The Jedi Order Q&A

Yes I have a question. Do the Jedi of this particular order believe in more of the Luke skywalker chillaxed order. Or the more strict traditional order or is it mixed?

Also another question, are the Jedi viewed as more peacekeepers or generals in the republic's eyes?

And one more thing, if you expect the unexpected does that make the unexpected expected?

The Magic 8 Ball says "Reply hazy try again later".

Or really, it's to each their own. The Jedi on SWRP run with the general concept of what a Jedi is, though, in that they are the the heroes of the galaxy. It's pretty self-explanatory from a Writer's perspective how they'd act if one has seen the movies.

Yes.

Both are canon.

Maybe.

Who is the ruling body of the Republic, the Jedi or the Senate?

As the Jedi's general response to the Senate in RP time and time again has made it seem like the Jedi run the show.

We mostly RP the same way as the Jedi acted in the Clone Wars. IE the Jedi answer to the Jedi, not the Senate. Technically, in matters both politic and military, the Supreme Chancellor is in charge (unlike in canon where the Senate controlled everything and the Chancellor was a figurehead.) The reason for this is trying to have 30 different writers making decisions together is a near impossible task. It's easier to have just one person in charge.

So the Senate is the figurehead around here, for the most part. But just as in the Clone Wars series, the Jedi handle the Jedi. Jedi breaks a law, the Jedi will handle them - not the Senate. Even the Supreme Chancellor asks favors of the Jedi, knowing they can say 'no' at any point. It's the same as it's always been, you just don't get a lot of that background noise that helps set the stage for understanding.

Yes Krest. Yes they do. I imagine using the Dark Side is like having BO - you may not smell it, but people who aren't used to it certainly do.

>Go to character creation
>make new character
>join Jedi

TL;DR You don't demand of the Jedi, and the Jedi don't demand of you.

Do these question's answers really matter?
How do I go about making a new jedi character?
It's not so much Sith, it's that the Jedi have a reasonable, and most force users who use the light side of the force, have a distrust of anyone who uses, or meddles with the dark side. It's not so much as a balancing act, but rather a ticking timebomb. Gray users have notoriously failed in their attempts to quell their lust for the dark side.

IE;
Revan
The Je'daii...

It's a reasonable, honest distrust.

I believe that option was talked about a while back. But nothing came of it fully. Maybe they distanced themselves abit, but how that is now who knows but them.

Now my question is: Do the Jedi believe they have authority over Sith and Dark Sider'sin other lands. You know, the right to kill and arrest them as necessary. This is more for neutral nations, not places where Sith rule.

What's the Senate's purpose in the Republic besides being a 'figurehead'?
Political roleplay. Senate also has a significant sway in the direction of the Republic, just gotta put your mind to it, and grind a bit.

Uhm... no, that's about all I can think of besides what Tracyn said.

We tried not having them as a figurehead, where they actually did stuff... and you had individual senators going out and making treaties with factions behind the back of the Supreme Chancellor/rest of the Senate. Also 90% of the Senators were either uneducated (trying to abolish the Talbun system on Kuat comes to mind, proposed by the Senator of Kuat at the time), or they were alts of people in opposing factions actively making laws to make sure the Republic couldn't do anything (YOU CAN BE SITH IF YOU WANT ITS K.)

So the Jedi are basically the Templars in the High Middle Ages, answerable to their own group and the head of the religious order. They might help you against your enemies, but unless they are heathen Sith they might not. Any breaches of behaviour are handled by their own courts, so they are not answerable to the law of the land.

Let’s hope for their sake no one decides to Philippe IV them….

Sounds more like you're punishing before the crime.
