The Return [TRE/SJO Invasion of Dromund Kaas]

Dromund Kaas - Orbit
Calm.
The space above the ancient Sith World seemed to linger with an aura of silence. The Silver Jedi Defenses rested, ready and alert to the threat that lingered just a few million light years away. They seemed still, waiting, watching, prepared. They couldn't have known, but they expected it.
The Sith were coming.
Their world was occupied, the seat of their Throne for over a millenia, the rightful crown world of Vitiate, held by the hands of Jedi. It was an inevitable battle, a fight that would commence not as an if, but when. It was only a matter of time until a New Empire rose. It was only a matter of time until they came for what was rightfully theirs. The planet itself seemed to loom within the abyss of space, it called and sang, hummed with the power of the darkside.
It seemed to reach out, a gentle grasp that tugged at every Sith and pulled them towards it. Like a mother embracing its child, Dromund Kaas reached out. The call went out, and it was answered.
From the ethos of Space, hidden within those streaking blue lines came the Resurgent Empire's fleet. It tore itself free from the clutches of hyperspace with a sudden jarring lurch. There was no warning, there was no precursor. As sudden as could be the Sith came back to their Throne World, they fell not one at a time, but in a sudden burst of numbers.
The Sith had returned to Dromund Kaas.

Dromund Kaas - Orbit to Citadel
Objective: Reclaim the Citadel
Enemies: SJO

As the fleet dropped into space about Dromund Kaas dozens of fighters, shuttles, and troop transports joined them. Hundreds of ships swarmed forward, some small, some large, none of them holding any regard for what they might face. The ships rolled like a tide, turbo-lasers, mass drivers, and missiles firing into their lines. Explosions began to wrack them, transports and fighters rupturing into space and being torn apart by the Silver Jedi's Defenses.
"Continue." Vrak said, his hand tight on the back of the pilots chair. His gaze dashed from place to place, watching as his transports flew at and through the defenses of the Jedi. Blooms of explosions burst every few seconds, another hundred lives lost. His lips thinned but he did not seem to care. "Reach the surface."
His voice was cold. Thousands would die as they descended to the surface, but they weren't even a thought in his mind.
"Any cost." The Star Destroyers behind them began to lay down covering fire, massive turbo-laser blasts beginning to bounce between fleets as the ships continued to drive toward the planets surface.
Vrak held onto the chair a bit tighter as his own shuttle shook, his lips thinning as the pilot broke them through the defensive line. He felt the ship suddenly drop as they entered the atmosphere, the transport on their wing bursting into flame as a concussion missile struck it's engine. Shrapnel from the other ship reached and pressed into the metal hull of the shuttle, smoke spewing forth as the pilot desperately attempted to maintain control. Vrak's hand moved to the pilots shoulder, his fingers digging into the mans skin.
The force began to bleed from him, his eyes set on the planet below. Power began to flood through him, and the panic of the pilot disappeared. Slowly the shuttle rushed forward, smoke spewing to obscure the other transports behind it. Then he saw.
The Citadel, the broken ruins, the once grand city. His grip tightened again, and then the shuttle dove. It's engines gave out, the repulsors at its base desperately struggling to hold it afloat. His hand joined the other, grasping onto the metal railings of the vessel as they suddenly went crashing into the ruin streets of the citadel. The lights within the shuttle went black, and then they went crashing into the ground.
For a moment silenced reigned, and then the cargo hold burst open, a singing hum of red echoing onto the street.

GenoHaradan Frigate [x] - Orbiting Dromund Kaas

Catalys looked on from his observation deck.

His crew were busy at work throughout the bridge, maintaining the various systems which prevented and inhibited virtually all forms of detection.

The agent looked out upon the Sith fleet jumping from hyperspace. Imposing starship designs, the edgy Resurgent Empire livery, and their descent upon Dromund Kaas itself all seen from his distant post just outside anyone's line of fire. Surely this would be their day, and it reminded him of battles past when he served the Primeval and One Sith.

However, something struck him...

He looks around his own vessel, then back to the Sith ships. Catalys ponders deeply in thought, before turning his attention to [member="Tai Fa"].

The near-human hybrid finished the last bit of polish on the hilt of her charcoal-hilted lightsaber as the ship rocked. The lights within dimmed before being restored to their usual-hue. Athena wasn't worried. She trusted her handmaidens to get them planet-side in one piece, even if that meant sacrificing most of the ship.

A pity.

Pink-lips twisted briefly into a cruel smile, then quickly flattened. The darkside swirled around the half-omwati as her mind pushed forward. Dormant beasts called to her and something much darker. Midnight feathers within her dark-hair ruffled, as did her restored wings along her back.

Soon, my darlings. Soon you will be free. And the jedi will pay for their insolence.

Dirt and leaves crunched quietly beneath Mishka's armored grieves as she strolled through the forest at a casual pace. Even though it was her second day on the planet, Mishka marveled at the state of it. Lush forests and rolling planes had all but reclaimed the planet. Which was not at all what she had been expecting when she had set out for the world, or when she slipped past SJO patrols and dove into the planet's atmosphere.

Turning to glance behind her, Mishka was... Fairly sure she knew which direction her shuttle was in. Somewhere... in the general direction of "behind her", a single Aka'jor shuttle sat cold and quiet, as it had for the past day and a half. It was parked as deeply under the thick cannopy as possible, with leaves and branches draped over it for good measure. Last night, she had returned to the shuttle at the end of a long day of searching. Today, she planned to do the same if she still couldn't find what she was after. Assuming she could even find the shuttle again.

Stupid forest kept playing tricks on her.

