  12. Bipod: the use of a bipod lets the user set the weapon up on cover to help reduce recoil
  13. Repair: Thanks to Laminanium, the Seigurium internals are able to repair itself. in the case of damage. external repairs are also done in the same way thanks to its Fyrirdögun making

WEAKNESSES

  1. Intense Recoil: The weapon's extremely high rate of fire and powerful slugs generate severe recoil, which can be challenging to manage without the A.A.S.H system,
  2. Rapid Ammunition Consumption: The LO-27R's extreme rate of fire can exhaust ammunition rapidly, necessitating frequent reloads that enemies could exploit,
  3. Operational Complexity: Due to its recoil and ammunition consumption rates, the weapon requires skill and training to operate efficiently, especially when not paired with the A.A.S.H system.
  4. Noise Output: The LO-27R's extreme fire and energy discharge rate can produce significant noise, potentially revealing the operator's position to enemies.
  5. Weight: Despite its many advantages, the LO-27R remains a heavy weapon, potentially affecting the operator's mobility and endurance in prolonged engagements.
  6. Limited Close-Combat Efficacy: The LO-27R may be less effective in close-quarter combat scenarios due to its size and design.
  7. Resource Intensive Maintenance: Requires specific tools and equipment for maintenance, making field repairs potentially challenging.
  8. Limited Customization: The LO-27R has minimal modularity, limiting the ability for soldiers to customize the weapon to fit individual preferences or specific combat scenarios.
  9. Independent Ammo sources: the user will need to carry individual ammo magazines on their person, leaving many to choose either slug or Tibana depending on the mission and personal preference.
  10. Extreme Recoil: without using an A.A.S.H. system, the use of slugs paired with the fire rate makes it nearly impossible to use while standing
  11. Position Required: This weapon is better suited as a Personal MG nest or set up on its bipod if carried solo
  12. Luck of Defence: Like everything, this metal has its weaknesses. The metal does not protect against the Force (Mechu-deru) and provides minimal protection against, among other things, voice-based attacks and electrical attacks. Corrosive effects and radiation can also damage it.

DESCRIPTION
The LO-26R's widespread adoption prompted feedback from the infantry about improving its manageability without the A.A.S.H system. In response, Aurora Station's R&D team redesigned the weapon, replacing the Dral kayatr with a Fyrirdögun frame and Seigurium internal components.

The lighter frame improved infantry handling, especially with the mass centering around the firing chamber, offering more flexibility without the A.A.S.H system. Adopting Seigurium for internal components ensured a remarkable rate of fire without the risk of overheating. Chambered in Tibana Gas, the weapon achieves 1,500 rounds a minute—roughly 25 rounds per second—a rate consistent even with slug rounds despite the limited 400-round capacity.

The LO-27R is a formidable force multiplier, melding extreme fire rate, enhanced maneuverability, and versatile ammunition options. However, these come at the cost of significant recoil, rapid ammunition consumption, and potential energy dissipation, demanding skill and adaptability from its operators.

It's always nice to see people creating new weapons for themselves, but there are a few points with this submission which I need to review with you.

1) Ratings

Both of the rating categories are one point underpowered if that's something you'd like to fix. However, I do have some concerns about the Ammunition capacity rating. In particular, you note that if the weapon is tied into an external ammo source (be it belt fed or a power source) which dramatically increases the ammunition rating of the machine gun. If the gun is capable of being attached to another source of ammunition then this will need to be balance as well.

2) Special Features - the A.A.S.H. System

A balancing factor of the gun is that it's recoil which offsets it's other ratings. However, the A.A.S.H. system is designed to absorb recoil thereby nullifying the rating. Is this your intent?

3) Strengths and Weaknesses

Please include the strengths and weaknesses of Selgurium and Fyridogun in the submission instead of linking to them.

The Factory Rules specifically states that

Code:
2. All submissions should reflect the strengths and weaknesses of their materials and components for transparency and fair play.

While you do provide a link to the submissions this isn't really reflecting them in your submission. In addition, it means other writers have to click through the links when using or facing the weapon in PvP. While it's a small thing it's nicer for opposing writers to have all the elements of your submission on one page for easy review instead of having to bounce between multiple pages.

Please review my notes and tag me back with your thoughts

John Locke John Locke worked some strengths and weaknesses of the metal into the base catagories

fixed the rating issue i belive

as for the recoil, its not completely nullified but lowered only when in use with the A.A.S.H system. its made mostly to have a better advantage if used with the A.A.S.H system the recoil is still there but the attachment absorbs most of the recoil for the soldier

as for the higher ammo count with the tied into a vic or bunker. i would love to hear some suggestions on better balancing that

So to be clear, the gun still has the same recoil, it's just that the soldier firing doesn't feel it cause it's being taken in by the arm, so it'll bounce in the same way, just not be felt by the PC?

Tibana

Slug

Production: Minor: 1
Size: Large: 1
Weight: Heavy: 1
Ammunition Capacity: Small [Slug] | 400 (Slug) [30-06]: 1
Effective Range: Average: 0
Rate of Fire: Extremely High: 3

I've included the calculations above, so as you can see it's now balanced.

In terms of using them as bunker fed weaponry, all weapons have that potential if jury-rigged. So I would personally not mention it. If you have to I would mention that when set up in that way their rate of fire is reduced by the increased heat and they're locked into position and can't be moved.

High Commander of the Lilaste Order
John Locke John Locke Yeah essentially, the recoil is absorbed by the arm, and the arm also helps mitigate the kickback, helping to keep the weapon in place while firing

iv taken your list and separated the tibana and slug sections for easier identification
