Public War Games On Christophsis

r66559_9_headband-holographic-tactical-sandbox1.jpg

The idea was simple. Gress was always a bit of a competitive type, and finding time to practice his craft of strategy was always a matter of baptism by fire. A skill honed not on a war table, but through blood and iron. But today, he posed a challenge. Low stakes, unless you valued your pride. A contest of skill in the back of an old factory. Holoboards lined the massive floor, and Gress awaited anyone who would take him up. Your battle group versus his. Winner gets a thousand credits, and of course, bragging rights.

In reality, the man simply wanted to test his new equipment. The Hellstompers were great, in theory, but he'd rather have proof before things got dicey. Before he lost men.

(OOC Disclaimer: This is a virtual warposting thread. So don't show up looking for any bounties or with your fleet. Battle groups will be scaled to equal size for the exercise for the sake of fairness, so don't expect to win your thousand UC for simply saying you have ten thousand tanks lol)

High Commander of the Lilaste Order
When the advertisement went acrossed his desk on Aurora station he knew it was the perfect opertunity to get Lilaste troops out of the training sims and away from Pirates and against real enemies. So of course he made sure to make an appearance. Though unsure if it was a virtual space or if real bodies were needed so he brought with him a single battalion of troops[576] and three divisions of tanks [6 heavy Walkers with 6 support walkers]

When his shuttle landed Laphisto stepped forwards into the area l, haven followed the steps on the advertisement to the letter and upon identifying the man he gave a small smile, his eyes flashing a teal blue as he peered into them through the force in his approach. The troops remaining on the ship he arrived on " greetings, I hope I'm in the right spot, this is the location for the war games is it not?" Laphisto raised a brow his head tilting to the side slightly as he tried to make his way over to the man without tripping over any obstacles.

An opertunity to test his own troops and machines in a 'real' war scenario was quite appealing to him after all what's all those years of training and perfecting machines and weapons of war if one couldn't put them to proper use?

"This'll be it." Gress nodded to the new arrival. "I got data chips you can customize with all your troops and vics, so get that prepped." He offered a datapad, "We're working on battalion strength at the moment. Anything larger is gonna need approval from everyone else."

The space seemed to be filled mostly by a massive holo-table in the center of the room, already configured to the open plains of Naboo, for ease of troop configuration. "I assume you got the deets? Or do I need to go over what the plan is for this thing?"

Laphisto looked the man over shaking his head softly " my memory isn't what is used to be, but from my understanding it's a simple board game play? I fear I may have missed understood s little, I had brought a battalion with me" he gave a small chuckle shaking his head some what before clearing his throat.

" I can upload the data chips with information for my men. Is it just infantry or can some support vehicles be used such as armored walkers?" He shot a small smile chuckling softly to himself before shaking his head " if not that is fine, usually the standard number of units in a battalion for the order is roughly five hundred and seventy six l, if that number is acceptable"

Gress D'ran Gress D'ran

"Infantry, walkers, whatever you want. Just no air support. This is a ground battle, not some fly boy's gun run." He nodded. "If you want, your boys can get in on the game. I got several tables around, and it'll be good for 'em to get some tactical know-how." He reasoned, gesturing to other tables. "For now though, I'd like to introduce you to my team."

Gress clicked a button on his data pad, causing a battalion of GADF Walkers and Tanks to spawn onto the open field of Naboo. "Rules are simple. Neither side knows the capabilities of the other, but we both start out in open ground. Any cover you get, you make. Aaaaand...." He clicked a few more buttons, causing a standard platoon of GADF soldiers to spawn aside the walker battalion.

On the field, Laphisto Laphisto could count 2 siege walkers, 6 support walkers, 10 tanks, and 4 rear speeders far in the back, as well as an equal amount of infantry on the field beneath the massive behemoths. Behind all of them, a city sat, defended by the GADF forces.