For a day and a half now, Mishka had searched the dark and twisting forest in search of a rare ore found only on Dromund Kaas. Her shuttle had picked up a magnetic disturbance in the area and Mishka's connection to the Manda assured her that a large chunk of meteorite was to blame for the disturbance... Sadly, Mishka had not anticipated the forest to possess a Darkside aura that rivaled the unprocessed metal ore. Seeming almost sentient at times, the blasted forest continued to twist Mishka around and keep her from her prize.

"Aruetii abomination." She cursed at the forest, and not for the first time.

Yawning as she continued her walk, vaguely sure that she was heading towards the center of the aura she sensed, Mishka wondered if the forest or the planet itself was to blame for the nightmares she had had last night, dreading their possible return when she tried to sleep again tonight. A glance at the helmet that hung from her waist betrayed her temptation to simply sleep with it on, letting the force-mask built into it protect her from the worst of the planet (or forest)'s manipulations. Sadly, the only thing she hated more than the nightmares was sleeping in her helmet. It felt like a coffin. Not because of the closeness, but because of the isolation she felt while wearing it, cut off from the Manda and all that is natural.

No... She would suffer through the nightmares just like she would suffer through the forest. With her head held high and a suppressing another yawn, Mishka strolled through the forest, trusting her instincts and the Manda to guide her to her prize.

"Why is it that you couldn't bring Yula? Yula was the one you trusted most to lead a starfighter force" Jessica asked, at the beginning of a heated conversation between them.

"Her fame in the Sith world makes her a liability to the Silver Jedi Council: Yula is by far the most famous starfighter pilot in the Sith world and she could have been here in command of all enemy starfighter squadrons were it not for her betrayal of the Sith factions"

"I get that you were among the Silver Jedi for much longer than I was, but even then you say that they would not welcome Sith turncoats?" She then turned to the encrypted channel that was to be transmitted to the entire fleet at the disposal of Outsider Command: "When I last was a Silver Jedi, I was but a lowly padawan. Today I return to the Silver Jedi as a general, as a Jedi Master: in these difficult times, we need all Jedi to band together. May the Force be with us all!" She then proceeds to turn off the encrypted channel.

"How do you feel, now that you're back into Silver Jedi service?"

"Julie, has the dark side energy of that place gotten to you? All Jedi need to work together and fight these Sith factions wherever they are! I intend to prove that much! I've always said that the problems with Sith arise in factions" Jessica told Julie, sensing that there may be a few issues with the question.

"If I may, Jessica, you were excommunicated because of stuff for which you played no role in: the Butcher of Korriban"

"The Butcher of Korriban shall be avenged!" Jessica shouted into the encrypted PA channel.

Julie Jutland worked hard so as to get Jessica to take the leadership of this band of anti-Sith fanatics the Silver Jedi officially called Outsider Command, with, at the core of the ground force, ex-GR soldiers that served under the infamous Lasedri administration. OK, [member="Sorel Crieff"] et al knew that few enough among the Silver Jedi proper wanted such a thing as the command of a fleet or an army, let alone a joint command that amounts to commanding a fleet and an army simultaneously. Also, of course, are some radicals who witnessed and survived Sith-induced disasters: a contingent of Croa who had otherwise nothing left to live for since Sekalus was evacuated, a contingent of Mirialans, survivors from the many atrocities committed by the One Sith back in the day on Coruscant, Mindabaal residents. And also Lurmen who survived the onslaught of the Sith Ascendancy on Mygeeto. (Midvinter survivors would instead join the Silver Jedi, Silver Army or Silver Navy if they wished to actively fight Sith factions) Due to the expected low survivability of the attack craft that can mount them, Julie ordered all attack craft on hand that was capable to load heavy bombs to do so.

"All units, battle stations!" Julie ordered.

"Here's the plan: we are to attempt to interdict the enemy transports in orbit, and instructions from the Silver Jedi Council are that we shall not deploy ground forces until the surface troops call us for aid. For the plan to work, though, you shall keep every mention of force strength secret until we are actually asked for reinforcements: the enemy may attempt to shoot us down if they decide to later"

"They're following the same protocol as on Midvinter: they are making an unsupported, unescorted high-speed run to the surface!" the sensor technician reported, based on the sensor readings relayed by the tactical display. "The main enemy fleet appears to be inbound for the Citadel, not noticing that we are within long-range of the enemy"

"Unsupported you say? We need to keep some fighters in our screen: squadrons 1-10, for the transports inbound for the Citadel, squadrons 11-20, intercept the transports inbound for the Jungle Remnants, squadrons 21-30 intercept the transports inbound for the Dark Temple, all other squadrons, protect the fleet!" Julie ordered.

"The main enemy fleet appears to be massed over the Citadel. Train the main gun towards the enemy flagship: now is the time to show these swine of the Resurgent Empire what we can do!" the captain of the Tenchu told Jessica.

"If our intelligence is correct, they can modify their ship loadout at will. However, their stock configuration suggests that they are at a disadvantage at such long range" the chief engineer reported.

"All units, fire!"

The Tenchu's long-range weaponry was thus trained at one of the Harrowers, with the Rhongomyniads being loaded with buzz droids, plasma torpedoes, and said Harrower had a massive hypervelocity round coming at it. Meanwhile, the three Lothals ganged up all their firepower on another Harrower, with the two pairs of destroyers each targeting one Harrower, and the remaining ships with long-range capability fired on yet another Harrower, for a total of five Harrowers being targeted, all of which getting variable volumes of long-range fire, but heavy enough to be a source of concern even at this range. As for intercepting the enemy transports: that was easy, too easy perhaps to close range, and the enemy transports will soon find themselves with fighters and bombers on their tail. That and she did not know just yet whether the fighters would deploy.

