"We aren't here seeking any fights, understood Kuhbee? We want this protest of the new governor to go as peacefully as it can." Lily stated, a reminder for herself as well as the Padawan that was accompanying her for the mission.

Kor Vella was in a volatile position and Lily knew that the imperials were all too happy to use a heavy hand in dealing with those who protest and reject oppressive rule. It was something that had classically happened throughout history, something that continued to happen to this day. It was her duty to ensure that the people involved with this event were safe and that things were allowed to proceed without incident.

"So, we need to expect there to be imperial presence, likely in the form of stormtroopers. Keep an eye on them, make sure that they don't attack or get too aggressive with the protestors. There won't be much need to shift things from a peaceful protest into a so-called riot to then a massacre." Lily stated as she looked over to Kuhbee. Giving a small smile as she truly hoped that things would end up going smoothly.

Walking from the ship, Lily led the way through the streets of the city towards the crowd was suppose to be gathering to begin their protests. Lily bundled her hair into a ponytail, she was not hiding her presence as a Jedi, nor did she feel like she had to. In fact, dressing in civilian attire could end up causing more issues. She was simply here as a Jedi and aiming to protect those that she could within the galaxy.

THE IMPERIAL TREASURER
AGGADEEN IN THE GALACTIC EMPIRE vol. I
Issue #6 w/ Redak Boyd Redak Boyd Aurelian Veruna Aurelian Veruna Dominique Vexx Dominique Vexx

Aggadeen listened to the transmissions from Aurelian Veruna Aurelian Veruna then Dominique Vexx Dominique Vexx , maintaining a firm expression on his rather weary face. Many a night had been spent awake on Coruscant planning the next expansion of the Imperial State along with the Ruling Council and dealing with the corporations who were expecting a large return on their investment.

Clearing his mind of such thoughts was the simple part, but paying attention to the Chancellor proved challenging, as she spoke with the cadence of a seasoned politician, filled with gentle phrases like misunderstanding, coexists, and stability. If she genuinely sought peace between them, the most effective approach would be to fully submit to the Galactic Emperor and accept imprisonment for heading an unrecognized government.

However, he was skeptical that the High Republic would agree to such an ultimatum, even if he considered it reasonable. The "Commander" comment was clearly a strategy aimed at compelling the Imperial Delegation to disclose their titles and roles, which would provide crucial information for any intelligence efforts.

There was no assurance that this discussion wasn't being documented for home consumption. He glanced briefly at Redak Boyd Redak Boyd for any semblance of a reaction before turning his attention to the holocomm system. His light green uniform with full-rank showing clearly in the holographic transmissions.

"I regret to let you down, High Chancellor Vexx. You are likely accustomed to being addressed by lower-ranking individuals like Commanders in the Republic. Yet, you will soon realize that a member of the Imperial Ruling Council stands before you..." He spoke, his voice adopting a cool baritone that reasserted the authority she had attempted to undermine. Despite his earlier reluctance, the sooner she realized that a member of the Inner Circle was present on the flagship the better the terms would be when they eventually backed down from this confrontation.

"Let us put aside the pretense of misunderstandings, Chancellor. The Galactic Empire does not function on confusion. Our presence here is a matter of established sovereign right, as Corellia is an Imperial Planet, and the distress you mention is simply the result of a populace adjusting to the principles of Imperial Rule." He stepped closer to the projector, his shadow lengthening across the bridge floor. The gold accents on his Novatroopers armor shimmered behind him, a silent reminder of the steel backing his words.

"You mention an invitation. The Empire does not require invitations to secure its own territories, nor do we recognize the validity of requests made to foreign powers by local administrators who lack the standing to bypass the Ruling Council's decrees. As for your concerns regarding duress, the only threat to Corellian stability at this moment is the presence of a Republic fleet making aggressive maneuvers near an Imperial cordon."

He paused, letting the weight of the word aggressive hang in the vacuum between their ships.

