The Hardest Thing A Jedi Can Ever Do (Official Summit Of ALL Masters)

Josh sighed as The Final Dragon made it's way towards Roche. He considered everything he was about to do... And it left a pit in his stomach. Did he have the right to do this? As the Knight Representative?

But alas... It had to be done. This couldn't go on any longer, and as much as it pained him, being a Jedi and a member of the Council came first over personal insecurities, friendships or fears. He would gladly risk humiliation and being kicked off the Council if he was thought a fool, instead of letting these problems go on any longer. As long as it was brought to light...

Josh reached for his datapad, plugging into the Council channels. He gulped. The Jedi Knight wasn't normally this nervous... But this was huge.

Finally, he turned on the messaging... This would be broadcasted to Jedi Masters across the galaxy. He had permission to do so, after speaking with colleagues... It was now or never.

"My fellow Jedi Council Members, AND... To the Jedi Masters of our Order..." he began.

His face turned to one grim, but serious, knowing what had to be done.

"I am officially calling a summit for all Jedi Masters, on neutral ground, to discuss and take action on an issue that is slowly beginning to cause problems among our ranks. I hope to see many of you there. I am sending the exact coordinates to each and every single one of you the meeting location" he said calmly.

And with that, he ended the transmission, taking about 20 minutes to individually speed send as many coordinates as he could to the ones he had communicated. Now, as per the advice given to him... There was one more...

He dialed a number, and after a few minutes, the face of Chancellor @[member="Aleidis Ijet"] came up via hologram.

He tried to force a smile, but couldn't, and sighed.

"Chancellor Ijet..." he began, but his nerves got to him and he sighed. He knew he was better off just being himself in this situation, or risk getting himself sick. His heart was beating rapidly, and he hoped the familiarity would calm him. He hoped she would understand.

"Look, sweetheart..." he began. "I've been advised to call a summit of Jedi Masters to Roche about an issue in the Jedi, and it's also been advised to me to see about having you come to Roche as a Republic witness and advisor" he said, taking a breath.

"If you think back to a week or so ago... Or heard the rumors that surfaced after... You know what this is about" he said. "If you're able to make time for it, I would appreciate it. If you are unable, I understand completely" he said. The grim look on his face would tell Aleidis that this was important, instead of some kind of surprise date. He wished it was, calling a meeting over a fellow Jedi Council Member going power mad was the last thing he wanted to do.

His breathing calmed a bit... He watched as the asteroid field came into view, but his face remained transfixed upon the features of the Ghostling.

He wondered... Why the hell had THIS place been suggested to him? It was neutral but... Force sakes, they could have done this in a planet at least.

No details -- and he'd been out of the loop in the Unknown Regions, resolving the destiny of the war criminal Matsu Ike. An issue could mean anything.

On neutral ground, though -- now there was a curious phrase.

The Roche asteroid field parted before him, and the Oneiromancer zeroed in on one of the largest asteroids, a place which had seen a four-way battle between the Republic, the Empire, the Death Watch and the Mandalorians themselves. He, personally, hadn't been there, but it remained on the Imperial border. This couldn't possibly be neutral ground with the Empire or the Mandalorians -- could it? Not unless Aleidis was ceding Roche, and she wasn't, considering she was sitting beside him.

Neutral ground with who?

...neutral ground between the Jedi and the Republic, maybe?

With a grimace, he ended the White Current illusion that served as a cloaking device for the Oneiromancer, and the sleek vessel zeroed in on the entrance to the asteroid city.

In due course, he arrived at the meeting place.

"Councilor DragonsFlame," he said with a nod. They might have disagreed, and sharply, about the necessity of the death penalty for unrepentant war criminals, but when the Council called, Je'gan answered.

A principle that had made him the Jedi Order's wetwork man and jailer for many, many, many years before his most recent death.

Aleidis Zrgaat

Young soul from an older generation.
Aleidis Ijet had been a busy girl, lately. A busy girl, and somewhat loathe to leave her duties behind to go to some sort of seekrit meeting on the other side of the Republic for nebulous. If it'd been anyone besides Joshua - or one of her Masters, or a likewise important person - she would have tried to persuade them to have this sort of thing within her usual commute. But Josh had clearly been shaken up when he'd left her that message.

And she did owe it to him to hear him out.