"Warn the Silver Jedi Council immediately!"

"Channel open" the communications officer told Jessica.

"Silver Jedi Council, Dromund Kaas is under attack! The Resurgent Empire has come in force, all Jedi in-system are on maximum alert! Currently we are attempting to blockade the system" she opened a channel to [member="Matsu Ike"] and [member="Sorel Crieff"], as well as [member="Thurion Heavenshield"] and [member="Coci Heavenshield"], in addition to the Jedi commanders in the system.

Allies: Silver Jedi Order
Enemies: Resurgent Empire

The klaxon's sounded throughout the buildings, ranger's and jedi were moving as Ayumi stood there and she knew what she needed to go and do. Her smokestone underlay in her silver robes were beautiful to see. The gleaming black and silver of it with the cape framed her body when she entered the room. Seeing the display console and all of the ships that had come on approach here. They had the monitoring stations and works around here when the stations were coordinating with the Kaas System defenses were going to work. The Saotome Shield Carriers were setting out to the cities and the major locations with defensive fighters. Ayumi's eyes were flicking around so she could see the planet itself here. From the system itself they had been setting up plenty with the Saotome Flower's and their Saotome Orbital Station. Leaving them in orbit of the world, its moons and the planets themselves around everything.

There was even the shipyards that had been being used by them to produce ships and with the resources stations they had a strong supply for the factory and repair ships that were able to resupply and repair or start repairing parts of it. The larger stations that they had there for building ships and keeping the fleet maintained was an important thing to have. Where she could see all of it here when tey were opening fire. The lightly protected flowers were well just that but they were also a fair amount of extra capital guns that could be used to attack an enemy fleet from different angles and were small enough they didn't present as large of a target for the range. "Have the ships be put into the directives with all fo the others, get the fleets to tear their ships apart and start having the system locked down. We have the interdictors and everything that we need correct?" She said it while they were looking at her and offering a small nod of their heads.

"Understood Master Ayumi." The woman Arya was standing there with them as she focused the energies within the small compound. They were directing from here but she had two purposes, one to oversee the forces for ground and space, another to protect and make sure Ayumi in the meditation chamber was protected and able to remain undistracted when she was going into her own work. Arya gave a small nod before Ayumi walked into the room getting a small nod of approval going to thtank in the center. A place she would be able to don the small mask that would be over her face. A deprivation chamber she could be in and allow her mind to reach out and focus with the force. Climbing into it before she was putting on the protective mask with the filter and regulator for her oxygen and breathing.

"Good luck." SHe said it closing her eyes for a time, for a moment when she felt the pounding of her heart subside, slowly reaching down and letting it settle. The sounds of the klaxons died down until it was white noise. Just a thrumming sound on the edge of her consciousness, the force a feeling she could go with before she was starting to reach out. Feeling the minds, feeling the people much like she had done at Gyndine and Deneba itself. Where she would and could work her skills with the force maintaing her focus in the force more and more breathing until she was ready. Reaching out and feeling the minds of the ranger's feeling the minds of the jedi who were there with her until she was touching more of the jedi themselves. The ones in the city who were seeing a transport work to suicide dive from space and rush through the anti air defenses that were there to tear them down.

Arya could feel it there from the room as they were sealing it up and she was focusing the current, allowing the energies around them to go as she continued to world and spoof different parts. Hiding the facility they were in would be one thing but she had a few other things working now as the feeling of it around her as she worked on the ritual and immersion to hide more of the people with them. Forces here on the ground and in space were going to be hard pressed to really get all of it here. She was focusing before watching where the ranger's were deploying and bringing out all of their areas of interest. Moving quickly through the jungle with the rapid assault speeders and with the heavier more bulky beasts. Arya was allowing Ayumi's influence to go to herself and many of the others where it was calming and focusing.

Her own was working on the coordination itself, where they were all going over with them. She could see other ships that were working to come and smash into the planet with them once the shield carriers were getting into position with their planetary grade shields able to cover areas from bombardment. There was the fighters and armor divisions from the ranger's bases and all of the works that they had going on in the city. "Move the ironmonger's towards the central pass. I want those walkers working and smashing any forces that might be there. Once transports come down, work on tearing them apart quickly. Dismantle their works faster then just choosing the targets. We have the numbers right now and we have the flowers with the stations working to engage the fleet. I want the tenchu being moved into position to smash and break through with the nobelese and champion classes to get what we can."

She remained there while focusing the force energies, she focused the energy outwards to let herself do it as the other ranger's were working on many more parts of it. "Lady Arya we have armor divisions in position to begin deploying them with the soldiers. The locals on the planet are aiding with their military and militia's where they can. The sith brought Larraq and he brought destruction to them that we have worked to rebuild. THey don't want to have things such as that repeat itself." History was important for them, it gave chances and opportunities to really work with it as they had the different divisions set up and prepared. The ranger's scout snipers ready for sith creatures, things they would run the risk of fighting as they had with everything else. She could see them moving in the armor as it was a strong division of ranger's.

She knew Willa had been working with them while they operated on a few of the other areas. Letting more of the force reach out from Ayumi in the chamber to go towards the fleet itself here. Reaching out with the battle area, the AI's that were working to protect their ships and crews all over there. They had the crews and they had the marines prepared until the rest of their pilots in the stronger fighters were all set up to smash through and provide with themselves for a number of the ships. "Good, we will work with many of the things here but I have a few things to prepare." She was seeing many of the things over all of them, allowing the jedi here to work on things. She saw some other parts now as there were more ships above them. "Begin jericho procedures and have them starting to set up with the Dymo cruisers. I want them and the carricks moving around."