"The objective is to break through your enemy's line, and destroy the objective behind them. You're free to customize what your objective is, as well as your assault force. No additional forces may be summoned until the battle is over. Understood?" His voice was gruff, but to the point. Laphisto could tell he was a walker commander at heart. "We can adjust the parameters next round if you want."

High Commander of the Lilaste Order
Laphisto watched the holographic display as the walkers came into view his hand coming up to chin with a light frown, while he was able to perceive things through the force in real time, that only helped him if what he was looking at were real living creatures and those not dead to the force. turning to one of the men who had accompanied him he whispered back and forth for a moment, gathering the information from the soldier that was with him. and with thier help he began to upload the standard Armor division that would be seen in the Lilaste order.

tapping away at the holo computer twelve AT-AE walkers flickered up onto the display with six AT-MSW walkers [three on either side.] and four AT-SW walkers spaced between the main forces. while he only had twelve walkers in his arsenal on his ship he decided to increase the amount of walkers he had with him to match the arsenal of his opponent even if a few of the walkers in his arsenal were prototypes for the time being, it would be a good test for them. the one thing that concerned him were the speeders and tanks as well as the two large siege walkers.

"sounds pretty straightforward, Ihave calculated the same amount of walkers for my side as you have. and" he presses a few more buttons and generates an equal amount of Lilaste soldiers. all of which wearing LO-56A MKII armor devised into squads of Nine in their Standard squadron composition. set behind the walkers.

"I think I'm all set then that is if my composition is up to your code and standards for this war games?" Laphisto raised a brow his head tilting to the side as he looked over the game board before them. he already had ideas set and prepped for making cover for his troopers

Gress D'ran Gress D'ran

"Yep." Gress nodded. "Alright, one last thing..." He pressed a few buttons, the battlefield expanding between the two's battalions. "Setting it so that, when we start, neither of us can hit each other with direct fire at first. You'll need to close the gap if you wanna start engaging with yer big guns."

And with that, Gress was set. The battle had started.

And almost immediately, Gress used his own rules to his favor. He couldn't engage with direct fire, but he wouldn't need to. 6 back mounted mortars on the Thundercats started opening up, firing in arcs over the the field and into the enemy formation. The aim was poor, but it didn't matter. This wasn't a matter of doing accurate damage. It was a matter of suppression. Heavy HE shells rained down, every third shell being a Null Round, spreading smoke across Laphisto Laphisto 's formation, and dampening his offense in the process. Gress knew his strategy. Suppress and overwhelm, then overrun.

The Wildcats moved up with haste, trying to close the distance as the twin Sphinx slowly lumbered forward. The ten tanks pushed forward in a spearhead, the battalion of GADF soldiers pushing in behind them in squads of 10.

High Commander of the Lilaste Order
Laphisto watched as teh battle began, his eyes darting over the entirety of the field. he watched when the rounds first thundered from the walkers in the back. He recognized the mortar strike and immediately got to work, pushing on the buttons of his keypad. The twelve walkers lowered their ramps, and infantry began to pull into the walkers. Holding and protecting 360 of the 576 troops. The remaining two hundred troops gathered under the walkers to remain safe from the barrage.

Taking notice of the Null rounds, Laphisto threw out a virtual order to switch to Slug rounds for the infantry and walkers, taking advantage of the smoke to keep blaster rounds away from his troops. Clicking on the board, Laphisto moved to spread his units out, keeping a 60-80 meter space between them. Seeing the advancing tanks, laphisto kept his units in formation, directing the E.M.D.C Cannons [APCBC rounds] on the AT-AE walkers and the LO-AVAC1 Cannons of the AT-MSW walkers get ready to open fire and destroy the approaching Tanks. Once they came into range, the Mass Driver Cannons would begin opening fire, lobbing the shells.

Reaching up, Laphisto gripped his chin in thought. His eyes drifted to the Large Sphinx walkers. He had confidence in the defensive capabilities of his main force against the rest of the GADF tech, but those walkers were the most concerning. He was already well on the way to figuring out how to take down the walkers, but everything needed to line up for him to pull it off.

