Finally! They had reached Morellia, or at least this is what Théo assumed, the ship had touched down on something which he assumed was terra firma. He was about to turn tail and go find his parents when a scenario formed in his head around the establishment of the Jedi Enclave .. the reason he was here to begin with.

In situ: The building site.
Papa: "Hand me that hammer, please".
Théo fetches hammer.
Papa: "I need those nails, and screwdrivers, can you get them for me please".
Théo gets them.
Mama: "Théo stand back from the building something might fall on you".
Théo is bored.
Mama: "You look tired, want to go for a nap?".
Théo runs.

As much as he loves his parents, this was not appealing at all!

The force was guiding him. All of a sudden he sensed his good buddy Zak! He is somewhere here on Morellia in the distance. By the water.

The Force was guiding Théo, at least that is his story and will stick to it.

Théo turned and headed for the hanger bay. The force told him to find a speeder bike and get on it. The force was telling him to start the speeder bike and Théo obeyed. The force told him to get as far away from his parents as possible, the force speaks a lot! The force told him to go as fast as he could before his parents noticed his absence.

And so the Force, had guided Théo to the Ocean. Now, where is he? Théo jumped off the bike and walked to the beach, the very first time to see one. His eyes widened with the large crashing waves, the funnels of water piping and crashing into white water, an image entered his mind, Théo on a board of some kind, standing and riding these things. Long curly hair wet, naked body save some swimming trunks and having the time of his life.

"Zak!", he yelled out, he is here somewhere. Through the force, Théo reached out to his friend to let him know he is here.

Théo loves the Force!

The great beast stirred slightly. He felt the trembling and shuddering of re-entry. He felt the sensation of solid ground beneath the massive vessel. But, he still couldn't be certain they were at their destination. He'd rather wait to be sure, rather than deal with the needless exertion of shifting back and forth again. Eyes slowly closed, as that massive maw, capable of crushing a grown mans skull with ease, slowly eased open, long pink tongue lolling out in a long, low, rumbly yawn.

Placing one paw over the other, the massive cat-like monstrosity lowered his head lazily to rest and wait. Hopefully Master Coci would remember they had the normally docile and compassionate Padawan waiting out the journey in here. All he needed was her 'all clear' to see about getting back into his robes, packed away in his rucksack nearby. Or more accurately, back into a form more suited for wearing said robes.

What do you think? Manufacturing center right in the mountain is what we're suggesting. Morellia is too lawless, even if the Silver Sanctum presence to have anything bigger or out in the open. Besides, trying to the preserve the natural landscape is paramount. As soon as we get our latest durasteel shipment in from Firemane I expect construction to start. I'll need you to come here mid-way through to make sure this place is staying secure.

I'm sure you've been informed about the pirate problem in this area as of late?

Sliding the datapad back in his pocket, Judah meandered off to join the geological crew. Time to see if they had an active volcano hiding in the range.

Tempest

Storm of the Force

Suddenly…spiders!

There was little warning for the Firemane troops before they were attacked. Swarming forward, the Firemane troops opened up a devastating volley of firepower on the attacking monsters. Bolters, flamers, grenades, all of them scythed down attackers in heaps, but still they came on. No matter how many fell another two were ready to continue the charge.

Tempest got some surprises though. First of all it seemed the redhead indeed had more than a few tricks about her. First a lightsabre, then a blast of pyromancy!

Then Tempest heard a rumbling, and from the ground burst a monster.
lake_hurwitz_x9_OPB_ultimaunderworld_giantspider.jpg

Tempest used the Force to lift herself into the air, calling upon her powers to send stabbing spears of lightning down into the monster. However, it had its own tricks, and even as it suffered it sprayed a web at her, catching her off guard and bringing her down to earth. Charging forward, it pounced on her, and Tempest could not break the sticky threads!

However, she did retain her wits enough to call her lightsabre from her belt with the Force and sent it spearing into the creature’s head. Finally, with it down she was able to break herself free and stand up. The walker loomed above her…it could be very useful in this kind of battle!

Within a few moments cadavres of massive spiders were strewn across the ground. Bolters, flamers, repeaters and all manners of weapons cut them down, producing a great slaughter. Loud screeches were heard when the walker crushed arachnids beneath it or scythed them down with its heavy repeaters.

