had not so much as moved an inch.

"Huh," Jax thought staring at the knocked out Auteme and Kirie behind him and making sure that they were safe. "Didn't think he would actually talk, maybe there's hope after all."

"Who are you?" Jax said holding his Lightsaber close to him. "Not like a Mandalorian to talk rather than fight, It's respectable to say the least." He took a glance at the two ladies before sighing. "Well almost respectable," he said. "Why try to kill the senators?" he continued. "Who hired you all for this?"

It's not like he was going to answer but it was worth a shot.

It was an insult that struck worse than most wounds could ever deliver. His frame reared in a flinch, the sheer shock from the mere need to ask had startled Fett somewhat. His name was known, that much was true, and in recent times it had seemed as if it had fallen off the track in certain circles. From all corners, those that needed a task seen done often called on Fett. The Dark Lord himself ensured the Mandalorian remained on his payroll, as did the Hutt on the rise to control their former territories, and so it was with the tilt of his head that Fett breathed a most frustrated breath.

Irksome, to say the least.

"Koda Fett," he answered seconds afterwards; so far removed from a circle of Mandalorians, it became difficult to rationlise himself as one so much that refused to call himself one for some time now. "If I wanted them dead, then it'd be done. You too," his helmeted head nodded towards the Jedi then, "You're new to all this." His declaration of his own believed truth came off as a statement of fact more so than some notion of the Jedi.

"Have some advice for free: move on, or suffer the same fate as them."

His boot had shuffled over the two hands that rest on one another and onto the floor of the Senate chamber itself. The T-visor reflected the Jedi, as the charric blaster in his hand seemed to reflect the area around them as a result of the reflec coat - far from the abilities a Jedi's famed saber was able to inflict on whatever bolt it fired, the round had a bite able to knock out a Gundark and unable to be reflected. It made for a fine Jedi killer, and in his firm stance he readied a sudden motion that was bound to be needed.

Voice for the voiceless
As her volley of fire was released towards Koda Fett Koda Fett , her attention was suddenly ripped away in a new direction as her body suffered a barrage of blaster fire from another assailant ( Cadmon Geller Cadmon Geller ) that she had been completely unaware of. She let out an angry scream as she turned in the direction of the enemy fire, her frame jolting over and over again as blaster bolt after blaster bolt ripped through her. She stumbled backwards and tumbled over the edge of the pod, careening down into the pods below her with a violent crash.

An invisible hand ensnared him, limiting most of what he could move. Tricks of the Jedi, obviously. As the Jedi Knight held him with one hand, the other Jedi stepped forward as was ordered. The blue blade of his lightsaber swung in an arc to dismember his bowcaster, thus rendering it as nothing more than a hunk of metal.

Annoyed by the loss of it, the best tool in his arsenal to help complete his bounties.

But there was a moment to take advantage of. The Padawan was green, looking what to do next. Waiting for his next set of orders from his teacher? Could’ve done something more than what he just did, and now he would learn. His arms still had mobility and so he reached into his bandolier explosive powder and threw it into the floor between him and the two Jedi. A distraction to impede their focus. If that was successful and no longer entrapped, he would focus on the Padawan and engage in close quarters. A lightsaber did not scare him, it was like a sword. Useless when your opponent was right in your face.

His instincts cried out, the loudness of the demand had seemed to snatch his immediate focus. His strike had seen two hands on the blue blade, the nature of the attack since had it held low with himself undefended. But one swift motion was all that was needed, a slash across the midsection was no doubt able to end the Kyuzo in one. Corin had considered it, but that consideration took too much time, even if lasted less than a second.

In a flash, his senses were overwhelmed at the sudden detonation and his two feet stumbled backwards. The Kyuzo struck Corin across the face with a backhanded fist, and that short stumble had increased tenfold. It was a race no one ever wanted to battle face-to-face, and Corin instead took the full force of a smack that sent him off of his feet. The Force was a friend, a tool, one to enhance himself, but all those avenues remained unknown to him in the moment.

He winced and hissed as his face felt as if it was on fire.

Faith went down the hallway into the area that would lead to where Auteme Auteme would have entered her pod. She could hear voices filtering through the Senate. Behind her the Senate Guard moved with little grace he walked like he was loaded with bricks his rifle chest high.

Faith did not hesitate as she emerged from the darkness to look out and see Auteme pod, "my goodness" She could hear through communications that the guard carried that medical teams were on the way. She looked around she could see Jax Thio Jax Thio and she could see the mandalorian ( Koda Fett Koda Fett ) .. Jax would not be happy that she did not go to the ship.

Who was the young woman with Auteme she had to think....names names ah yes.." Kirie Kirie can you hear me?"

She glanced upwards again shouting in mando'a, "TION'JOR!???? (WHY?) " She doubted the answer was something she would be able to understand, all it took was the ability to pay a fee. Whether he had any feeling about it all would not matter, until later. She knew too well what the after could bring, she had seen Draco go through it.

Faith wanted to get down, "Kiri how bad is it?" She knew Kirie would not answer truthfully with the assassin still near the answer could entice him on further damage...

"Bold words Koda," Jax said in regard to the Bounty Hunter's statement. "But my duty is to protect these fine senators."

He could sense that this wasn't going to end well. "But I'm sure you already knew that."

Just then, Jax saw Faith shouting at Kirie. "FAITH!" Jax looked at the Queen in shock. "I told you to get out of here!"

Damn it! Why won't she listen?! Now things are just going to get even tougher now. Jax stared at Koda wondering what move he'll make.