Luckily for Aleidis, who had never really seen fit to own a ship or learn how to so much as pilot a speeder, her teacher-cum-father figure Je'Gan was going to the same place for the same reasons. It was a fairly uneventful trip, all told. Considering that Je'Gan had lived as a jewel around her neck for years, the two were perfectly capable of enjoying each other's company in more or less total silence.

And as much as Aleidis considered herself fairly proficient with the White Current, it was a pleasure to watch the master himself immerse an entire starship as easily and handily as some Jedi drew a saber. A chilling simile, once it occurred to Aleidis, considering his history.

The choice to have this meeting on Roche struck her as more than a little peculiar, and Aleidis arrived at a conclusion somewhat different than Je'gan's. Joshua clearly had some matter of grave import to discuss (and as to what rumor he'd been referring to, she hadn't a clue - half of her job was rumors, now) and had selected Roche, sight of the tragic battle, to lend gravity to his statements where he was worried his words could not.

Granted, electing to have the meeting on Roche would not endear his cause to Darron Wraith. Aleidis would frankly be surprised if he came, given what she knew of his history here.

"Enzi." Aleidis greeted Josh as she stepped out from behind Je'Gan, hands behind her back and her ever-present satchel over her shoulder.

Syn's head perked up at the curious message, the ship he had gotten for transport and training his padawans... Plus Elayne Hawk set a new course. His mind though just searched for notions the councilor would need them all to meet. On neutral ground? Neutral ground between jedi masters was anywhere they stood. It didn't need a trip to Roche and he let those old thoughts gather for one reason. He suspected several things one of which was a trap, hell that was the first thing that came to mind because going to the border, out of the way of the temples and additional forces.

Or maybe the boy was thinking himself something, it is hard to explain the mind of a child who thinks he knows everything and with the state of the Republic. Ehh he went back to waiting in his quarters until the ship arrived at the location, no cloak, no weapons. just came in and wearing his robes the jedi master moved taking in the others who were here, he knew what had happened here. He half expected Darron not to come without a lot of pressure but as far as meeting places go it was simple.

Then the scent of Aleidis raised his eyebrow and Je'gan, one he expected the other. If she was here then either it was bad or a distraction and something to be taken less serious. You don't call in masters and then bring a former master. At this moment she had no place in jedi affairs or business, no she only was needed for the Republic. That thought alone lowered the priority of this situation from important to meager and as he walked into the presence of the others the jedi master spoke leaving his face on Joshua.

"Councilor Dragonsflame, Master Olra'en." He didn't address Aleidis yet just came to a standing to see all three of them and bowed his head. "Supreme Chancellor Ijet." Then his gaze returned to the boy who had called all the masters, he kept his expression neutral and crossed his arms over his chest while listening to the room. Listening for the tells of anyone else but he suspected Je'gan would be calm. The man was right after all he had done the councils dirty work and possibly struck something when he called the other councilor a child for arguing fully the jedi didn't kill.

The Final Dragon finally landed on the asteroid designated, and as soon as Josh looked around.... He understood.

This was the least likely place for anyone to look for the Jedi Masters of the galaxy. The least likely place they would be attacked.

And then he saw Je'gan land, and with him came Aleidis. He gave the Ghostling a bittersweet smile, and then looked at Je'gan with a nod. "Master" he replied. "Enza" he said to Aleidis.

And then came Syn. Josh's heart skipped a few beats as the Miraluka arrived. He didn't know how he was going to handle even STARTING with Syn there, always watching and judging. He sighed. This had to be done... The trial was one thing, the deal with Omega Pyre was another.. This was why he had called the meeting. He hoped he could open it, and then the other Masters could pick it up and run with it. He didn't wish to speak more then he had to... This whole thing was making him sick.

"Master" he said to Syn. It pained him what he was about to do... But if he didn't speak up now, who would?

A blind man could have spotted the interplay of respect offered and withheld. And with that, the discussion of neutral ground started making sense -- along with certain reports he'd gleaned on his way back through civilized space. Reports on a planned Jedi training mission with the Protectorate, for example.

And then, of course, it all made sense. Ben, eternally busy, stretched to the limits. Syn, stepping up to fill his place, brand-new Master of the Order. Joshua, the only other consistently present member of the Council -- how did a Council have only two functional members? -- chafing at Syn's assumption of authority. That shed new light on how the Order was responding to the training mission which threatened to undermine the Republic's diplomacy.

