with the need for a Cannon for emplacements and weapons for the new starfighters/ Vehicles that were rolling off the line, the R&D team in Aurora Station decided to save production time and costs to make a weapon system that can be easily fitted into multiple roles and uses. and in turn, they created the LO-14C Blaster Cannon. its design was to have a singular weapon to fit many roles instead of building and designing several weapons. the Mountable design allowed for it to easily slide into and onto designated holders and slots, so if a starfighter was broken but the weapon remained intact the weapon could be pulled from the slot hooked up to a new vehicle or hooked up to a frame and used by infantry