Gress D'ran Gress D'ran

The first tank to come into range was hit right in the left track by a shell from the AT-AE walker, but despite being detracked, it seemed to just keep moving. Opening fire with it's twin beam cannons, it aimed right for the cannon that had hit it.

The same happened with the other tanks, each splitting up with groups of two to provide directed fire as they maneuvered around the fire from enemy walkers. One was shredded by the LO-AVAC cannons, but the moment that happened it's squad burst out from behind, firing off HEAT rockets from their Sabertooth, while using the downed tank as a firing position to set up their Claws with a hail of heavy blaster bolts, designed originally to take down mandos. The tanks followed suite, opening up each with four sets of grenade launchers each, firing at the men taking cover under the walkers, as well as their heavy blaster cannons.

Elsewhere, the Thundercats slowly moved up alongside the Sphinxes, starting to open fire on Laphisto Laphisto 's formation, first with the flak cannon to blind the driver's of the AT-TE walkers, then following up with focused fire from the heavy beam cannon, the walkers picking three targets each to pair up on, all while continuing fire with their mortars.

The Sphnixes slowly lurched forward, still out of range with it's turbo lasers.

That of course, didn't stop it from firing it's ion cannon, aiming right for the center of the formation. Gress figured he wouldn't need to get a direct hit. That much energy from an ion blast would disable several walkers at once.

High Commander of the Lilaste Order
Laphistos's blinded eyes danced over the battlefield, the soldier beside him verbally explaining. The shape and blobs of the field become more understandable under their guidance. Clicking at the computer before him, laphisto began to give the Virtual orders to the armored team.

as the first tank goes down and the squadron of infantry pours out, they would be met with heavy slug rounds from the twin-mounted forward-facing LO-35R rotary cannons and the double LO-27R machinegun mounts on either side of the tanks. Upon having a missile lock, the walker would eject four flairs. Two forwards and two up.

With the tank firing the beam weapons against the tank gun mount, the deflector shields rippled against the energy, which caused the main cannon to focus fire on the attacking tank, aiming to swat the bug that had begun targeting it.

The infantry that was fired upon by the crew of the Tank got struck a few times, their Seigurium plating taking the beating though being worn off in some places depending on how long the infantry survived the LO-35's

The armored position stopped, the walkers remaining stationary and even tilting to the side, providing a sloped angle to cover the infantry once they came under fire. With the six AT-MSW walkers angling themselves, one facing the front of the formation, one facing away, and the other facing behind them, giving a full range of fire for the encircling tanks as they passed by their line of sight, only turning to face the enemy to follow the last tank.

The main cannons fired, aiming to strike the hull, with the LO-AVAC cannon [chambered in API] firing rapidly in short bursts. With luck, they would strike the wide profile of the tanks as they came around the formation. If the Tanks managed to find themselves in the rear of the twelve AT-AE walkers, the AT-MSW would be turned to face them alongside the rear-mounted defenses ( LO-14C[2], LO-35R [2] and LO-27R[1] )

When the walkers began coming under a focused attack with flak bursting in front to blind the drivers, causing those affected to rely on sensors, though the moment the Beam cannon struck, the shields immediately began to ripple, against one they might have recharged faster than it took for the weapon to fire again, but with three targeting one walker at a time? That was a different story. The walkers being targeted found their shields quickly drained, and the weapons struck the Seigurium outer composite armor and, in some places, the Drayl Kayater armor.

Thinking quickly, Laphisto imputed a command for the affected walkers to throw out Chaff and launch smoke, hoping to disrupt the enemy targeting and allow the affected walkers shields to recharge and any damage to be assessed. However, once the Ion blast from the Sphinx collided with the center of the formation, all shields went down, though the walkers remained online due to the combination of the Seigurium, Fyrirdögun, and Dral kayatr metals' resistance to ion-based weapons.