A newcomer seemed to have joined them! The Twi'lek was very cute, though her leather outfit was perhaps a bit impractical for combat. Elpsis had a history with Jedi. Not the best, but before she could make a snarky comment or admire her lekku a beast commanded her attention as a monster burst forth from the ground.

Its longs legs slammed into her and sent her flying. Ouch. The fall momentarily knocked the wind out of her as she crashed into a pile of rubble, but she managed to roll as it sprayed a web at her. However, the beast pounced at her with surprising speed, even though a fireball leapt from her hand and partially ignited it, making it cry out in pain.

Her lightsabre had fallen out of her grasp and as she tried to call it into her hand, she felt a strong, searing pain when the beast's stinger struck her leg. While Elpsis had a suit of armour, it was rather light and basic, which meant the protection was less than ideal.

Fortunately she retained enough of her wits to let loose a blast of scalding flame, setting the creature alight. Then there was a loud boom when the explosive round of her bolt pistol impacted upon the creature's head, killing it. Gritting her teeth she got up, though she winced when she felt the effect of the venom. Around them the smoke was clearing as the spiders were cut down by the Firemane troops.

With the battle done and the spiders driven back, Tempest came over to see the Twi’lek Jedi Master.
“Welcome, Master Tann. The villagers are hiding…and with good reason judging by these spiders. Can we ask for your assistance? I sense a Dark presence nearby…maybe controlling these beasts.”

She glanced over and saw the redhead with the fire powers was down, hurt.
“Also, we may need your help as a healer, a couple of my troops are down. And this is Elpsis, I think she said her name was.”

She knelt down beside Elpsis. “Medic!” she called. “Hey, did it sting you? Where are you hurt?” Tempest asked quickly.

Matsu was going over more of it and listened as she beelined it to the site they had marked from the drones. Her workers going to work as they were getting the sections built up and ready with the production smiths. "We're heading over to one of the marked location Kei, report anything you got and we'll have the teams on the production lines going up. Power sells and converters are incoming." She had a grin while the forearm displaying the map in her hologram letting some of her attention go into the hills as the drone flew overhead showing them the location and Matsu was climbing up with the force in her hands to improve her grip.

Solan smiled as he jumped up and out of the grasp of the gundark, fire raining from the side in the form of high caliber metallic slugs from high powered tank rifles... turns out though, somehow this did not take down the blasted creature as the shots burst into it. Stumbling it lumbered forward for a second before focusing in on Solan with nothing but pure rage and pain in its eyes, the man himself still hanging in the air for the moment. "Uh... ya guys. Run." His hand flicked on his saber as he started to fall, his men evacuating from the area. Nearly all of them got out of there, with the exception of one who had been caught and slammed against the ground like a rag doll.

Solan watched this as he fell silently and then landing on the ground with a smile. Moving the blue blade infront of him the man turned his head to the side and waited for the lumbering creature to see him and give solan a good look at the wounds. One seemed to have punched right through the left arm, while the second of the two main shots seems to have gone through its shoulder on the right side. His men were going to have some long ours at the range for such a poor job at their shots but that was for another day.

Moving his feet he slid to the side as it charged at him, the air between them like a car running right beside you and within a moment a quick look over his shoulder found the arm of the brute coming at his face. Without anything he could do as far as stopping the strike or getting out of the way he put as much of a barrier between him and the gundark before being launched into the air and flying a dozen meters before slamming into the ground with his breath gone. It felt like he had been rammed by a speeder and opening one eye all to find the gundark charging once more. "Fuck my life..."

The Morellian - a farmer if the stains on his clothing were accurate - looked the Padawan over and snorted. His eyes had lingered on the blaster and lightsaber for a second longer than the rest of him, but he couldn't quite tell what the subtext was in the context. However, the man did give an answer, along with a thumb he jerked in a general direction.

"That way. Two blocks in, red building."

"Thank you."

No reason not to be polite after all, even if it was possible the other person wasn't. He headed off in the direction indicated. Just a couple minutes walk later, he was in front of said red building. There were two speeders there, with room for four total. Both had racks for rifles; apparently even the powerful Enforcer pistol needed help sometimes. An Aurebesh Esk was all that adorned the door, etched into the transparent portion rather than painted on. There was no 'front desk' inside, just a few desks throughout the room and a door leading further back. Only three of the desks had anything on them, but there was at least one office in the back that had a window out to the main floor and someone working inside.