As with the trial of Matsu Ike, it seemed Syn had made that call on his own initiative, countering the Republic without the consent of the rest of the Council.

And Je'gan had bowed to that process, enabling it, in order to get a judgment that suited his sense of justice. He couldn't regret that, but today was not about justice for Matsu Ike, currently happily ensconced in a cage in the most secure prison known to man. No, today had to be about whether Syn had possessed the authority to make that call, and the call that had put Matsu in Je'gan's care, and the initial, then rescinded, authority to execute the Jedi war criminal.

Fundamentally, today was about whether Syn was riding roughshod over DragonsFlame, or whether the Knight was getting too ambitious.

As someone who had lived in secret within Aleidis Ijet's necklace ever since her Knighthood, Je'gan had a unique insight on both men. And considering that only Ben Watts and Boolon Murr knew that the returned Jedi Master had really been back (in tsil-necklace form) for the last two or three years...

Well, DragonsFlame might have guessed, or Aleidis might have told him when Je'gan's spirit wasn't around, but he knew these two men better than he should have.

Aleidis greeted both men - friends of hers - with a polite (if tense) nod and a wary smile. Truth be told, the palpable tension made her quite nervous. Under such an oppressive atmosphere, a man could be moved to making snap decisions with consequences that'd reign far and long into history.

That was likely why she was here. Damage control.

Or, perhaps more likely, to mediate as much as she could (which was it's own sort of damage control when you got right down to it) before blood was drawn and bridges burned. Maybe Joshua felt she had a right to be there, as she'd been a Jedi Master before she'd been asked to step down. There were any number of motives a person could have for wanting the Ghostling present, and Aleidis quietly decided that she'd have to wait and see what those motives were.

And yet, ambition was the last thing running through Josh's mind. This meeting wasn't about him whatsoever, and if ever a position of power that he did not earn was offered to the Weaponmaster, he would refuse it outright in favor of someone that DID earn the position.

Josh had called this meeting to address the actions of Syn in an environment that they wouldn't be watched or interrupted... And though he disliked Roche, with all of it's history, and being an asteroid field and all, whoever had suggested he hold it here seemed to know what they were doing.

As far as to why he called the meeting... The main things were Syn's conduct as a Jedi, along with making decisions for the Council as if he were the Grandmaster, including making the sentence of Matsu Ike on his own without even consulting either Ben, Darron or himself, even though Josh was right there to watch him do it. And even there, Syn had not only done that, but had given Je'gan, who had wanted the death penalty for Ike, the right to EXECUTE the Jedi Master if he didn't deem her fit for his rehab, which is real smart considering the sentence he originally wanted. Way too easy to take advantage of, and Syn knew it.

Luckily for that situation, Josh had stepped in, regardless of his feelings of inferiority due to him being the "Junior" member of the Council, and brought it back to a democratic, voting base, which though it forced him to agree with Syn's sentencing, the least he was able to do was revoke Je'gan's permission to execute Ike. In the end, he might have only stalled the death of the Jedi Master unless Ben managed to get there in time, but at the very least that crisis was temporarily averted. Still, that incident bugged Josh even now, and it had nearly caused him to request a leave of absence to clear his head... But he knew he couldn't do it. After that incident, he couldn't let Syn run roughshod with the illusion of power for decisions like that just because of his position. With Ben and Darron god knows where most of the time, he was the only one who could do anything.

And then there was the incident with Omega Pyre... The thought made him shake his head. The Republic was working on treaties after Omega and Republic had committed war crimes against each other... Tensions were already high due to the incident between Protectorate Leaders and Chancellor Aleidis Ijet. And knowing that the Jedi represented the Republic... Syn set up for the Jedi and OP to compete against each other in CAPTURE THE FLAG!?

That decision baffled him. That and him blatantly using his "power" as Second In Command, without consulting the Council, AGAIN, to do so, baffled him even more. It was as if he were trying to undermine and sabotage both the Republic and Jedi with something like that... And the word flying around after both these decisions made it worse. Josh had a cold feeling that with this continuing, the Jedi would fall apart unless Ben returned, or if something wasn't done...