She entered the bridge and saw a welcomed sight at least. Breathing out a breath she didn't know she was holding as she walked forward. Mostly finding a place there but off to the side to not be in the way so that she would be able to observe and give feedback or input if requested. Her mind was looking to take in as much as she could while Dominique was talking about the request from the government below... Then the message from Sibylla Abrantes Sibylla Abrantes came and she was having a few memories from when they faced an empire on Mimban... well the Republic... older Republic. This was going to be confusing but her bodyguard met a girlfriend out of it and it was the last time she really was asked to preform any force master duties.

She listened for a moment but spoke softly to not be overhead on the com channel. "If we need to escort, we have the transport I took from Denon. It can hold a large amount of people for evacuation and is low profile." She said it but was thinking more about how she had been hoping to not have major events happening when she first came back. 'I was looking forward to paperwork... hiring staff... finding some quaint eatery no one knows about.' She said it to herself as the man was speaking finally and he sounded like her father on Coruscant growing up. She resisted the urge to peak out and look to make sure it wasn't him for a moment but was keeping her voice quiet now. It was time to let them talk and act as support.

"Have you coordinated with the protestors on Kor Vella? If things turn dangerous and the imperial fist hits any harder there then people will need to be evacuated or smuggled off world." Cynan stated as his fingers twirled around one of the many rings on his fingers. Tensions were spiking with the Galactic Empire. He breathed in deeply attempting to quell the growing anxieties since trying to organise the support for these people who desired independence and liberty was a dangerous game to play.

"Yes milord, we have also contacted several small time smugglers who stated that they were happy to work with the suggested payments that you were offering as well." One of the trusted guards spoke quietly to Cynan as he made his way to where others were having their discussion with the Galactic Empire while both sides hovered over Corellia, making the whole idea of invasion being very much on the forefront of Cynan's mind.

He could fight but he was not a warrior ready for invasion scaled conflict.

"Good, head back and attempt to coordinate using our encryption to shift aid also towards Corellia. Things could turn just as sour here." Cynan stated, watching the guard nod his head to Cynan then move back down the hallway.

Entering, Cynan heard the speech being given by the imperial commander on how this was their planet by imperial rule and that any other statements were completely false and completely outrageous to suggest. Cynan sighed, "I don't suppose suggesting that we don't recognise imperial rule or saying that Corellia is ours by republican rule would go down well?" A small joke to whoever was standing next to him as he did not wish to speak too loudly to disturb the meeting nor allow the imperial to overhear him.

"Does sound like they are seeing what they want, claiming it is already theirs and ignoring the desires and wishes of the populace. No different to the situation on Kor Vella." Cynan mentioned, curious to see how their trusted leaders would respond to this developing situation.

"Time is the fire in which we burn."

Master San Tekka sat in uneasy meditation aboard the bridge of a Starhawk that had seen better days. Entire decks were exposed to space like grisly scars of forgotten battles. She drifted in formation with the rest of the delegation from Hosnian Prime. He clutched a broken lightsaber in his hands and contemplated the cost of victory.

His second triumph on Atrisia tasted like ash in the Jedi's mouth. Now the Imperial shadow loomed over Corellia once more. Star destroyers cut daggers of purest black in the viewport's starfield. There were no more grand armies to march at his back. Republic officers did not heed his commands. Sometimes Zark questioned the will of the Force.

"Please send a transmission with my personal chaincode. Inform the King of Naboo that I am at his and the Chancellor's service."

The Empire might intercept his location but the survivors of his old order now walked a hidden path and San Tekka learned much about the way of shadow in the Edo Mountains. It was an old Jedi tradition to vanish like smoke during dark times only to rise again sometimes generations later just like ancient tales of the starbird reborn in novas with hearts of kyber.

All contact with the Green Jedi had been lost and that troubled him. Temples burned across the Core Worlds. Zark stared at the relic hilt in his hands and imagined the ways he might reforge it to focus his tired old mind. One of the fallen order's T6 shuttles was fueled up and ready to transport him wherever he might need to go.

Aurelian barely reacted to the Imperial councilor's answer on the open channel. The authority in the man's voice was practiced, heavy with certainty. Inner Circle. Of course it was. He felt the familiar itch between his shoulders, the urge to lean forward and cut back. Instead, he stayed still. Let Dominique Vexx Dominique Vexx handle the blade. He would watch the wound.

