Zahori Denko
Alderaan, the bright beacon of hope for Republics throughout history, and now the capital of a Coalition of Free Worlds. For too long Alderaan had served as an affront to the Sith Empire, harboring enemies of the state and serving as an untouchable redoubt for pro-Republican corsairs to harry Imperial trade convoys moving between the neutral worlds just beyond the Coalition’s borders.
But no longer.
The tides had begun to shift, spies embedded within the Coalition’s territory spoke of opportunity. They had begun to stagnate, mired in complacency. The Coalition deigned to leave planetary defense up to its individual member-states, neglecting a national military in favor of planetary self-determination.
The Sith Empire held no such noble sentiments, its military was centralized and vast.
So the Sith Emperor and his villainous war council had drawn up plans to deliver a series of knockout blows to the ailing state. A tripartite strike at the Coalition’s most important planets, Alderaan, Kuat, and Balmorra.
The legendary shipyards above Kuat have always been a beacon of industrialization and strength in the galaxy. For many centuries, Kuat Drive Yards have brought great economic boons to it’s homeworld while provided nation after nation after nation with it’s warships. The Galactic Republic saw it’s time with Kuat, and the Galactic Empire after them. And now, the Free Worlds Coalition has their turn ruling the planet.
But their time has ended.
The Coalition has grown complacent and ignorant to the power they wield. They are children playing with a loaded blaster. When you have a child holding a weapon, you must confiscate it from them and punish them for it. From the tunnels of hyperspace emerged several vessels of war. Imperial ships by design. The Sith Empire have found a lapse in their fight against the Galactic Alliance and the Silver Jedi in order to bring war to the Coalition’s shipyards above Kuat. There would be no mercy, no quarter, no escape.
At the head of a massive fleet was the Galewind, an Militus-class Star Battlecruiser and the current command ship of Vice Admiral Denko. She was appointed the commanding officer of this operation by the Emperor himself. It was of no surprise to her after her efforts against other enemies of the Sith, she was the only logical option for such an operation.
From the bridge of the Galewind, Zahori sat, watching and waiting. Several ships exited hyperspace at her flanks, all under her command. She expected several other Imperial naval personnel to accompany her on this mission so she waited patiently for their arrival. It gave her time to think of her strategy for the coming battle. Other than that, the bridge was alive with activity as personnel were constantly on the move, checking sensors, powering up shields and weapons, and monitoring the fleet’s systems as a whole.
“Admiral Denko, the fleet is prepared for the assault on your command. .” a comms officer reported. Zahori gave her a nod and returned her gaze on the shipyards. She had plans for Kuat Drives Yards. Plans that would not only benefit her, but the Empire as a whole. She would decimate them, but leave just enough in tact for use by the Empire.
“It was inevitable. It has always been inevitable. The Sith’s hunger knows no sustenance other than the pain and anguish of it’s enemies. It is a hunger that shall always remain unsated. One that will always be there no matter how many bodies we pile onto the pyre. After today, that pyre is going to have several thousand more bodies upon it.”
