It was not surprising that nothing worked in this place. In fact, it would have been surprising if something had worked and would be online. But in their current form, they couldn’t really do anything. It took a physical shape to be able to, that is, in their case, it means a host. And in this place there were mostly only rats like this. And if they possessed a rat, it wouldn't be really good here. So they were left with the observer role, and then maybe they would come back with a normal host one day.

As they made their way in, they could still feel from under the ground something that was there and asleep. However, they also began to feel again the person whose arrival they also felt. Dis felt they were moving in one direction. And they weren't necessarily happy about that, but they were reassured that they were both probably present in this place for the same reason. In any case, they tried to be careful, as the something they felt was a strong presence in the Force, and it was difficult for them to defend themselves against such creatures.

So they had to finally head in their direction. They were still hiding their presence and they were invisible. They didn’t dare show up until they were sure the other didn’t want to hurt them. That's the only way they could survive for sure. So they soon arrived near Sasmay. Although the Force was not very reliable here, the Shadowcat was able to partly see in the Force , not just with their own eyes. They've seen a similar creature before.

So when they got close enough to her and had already seen her, she was telepathically addressed.

~ Are you looking for that, what it could be felt from the depths? What are your plans with it? ~ they asked her.

They knew the answer could explain a lot of things.

Objective I
Post I
"Long Ago..."

The quiet emptiness of space, the silence that it always protrudes in the wake of possible destruction all around it. Sides preparing for war, everyone becoming on edge every second of their life. The clock slowly ticks down to possible disaster with a planet full of hate and strife. Negotiations were needed to keep people from dying, to find a peaceful alternative in a Galaxy that seems to never end in warfare, of constant fighting. Out in the regions of space, there were horrors possibly even left unseen, things far more dangerous than the Bryn'adul...though it was the nature of all people, that made it even more dangerous to see themselves in the mirror. There was little time left...so little.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Starfighters patrolling near the blockade would start to receive hyperspace warnings as one star destroyer class was soon going to be departing from hyperspace. Those with the Eternal Empire would take note the transponder codes did not match up with the Elysium Empire...those within the Elysium Empire realized the codes did not match up with the Eternal Empire either. Each codes given were old, as if given before and were only matching to a select few. Slowly, space started to ripple on the outer edge of the blockade as the star destroyer came out of hyperspace, purposely it seems, on Hyperdrive Speed Ten.

Small clouds formed onto each side as several arcs of electricity formed around the vessel itself. A vessel of unknown type, something not seen before that seemed rather alien in architecture. The tunnel it went through closed behind itself as it merely floated in space, almost like a ghost has been seen in space itself. There was a rather strange communications babble before it went silent with the transponder translating to Basic. The ships transponders only read the name as "Alexander" for a name, the communications frequency went onto all open channels in the area.

"This is the Alexander, we are here to bring delegation for the peacekeeping meeting. Withhold fire, any attempts to open fire upon this vessel or the shuttle will be destroyed. This is your only warning, the Prince of Altiria/Anarris will be departing soon."

There was then a communications blackout on that note, the starship Alexander going silent as a singular shuttlecraft would soon depart from the large alien vessel. Most materials on normal scan would be common save for one material, an unknown type as it seemed to be a material of unknown origin made of soft ore composition in the middle layer. As the shuttlecraft approached, it would announce that it was going to dock on the EMS Retribution and would do so, not taking a single no for an answer. Once it delegated its landing procedures, it took a few moments to land before touching down with a loud hiss.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Regardless of the outcome, word was going to soon quickly spread that the Prince has come back to life apparently, possibly to the shock of others, most notably due to how a majority of walker designs came from Callum Saville himself, the creator of the Armored Walkers. Word would spread like wildfire among even the Eternal Empires men, some having known the mercenary company for being hired briefly to assist the Empress several years ago before his eventual capture and death at the hands of the Brotherhood of the Maw. The main question remains is, why is he here now after so many years gone?

<"Despot Ström. Overseer Harris.”>

The short-statured Baroness emerged as if from thin air, while the two humans walked through the Retribution’s passageways en route to the negotiation room, almost ambushing them. Nevertheless, Ivixa delivered a sharp Eternal salute, her intense, golden gaze taking in everything from the subtle cues of their body language to the press of their uniforms—immaculate, as always.

Then, she smiled.

<"This promises to be a lively affair, yes?”> Ivixa said as she walked alongside the taller officials. <"I expect that we’ve all been briefed on the situation.”> She continued. <"I have little reason to doubt our ability to achieve something of note through these negotiations, but by the same token, we are entering…uncharted territory. No doubt, the Elysium Empire will prove to be quite the lion. But I admit…the Empress’ absence concerns me more than the Elysiums, even if only slightly.”> The Asa’nyx finished.

Indeed, it was unlike the Empress to leave such vital affairs to her overseers, diplomats, and barons. Something was keeping her from partaking in the negotiations. Of what, Ivixa could not begin to guess, but a part of her wanted to find out, even if such information might be above her station.

<"Are we ready, Lords and Ladies?> Ivixa asked, once the delegation reached the entrance to the negotiation room. Then, upon receiving an affirmation, the doors slid open and Ivixa stepped inside to take her place at the table.