With the Tanks no longer a Priority for the AT-AE walkers, and once they began to make their pass, Laphisto had two walkers begin arching their EMDC cannons, firing a few shots in an attempt to try and lob a few shells forward to both test the range of the cannons waiting for the moment the sphinx walkers got in range, and once that was achieved all the walkers would begin aiming and firing at the designated range.

While the main formation still held, the four AT-SW walkers sped forward, increasing their advance, two breaking left and two more breaking right. Once in range, they began to open fire on the Thundercat walkers to try and relieve pressure off the affected walkers, launching their missile tubes only if they saw the shields drop. Using their higher speed, they stuck to hit-and-run tactics, striking at the walkers and pulling away if they came under fire. All while doing their best to remain out of firing range of the Sphinx walkers themselves

[confirmed Damage 25 Infantry dead. 7 Wounded. All AT-AE walkers' shields are down, and two have armor damaged. ]

The tanks seemed to shrug off direct hits from the mass driver cannons, the oddly shaped turrets bouncing shells. now surrounding the formation, the twin beam turrets focused fire on the AT-TE's LO-AVAC's, which once again ripped into another one of the tanks. The squad that followed behind popped out from behind the tank, firing off another Sabertooth rocket at the walker that had hit it. Now that the enemy shields were down, the tanks and infantry would try and exploit it. The tanks continued to pepper the walkers with grenades, aiming not to damage them, but rather aiming at any gunner sights and sensors they could hit. The other tanks, rather than press the surrounding advantage, seemed to break off, spitting off and circling back around, using smoke mortar shells from the Thundercats as cover to break away with their infantry, while keeping fire from the grenade launchers.

Elsewhere, the squad that had been pinned down stayed low behind the tank that they had used for cover, forcing it them to take potshots. The Rocketeer poked out, taking a slug to the shoulder for his troubles as he fired another Sabertooth rocket at the lead AT-TE. While the men couldn't move, one slipped back into the hull of the destroyed Wildcat, setting to repair it, while another get inside and started up what systems were still operable. The chain laser turret on top was still functional, so he had it train on AT-SW that pushed forward.

The Thundercats, now taking fire from the AT-SWs, shifted their focus from the AT-TE's to focus fire on the faster walkers. Their ability to turn their cabin allowed them to quickly shift targets, two of each focusing their beam cannons on the walkers. Blaster cannon fire was met with practically no immediate effect as it hit both Impervium and Vardium Steel plating, and the Thundercats responded in turn by blinding the AT-SW's with flak. Rockets also seemed to be shrugged off, though it definitely showed the scorch mark.

The lobbed shells to the Sphinx on the other hand met shielding that wrapped around the whole walker, as the ball turrets lit up, firing on the AT-SWs that plagued it's comrades. Now in range, the star ship sized turbo lasers on the twin Sphinx's lit up, letting out a thunderous volley onto the formation in front of it, aiming mostly for the now shieldless AT-TE's. This was followed by the repeated fire of smaller turbo lasers on the sides of each Sphinx, eight cannons opening fire on the formation in front of it. Soon after, 4 more turrets from the view ports on the sides of the Sphinx opened fire from an internal platoon of GADF marines, aiming at the smaller walkers.

Laphisto Laphisto

High Commander of the Lilaste Order
Laphisto watched as the tanks seemed unaffected by the EMDC cannon shells, switching target Priority from the tanks to the Sphinx walkers, six of the AT-TE walkers splitting to the right. With the other six splittings left, one walker from each group began to fire shells into the ground, creating crators that would be used to advance infantry. The leading battle group creates more distance between each other and is now being spaced 100-150 meters apart.

The AT-MSW walkers switched from targeting individual tanks to setting up and focusing fire, each group shelling the lead tank aiming instead of center mass at the exposed treads, the Extreme fire rate of the LO-AVAC cannons ripping through the air like a beam weapon, but instead of a single concentrated beam of heated plasma, it would be a continuous stream of 50MM shells, all loaded with API shells designed to pierce armor and then explode sending flames scattering on contact. fire from the LO-14C and LO-35R rotary guns also continued to fire at the tanks as they passed in front and behind the heavily armed walkers.