Then the aforementioned conduct. Josh had heard tales of many incidents, but didn't recall every single detail. The one incident he had been a witness to though, was where Syn had been dealing with an apprentice, and after the Apprentice had attacked him in a show of power, Josh had stepped in and separated Syn and the apprentice before anything else could happen. Instead of letting it end, Syn had decided to attack the apprentice with two sets of Shadowstrike in retaliation, drawing ire and causing the Padawan to leave, before it was defused by now former Jedi Knight Asha Seren after Josh's attempts to cover for Syn's mess had failed. Regardless of Syn telling others it had been self defense, the Jedi Knight knew what he saw, and it hurt him to see conduct like that no matter what position you were as a Jedi.

Regardless, a deep pit had formed in Josh's stomach as he looked at what would likely happen. All he wanted was for this situation to be addressed before Syn made MORE horrid decisions and sent the Jedi into a downward spiral. But he knew in his heart that Syn would likely get more then just a slap on the wrist once the decision was almost completely out of his hands. The thought made him feel like he was backstabbing a man he considered his friend and ally, even somewhat like a brother figure... But duty to the Jedi had to come first.

He was upset it had come to this... And he was upset that him calling this meeting would ultimately kill the relations between himself and his friend, but he had to put the Jedi's sake over his own.

Syn stayed where he was and let the tension in the room indicate where he needed to look. He stood very still keeping his arms crossed and spoke offering a tight lipped smirk. Based on how no one wanted to speak it just kept him curious as to the point. "Well councilor? While we wait are we going to hear even briefly what has become so urgent? So needed we need a summit of masters called to the edge of Republic space. Do tell why jedi business includes the Supreme chancellor? She is no longer a jedi, to bring her here to hold your hand while you waste time is unneeded. This could have been done on Tython or Coruscant."

He still kept his face neutral to the group but let his own senses flare while searching out the room. He didn't waste listening to Je'gan or Aleidis, he just poised his hearing on the boys heartbeat, on his scent and his gaze. There was something he wanted to discuss and bring up but right now all he wanted to do was play stare down. Which was fine, Syn wouldn't blink staring down the boy and all his training let him remain still like a statue before speaking. "So come on and out with it. I have padawans to train and duties to preform while the grandmaster is busy."

Josh shot @[member="Syn"] a glare at his outburst. "Patience" he said calmly. "Just because you are here doesn't mean everyone who is to be here is here" he said, now a little annoyed at Syn's rude nature. He had seen Syn change ever since he had become the Second In Command... And even now he was seeing it. Even moreso now, he wondered... Would the other Jedi give Syn a slap on the wrist and try to convince him to see the error in his ways? Or would it be more drastic, including a probation or even removal from the Council. The latter wasn't what he wanted, but if it was what was needed for the Jedi's sake, he would stand with it.

His mind wandered to the fact that there were very few active Jedi Masters in the galaxy these days... He wondered where the days had gone. He sighed. Ben Watts and Darron Wraith were the only active ones that were missing from the meeting. With Ben gone, he doubted the Grandmaster would show, but he would have loved if he did. Ben would settle this easily.

Darron Wraith, a fellow Council member, was who Josh wanted to wait for. He just hoped he would come.

"As for Chancellor Ijet..." he said to Syn, remembering his outburst about the Chancellor. "There are a multitude of reasons that were suggested to me. She is here to observe, keep the peace, and help tone things down if needed. I have always had faith in Aleidis's abilities, and that is why she's been called here" he said calmly.

Ben curiously entered the room with absolutely no details as to why he had been called to Roche. Since the events of Metalorn, Ben had been noticeably absent from the Jedi temple, he had things to meditate on. He had left the Jedi in capable hands and now that Aleidis had secured her spot as the Supreme Chancellor he finally felt like he could breath. He trusted Syn and Aleidis but he figured there were just some decisions he needed to make himself.

The air had a certain electricity to it as he walked in as soon as Syn began to speak. Joshua was a Jedi he had come to know personally and he was another Jedi he trusted. He still had things to learn, as every single person in the room did, but he had a good head on his shoulders and Ben knew he would turn into a leader for the Jedi someday, if he already hadn't while he had Ben away.

"Syn," His voice was soft but firm, he would not talk down to his fellow Jedi, he was mostly there as a voice of reason. "I am sure Josh has his reasons for asking Aleidis to come here today. While she is no longer under the banner of Jedi, she is the Supreme Chancellor, and she used to be one of us. She is always welcome at our meetings as long as she is invited." He quickly grabbed a seat and he took a seat, giving everyone a nod as he looked around, wondering if they would question his absence.

"Shall we begin, then?"