Not long after, the Elysium delegation began to trickle into the room, and soon, the negotiations were underway.

"Well besides the maps, you've gotta use your instincts. Sometimes it's better to react than to think too much about it."

Lori took another forkful of her breakfast, chewing it down as she figured out any other way of giving Jason Arnett and his gang some confidence. They lacked experience, yet one didn't gain experience by not putting themselves out there. "I can always have Arla take the pilot's seat for one of you if you'd like. Unless you boys think you can handle it?" She smirked at Jason. How many of them didn't want to lose out to girls?

Pamarthe was a good place for training. And if either of them won this race, then she'd be sure to have Jason and his gang do their training here. They'd need it if they were to go into battle and fly against the likes of Star Destroyers. No doubt they'd be needed in the future.

The final panel pushed into place, she was spread across the door, hands placed in far reaching points with a foot against one corner and her shoulder pressed into another when the telepathic voice drew her attention. She hadn't realized she was not alone, the sound of gears and other means of security began to work as she pressed away from the door to turn around.

Her eyes squinted, not yet seeing anything but still feeling the line of mental communication open between herself and whatever was present.

<To learn. To find what has been lost to time. Expand my horizons and maybe help were I can. What about yourself?> While she didn't enjoy being at such a disadvantage in the way of her senses, there wasn't a larger presence here than herself, and she was still becoming aware of how imposing she might appear.

<I am sorry if I scare you. This form is easiest for such endeavors.> The door behind her slowly opened, her form twisting round before looking around once more.

<Shall we?>

Dis waited for the time being to get a response from the strangely looking Force Entity. In the meantime, they watched, but there wasn't much. If they wanted more, they would have had to go further. But it took answers first to know they were safe. Without it, they didn’t really want to, or just didn't dare to go on. They thought it was better for them to be able to talk about everything now than to run into some trouble when they found what was here.

And that usually meant fighting. And they really didn't want that. They couldn't have just defended themselves.

The answers have not been very convincing for the Shadowcat yet; though it was more pleasant in any case than if the girl had told them she wanted to grave-robbing the place. However, the learning was so positive for them.

~ To learn, and to learn as much as we can about the past. I am an explorer and an archaeologist. I research and study the secrets of the past. ~ they told her.

And observer; but they did not say so. Most of the Shadow was just an observer and did not interfere in Realspace's affairs. In this, Dis was very similar to them, as was Kal Kal . Or at least, the last time they spoke, that was the case with their Shadow peer.

They appeared after that, still in immaterial form, but they were already visible. A lynx-sized cat made up from shadows, with huge white eyes. They hovered over the ground; as they walked it was also above the ground, their feet did not reach the ground.

~ I can't affect the world without a host, so I'll follow you.~ they promised, as they poked their heads in the direction of the door.

In short order, the Elysium Empire’s forces would arrive in the system - a channel of communication opening between the two flagships almost immediately upon their arrival. Ström would emerge from his repose to make his way to the meeting chamber. While en route, he would be intercepted by the newly appointed Overseer Trinity Harris. Ström gave her a courteous greeting, but indicated he did not wish to dally, and instead carry on their discussion while en-motion. He listened as she expressed her hopes for the coming summit, to which he merely nodded. His face was a mask of... nothing. After a lifetime in politics, the Baron had become quite accustomed to masking his emotions, despite harboring very pronounced opinions over the myriad of stately matters that fell under or within his purview.

The appointment of Overseer Harris was no exception. In his view, she was nothing but an upjumped scientist who was vastly outside of her depth. Her presence here, to him, was completely superfluous and gratuitous. He suspected it was merely to placate her incessant need to place herself within the Empress’s good graces, or to demonstrate her relevance in matters of state. He had no qualms over her scientific mastery, truth be told. But sticking her nose in Galactic Politics? Oh how far the Empire had fallen...

Even still, he was not one to speak out of turn. He kept his tone even, with a touch of cordiality as he spoke:
”Welcome aboard, Overseer. You shall be granted every courtesy, and I’m sure your... insights will be most valuable during this delicate situation.” As they moved along the corridor, they would be ‘ambushed’ by yet another person - a blue skinned sentient who seemingly materialized from the shadows.

The Baron was someone who prided himself on knowing exactly what was going on in his immediate vicinity - the ship he was aboard being no exception. He did not know this individual very well - merely that she was an attache’ from the secretive Imperial Intelligence agency known as ‘Blackwatch’, and was the enigmatic Baroness of Anthan Prime. Her security clearance permitted her presence here, despite the unease in which it brokered within him. Her comment regarding the Empress’s absence struck a chord in him, but not in the same manner.

Previously, he assumed her absence was moreso a reflection over her trust in him, rather than a point of concern. This agent’s misgivings regarding the absence of their head of state was not lost upon him, but he kept his reservations to himself.
”Her Majesty has granted me the full authority to represent the Empire’s interests at this summit. The situation is well in hand, I assure you.” His tone remained even and as neutral as it had been when he addressed Trinity. At that, he continued along - with his companions likely in step behind him.

acIF3fa.png

Meanwhile...