A dark-skinned Morellian sat at one of the occupied desks typing on a computer terminal. Filling out some sort of report, though at the distance and angle Audren couldn't tell what it was. He was the only person in the room, though when he saw the Padawan he picked up his comm and spoke into it quietly for a minute before standing and approaching the Jedi. He carried a handgun in a thigh holster. Common sense said it was one of the .48-caliber Enforcer pistols, but he couldn't confirm that with the holster in the way. At this point though, getting a closer look at the gun would probably be a bad thing.

"And you are?"

"Audren Sykes, Silver Sanctum Coalition."

"Deimos Bailo. What do you want here?"

"To talk."

"About?"

"About the Coalition taking over, Deimos. Or am I wrong, Jedi?"

This man was taller and older than the first, with dark hair that was starting to fade to gray. He wore the traditional Morellian oilcoat and was still walking towards the two of them as he spoke, the door to the back still swinging closed. Despite the boots and the military cadence of his steps, his movements were almost silent. He also wore a gun, this one on his hip rather than the thigh holster Deimos wore. His expression, which matched his tone of voice, was not a happy one.

To be clear, Audren was by no means an expert at this. He wasn't one of those charismatic Jedi, or even one who had experience with negotiations. The closest he'd gotten to that was haggling over prices with a tailor. No, he was more of the "rush at the bad guys with lightsaber lit" Jedi, with a bit of "alternate methods" built in. That he'd expected something like this in no way helped.

"About Morellia joining the Sanctum, actually."

"Then you deny a Coalition fleet in orbit and Coalition forces already on the ground?"

There was a barely-concealed note of triumph in the man's voice, a gotchya tone. If the Sephi denied the charges, no doubt there were sensor records that would make him a liar. If he acknowledged the truth, his was the side that had sent soldiers onto an inhabited, neutral planet. A lose-lose situation. Fortunately, while the Padawan wasn't the diplomatic type, neither was he a complete idiot.

"How else would you recommend the Sanctum arrive? A planet on the border of Primeval space, one where there are reports of numerous outbreaks of dangerous animals? Would you have us send a single ship with a diplomat or high-ranking official unprotected for a Primeval fleet to capture and interrogate? Or to land on the planet and be eaten by a rancor three steps off the ship?"

Deimos gave his superior - at least, Audren presumed it was his superior - a glance, then headed to his desk to answer a beeping comm unit. He couldn't read the glance, but he could tell by the older man's slight grimace that his logic had been at least good enough.

"So you..."

"Sir! Spider attack reported. It's by one of the Coalition landing zones. They're saying it's a rout...of the spiders."

There was another beep from the comm. Another report just as the senior Enforcer was about to start talking. This time it was a rancor, supposedly ended by a single fighter using a gun, flamethrower, and some kind of sword. Another beep, which was a group of men taking down gundarks. By now the older man was simply looking at the younger Enforcer, his expression as slack-jawed as he would ever allow it to get. Audren took advantage of the reports, and the lull in the older man's tirade.

"You see, sir, we're not here to take over, we're here to help. Help drive the predator population back, help get your economy back on its feet, and help defend the population against potential threats from the Primeval. All we ask is that you let us."

"And when your helping us brings the Primeval down on us that much harder?"

"If the Primeval decided they wanted Morellia, they'd take Morellia. Our presence might deter them somewhat, but our absence wouldn't."

The man was looking at the Sephi now, not speaking. He could only hope that was a good thing. Then came Deimos' voice again. Audren hadn't heard the beeping comm, he'd been paying too close of attention to the conversation. Something else to work on in the future.

"Sir, another report. Dire-cats, on the other side of the town. Near housing units."

The report snapped the senior Enforcer out of his silence. Muttering a colorful curse, the man strode to the near corner and picked up two rifles, tossing one to Deimos and checking the other quickly. Satisfied, the man headed out the door, waving for Audren to follow as he did.

"Here's your chance to prove you aren't just gas, kid. You're riding with me."

Objective: Establish a Nautolan Refugee Colony Keep Theo Heavenshield from drowning. Or wrecking the planet.
Location: The Ocean

Temperate waters, with warm currents and a continental shelf which boasted edible seaweed beds.

