STRENGTHS
  • Bulwark: Like many Mon Calamari designs, the Tuz II has multi-layered shielding which allows it to at least put up one set of shields in a given area even if some of the ship's other shielding systems are damaged or down. Additionally, the Tuz sports fairly thick armor plating, making it exceptionally difficult to take down on the battlefield.
  • Heavy Hitter: The Tuz II is a classic big gun battleship, capable of bringing at least three of its Ragnarok Heavy Gun Batteries in any arc and supplementing these weapons with hundreds of other guns. A single broadside from a Tuz II can very easily eliminate a number of cruisers and frigates with a single stroke.
WEAKNESSES
  • Low Agility: The Tuz II is not an agile craft due to its size and the mass of its heavy armor.
  • Low Speed: The Tuz II is not a fast vessel on account of its bulk and power dedication to its large number of weapons and shield projectors.
DESCRIPTION
While the original Tuz-class Battlecruisers were built in mind with low operating costs, there was concern, especially given the recent experience with the Bryn'adul Empire, that there was still a chance that they might face an unorthodox threat that would be highly resistant to the energy weapons that provided must of the original Tuz's firepower. Consequently, an even more limited variant of the Tuz was produced that was almost exclusively armed with projectile weapons. The idea was that albeit they would be more costly to operate because of the cost of physical ammunition, the weapons could simply be equipped with new projectiles if they again encountered an unorthodox foe. Less than ten Tuz II-class Battlecruisers exist, all of them assigned to the Alpha Heavy Attack Line within the Silver Jedi Concord's Fourth Fleet under Admiral Quee. Because of their operating costs, it is actually rare for all of the Battlecruisers to actually be crewed at any time - most of the time they are moored in inactive strategic reserve, waiting to be activated to fight the right foe.