As the Eternal Empire’s delegation made their way to the meeting room, the Elysium Empire’s representatives would be met with a small escort of the ship’s command staff, and a troupe of armed guards. Despite the attempt of Rex Valhoun’s bodyguards to take up the ‘rear’ of the procession, another squad would fall in step behind them. Although the outward display of force would be expected, and could be seen as a sign of respect and security - the underlying message was also clear.

The Lion was in the Den of another apex predator within the galaxy, with its far-reaching claws primed to sink themselves deep should the need arise. In short order, the party would be escorted to the meeting room entrance, but would be kept there rather than permitted direct entry.

The entrance to the meeting room would be guarded by a small squad of Ultranaut marines in full kit, holding the Elysium delegation at bay outside for what seemed to be half an hour or so as the Eternal Empire’s representatives entered into the room from a secret rear entrance. Baron Ström would seat himself upon a large chair situated at the head of a very long table, and would thereafter extend his hands to the two seats next to him on either side of the long-side of the table for the two women in his company.

After the trio situated themselves at the table, the Baron would give a nod to a guard at the door, who would tap their helmet and indicate for the exterior guards to allow for the Elysium delegation to enter. Overseer Ström would observe in silence as the foreign Monarch would take his seat at the table, at the direct opposing side from him. As Rex inquired after whether the presence of his guards would be an issue, Reinhardt was quick to respond:
”Rest assured, Your Majesty; they pose no danger to us.”

Although Ström’s tone was reminiscent of the neutrality it possessed when he had addressed his companions minutes earlier in the ship’s passageways, it carried an icy tone as he addressed King Valhoun - the faint smile lining his lips doing little to thaw its frost. Upon mention of the remainder of the Elysium fleet’s arrival, Ström merely nodded - opting to say nothing else regarding the matter. He trusted Commodore Praxxis to maintain control over the situation, and that he would be informed should something else develop.

After a momentary pause, the Baron spoke again - opting to address the proverbial elephant in the room:
”I hope you will accept my Empress’s deepest apologies for her absence. She is otherwise occupied in equally pressing matters of state, and has entrusted me to represent her interests moving forward in this meeting. I speak with her voice.”

“I am Baron Reinhardt Ström - Overseer of Imperial Strategic Command.”

He extended a hand to Trinity, and continued: ”This is Overseer Trinity Harris - Overseer of The Imperial Science and Research Administration.”

“And this - this is Baroness Ivixa Nera’kas, of Anthan Prime.”

He paused momentarily to allow for his companions to make whatever greetings they wished, using the opportunity to size up the man before him. He knew little of Rex Valhoun aside from his position as Monarch of the Elysium Empire, and that like his own Empress - he had instituted major reforms to transition the Elysium Empire from its previous policy of isolationism, to that of becoming a figure on the galactic stage.

Not necessarily a big figure - for if intelligence reports could be believed, they had only recently begun revamping their military. Ström was unsure who their perceived threat was, but in any case, he was not overly concerned. The Elysiums did not carry the same martial prowess as that of the New Imperial Order, or even that of the Galactic Alliance.

Even still, Ström knew well that to underestimate the man across from him would be a most grave mistake. Based on pure intuition, Ström knew well that a man such as Valhoun who was able to consolidate the amount of influence he currently held so as to effect such drastic reforms was a man one could not discount in any form or fashion.

All the more reason for Ström to avoid playing his hand too early.

”Well, Your Majesty - I believe it was your delegation that opted to interrupt our maneuvers here, and to insist on meeting with us. So please---”

Before the Baron could finish his statement, a man wearing the uniform of a Lieutenant Commander strode up with purpose to the Overseer’s side, and began to whisper in his ear: ”My Lord, we have a situation.”

Ström’s expression betrayed nothing but a slight nod - indicating for the officer to continue his hushed report: ”Another ship has entered the system. Its transponder codes do not match either ours or the Elysium Empire’s, or really any major entity we know of. In fact it's... rather... antiquated. A shuttle has been launched, and they are demanding we receive their delegation.”

”Is Commodore Praxxis aware of this?” Ström responded in an equally hushed tone.

”Yes my lord, he was the one who sent me here to inform you. Do you have any guidance?”

For the first time since any of the people in this room had seen Ström on this day, he had taken a moment to carefully think about what he was going to say to this officer. Although their voices were too low to be properly heard by anyone at the table, it was clear it was of some matter of import. Finally, the Baron replied: ”Permit them to land, and ensure a security team is there to meet them. Have Commodore Praxxis greet them personally. If he judges it necessary, then he may have the delegates escorted here. Otherwise, he may deal with them as he sees fit.”

The officer gave Overseer Ström a slight bow, and left to relay the orders given to him. Ström’s demeanor remained stoic as ever as he addressed the delegates within the room: ”it appears that we have yet another party who wishes to join this delegation. Whatever game you are playing, I certainly hope you know what you are doing.” By the tone of Ström’s words, another first had occurred - his tone betrayed a slight level of surprise, as if whatever this disturbance was, was clearly beyond his knowledge. His eyebrow arched, as if expecting some reply from Rex Valhoun himself.

acIF3fa.png

The shuttle belonging to the Star Destroyer identified as ‘The Alexander’ would be flanked by an escort of (8) Haxor Interceptors, who flew in a tight formation flanking the shuttle. A comms officer aboard the Retribution would respond to the hail with a crisp, dutiful tone: ”Acknowledged, ‘Alexander’. We are relaying approach vector coordinates to your shuttlecraft now. But be warned - any deviation, and we will show no quarter.”