Je'gan cleared his throat, but was interrupted by the most welcome presence of the Grandmaster.

"Gentlemen, this isn't appropriate. Regardless of the reason we've been called here, I suspect it can't be discussed without clearing the air. I've been a Jedi for half a millennium, I've served on the Council once or twice, and in all that time I've never seen this kind of frosty, passive-aggressive condescension between Council members. Self-righteousness is the Dark Side.

Syn remained locked on Josh until he heard and felt Ben come in. It was a welcoming feeling while he remained standing and spoke. "Understood sir." Then je'gan spoke and he kept his head from flicking towards the man by simply sitting down in one of the seats Ben had shown were around and folded his hands. "Wise council Master Je'gan." He didn't need more to say just had to listen and with his expression remaining the same of neutrality his senses flicked back to Josh gicing the barest of two fingers to indicate... continue.

Josh's eyes widened as the Grandmaster made his surprise entrance, and a tidal wave of relief washed over the Weaponmaster. He was practically singing the praises of the Force in his head at this turn of events.

"I was hoping to wait for Council Member Darron Wraith" he said, shrugging. "I wanted the whole Council here this time, unlike the last instance that the Council came together for something important"

"But..." he said. "If the Grandmaster wills it, I will at least brief you, and if you wish to wait for Wraith or not, then that can be decided then"

"The reason I've called you here, gentlemen, as well as Miss Ijet..." he began. "Is..." he took a deep breath before finally saying it.

".... To discuss the recent actions of Council Member and Second In Command, Syn, during the absence of Ben Watts" he said. "This has been on my mind ever since the trial of Matsu Ike, and admittedly it's been biting at me more and more ever since. Now with the news that Syn, once again without consulting anyone from the Jedi or the Republic, has decided to make what's basically a competitive Capture The Flag between the Jedi and Omega Pyre, or as an advisor to me worded it.. "deliberately separated Jedi foreign relations from Republic foreign relations, on his own initiative, and undermined Republic diplomacy"... WHILE negotiations are still going on with the Protectorate, I decided it was time to deal with this before anymore incidents happened to drag the Jedi down even more" he stated calmly, looking in the eyes everyone from Je'gan to @[member="Aleidis Ijet"], to @[member="Syn"], to even @[member="Ben Watts"] with a serious look in his as he briefed them.

"I have also heard of incidents of Syn's... Conduct that is not that of a Jedi, one which I was witness to and already have reported to the Council the day it happened" he said.

"I'd like to have this discussed among the Masters and then action taken, though what action to be taken to deal with this situation before it gets any worse I will not suggest, due to it being me who called this" he finished, managing to keep his composure throughout.

"You forgot talking with the Iron Knights to smooth over the jedi betraying them long ago. Councilor but as to the rest. Yes I made a deal with Omega Pyre, they have done nothing but be kind to us while demands are on them. They aided at Metalorn their colonel protecting my padawan at the Hyper velocity gun, they aided us in the swamps of Dagobah after the alliance with them was broken. They have aided several times on Coruscant when sith forces infiltrated and attempted to capture jedi, murder citizens and they did so of their own volition. We had no means of demanding it or grounds to ask for it. They helped us, so an invitation to allow them to test their people vs a small group of us. It paltry in the scheme, if it hurts the negotiations it is and will because the Republic chooses to ignore what good they have done to get a man. Granted a criminal by law and deed or to settle some need to show who is the top of the food chain."

He still kept he face collected as he thought back and gave a smirk. "As to the incident you are referring to if it is the padawan prospect who came seeking training from Asha Seren and the other, the one who attacked me while I spoke with him and YOU councilor threw into a wall while I used enough force to subdue and stop him. Well own up to your part in it as well for there is plenty to go around Councilor Dragonsflame. Now for the trial was is not you who said you could not pass judgement on your old master? Was it not you who offered a naive view then balked at Master Je'gan's words. One of us had to give a sentence and you don't have the stomach for passing judgement that conflicts with your view of the order. Do we kill? yes we do when it is needed, we look for all alternatives first if possible and I was prepared for the possibility of what might come to pass. Master Je'gan was correct and very persuasive in his words and now he has the reigns of Master Ike's rehabilitation."