With the Grenades aimed at the walker's sensors, Chaff was launched in the air, trying to throw targeting systems off the walkers. Several smoke canisters were lobed forward in front and around the walkers to blind and provide cover from targeting systems. The AT-TE and AT-MSW walkers relied on their advanced targeting systems tracking both movement, thermal, infrared, and Sysmic signatures the tanks might have been giving off, relaying to the entire formation the moment data was fed into one walker. The communications between the formation pricing together highly accurate information that helped gunners find their marks.

The infantry - now not too much of a focus for the enemy tanks- began loading up their rockets, shouldering LO-RPG20 rocket launchers and firing on them as they came into view. Eight soldiers also broke off, using the walkers for cover and pressing against the downed tank in the front of the formation, which was still being fired upon by the mounted LO-27Rs as the LO-35s of nearby walkers, keeping the units pinned, with the occasional EMDC shell chambered in either HEAT, APCBC, or HEASH being lobed to try and destroy the vehicle.

With the Null smoke no longer in play, the Walkers began to spread out further, creating a 300-400 meter distance from one another in order to avoid AOE damage. And that was quickly shown when the heavy turbo lasers from the Sphinx walkers blasted into the side of two of the AT-AE walkers, the sheer force of the laser caving the side of the walker, which inevitably set off the live rounds housed for the EMDC cannon. Sending the walker bursting into flames in a large explosion, the shrapnel threw itself across the battlefield and killed several infantry hiding under other walkers. With this new development, the AT-AE walkers opened thier ramps, releasing all of the infantry from cover and letting them rush forward ahead of the walkers. The Missle soldiers making sure to fire rounds at any of the Tanks that got to close, the AT-MSW walkers also trying to act as a barrier to prevent infantry from being crushed. The walkers launched smoke shells forward to act as cover for the infantry and to prevent accurate target lock for the capital-sized turbolasers of the Sphinx walkers.

The AT-SW walkers quickly pulled off target when they began to draw fire from the Sphinx's, the flak doing little to blind them so long as their sensors were more than optimal. However, a lucky shot from two Thundercats and oncoming fire from the siege walkers caused significant damage to one of the AT-SWs on the left side. The shields dropped faster than the mech could pull out, damaging its armor plating. Laphisto managed the consol and pulled the AT-SW walkers away from the siege weapons and the Thundercats, pulling them to the edge of the fire zone and leaving them there for now, allowing shields to recharge and armor to self-repair.

The Tanks, covered by smoke, seemed to deploy chaff as well, while using their heavy sensors to see through the smoke, zeroing in on the rotary cannons firing on them. With the less focused fire, the rounds mostly seemed to ricochet off the hulls, though a few lucky shots did manage to damage two of the tanks, disabling one of it's grenade launchers. The Chaff fired from the enemy walkers only seemed to confuse the AI systems, and the tankers were quick to autocorrect, pinpoint targetting the LO-AVAC cannons with twin beam lasers, in an attempt to melt the cannons and disable the enemy's main offensive weapon, while keeping the encirclement of the enemy in tact. The grenade launchers kept up their barrage, now switching to a general barrage, some of the grenades timed to airburst in front of the enemy as a way to keep the sensors off target.

The moment the AT-TEs paused to let out their troopers, the Thundercats responded in turn. Opening back up with HE mortar shells, the distance between the enemy walkers once again became a shelling zone of targeted mortar fire, aiming mostly for the rocket troopers and clumps of enemy formations. Meanwhile the Thundercats pushed forward, now picking two AT-TE's to focus on and triple up their heavy beam cannon fire on. Rocket Pods on top of the walkers also began to open up, reequipped now with Anti-armor rockets that locked onto the AT-MSW walkers. The internal autoloaders allowing the walker commanders to re-equip their stores from inside the cabin.