Whatever few within the Eternal Fleet may have felt any sense of ‘awe’ or astonishment at the arrival of this newcomer, significantly more would feel a sense of mockery at the hubris surrounding these unknown entities. The full might of the Eternal Fleet was arrayed around Belsavis, with several ships acquiring target locks upon the ‘Alexander’ per Eternal Fleet blockade protocol.

The shuttle would be escorted into docking bay #3, wherein a procession had been assembled to receive them. Commodore Varys Praxxis stood to receive them - his craggy-like demeanor standing as rigid as a statue flanked by easily two-score Ultranaut Marines, and what appeared to be a robed and armored member of the Wardens of the Shroud. As the landing craft entered into the safety of the hangar bay force field, they waited for the loading ramp to lower and the delegation inside to reveal themselves. Discipline would prevail amongst those present, with all soldiers keeping their rifles to the side in parade rest while the Commodore himself stared onward, his hands clutched behind his back.

Crawled through the stinking ventilation shaft of the spaceport. He had been present on the spaceport for nearly a week now gathering intelligence and hiding in plane sight from the forces of the Elysium Empire. He had barely eaten and the water that he had brought with him ran out two days ago. Needless to say he was tired and drained from the mission at hand. What was that mission? Find a way to the bridge when the Eternal empire arrived, eliminate the commanding officer and disable all weapons aboard the station. He had managed to get onto the spaceport by smuggling himself onto a ship bound for the spaceport before the blockade by the Eternal Empire began. He still didn't haven't a defined role in the great stratocratic empire that was lead by the Empress herself. Since his return he had found he had been serving in almost a consulting capacity, or in this case a specialized agent that was given a specific task to carry out. Currently his orders came through the chain of command at the Blackwatch Secret Police, however he was behaving as a foreign agent and was not enforcing the law. It was in this grey area that the Nighthaunter now found himself.

Why had he taken up this role one might ask? Well why not? Discordia was dead, Silencers eliminated, his old life gone. While he felt a sense that nothing he did in the galaxy mattered anymore, the lack of ties to anything or anyone did give him a unique sense of freedom. He was snapped out of his thoughts as he heard the sounds of running and gun shots echoing throughout the spaceport. He could only make the assumption that the Eternal Empire's forces had arrived. He sighed, they sure knew how to make an entrance.

He peered through one of the vent grills and looked down on the hallway, he could see the crew retreating and moving back towards the bridge. They were only lightly armed and clearly had some training as to what they were doing. However he knew that they would be no match for the heavily armed forces of the Eternal Empire storming the station. There was the small sound of metal scraping on metal as he removed the grill of the vent and simply dropped down like a cat in-between four spaceport crew members.

The next moments took place in slow motion as the square of men took a pause to realize what just happened. The moments pause was one to many for the poor crew members that had decided to walk past the Nighthaunter's nesting area. With a flick of the wrists his Silent Blades unsheathed themselves from their gauntlets and he quickly spun in a 360 degree motion arms out stretched as the blades slicing the jugulars of all the crewmen surrounding him. They stood there for a second as all senses left them, their eyes glazed over and collapsed in a square around him. They blood pooling on the floor around the dark figure. He looked back down the corridor as heard combat and what assumed were Eternal Empire troops approaching him.

The answer in return was welcome. Though she still had yet to see the being that spoke. Instead of trying to wear put her energies searching, she simply waited. Her arms crossed as she watched with a small nod to the words they spoke.

<Much can be learned from the past. It is time that is the enemy of all things. Paired with selfishness, a many great things can be lost. But there are those that wish to bury what they have made. Some for wiser reasons than selfishness.> She affirmed her suspicions as to the doors intricate lock. Those without patience had tried their hand at prying it open only to be rebuked. She had watched, listened, and been rewarded for her efforts.

A fact she did not let escape her as the one that spoke took a visible form.

And gave her the truest test of self control as her eyes fell upon a small being. The instinctive need to scoop it up and touch being pushed down with temperance and a large dose of humility. She would not wish for someone to lay hands upon her, in any fashion regardless of the state she took. But she kept the form in the back of her mind for another time as her nails bit into her forearm and commanded herself to move forward.

<Darkkoninn. It is a pleasure to be traveling with you. Do not be afraid to ask me to move. I take up a considerable space.> She offered before leading the way inside.

A corridor stretched down, a decline in the passage that went into the crust further than what they already had been. In her own mind, she wondered if this had been a holding cell, or a vault of artifacts for the sith. It would explain the presence that seemed to have lingered here at least.

<May I ask your...biology? I have not come across one such as yourself. Perhaps by chance or by purpose since I could not see you until you wished it so.>

Doors and doors passed them by as she slowly wandered down, some open and others barred shut. She would stop whenever the being wished to investigate though her own attentions remained further down yet still.