It was a remote area of the planet, in terms of surface settlements, which would probably help to make the spot ideal for Nautolan development -- no worry about competing interests with the terrestrial Morellians. The corals were thriving as well. A stable aquatic ecosystem.

Suspended some thirty meters beneath the surface of the water, the small, green youngling hovered in the midst of a great under sea valley. Great mountains, with deeply carved recesses, and a fertile plain which stretched like a great scar through the center. Natural beauty, identical to the mountains and valleys of the surface world, but for the fact that this topography was submerged. Dark eyes took in sights which ordinary vision could not see, as the young city-planner drew up ideas in his mind's eye for what dreams may come if the Morellian's agreed to take the Nautolan refugees from Glee Anselm.

Then he felt something.

A presence?

Tilting his head back, it was an effortless gesture of his amphibious anatomy to adjust the buoyancy of his body so that he began rising up through the dark waters. As he did, he flexed his legs in a frog-kick, propelling his body back and up as he arced back toward where the larger of the undersea mountains grew into the continental shelf.

Which, in turn, became the beach.

Surfacing a minute later, the Nautolan casually transitioned from swim to stroll. His bare feet pressing against the soft sand, shell, and well-worn rock of the shoreline, the boy stood in his sleeveless tunic in water that came up to just over his knees. The sunlight gleamed off the silver and black handle of the curved lightsaber handle at the child's side -- the only thing which marked the child as a Jedi, especially as Zak didn't wear the traditional attire of one.

Bringing a hand up to the level of his eyes, the Nautolan squinted as he peered through the light of day at a small form further up in the sand.

"Theo?"

A breeze off the ocean played in his long hair, the smell of salt and seaweed wonderful to the senses and those waves. Théo's eyes watched with awe as wave after wave rolled in, perfection with each break, the white water charging to the sand and the roar of the crash, the hissing as the salt met sand filled his ears. And then a vision entered him mind accompanied by some strange music of places he had never heard of, riders of the waves cutting across the face of wall of water before vanishing into the pipe. It was a sight to behold, a being riding a wave on nothing but a piece of wood and as he thought on this a smile grew on his face. I am gonna do it!

"Theo?", a faint voice entered his mind. But for a moment, the pull of the ocean had him gripped, before he snapped out of it. He turns to see Zak in the water and Théo began to wave frantically, with a beaming smile.

"Yeah! Hey Zak!", without further word, Théo began to peel off his clothing until down to his boxers. His clothes fell where they may, saber and all .. well training saber and he ran into the ocean. One would think that Théo would have a fear of water considering what happened to him in the caves of Rhen Var but no. The event had completely erased any trepidation and he was no stranger to water especially when home on Tabaqui and father, well he loves to swim being part Pelagonian and all.

As he was approaching Zak, a smaller wave swelled and broke just before him and as it raced toward Théo, he dived under the rapid charging white water. Breaking surface Théo had the biggest smile on his face, long black hair clinging to his face framing his white teeth. "What are you doing here?", he asked his best friend who naturally could ask the same of him.

Objective: Establish a Coalition Enclave
Location: Construction site

Once on Morellian soil, the construction crews aboard the mining vessel went about their buisness like the professionals they are. They certainly didn't need the Grandmaster or his wife to babysit them, so the two were free to do whatever. Of course Théo left the scene as soon as he could, going off on one of his adventures. Thurion would've asked him to keep out of danger, but he knew there was no point in doing so. Danger had a way of finding him nonetheless. Instead he simply looked to his wife and shook his head humorously. "That's you he's taken after," he teased while wrapping an arm around her waist to pull her close for a kiss.

The moment between husband and wife was soon interrupted by one of the workers. "Masters Heavenshield, we've... we-uh..." Thurion raised a hand. "Slow down, friend. Collect your thoughts and tell us what you have found." The man nodded and took a few deep breaths. "What we found, well... You'd better come see for yourselves." Thurion offered Coci a concerned look before they moved towards the construction site. "We found it while preparing to lay the foundations. Thought it best we told you before doing anything with it."