The infantry stuck in the downed tank took their chance, ripping open at the approaching infantry with anti-material Claw bolts, as well as the semi-functional tank's chain laser and grenade launchers, sending heavy laser fire and HE grenades raining on the enemy. With the Thundercats closing the distance, an airspeeder rushed forward, allowing the pinned troops to keep fire on the approaching enemy while retreating into the armored transport. One of the airspeeder turrets opened up with a river of particle bolts, while the forward heavy laser cannon opened up with harder hitting bolts that rained on the approaching troops. Finally, just as the last trooper climbed out of the tank, an EMDC shell caused the tank to erupt with plasma.

The Sphinx's once more opened up. While the escaping AT-SWs could definitely escape the Boars that were attacking them, they couldn't escape the side mounted turbolasers, smaller than the frontal capital ship ones, but still large enough to fire over the range of the escaping walkers, and hit them with enough force to hopefully put them down. While only six bolts could be fired at a time on each side, that didn't stop three walkers from being targeted at a time. Once more, an ion bolt fired from the rear Sphinx, exposing it's armor as it's shield dropped temporarily, but aimed at the AT-MSWs that were acting as a forward shield, hoping to disable them with a massive ion bolt once the Thundercat's rockets made impact. The other Sphinx picked one of the AT-TEs that wasn't being targeted by the Thundercats with another volley of Capital level Turbolasers.

Finally, out of the fray, the other set of pinned troopers from the down tank in the rear opened fire, taking shots at the infantry that clambered out of the walkers with Claw bolts and a Sabertooth rockets. Even if it didn't do much, it would draw fire.

Laphisto Laphisto

High Commander of the Lilaste Order
Laphisto frowned lightly at the current situation on the battlefield, a small chuckle rolling from his throat. he was a bit rusty. Then again, anyone would be if they were frozen in carbonite for several thousand years. The galaxy's technology had changed since he had last done battle, so he needed to change his tactics and strategies. His first step, however, would be the hardest. He needed to regain control over the battlefield.

When he saw the Sphinx walkers begin targeting the AT-SW walkers, he quickly went into action of a full retreat for the units. The shields dropped on two of the four walkers, and then one went up in flames, which had already taken significant damage in the initial attack. With a small hiss of frustration, laphisto frowned—an unfortunate loss. Pulling the walkers back, he directed them to fire at the speeder that had rushed into the scene. The vehicle was most likely trapped and caught in a crossfire while they were on their way to regroup with the main battle force.

As the infantry from the rear began to fire on the unloading Lilaste troops, they would be met with heavy fire from both infantry and LO-27R rapid machine gun fire from the rear of the AT-AE walkers, either killing or keeping them effectively pinned down. Meanwhile, as the infantry rushed the frontal tank they would rush for cover as the speeder entered the equation, four being struck and killed, their already damaged armor giving away to the heavy fire from the chain laser and the speeder's weaponry. the chaff and constant smoke barrage left troop movement concealed. With the constant barrage of artillery fire, the troops spread out, keeping 30-60 meters away from one another to prevent mass cas on a lucky shell strike or the unfortunate tank trying to run them over.

With six walkers on the left side of the field spaced 200 meters apart and the remaining four on the right, they would throw chaff into the air in large quantities, smashing into oncoming shells and exploding them prematurely. Smoke filled the field and blinded sensors to the Lilaste infantry as they moved forward. Rushing into the creators created for cover, the heavy gunners and rocket troops from each squadron -54 rocket troops left. - continued to fire streams of missiles at the tanks, aiming for treads to disable the tanks as they rushed around the battlefield; the LO-34R and LO-14C cannons in the front and rear of the AT-AE walkers continued to fire upon the tanks as they drove in range the independent gunner per weapon meant that they had their own individual reaction time most aiming center mass or at the tanks beam weapons.

changing his tactics some more, Laphisto re-directed the AT-MSW. Walkers push them forward and aim for them to focus fire on the Thundercats - keeping a distance of 150 meters apart. With the ION blast coming in, it struck the leftmost walker, disabling its shield, but the Dral kayatr and Seigurium armor protected the walker from shutting down. The walkers pressed forwards firing both LO-AVAC cannons and EMDC rounds into the approaching walkers, aiming for the missile pods and cock pit region, hoping to blind/ disorient the drivers or get a lucky shot and ammo rack the missile pods. The LO-AVAC cannons unloaded a constant stream of HEAT and API rounds into the Thundercats.