~ I know these are Rakata ruins, I'd try to open it with Force. They based everything on Force-based technology. ~ they told the girl.

They knew this could probably be the reason the Force was behaving so strangely here; it may be to prevent that sleeper from waking up or escaping. It occurred to them for a moment that maybe they shouldn't be here. They have been doing research like this for a very long time, and they have found a lot of various things. Although they did not often deal with these things, they handed over the findings to those who had greater proficiency in these than they did.

~ I know, I've been doing this for a long time. ~ they didn't even know how much time passed since then.

Due to the fact that time passes differently in the Netherworld, the Shadowcat had no idea how old they might be. They are much older than the time that has elapsed between their "birth" and the present. They did not know how much, they did not count; for them, it had no significance at all.

~ My name is Dis. ~ they introduced themselves.

The name, or rather the word, may have been familiar to the woman, since "dis" meant cat in Sith / ur-Kittât. It wasn’t very creative, but it perfectly fit for them. Even Kal's name actually meant "observer" in the same language. The Shadows weren’t the best at choosing a name for themselves. Or they were just choosing perfectly. It was a matter of point of view. When the size was mentioned by the entity, the Shadowcat tilted their heads.

~ I am immaterial, if necessary, I can go through you. ~ they said, blinking lazily in the meantime, like a real cat.

As they progressed and walked through the corridors, they were asked another question. They looked up at the girl, conveyed interesting feelings for a moment, and curious feelings to her before they spoke again.

~ I'm a Shadow from the Netherworld. Most of my species' members are only observers here in the world of mortals. Most of us are not fighters, neither am I, so yes, my hiding was intentional. Many at the Netherworld, and here at Realspace, want to hurt the weaker, more vulnerable. So I prefer to hide until I feel safe. Or I don’t know that the other one doesn’t want to hurt me. ~ they explained.

A few drawings, reliefs, or sculptures were the most interesting, so they stopped a few times, but not for long. They preferred to follow their new companion.

~ And what are you? I find you so strange in the Force. ~ they asked her.

It seemed that she had struck a chord.

<“Oh, there is no question regarding your ability to represent the Empire, Baron.”> Ivixa replied, attempting to amend her perceived error in potentially insulting the grizzled Field Marshal to his face. Woops! <“However, having spent much of my career working directly alongside Her Majesty, this absence is…unlike her.”> She continued. <”Surely, you might understand why one might feel some level…trepidation.”> The Asa’nyx clarified.

4TEqFAbJLpIZhWTX5epmScNYD4drI4HTRtAP0jawHvaLWVQO2j9InHrxKKIMtplZ7o4FGOO2ZkFbFX_OhUXp6zhFtRk422k-eGLiw4Ev3MNB6EUWEdJaU2QJoI1QEUK54QjVPsXUDMCm-AqU_A
The Elysium King was the first to speak.

In turn, the Baron’s answer to the man’s inquiry regarding the presence of his guards was as confident and brash as Ivixa had expected out of the grizzled general. It seemed that the Empire was in good hands indeed, in spite of the Empress’s absence. From there, Ivixa nodded upon being introduced, before beginning to speak on her own.

“To reiterate, all matters of security for these negotiations are firmly under control. That said, a perceived lack of clarity in communications might be among the least of our problems, seeing as we are actively engaging in such communications at present.” Ivixa began. “Now, as I understand it, the Elysium Empire has taken a special interest in Sarillia’s plight, correct? Might I ask, Mr. Valhoun, what did Sarillia tempt your…faction with in exchange for…oh, I don’t know, risking a Third Great Hyperspace War? We would hate to hear that she offered access to…say perhaps ancient Rakatan technology or Sith artifacts.” Ivixa stated coldly, yet with no shortage of passive irreverence in her high-pitched tone.

All the while, the Asa’nyx’s big ears perked up upon picking up the whispered conversation between Ström and his Lieutenant. Ivixa’s hearing had served her on more than one occasion in her work as a Blackwatch Agent, ensuring that there was very little that could ever escape her notice. They ensured that sneaking up on her was nigh-impossible, just as they had ensured that her ancestors would not be preyed upon by the great raptors that had existed on their now-uninhabitable home planet.

Rex responded to The man's ignorance of The Lion Knights' capabilities with a slight smile and chuckle of his own. It'd be his own funeral if he underestimated The Knights in combat. Of course Rex was aware of The Eternal Empire's own affinity for war. They were the best fighters in The Galaxy, comparable only to The Mandalorians. Perhaps it was Rex whom was underestimating his foe.

The man then apologized for The Empresses' absence, and introduced himself as Baron Ström, The Overseer of Imperial Strategic Command. Rex immediately straightened his posture, recognizing the man's name and title. While "King" was a higher title, Baron Ström was a very important man within The Eternal Empire, and he deserved respect. However Rex did not recognize the other names...a mistake on his part for not researching more than he did. There were just so many names to keep up with. The Empire alone had hundreds of important people, from senators, to Admirals and Generals, to mercenaries.

Then the woman introduced as Baroness Ivixa spoke up, first to reiterate that security was under control. Then to inquire about why The Empire was assisting The Imperator Sarillia. The lack of respect was evident, but as the woman would find out soon, it was mutual. If she felt that she could simply throw accusations with such a tone, then he would return the favor. He opened his mouth to respond....