Arriving at the scene, the crew parted so as to let the two Jedi pass. At the centre of attention, from beneath the ground, a skeletal hand showed itself. Passing the red tape, Thurion and [member="Coci Heavenshield"] stepped towards the bony hand. He kneeled down by it to get a closer look. "It doesn't look all that old," he told her. "I thought the inhabitants had gone extinct long ago?" Deciding to dig a little deeper - literally - Thurion came across a shiny surface in the earth. Grabbing it, he soon found it was chained to something. Giving it a hard tug, all of a sudden an entire skeletal torso was unearthed along with it. Needless to say he was taken aback by it, but the corpse fell apart just as suddenly, becoming little more than a pile of bones on the ground.

The shiny object he'd recovered turned out to be a necklace, which explained the chain. He handed it over to Coci. "Something feels... wrong." Crouching down by the hole left by the unearthed skeleton, he brushed away some more dirt only to find the remains of another. Slowly he stood up. "This is a mass grave. Considering how easy it was to stumble upon, someone either dug it in haste... or we're standing on a hell of a lot of dead people."

Kei heard Elara loud and clear while she spoke to the CEO, who also thought she was talking to him, and the CEO looked exceptionally proud of himself too, possibly reflecting the grin on Kei's face! He couldn’t think on it, too many places to be at once, much as he wanted to devote more time to her, they would have their time together again soon, duty first. The boy at his feet had his full attention until…

The Epicanthix looked up to see the small child bringing over what looked like a gift, his force senses were not the strongest in the world, and despite his efforts to save the boy at his hands, he’d been a few minutes too late, and he closed the lads eyes. Not the first man he’d not been able to save but it never got easier, despite what anyone told you. "What do you have there?" He said in the most welcoming, kind voice he could to settle the youngling approaching.

Squatting down still he reached toward the bag… and felt a great shiver run through him, snatching it through the force, throwing it behind and pulling the boy to him, in that second he extended a force shield around himself and the boy. Kei’s force shields were not able to stop all matter, they hadn't been trained that far yet. So as the device went off at Kip’s behest, some shrapnel would likely penetrate but be slowed, which was what would keep them both alive.

“Hold on!” He called to the frightened child, bracing, the split seconds it took for Kip to act would take it further away in the force, but this was going to hurt!

Matsu's drone might look on watching it all, as part of the orb was likely going to get pelted with metal.

The surface of Morellia loomed large in the cockpit window, Coci gave her husband's hand a gentle squeeze and pulled back from their embrace, before she headed to the back of the ship. As she entered the turbolift she shot him a raised eyebrow at his comment about Théo taking after her, a smile accompanied her look. It did not take long to reach the cargo hold in which Ryn'Dhal was housed, as strange as it was for a Padawan to travel, but a necessary one. She could sense his unease and agitation.

"Padawan Ryn'Dhal", she spoke with a soft voice not wishing to alarm him any further. "We are on ground and getting ready to leave". This her method of assuring him a little. The mysterious man she would allow to 'prepare' his arrival in private, "Master Heavenshield and myself will await you on the site". Her hand raised and unlocked the odd box in which he remained, he could join them when suited to him.

Coci found Thurion on the bridge once more, only to arrive and hear the strange conversation. Walking with Thurion to the site, there is a strange atmosphere around the place, long before Thurion had investigated the bones in the ground, Coci felt the presence of many. Within the force spirits roamed the grounds on which they walk as if still trying to find a way, but to where?

"I sense it too", she added her thoughts aloud. "I think we had better find a new site and have this area exhumed and investigated further". She leaned down to take a closer look, as the ground parted around more bodies. "Some of these bodies look like children".

Jedi clothing just wasn't water friendly.

Theo was practically taking all his clothes off, just to get wet. It was ridiculous. The ocean was awesome. More people ought to go there. But they had these thick carpets, woven of cotton -- which was horrible for heat retention by the way -- that they bundled themselves up in. And then were miserable when said cotton became water-logged and weighed a Hutt ton.

Zak stood out in any Jedi crowd, but at least he was always dressed appropriately for swimming.

"Well, you... you know how... how, like, your mom an' dad an' stuff are buildin' a.... a, like, home for the Jedi an' stuff?" the youngling responded, his head-tails bouncing behind his head as he looked down at the smaller boy. "I thought, there's, like, this whooooole lot of Nautolans who don't have a home because of the One Sith an' they need a place too."

Falling backwards, the Nautolan child ducked back under the water. His head came up a moment later, "So I'm lookin' for a place where maybe the Nautolans could live here."

That answered the question of what Zak was doing here.