A chime pulsed at his console. Aurelian turned and caught the private transmission before it could draw attention. Sibylla Abrantes Sibylla Abrantes 's face flickered into being, strained, controlled. Riot. Governor confirmed. ISB everywhere. Possible extraction. By the time it ended, his jaw had set hard.

He waved Elian Abrantes Elian Abrantes closer and pulled the message onto a side display. "She's in Kor Vella," he said quietly. "It's turning fast." He met Elian's eyes. "Can you arrange transport if she needs it. Quiet. Fast. See if you can reach Senator Pryce too. If this goes wrong, I don't want her trapped planetside."

Aurelian exhaled through his nose and turned back toward the holoprojector. The Imperial councilor was still there, posture stiff, Novatroopers glinting behind him. All certainty, no doubt. Dangerous kind. He wondered how many planets that confidence had broken.

Ayumi Pallopides Ayumi Pallopides 's arrival drew his attention. Denon's new senator, already thinking in contingencies. When she mentioned her transport, Aurelian pivoted toward her. "Good timing," he said. "Coordinate with my Kingsguard. If we need lift from the surface, I want it ready before anyone admits we do."

The bridge filled quickly after that. Cynan Obaith Cynan Obaith 's voice drifted in with a dry comment about recognizing Imperial rule. Aurelian caught it and couldn't help the brief smile that tugged at his mouth. He masked it a moment later, glancing toward the holoprojector. The councilor would not enjoy jokes. He might even parade more troopers into view out of spite. Predictable.

Another alert blinked. A Jedi transmission, Zark San Tekka Zark San Tekka . That gave him pause. Aurelian read it once, then again, fingers tapping lightly against the console. Old orders, tired ghosts, but still useful when things burned.

He sent a reply.

They were on a knife's edge. This could turn violent without warning. He was sending someone down to prepare evacuations if needed. There were reports that Senator Pryce and the Corellian Confederation could use help as well as the scene turning in Kor Vella as well. He added, almost as an aside, that they could use three of him. Then left the choice where it belonged.

The Corellians were discreetly hauled off, and any witnesses as well. Cameras destroyed. Data discs taken. Audio scrubbed. The works. The Stormtroopers put doors back, hauled off bodies, and covered up scorch marks. Casings from slugthrowers picked up. His communicator bleeped at him from his pocket. He held up his wrist, the encoded message instructing his troops for a new mission.

He turned to one of his Sergeants.

"мσυηт υρ."

He turned his head, watching the transports fly in, side-by-side. Rapid pickup for a rapid redeployment. As his troops shuttled in, Sid removed his helmet and gathered his Sergeants.

"The enemy has gathered for a demonstration and have cowardly used civilians as shields and as tools of their oppression. Our job is to deter any threat to the Empire and to the stabilization of this world. This place will have security, this place will have order, and this place will have the shadow of the Empire over it. Do not be needlessly aggressive, do not allow your troops to be baited into conflict, they are mostly unarmed civilians. However, if they determine that their lives are so worthless that they might try the might of the Empire-"

A pause, as he slid his helmet back on.

"ѕнσω ησ мєя¢у."

His troops shuttled out towards the demonstration.

The transports arrived over the crowd, a steady hum of engine roar and wash. The Stormtroopers fanned out, after identifying potential agitators in the crowd. The Jedi was notably targeted, spotted easily from the air. One transport was left patrolling the sky, hovering over the Stormtrooper positions.

Just as the Jedi predicted, the Imperial Elite, a mix of Deathtroopers, Stormtroopers and regular troops met the protestors approaching Imperial positions and counter-protestors. They were silent, well-disciplined and well-drilled. Sid stood behind his troops, watching to and fro from their line. Communications happened silently within sealed helmets, invoking a silence. But call-outs, positioning, ammo distribution, target identifiers- it all happened on a scale akin to a machine in a factory. Ruthless, precise, and without ceasing.

The Stormtroopers were here to establish order, and their presence alone was enough to deter threats to them. If any violence or aggression was to come, it was not from them. They simply stood, waited. Not a word uttered. Not an aggressive stance taken.