"Baroness..."

....However before he could really begin to respond, The Baron was approached by a uniformed man. After a few hushed words, The Baron addressed the room, claiming another was enroute to join the talks. Rex frowned, unsure of who it may be. It appeared that The Baron was equally uncertain, which prompted The King to speak up. "Whomever this new guest is, I have no hand in their arrival. I reckon we should wait for them before beginning our talks, unless you're in a hurry of course..."

After the brief but formal exchange with Baron Reinhardt Ström Baron Reinhardt Ström , Overseer Harris continued down the corridor where they were both suprised by the diminutive but powerful figure of Ivixa Nera'kas Ivixa Nera'kas , a women that Trinity had had the opportunity to meet previously. "Baroness, thank you for joining us, your skills will prove valuable, particularly if these Elysium leader prove to be untrustworthy." there was always a chance, you would be rash to board a potentially hostile vessel unless you were confident of your ability to fight your way off, so having the famously skilled warrior in the form of the Baroness by her side gave her more confidence.

Eventually the party reached the Elysium delegation of Rex Valhoun Rex Valhoun and Ström introduced the party including her, to which Trinity replied "Its a pleasure to meet you King Valhoun, I have read much much about your Empire." She was curious what developments the Elysiums had made, far from the Eternal Empire, different political and social structures made for interesting divergences in technology. The Empire had always impressed her how advanced they were scientifically, but she was certain there was always more to learn, you just have to look under the right rock.

The blue woman spoke again, almost taunting the King, and he spoke back to her with little respect either, clearly convinced that even here, he was still a king and beyond reproach. As Ström was interrupted, Trinity, due to her own rank, received a similar notification of the tactical situation via her biochip, it was not a matter that required her direct involvement, but it was useful information. She checked what clearance it had been set at and relayed the appropriate information to Ivixa's data slate too, if she was not already flagged to be notified. This new chip was much better and much faster than her old one and the review tool mere seconds whilst she still listened to Ivixa speaking, Trinity had to supress the urge for slight mirth when Ivixa completely ignored his diplomatic title and referred to him as Mr. Valhoun, not really proper for a diplomatic situation, but not unwarranted.

"I too would be very curious what the citizens down below have been offering to you to bring you all this way."

The man made denials about the new arrivals, Trinity was reluctant to believe that he had no knowledge at all of a competent unrelated party wishing to interfere with the delegations. "Its quite the coincidence that two completely unrelated visitors would show up to interfere with our exercises, don't you think, King Valhoun?"

The Rakata had always been a race of intrigue and ideologies. And their use of the force to produce, develop, and hide their creations had always been a point of contention if what she could recall from memory was correct.

Both dark and light had fought for those possessions with vehemence and sought to control whatever had surfaced of the ancient races technologies.

<The Rakata always had a knack for putting their creations just out of a normal beings reach. Though the force is not arbitrary as to who may access it usually from their hands. Light or dark tended to matter very little in their eyes if memory serves. Save for in the matter of conflict.> She looked to the other when they introduced themselves. A name fitting for their semi-physical form. A bit tongue in cheek but that mattered little when she didn't have to call them being or something more crude to catch their attention.

The mention of passing through her however brought about a question.

<You have passed through others before? Or merely something that is known among your species? That is an interesting ability though I imagine with some drawbacks.> Came the observation as she scanned the hallway leading down. While it wasn't truly dark for either of them, their was a shadow that seemed to grow deeper as they walked.

Sasmay lingered when Dis did, observing the details of what they passed by if only to glean some understanding of what had come before. The mention of violence was almost met with promises and assurances. Likely things Dis had heard plenty of times over and found to hold nothing more than hollow words.

<I hope that you enjoy your time in my company then.> After a time, they drew closer to the source of that strange feeling, though it was blended with something else. As though some remnant of the Rakata was attempting to still hide that presence. Or perhaps whatever was slumbering was failing to maintain its hidden presence.

The question of her own biology had her glancing to her companion. The shine of her eyes narrowing at the wide smile she gave.

<I have traveled to a far and forgotten planet. Drank from a well of power, swam in a pool of knowledge and been remade. Once a mortal being, now existing as what some might label a god. I prefer less lofty titles. I am a force imbued entity. Or something to that effect. I don't believe myself a god nor do I want to. Not with what I have seen of those proclaiming themselves as such.> Bitter were the words that left her mouth.

"Yes, I agree it is quite..." Coincidence wasn't the right word, "...strange. I'm sure security has it handled." Between his own security and the security of the ship, there was little threat from another uninvited guest. However the fact remained that it was quite strange, and he was clueless as to who this guest may be. He would need to be prepared for anything. Hopefully this wouldn't hurt the negotiations. He cycled through potential Imperials that could be showing up. Maybe Admiral Burtch or Keatoch? No...they were too professional to show up like this. Loreena? She wasn't here, she was on Pamarthe with Jason. No, he was certain this guest would not be one of his people.