He also had the benefit of not having any parents, and a Jedi Master who was at the Academy on Yavin 4 while Zak was supposed to be on Voss. Making him probably the most unsupervised minor in the whole of the cosmos.

Theo, on the other hand...

"Aren't you a, like, long way away from the enclave thing?"

Mission: Scouting to assist [member="Solan Charr"]

They'd spotted the fight a distance out, coming to aid as their ship landed, a few Echani clad in purest white. Taiden was gaining speed at the groups head as he barely brushed the foliage aside. Nature was where he was most happy, and so was moving within it soft of step so not to damage what he found.

A rustle of undergrowth nearby, and a flash of silver glinting against the sun, meant [member="Solan Charr"] didn’t find himself alone for long, the white haired Echani tried to distract the beast, slicing along its charging knee before he rolled away in its wake. One blinding flash erupted from the end of his hand, a force technique to sap the vision. It barely paid the cut much mind at all, but the act had however given Solan another valuable second to prepare himself for what came next, the beast shrugging off its hazy eyes to continue its charge toward him.

The Echani Swordsman focused his fine pinpoint attentions to the back of the beast, following along the curve of his Kethblade to the central kill point at the rear, sadly he was too far away to make use of it, graceful light footed steps tried to catch up in case Solan needed more aid, but he would not get another swing of his sword in time before they met.

Solan watched as what he assumed was one of the silvers appeared and tried to delay, distract, or outright kill the thing. His hand drew across the hilt of his saber once more as he smiled and touched the activator. His back was pressed against a stone as it was literally and figuratively, the only direction being up and in that moment he braced his feet to be ready for the push upwards. The biggest problem was he knew he could feel something bruised if not fractured or outright broken on the inside of his chest. That last hit was enough to do it even if he had the barrier up best he could in the small time. His clothing itself was also torn at this point, the robe like wrappings starting to rip and tatter.

His hands came up as he jumped, the creature crashing through the stone and crying out as it looked about for solan until the man smiled. With a look at the jedi he landed right on the back of the gundark, placing the saber into its back and holding himself there for a moment before being tossed off once more when the creature went into a frenzy over the pain. His body traveled for a few meters once more, but this time it didn't land with a slam against the ground but instead on his own feet, his saber still in his hand and having been torn out of the enraged creature's back when he was tossed off too. "Hey Jedi, Your turn."

Ryn slowly emerged from his confinement, having shifted back into his more readily recognized form. That is, hooded and masked. Shouldering his pack, he was thankful to have packed spares. He didn't know what awaited him ahead, and would rather not have to return home in his birthday suit, should something.... stressful.... happen.

He made his way down from the ship, approaching Masters [member="Thurion Heavenshield"] and [member="Coci Heavenshield"]. He heard her mention children, as his masked face tilted. "What are chil-" His voice trailed off, as his ever feeling connection with the Force was assaulted. He felt fear. Pain. Anguish. Suffering.

The padawan stumbled back, falling to a knee as his vision swam. So much death, in such a short time. It was too much to take in so quickly. He was thankful he had not eaten in quite some time, or he'd have the contents of his stomach on the ground before him. He could almost hear their cries for mercy, echoing through the Force.

After a few moments, he would attempt to rise, unsteadily, to a standing position, panting slightly. "Children, families. Mothers holding their children attempting to shield them from what was to come...." He uttered, in a soft, low, tone, almost a growl. He tapered off his reception to the flows of the Force in the immediate area, as the fear that saturated the area was too thick, a saber could have cut it. Centering himself with a long, calming breath, his golden eyes flitted back and forth between the two Masters. "Do we know who they were? And who could have done such a heinous act?"

They had a bit fixed on the kremlin to keep it from biting and eating other people as Leina was holding the large ball of hair and teeth. Oh it was like a large ropo only black and with red eyes... that ate peoples who were unaware as she danced holding it. The team with her looking at her while she moved oblivious to them and in her own world. "We like to move it move it, jedi like to move it move it, Sir Reginld likes to move it move it." She bounced more accidentally activating her coms. "MOVE IT." She kept moving with them as she sang and the creature seemed to be going into submission at her awesome verbal assault on good taste in music to soothe the savage beast. "Master Coci likes to move it move it, Wilkdcards like to move it move, padawan Zak likes to move it move it."