She got looks and nods from the others as the work they had going on when the defensive stations were firing on the ships. Reinforcing the few commanders they had up there for directing the fleet. Carriers that were deploying down to the planet to give off their armor divisions then they would be heading back up with their large fighter screen. Arya was waiting with more information pouring in before they could see all of it. The fleets would be releasing and sending them their Jericho's to work on, their fighter squadron's deploying and protecting them when they would be locking down and covering the city. Making it both locked down and they would be making it into something others couldn't think about. They would interlock it and make the walls that would be protected on the planet, with the shield carried adjusted to be in the middle and protect it to create a zone or two.

Meanwhile in batcave Ayumi's mind was reaching out as she could feel the force itself now. She could feel the minds of the jedi around them, she was breathing into the mask and there were more minds around her. More minds then just the jedi, the militia and the military. Those who were coming after them, those in space, the pilots, the commanders, the focus and intensity until she was wanting to see other parts of it among herself. 'Breathe, allowing your minds to be with mine.' She could feel more of it, she could feel some of the larger parts here until they had her meditations there to get rid of the tension and the doubt. The sith had arrived passing the monitoring stations. It gave them prep and a chance top be alert. They didn't know where they would be coming out of space right away but they knew generally the area for the system.

She was allowing more of her mind and she could feel others like [member="Jessica Med-Beq"], [member="Sorel Crieff"], [member="Jericho"], [member="Mishka Larraq"] and a number of other people who were here with them. There were commanders, there were ranger's, there were soldiers, there were jedi and the locals who came around and fought with them. Who were using the reconstruction efforts the jedi had given them to now. Where she was eliminating and replacing any doubt, fear or thoughts of dread with comfort, power and focus. They had the drive as the fleets fighters were starting to move. Her mind reaching for the others to cloud their minds and allow the lightside of the force to obscure the sith she could feel coming around like [member="Vrak Nashar"] who had made the first plays to get to the planet and towards the reconstructed citadel they had explored to build up.

The defenses there as teachers and the few security they had were protecting the children who lived in there. Her mind and battle meditation before the rest of the areas on the planet were being turned out and put into a lock down. Something was creeping across the planet to come up but She knew the others here would be working to keep them safe until what was happening here. She could feel soem fo the jedi on the planet when she reached out to ease the minds of a few others. The darkside of the world would be enflamed, it would be on the rise compared to many of the others now though. She knew the new Grandmaster fo the jedi order would have things to do as [member="Thurion Heavenshield"] and [member="Coci Heavenshield"] would hopefully be coming in here to aid them where they could as she released another breath. Letting her mind coordinate, focus and empower those who served the light and diminish the dark.

She was letting some final mental stretches go outwards where they were wanting to deal with the dangers for now. Where she could see and feel it, where she could let herself sense the jedi and their allies before pushing the force energies out to aid them mentally. It was more like a breath of fresh air as the force continued to focus around her and pool in her core. Going outwards into the air and allowing it to channel to the others. 'Focus, be stronger' She was sticking with it, her own mental chants and corrections where it was needed, her own thoughts not working to distract her as it slowly let the sensory deprivation go their own ways for the moment longer. Ayumi's eyes were closed lightly as they fluttered almost in a state of sleep and meditation. Unlike Gyndine and Deneba she wasn't just learning how to focus this power she had been practicing and was stronger.

Objective: Board the unboardable boat
To wit, SSV Tenchu, commanded by Jedi Master [member="Jessica Med-Beq"]

“Then I came in like a wrecking baaall,” Velok hummed to himself, off key. The Sekairo-class stealth transport’s stygium cloak remained active as the little ship decanted to realspace. The cloak kept reversion sensors from picking it up, and gravitic modulators did the same for crystal gravfield traps and other mass-detectors. Until he did something dumb, his ship was undetectable.

“I just close my eeeyes and faaall…”

As the ancient war anthem skirled through his head, Velok angled the stealth transport toward the blockade’s command ship.

“All I wanted was to break your waaaalls…”

His passive sensor board lit up with all kinds of insanity. That ship had just about every kind of shield known to man. It had anti-concussion fields that could rebound missiles and take the sting from collisions. It had molecular shields that could turn planet-melting bombardments into usable power. It had a veritable cornucopia of armors and weapons.

What it did not have was any type of shield capable of stopping a boarding effort, as basic particle shields would have done.

At a range of five hundred metres, though Velok couldn't have known it, the rare Angel Eye sensor system would detect him. By then, however, it might well be too late to stop him from getting to the hull.

“Hmmm hmmm you, you wreeeeck meeee…”

The iron rain poured out in a deluge, blue skies weeping fiery tears.

Thengil's drop pod cratered into the earth in an eruption of dirt. He emerged moments later from the still-smoking pod, girded for war. Death in his paws, cruelty in his gaze, blood hammering in his head.

The Cathar's eyes swung toward a source of power in the Force. Battle meditation. Not easily done. Nor so skillfully concealed.

He strode toward the sourcepoint of the battle meditation, opening his eyes to the ethereal to see the unseen, the sorcery of Sith on his tongue.

Caid stood silently in the cockpit of one of the many Sith transports that had erupted from the newly arrived fleet. From behind the featureless, black mask covering his face, silver-green eyes shifted between the other vessels arrayed before his own. Since arriving within the Resurgent Empire's space, Caid had spent the vast majority of his time on Thule. A brief audience with the member of the Dark Council responsible for supervising the warriors of the Empire had been necessary, of course. Since then, he'd focused his efforts on establishing his own residence, training the company of Massassi he'd...acquired. An acquisition that had, honestly, nearly killed the young Sith.