Rex still thought it was best to wait before beginning these discussions, but given that nobody knew who this guest would be, he chose to answer the question that had now been asked by two different people. "The citizens and leadership of Belsavis have offered us very little. However as you know, The Elysium Empire is a beacon of freedom to the galaxy. Planets in our domain have very high autonomy economically, militarily, and administratively. When The Imperator asked us for aid, we were glad to accept."

"Hostilities"

The shuttle ride was taking a rather long time, he felt himself pondering over the decisions that had laid to this very moment in the last few years. Touching his hands together, he kept hearing the reports flood in from the Alexander, how the entire fleet has decided to lay their weapons targeting on that ship. Starfighters were swarming around one of his new flagships, threatening it with each pass. This felt rather...hostile. The Prince remained calm however as they were soon given access to land, yet something happened as his eyes opened to reveal the bright blue shine of his eyes.

"We are leaving."
"Prince?"
"I said we are leaving, give the order for the Alexander to jump."
"But Prince, we ha-"
"I don't care over the plan, they want to give hostilities towards my vessel, I will not be part of this. Start the Path Engines, set course to the outer section of this system. My mind is now made up on the Eternal Empire, even a simple extension of peace, they slap it. Don't send a message towards the pair, I have deemed this...unnecessary, unwinnable and beyond all else, incompetence on all levels. Inform others of Protocol Four among all Court of Blade forces once we are jumping. Shuttlewise, blind jump forward."

The four guards watched him before giving a small nod, the pilot would tap the console as the hyperdrive sped up before opening a rift quite like the Alexanders and went through it rather quickly, possibly taking a rear laser cannon hit in the rear before exiting through. The Alexander would soon do the same, a rift opening up as it took much longer...but not before an entire datastream was broadcast down onto the planet, a relay being bounced onto Elyisum Empire shuttles...in particular, the AW-TS and with it, Protocol Four.

"Unworthy"

"Control, we have one of the targets, codenamed Crystal Snake, we are boarding him onto the VTOL and departing. Confirmation on safe ground?"
"Roger Alpha-Two, safe ground. Return to Base Alpha. We are receiving new orders, standby...Protocol Four. Commence Firestorm Operations."
"Roger Control, Crystal Snake status?"
"Release, no longer mission perimeters."

Around major cities, small towns and hideaways of those around Belsavis, most would never have noticed any form of forces of the Court of Blades on planet working for Elysium Empire operations. As one of the VTOLs of theirs flew over one of the major cities, an individual was thrown out through the back in-flight, the individual plummeting to his death. A figure that was supposed to be sensitive in nature to the Elysium Empire, but no longer held priority towards the Court of Blades. Similar incidents would start to happen as various forces that were deployed, opened fire on Elysium Empire operatives, as well as those that they were supposed to protect. While their objectives of survival were at this point, nil and void practically, Protocol Four is used for only one reason.

Inciting a Riot.

Across the region they were in, atmospheric VTOLs and ground forces would immediately engage any and all forces, destroying surface-to-air missile emplacements while ground forces went towards known intelligence locations of political leaders, tactical generals on all sides but primarily those associated with the government currently on Belsavis. They want to incite an upheaval, an entire riot that would destabilize the region they were in and create a ripple effect. As forces were moving into areas, destroying any buildings they encounter as well as resistance forces from any side, they did not hide what they were doing. Information would start being spread like wildfire over events, possibly blaming one over the other, most importantly, those that are supposed to be under the employ of the Elysium Empire.

~ Yes, if I remember correctly what I read, everyone was held in slavery. They had some Force Hounds; the unfortunate souls who were strong enough in the Force to survive and serve them and helped them to find and conquer new worlds. ~ they told her.

If you remember correctly, one such Force Hound played a role in the Infinite Empire's eventual defeat by the Je'daii Order at Tython. Exactly where Maw finally wanted to attack now. Probably for exactly the same reason.

~ I remember they were usually Darksiders. ~ they said.

Dis chuckled a little, it was always fun. In fact, this "passed through " is also part of possessing someone. They pass through the body and stop inside it. It is less drastic and traumatic than how the Sith souls do. They always asked permission from others to do so and they always sought a symbiotic relationship. They have never modified or erased the minds of others. Many Shadows have done so, even Kal, but the Shadowcat haven’t. They have always been pacifists and have respected life and free will.

~ Rather, others went through me while I was invisible. ~ they said.

It wasn’t conspicuous or palpable to anyone, maybe the stronger Force users felt something, but it wasn’t really typical. They avoided them, because their aura was much brighter.

~ Yes, without a host, I can’t influence Realspace. I can do some little tricks with Force, but I can't touch objects, for example. And my strength is not very great in the Force. I didn’t feel the need to improve my skills, only the ones I found useful. ~ they explained.

Yes, they, too, felt that something's presence got better and better as they approached. The systems were still not turned on and the place was deserted. Most things were offline and even the security measures didn’t work. They are not surprised, nothing lasts forever. On the girl's response they tilted their head.

~ Interesting. Gods do not exist, only powerful Force Entities. Mortals may consider them gods, but they are not. Even my breed considers the species of Realspace mortal because they don’t live long, but there are no gods and we are no gods either. Those who expect this or call themselves as deities, they even less deserve this title. ~ they shared their own opinion.

