DESCRIPTION
The TT-48 was an armored airspeeder designed by SoroSuub engineers for the Alliance military. Heavily armed and armored it was a common sight during the early days of the Alliance on military bases such as their base on Sullust. With the ability to be dropped from low orbit they could rapidly insert small squads behind enemy lines. They were eventually eclipsed by the usefulness of the U-Wing, as that ship did the same job and more and was taken out of service. However, after the fall of the Alliance, starships became much more valuable and so the TT-48 was brought back into military circulation as a cheap, more disposable, alternative to the U-Wing and was often deployed alongside the transport ship. Its smaller size was also a factor in bringing the transport back into service as it was small enough to not be picked up by large capital ship sensors, especially if they were looking for starships and fighters.