That seemed hardly a concern of material at this point. The simple reality was that he'd noted the names of the other Sith assigned to his particular task for the operation on Dromund Kaas. [member="Maleagant"] he hadn't recognized in the slightest. However, [member="Athena Heron"] was a name all too familiar to him. A woman that he'd thought of more in his months on Endelaan than likely made sense. More importantly, he knew the woman well enough to know she undoubtedly did not take kindly to his disappearance without so much as a word. Or...perhaps the knowledge that he'd known she was with the Empire for some weeks now.

A smile touched Caid's lips for a moment. No. Most likely she will display a wealth of intense indifference. It would just be a lie.

"Major."

"I see it." The young Sith's attention had diverted to a sudden surge in air defense coverage coming from the ground. It was to be expected - Caid had elected to deploy his forces, four transports worth, in the first wave of assault craft heading to the planet. From a standpoint of tactics, embedding his forces in those bound for the Citadel would help to mask their true target until the very last moment. "Tuck the section above and to the right of that section there," Caid motioned to a series of assault craft beginning the final aspect of their approach. The flight crew executed the order seamlessly, shadowing his transports from most of the ground fire.

"We're at the Initial Point, Major."

Caid grasped a panel next to him firmly. "Proceed Lieutenant." No sooner had the words left the Sith's lips than the transport banked sharply to the right and dove away from their current flight path. In a matter of minutes, the four transports were sweeping low over the tree-tops, racing towards pre-determined insertion points in the jungle. Caid was aware the most dangerous foes they would face in these jungles were certainly not Jedi. It was no matter. "Split the section. Once all forces are deployed, establish a high altitude support position." Turning, Caid departed the cockpit just as the flight crew acknowledge his last order. Casual footsteps carried him towards the cargo bay where his most capable warriors made their final preparations.

How strange this galaxy seemed compared to the one he had always known.

Gazing out the viewport of his shuttle, Zarek could not help but marvel at just how different Dromund Kaas looked now than the last time he had been there. Some distant part of him recognized he should be offended, that such...Force aberrations as the Jedi occupied what must have at one point been the seat of all power in the galaxy. But in the moment, he could only admire the landscape, and the calm outside his craft in seemingly every direction. Hot sticky rivulets dripped down from his brow, and recognizing the color he knew it must be blood. That same quiet voice in the back of his mind urged him to focus, that there was something about this phenomenon that was somehow out of place. Wrong...was that smoke?

Oh yes, he was crashing.

Coming suddenly back to himself as he fully regained consciousness, Aeterno's eyes widened and he coughed and sputtered as the smoke from the flashing console in front of him billowed into his face. Blinking through the stinging pain, the lone occupant of the plummeting, dying craft tried desperately to gain some comprehension of just how precarious a predicament he found himself in. Just about every readout in the cockpit was flashing violently in dismay, and as the Sith Knight struggled with the controls that weren't fused or currently on fire the events of his arrival into the system came flooding back to him. He had escaped Fort Dawn, and although he had not managed to kill the Jedi Zark as he had planned, he felt confident that he had destroyed the man nonetheless.

At a loss for where to go, and fearing retribution on the slim chance he had miscalculated, Zarek had set a course to one of the only places he could think of. Imperial Center was property of the hated Alliance, he had spent enough time among them to learn that much at least. So his choices had been either the ancestral homeworld of his people's precursors, or the birthplace of his empire. The first choice was too much of a question mark, and in the end the Sith had felt if there was anything left of his people in this nightmare dreamscape, it would be on Dromund Kaas. And when he had first arrived, it seemed as though his prayers had been answered, for the first vessels he had arrived had born distinctively Sith markings, though they were of a kind Aeterno had never encountered before.

His hails had been met immediately with a challenge, and apparently none of the identification codes the former Grand Knight could still recall mattered for much in this Dromund system.

Their opening salvo had knocked him unconscious, it was a minor miracle that his shuttle had not been completely blown out of space. His Alliance shuttle, of course, he now realized. The Galactic Alliance and the Sith did not get along, that had been a foolish detail for him to forget. It had almost gotten him killed, and looking at the growing number of emergency alerts on the parts of the shuttle's display that were still functional he realized it probably still would. By now he had given up hope on restarting the ship's ravaged engines, and was focusing on getting just enough power to the thrusters to take manual control and try to smooth out his descent into something a little less terminal.

The console he was working on shorted out suddenly, shooting sparks forcing him to shield his face with his arms lest he be blinded. Cursing in frustration and rage, with an inhuman snarl Aeterno summoned the darkness from deep within him almost instinctively, sending a torrent of electricity surging through his hands, out his fingertips, and into the display. The readout booted back up to life, flashing red characters in Aurebesh suddenly turning green with an optimistic twang. Grinning triumphantly, as he glanced back out the viewport his eyes widened when he realized he was seconds away from hitting the jungle canopy at a descent vector that wouldn't leave much left of the shuttle, let alone its desperate occupant.

Hauling back on the stick in front of him, Aeterno found himself praying silently to whatever dark gods may be listening to see him through this moment. He had come too far, survived too much, to be reduced to nothing more than debris deep in some long forgotten crater in the jungles of Dromund Kaas.

The ship struck the surface, and all was black once more.

There was a small sense of pride in the Munin's heart. He was remembering the time when the Mandalorians had invaded and stripped the Sith from this ancestral world that resonated in the soul of each individual that represented the Sith Order. The memories of ththe defunct Clans was the only thing that he was left from it. There were some good memories, but then it soured as the so called united Mandalorian Clans dissolved along with the cataclysm of Mandalore.

And that rid of any piece of ancient pride that was deep within the Sole Ruler.