Meanwhile, they also arrived at the end of their way, a huge and thick stone door blocking their way. At this point, the Force was definitely barely perceptible, but the energy of that something or something was over there.

~ How do we go through this? ~ they asked her.

The Battalion rampaged through the Military Base, light red blade swatting aside blaster bolts, as the purple flames that exited her mouth occasionally burning through tough armor as well as causing Dark Side Driven despair. She felt the rush, the thrill of combat and reveled in it.

She was arguably more of a Brute than even Xiphos herself was. Her exuberance grew with each severed limb, each burned alive body. She knew Xiphos could feel it through their bond...feel the joy she felt in killing these people. But she would have felt joy in killing almost anyone. Such was the nature of a Brain Demon Cultist.

The Battalion used Force Flight to evade a man firing a rotary blaster at her, zipping through swarms of blue bolts to bear down with a vengeance on the shooter, hacking him apart sadistically.

A blast from a double barrel shotgun sent her flying, taking out part of her ribcage, white chunks of blood and muscle burning into the ground as it impacted at an astonishing rate, eating a hole into the earth.

The Battalion snarled in rage, self correcting with the Force in mid air--and got blasted the Feth back again which blasted a massive hole into the left front of her Torso and sent her flying, slamming into the side of the barracks.

The man holding the Lupara, a barrel chested man with a gritty reboot type of gray beard, though it was still magnificent, wearing this black combat power armor, one of his arms, along with an eye that was cybernetic.

The Battalion staggered up, the white blood hitting the ground as well as burning a hole into the barracks themselves, and she dived in.

Howard tossed a Class A Thermal Detonator into the Barracks, yelling for everyone to hit the deck.

The Barracks absolutely exploded, sending shrapnel flying everywhere. The Battalion barely escaped the blast with Force Flight, though she lost the arm holding the Lightsaber, which was torn off by the blast. She fled into another section of the base, being chased by soldiers all the while. Her suit's enchantments were already hard at work fixing the damage but she had nonetheless sustained heavy damage...

"The citizens and leadership of Belsavis have offered us very little. However as you know, The Elysium Empire is a beacon of freedom to the galaxy..."

“As you are a beacon of humility and truth, Mr. Valhoun” Ivixa cut in, her tone almost mocking.

"Planets in our domain have very high autonomy economically, militarily, and administratively. When The Imperator asked us for aid, we were glad to accept."

“Mhmm…” The Baroness nodded, a disbelieving expression manifesting across her cyan features as she did. “I have reason to doubt that, quite frankly.” She began. “But, I will accept your deception, if only to oil the gears of diplomacy. However, for the sake of clarity I'd like to ask you one thing. When you say, ‘very little’, what does that mean in tangible terms? Is ‘very little’ worth more than say…the cost of bringing a fleet of Unity-class star destroyers and multiple carrier strike groups all the way to the other side of the Outer Rim?” The Asa’nyx asked in no uncertain terms, referring not only to the primary Elysium fleet, but also to the presence of the 13th Elysium Battlegroup under the command of Admiral Aculia Voland, who had made quite a name for herself during the Battle of Tython. Her carriers and their squadrons of strike craft bore much of the credit for breaking the backs of the Mawite fleet, along with the forces of House Io. As such, it went without saying that the presence of such a force over Belsavis was a subject of extreme concern, considering that the 13th Battlegroup was the same force that had answered the call to fight in a battle where the fate of the entire galaxy was arguably at risk.

Knowing that the Elysiums had committed a similar amount of military assets to Belsavis as they had to the Battle of Tython, the Baroness believed that either they had been offered something of extreme value by Sarillia, or that the military capabilities of the Elysium Empire had grown considerably, far beyond any intelligence projections!

Rex simply smiled at the sarcasm and disrespect shown by the woman. He was used to it...so few had ever taken The Empire seriously, even after The Battle of Sev Tok. Even now, after Tython. He was numb to ridicule and disrespect. If anything, it was a tool to be used against enemies of The Empire. They could believe The Empire is weak, but when push comes to shove, they will be in for a nasty surprise.

So he simply smiled.

"The cost of bringing the fleet here was minimal. We have plenty of resources. I admit it was initially going to be restricted to Keatoch's detachment, the one that did so much work over Mandalore. However with Tython, Ms. Voland was close to Belsavis, and so I decided to bring her forces along as well.

Again, our gains are minimal...before The Eternal Empire's involvement, we would be gaining an ally far from our own territory. Now that seems unlikely, as I'm sure your people will install a dictator of your own. However The Elysium Imperium will still be gaining an influx of civilians that don't want to live under Eternal rule, and we will have continued to grow our reputation as a beacon of Freedom.

If The Imperator plans to give us any further reward, it is completely unknown to me...though The Empire will happily accept any gift."

He had hinted at The Empire's wealth by claiming the cost was minimal, he gave some ground by admitting the fleet was larger than he initially planned, he doubled down on his statement that The Empire's gains would be minimal, he added the tongue in cheek statement about The Eternals installing a dictator, and he revealed just what The Empire would be gaining. It seemed like a solid statement. He doubted the woman would see it the same.