However, as the walkers were no longer focused on the tanks, with the walkers moving in one direction- down the center of the formation charging the Thundercats and sphinx walkers directly- the tanks would need to change focus as they passed. Another would have to take up the target, or they would have to turn around, leaving them a vulnerable target. The barrel of the walker had lost its shields, and its LO-AVAC cannon began to glow red hot under the constant stress of firing and being targeted. Which inevitably leads to a cease-fire in one walker, the barrel being warped and unusable without the risk of a misfire.

The AT-AE walkers continued to shell the Sphinx walkers with their EMDC cannons, firing a mixture of HEAT, APCBC, and APDS shells. Once the rear walker fired the ION blast and lowered its shields, laphisto quickly input a change in target, the cannons quickly shifting to begin firing at the rear walker, pummeling shells into the currently unshielded walkers. Once that capital-grade laser fire targets another walker, Laphisto could only hope the armor held. The turbo fire smashed near one of the walkers and sent dirt and debris falling on top of it, damaging the middle leg and slowing the walker down as it began to limp.

With the speeder now under fire by the retreating walkers, the speeder went into evasive maneuvers, swiftly rising into the air to avoid the cannon fire that pinged off it's sides. The underside laser cannon spun around, firing several shots at the enemy AT-SWs, before the speeder zoomed towards the back of the friendly formation, hoping to get away without much worry.

The tanks, now under fire from rocket, slug and blaster fire, slowly pushed in, closing the circle. Heavy beam cannons focused now on shieldless walkers, while grenade launchers shifted to pinned down infantry. The tanks in the rear seemed to target rocket troopers specifically, the 30-06 slugs pinging incessantly off the impervium and reinforced durasteel, while the heavy blaster bolts found nothing but slanted armor that seemed to bounce off. The rockets that hit seemed to find more success, but the redundant tracks made it so that forward movement of the tanks were unimpeded. The Wildcats' heavy blaster cannons opened up on the tanks on the left and right of the formation, combining with the unending HEAT mortar strikes for more precise infantry strikes, focusing on individual troops rather than groups, specifically any form of identifiable leadership, or the rocket troops that scourged the tanks.

The fire on the Thundercats seemed to only meet heavy shields that either deflected or absorbed the incoming fire, missiles firing off now to the unshielded AT-MSW, 12 HEAT rockets barraging the walker. The Thundercats's heavy beam cannons focused fire on the AT-TEs', three of the massive beams aiming right for the now limping walker's main hull, while the other three focused triple fire on another, aiming at the connection point of the AT-TE's mass driver cannon to the walker itself. Best to file the teeth of that one. HEAT Mortars never stopped firing, aiming for any groups they could find, and continuing to aim for rocket troops, as they would require assistant gunners as well. Even catching two or three would be a success. The Flak cannons opened up, aiming slightly above the ground level of the enemy. With the infantry now out in the open, even spread apart, they'd now be peppered with exploding shrapnel just above their heads. The walkers slowly lurched forward, closing the noose that the tanks formed around the enemy formation.

The pinned infantry, just like the tank crew before, crawled into their disabled vehicle and got to work fixing up what they could. Soon after, the occasional pot shot from the troops was joined by heavy blaster cannon fire from the main cannons, as well as a single beam turret still functional, aiming for the back of the limping walker.