But today, unlike the many years that had passed since the Mandalorian Invasion of Dromud Kaas, he was not here as a conqueror. No, he was not. Then was he considered as a liberator? Not at all. Dromud Kaas meant nothing to him or to his people. There were no strong ties between this nexus and the Mandalorian Culture. He was here for two things. The warrior acted as an elite mercenary along with other Munin clansmen. They would be rewarded and gifted with treasur a in all kinds of currency from the Sith for their service as the Sole Ruler had made a mutual relationship between his people and the Sith. But the second factor in why he was here today was because of the Jedi. There was a burning passion of hatred in his heart for that order which would never come to an end until he marched away or succeeded in purging it. One would ask but why? The Jedi had never done anything to Vilaz which was true, but it had involved in the past.

Long time ago, a time when thhe Mandalorians prospered yet still were true to their traditions, the Republic and the Jedi made an unforgivable atrocity against Vilaz's culture. It was also known as the Mandalorian Excision. An event that happened all because his ancestors and predecessors did not join the Galactic Republic. Knowing this angered the Concordian, but it angered him more as these acts had not yet been punished accordingly. The Republic was no more, but the Jedi were all that remained and the Mand'alor promised to avenge those that were victims of the unnecessary excision.

The dropship containing him, Carnifex, and units of both Blackblade and Munin warriors, followed a flock of other vessels all coming together to one region. The Citadel. The shuttle rocked from enemy fire as their pilot exercised their skill at high levels with the adrenaline rushing through their veins. Fortunately, they finally broke through the atmosphere without anything on the vessel being majorly harassed. Then moments later they had landed meters away from the crashed Shiite holding [member="Vrak Nashar"] and whatever quantity of soldiers and Sith knights. The doors of the ship opened themselves to reveal what else had come to streets of the Citadel.

More wrath and fury had come.

Joon lived for moments like this.

The fleet of the Resurgent Empire burst out of the darkness into the orbit of Dromund Kaas like spearheads cutting through space, arriving at their destination. Their goal? Simple. To take back a planet born of the Dark Side from the Jedi invaders.

Typical that the Jedi would claim this world as their own; countless innocents probably lost their lives as this ‘Silver Order’ took the planet with force. Well, now it was the right of those fighting for the Empire and serving the Dark Side to take it back and avenge those fallen.

Turning in the transport shuttle that followed a small convoy through, escorted by fighters as the orbital strike provided cover, Joon saw her Apprentice seated and watching her. [member="Stephanie Brown"] had been brought on her first real taste of battle with the Dark Side as an ally. It was a test for her, and one that Joon would evaluate and judge on. She was eager, she was ready, she was perfect to shape into a new beast to unleash.

”Remember your training. No compassion. No emotion. No mercy."

Joon gave a cruel smile at the girl, and then turned back, holding the support as the transport ducked down for the final approach to their destination of the Citadel.

”One minute!”

The Knight stepped forward, a few more warriors taking place with her. She didn’t know their names; some wore masks to conceal their faces. All she knew was they were as hungry for bloodlust, violence and glory as she, and that was enough.

The sliding doors unlocked and were pulled open, and the roar of wind billowed through the transport to give them a view of the battlezone. The sky was dotted with starship fire. Bombardments kicked up craters and plumes of rock in the distance. The old city came into view, and the mighty Citadel broke the horizon.

Standing tall looking out over a world that was rightfully theirs, the Citadel was the target to secure, and also the streets around it.

Joon’s dark hair whipped around her as she closed her amber eyes and inhaled, feeling the rush of wind and smelling the scent of war around her. Her fur lined robe gently flapped, and her tight black and brown leather gear hugged her body, some loose material hung from her arms in a very Amazonian way.

The transport came low and the loading ramp came down. It was time to move.

”I see you hesitate to kill the Jedi, I kill you! Take our planet back!"

Joon shouted her rally cry and jumped out of the side-door as a blaster rifle pod was pushed out down the ramp to set up a fixed firing position to provide cover. Lightsabers ignited around her as forces began to move out, but Joon kept hers fixed to her side for now.

She stood, waiting for her Apprentice and surveyed the streets with the Citadel in the distance. She would sniff out any Jedi Knight and tear their throats out and decorate herself in their blood. She would show no mercy to any on the planet, man, woman or child, who did not serve the darkness.

Her corrupted eyes were sickly and her skin was pasty white. She was a walking nightmare, and a vision of the dark power she worshipped.

Dromund Kaas.

The throneworld of the Sith, the heart of their ancestral Empire.

Their greatest triumph, his greatest failure.

The Dark Lord gazed upon the world through the viewport of the MAAC/iv he and Vilaz Munin were taking to breach the planet's atmosphere, although most of his view was obstructed by the grand space battle that was unfolding as the Resurgent Empire dropped out of hyperspace right on the Silver Jedi's defenses. A darkness swirled about him as the dropship dipped and weaved through the maze of broken ships and dogfights, the memories of what had transpired here nearly twenty years ago still burned brightly in his mind.

Dromund Kaas had been sacked by the Mandalorians after the inability of those he put in charge of the world's defenses allowed them to scatter the Imperial fleet, and the world and its people burned. The jungles were laid bare and the Imperial City was annihilated outright and would become the mass grave for millions of Imperial citizens. Even after so many years the world still pulsated with the power of the atrocities inflicted upon it, darkness permanently saturating the world down to its very core from the death and destruction wrought upon its surface. Now it called to them, pleading with its lost and scattered children to free it from the oppressive yoke of the Jedi.

And so they had come.

Now the dropship breached the atmosphere alongside the others that had survived the gauntlet, and as they parted the clouds before them they could see the ruins of the old Imperial citadel stretch out on the horizon. The time was nearing to disembark, so the Dark Lord retreated from the cockpit to join the others in the hold, chiefly to briefly convene with Mand'alor to chart their course of action once they had landed. "We're nearing the Citadel, no doubt there will be plenty of Jedi filth trying to deny my people's birthright. We'll show them their folly." They landed and the ramp descended to reveal that battle had already been joined, the distinct flashes of Sith and Jedi weapons crackling like fireworks in the distance.

The reclamation had begun.

Dromund Kaas.

A most dreary and inhospitable world, the once-heart of an ancient empire bent on barbarism and corruption.

Here the Sith fell at the hands of powers greater than them, and here they shall fall again.

It had been during his tenure as Grandmaster that the Order had seized the long abandoned remains of the Imperial capital, with the intent on keeping it from less altruistic hands and with the hopes of ridding it of its strong and bloodied connection to the dark side of the Force. Although the Heavenshield Patriarch had hoped to retire to a life of peace with his wife and newborn child, when the call to arms came to fend off a large-scale Sith invasion there was no question whether Thurion would be there to give it his all, as was ever the case. No peace has ever been won without a war to usher it in.

The former Grandmaster stood at the head of a veritable army of Jedi and Antarian Rangers, with the latter making up the vast bulk of the force under his command; brave men and women taking up arms against galactic threats such as Sith and other world-spanning powers, having received the most gruelling and advanced military training this side of the galaxy. The Jedi Master, clad from head to toe in his at-this-point trademark set of Valkyri armour, looked to the busy skies above, now littered by the mighty spacefaring vessels belonging to both the guardians of light and the warriors of darkness.

A breeze rushed through his golden hair as a piece of debris from one of the descending shuttles came crashing down, yet easily dismissed by the Heavenshield with a wave of his hand. "Take heart," he bid the men closest to him, with the army at his back as entrenched as their preparations had allowed them. "For when darkness descends upon the world, the light shines all the brighter!" He raised his fist into the air, with the other resting upon the pommel of his trusty sword. A united warcry was let loose throughout their sector of the Citadel they'd been tasked with holding.

Spirits were high. In the distance numerous Sith shuttles were setting down, preparing to unload their troops. "On my command, unleash hell..."

Vitor busied himself with learning the ropes of naval warfare, starting from the basics. He could not help but be productive as much as possible, a result of his poor upbringing. The Sith also saw it as an opportunity to get acquainted with this side of the warfare. He had learned ground warfare mainly through Apex's lieutenant Stirok and General Saigo, chief of staff of Wraithguard. Yet, the paramilitary still lacked naval strength.

His recent contract with Kuat Drive Yards would be the first step in that direction so Vitor would prefer to have at least some basic knowledge of what was going on.

At the sign of hyperspace reversal, Vitor looked up from the communications suite and at the viewport. He then glanced at Lord Fa and Cataly whom seemed to be interacting before turning his face down at the suite before him and urging the man to keep explaining to him various functions.

Soon the two sides of the Force would clash.

Vrak stepped from the shuttle with a heavy echo of his boot. The Sith behind him rushed forward.

Blaster fire began to rain down upon them, missiles flew, but the Pureblood paid them no mind. His saber-staff was gripped tight, craddled within his fingers as he stalked forward from the birth of the shuttle. His gaze swept over everything before him. The ruins of the Citadel were still not completely rebuilt, there were half broken buildings, ancient monuments that the Jedi had not touched or were in the process of tearing down. Everything was...different.

The histories had spoken of this place as something sacred, as the birth of Vitiate's nation. His lips thinned as he looked around, ignoring the blaster fire that struck around him. The Pureblood scowled, his grip growing tighter and tighter as he looked all around them. Disgust brewed through, him bile filled his throat.

They had taken his world, they had brought it to it's own sort of ruin. His fingers tightened one last time, and slowly he stalked through the crowd. Battle had begun, Sith fought Jedi, Soldiers streamed from the transports. Blaster fire continued to rain, and finally his Saber-staff burst into life. A Jedi charged him, his teeth bared as he let out a battlecry. Vrak twisted, half turning and using the force to pull the youth off balance. His lightsaber stabbed through the Jedi's armor, impaling him.

He spoke into the comm-link of his mask. "There will be no blurred lines today. There will be no question."

His lightsaber wrenched back, the Jedi youth dropping to the floor. "Kill them all."

Vrak had no intent to take prisoners. He had no intent to preserve what the Jedi had done here. He would take Kaas, and he would restore the world to what it was meant to be.

The noise from the transport's repulsorlift engines filled the jungle, aggressively muting the sounds of nature in the immediate area. Fortunately, the communications gear wired into his mask helped to filter noise across certain bandwidths in order to reduce their effect. As a result, the call from the flight crew reached him clear as day.

"Major, Chalk 3 picked up a streamer about six klicks out. Should we detach an asset?" The Lieutenant knew what the next questions was going to be, and he quickly moved the conversation forward. "Unidentified transponder code."

Caid issued a series of hand motions to his warriors as he responded to the pilot over the comlink. "Execute the current mission profile. Keep me advised of enemy activity approaching our units on the ground and get me focused scans of the objective rally points. If the crash was one of ours, they'll make it known, and we can deal with it at that time."

"You got it sir." The Lieutenant was already applying thrust to both his repulsors and the sublight drive as he accelerated out of the small LZ that had been created.

The moment the transport had departed, Caid noted the sounds in the jungle steadily returning to normal. He didn't elect to take it for granted, quickly setting the platoon with him to purpose as he received reports from the other three.