The rear Sphinx could feel the EMDC shells slam into the front of the vehicle, Gress frowning slightly as he saw the ION cannon now damaged, and unable to fire. He quickly put the shields back up on it, focusing on the turbo lasers. The two side cannons focused now on the two unshielded AT-SWs that were fleeing, while both the front and rear walker swung their capital sized cannons around, firing on the other AT-MSWs' that weren't already being targeted. With their shields still up, the capital ship level fire would still rock their shit, and hopefully force a breakthrough.

Laphisto Laphisto

High Commander of the Lilaste Order
In the digital command center, Laphisto's presence was both commanding and focused, a silent force against the storm of war raging on the holographic display before him. His fingers moved with calculated urgency over the console, orchestrating a counter-offensive that could turn the tide of battle.

Laphisto first set his sights on the formidable Thundercats, key aggressors in the enemy's assault. With a flurry of commands, he directed his AT-MSW walkers to lock onto the heavy machines. The screen flickered as targeting systems aligned, zeroing in on the Thundercats' missile pods and sensory arrays. It was a strategic move aimed to cripple the enemy's heavy hitters and diminish their battlefield dominance. As the walkers advanced, their LO-AVAC cannons roared to life, unleashing a devastating barrage. Then, as quickly as they had advanced, they repositioned, evading the enemy's attempts to retaliate — a dance of destruction executed with military precision.

The encircling tanks were next in Laphisto's tactical crosshairs. He pinpointed their vulnerabilities and commanded his rocket troops to launch a fierce missile assault. The hologram displayed a wave of rockets soaring across the battlefield, each one a bearer of chaos and destruction for the enemy ranks. As the tanks reeled from the onslaught, Laphisto's infantry moved in. They were a swarm of coordinated fury, following up with a relentless spray of blaster fire, targeting any weak points exposed by the rockets. hoping to faulter the once unyielding formations

The Sphinx walkers loomed large on the battlefield, their formidable presence a challenge that Laphisto was ready to meet. He coordinated a barrage of EMDC shells from his AT-AE walkers, each shell calculated to exploit any vulnerability in the Sphinx's defenses. The artillery fire was a symphony of destruction, each note striking closer to undermining the enemy's might. Meanwhile, a diversionary force of infantry armed with rockets moved stealthily to engage the Sphinxes from a different angle, adding a layer of complexity to the assault and dividing the enemy's attention.

Throughout the silent storm of commands, Laphisto's resolve was unyielding. Each keystroke was a deliberate act of war, a move in the grand strategy to claim victory from the clutches of defeat. The holographic display responded to his will, a testament to the silent commands of a master tactician, orchestrating a dance of war that could very well dictate the outcome of this digital conflict.

There it was. The dying gasp of a pinned animal. Thrashing not out of advantage, but out of desperation.

The LO-AVAC slugs hit, and then disabled the shields after a second or two of the Thundercats, but found Seigruiam and Impervium Armor that stopped the slugs dead. Sensors were hidden under flaps of armor, while the missile pods definitely took a hit. No matter, they still had their heavy beam cannons. He made a note to ask for an upgrade to those, they should be more effective...

The Thundercats swung around, tracking the repositioning AT-MSWs with quick efficiency, keeping their beam cannons on target. Their shields couldn't hold up with the continuous fire, but it wouldn't matter. The heavy armor would hold...he hoped. Just keep up the fire, aiming for the AT-MSWs cabins.

As soon as the infantry moved in, the mortars from the Thundercats opened back up, while the Wildcat heavy blaster cannons and chain lasers opened up, firing on not just the infantry, but the incoming missiles. Rocket Troops would be met with a coordinated symphony of destruction, HE shells raining from above while particle bolts open up on them from every direction. The tanks coordinated with the Thundercats, aiming their heavy beam cannons at the AT-MSWs as well, hoping to finally knock those out of the fight.

The Sphinx shields held, the massive turbolasers returning fire with a four blast barrage of hellfire and plasma that would normally destroy entire city blocks. Now, it was aimed at the AT-TEs that fired upon the massive hulks. He needed to close the trap. Finish this fight...