---------------------------------

The spiting lightning of the unstable atmosphere over Dromund Kaas was hard to determine through the clash of the fleets, so much destruction and lives lost already. War was set upon them once more, of recent times it had visited the Silver Jedi much and no doubt would continue. It is the lot of a Jedi, and for the Sith it seemed to her .. the force can be cruel sometimes. Those chosen few that are 'blessed' to be attuned follow a path one would suggest is chosen for them regardless of life experience or even from birth, the dark and the light at constant war, the force battling itself using vessels of flesh to do it's bidding.

Men and women stood around her and her husband ready to battle the coming darkness once more, although no longer leaders in the Order, having that responsibility given to younger minds and shoulders, they have not relinquished the mandate of the Jedi, that is a life long oath once given should never be removed.

There is dangers here for the Jedi, not only those that now descend to ground with a purpose of ending life over a piece of dirt they believe to be their's, they believe they have a right to this place, own it, but no. It owns them, as does the darkside of the force, but they believe themselves to be above all this. Even the Jedi are guilty of this belief of possession over planets. Such fools. The dangers here for the Jedi, if they are not vigilant - is the darkside of Dromund Kaas. Coci can feel it, licking around her trying to penetrate her body with its corruption, the pull of darkside strong more so then ever as it bathes in the glory of those that have come to it's call. There is more then one battle today for the Jedi.

As Thurion rallied the Rangers and soldiers she could sense that familiar stirring of his Valkyri blood, it scares her at times, changes him yet the strength of it he draws upon to fight for the right. The greater good? She has never really understood this meaning, it is not something that can be achieved, the same goes for peace, but that is not the point if one was to understand it, or recognise the folly of it, it is the present and having the ability to bring some form of peace to those they serve to protect. As best they can.

Unleash hell, it is already here.

Coci stepped forward to stand by her husbands side as she had done on so many battle fields and readied herself to face the enemy once more.

"Intruder alert! Bow section, deck 62, breaching attempt underway" the security console blared.

"There's only one way that intruder could trigger an intruder alert this early in battle: they must have exploited some sort of open window in the shields. Is there anything of that sort in our weapons suite that could trigger such a thing? And whose muzzle is trainable forward?" Jessica asked the chief engineer, while obviously being unfamiliar with the layout of the Tenchu.

"We fired the main spinal-mounted gun at the Harrowers: it has that side effect you describe when fired" the chief engineer explained to her.

"The enemy fleet appears to have taken some damage and possibly losses, but our fighter losses were absorbed by the planetside garrisons. They seem not to notice us just yet" the sensor technician reported.

"We can deal with the fifth Harrower later. For now, anyway, their line will break if we take down the first four destroyers: the Tenchu will still fire at their flagship, the Midvinter and the Dellalt will fire at the second destroyer, the Kenobi and the Gallia at the third destroyer and everyone else with long-range weapons will fire at the fourth one" Julie ordered

"The enemy fleet is in the process of being caught in a pincer maneuver between the surface and us, but... we are being BOARDED!" the captain of the Tenchu admonished the commanders of Outsider Command. "Forward security teams, stand ready to fire but do not engage until provoked: switch to the alt fire mode on all the top barrels of all Famos hardpoints onboard!"

"If that's the case, I will go down with the ship. Unlike other Jedi in the Silver Jedi Navy, I will not go out of my way to rush and meet the enemy boarding parties head-on" she told the rest of the CIC crew. "Close the hangar doors!" she ordered.

That the Tenchu would have its hangar doors closed and hence would not have the ability to refuel and rearm the fighters while the boarding parties are still inside would not cause that much of an inconvenience, even with the 38 squadrons at Outsider Command's disposal. Once his boarding crew has opened a breach inside the bow section, kilometers away from the CIC, the Whipid called [member="Velok the Younger"] whom, to Jessica, was a dark blip on her Force-radar, would soon realize that, like all other decks, Deck 62 would be very disorienting to navigate. Then again, if Jessica needed to find her way to the hangar if ground deployment was required (with field artillery, heavy weapons, tanks in tow, inside AT-AT barges escorted by a few fighter squadrons) she would need to expend a considerable amount of computational power not to get lost on its way there. Meanwhile, Jessica smiled while noticing that the Sith fleet didn't notice that there was someone else firing at them, much to their detriment. Was it because it was suicidal to engage such a battlecruiser that can fire a high volume of fire at them from long range? Was it because of some sort of enemy incompetence? But Jessica knew better than to rest on her laurels: while Julie, as a naval commander, was more than a match for anything the Resurgent Empire currently fielded here, meter-for-meter, who knows: perhaps some unknown enemy commander that hasn't engaged yet may undo everything Julie has accomplished thus far. Perhaps the Resurgent Empire was one of those factions whose naval doctrine was to send in the rabble first and the elites second, in which case it's a different strategy from what the AARs regarding Midvinter would indicate, where the then-Sith Order deployed all their naval forces at once.

A Sekairo-class stealth transport carried twenty soldiers - or, in this case, around a hundred very curious mouse droids. They rushed through the breach in a torrent of beewheeping vengeance. Several promptly took the brunt of the Silvers' top-barrel particle beams and blatted their way to oblivion. Oh the tragedy of that crush of little durasteel bodies, the cacophonous rush of energy weapons. Skittish and spooked, the surviving mouse droids scattered every which way: corridors, maintenance shafts, ventilation systems, dead ends that proved aptly named.

A couple of large, robed, metal-clad figures with crimson lightsabers charged in the mouse droids’ wake. As particle beams struck those lightsabers, energy flares scorched their armor and set fire to their black robes. Nevertheless, they persisted down the wide service corridor where the stealth ship had breached.

Behind them, the Sekairo’s armored hatch closed, and a grinding sound, a vibration, penetrated the durable hullmetal.