"If you wish to air other instances of my conduct very well then. I was also ordered to make a deal with Domino of the black sun where we exchanged stealth crystals for cure data to help victims of the infection. I have been in talks with one of the witches of Dathomir to provide information on our enemies movements, I have infiltrated and scouted CIS space converting one of their Templars to the jedi order, I have aided in the extinction of a dangerous species on Mimban and I somehow made friends with Aleidis Ijet despite my initial disdain of her fragility. I do not regret being her friend though I handled it all wrong at the time. Now councilor if you wish to go over them, we can get all our laundry into the open. What questionable conduct have you preformed lately?" The jedi master remained very calm letting his expression show blankness while taking small breathes show his chest didn't even rise. He let the old instincts of being raised on Cathar hold him statuesque in the seat.

Josh didn't seem to react at all to Syn's statement, and without missing a heartbeat responded with "The security cameras tell otherwise to the Padawan incident, Syn. I saw the Padawan attack you, and yes I used a small force power, a push, to separate you both. The thing you neglect to mention is that instead of subduing him, which I had already done... You attacked him after the altercation was over using a Shadowstrike, once to the skull, once to the groin area, out of retaliation" calmly.

Josh's mind had been overflowing with remorse over making this meeting over Syn, with him being his friend, but as soon as he saw Syn lie to try and save himself, which was incredibly un-Jedi like... That remorse faded, and his confidence had returned.

If Josh had doubted himself whatsoever about making this meeting, those doubts were now extinguished.

"Does everyone know what happened at the trial of Matsu Ike?" he asked, looking at @Je'gan Olra'en, @[member="Ben Watts"] and @[member="Aleidis Ijet"].

Je'gan cleared his throat.

"I do have a few points to add, yes, Joshua. Since this is our topic.

"Syn, if you'll allow me, I'll address your issues point by point, and pray that the Force grants me clarity of memory. First, you mention the smoothing over of ancient troubles with the Iron Knights. Your positive actions aren't the issue here, and I'd like to prevent focus creep.

"Second, you say that the Omega Protectorate has been 'nothing but kind to us,' and you use this as justification for taking Jedi foreign policy into your own hands and taking it upon yourself to counter or undermine Republic foreign policy. Those are issues for the entire Council, not for one individual. Furthermore, the only times the Protectorate has helped us in any substantive way, they have required exorbitant payment for their help. Small-scale aid costs them nothing. A friend who won't save your life until you pay them is not a friend at all. But, again, the issue here is whether you could make the decision, alone, to undermine the Republic's foreign policy at a very critical stage, while talks were in progress. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who's uncomfortable with your assumption of authority.

"Striking a would-be Padawan in the groin and the skull with the Force? Really? I know what you're capable of, and there are far gentler and more pointed ways to teach a lesson or subdue a young person. You had every option. There's no reason to choose something so brutal and humiliating.

"Fourth, let's talk about the trial. In virtually every circumstance, the Jedi Council has no right to enforce anything more than expulsion from the Order. In certain specialized circumstances, when and only when the Republic's legal instruments delegate a final judgment to the Council, that judgment must conform to the full spectrum of Republic law, including the potential for capital punishment. Anything else is injustice. That said, the justice of the decision is irrelevant, though I apologize to Joshua for my pointed words at the trial. The issue is not whether you were right, Syn -- it's whether you had the right to overrule the Council and make that call on your own. And to my shame, I went with it rather than speak up, because the call you took it upon yourself to make was justice, as I see it.

"Fifth...why the feth is the Council endorsing infiltration of the Confederacy while alliance talks are in progress? The Confederacy may be the only friend the Republic has, apart from the Mandalorians, and you're stealing their people? But since you're using this as ammunition against DragonsFlame, I can only assume that, once more, this was a decision you took on your own initiative.

"Sixth, your conduct in relation to Aleidis. Nobody here except Aleidis and the Grandmaster knows that I didn't return weeks ago, I returned to the order almost three years ago, as a spirit inhabiting a tsil crystal which Aleidis has worn frequently. In other words, gentlemen, I know far, far too much. I was there the day an eight-hundred-year-old Jedi Master made a move on a sixteen-year-old Ghostling. And I have never forgotten that particular breach of conduct. Those of us who live for centuries have a responsibility to propriety. You broke it. Thoroughly. In relation to someone I consider a daughter."

Josh raised an eyebrow at the mention of Syn making a MOVE on Aleidis, who was many many years his junior... And it took all he had to not shoot the nastiest, most hateful glare @[member="Syn"]'s way ever possible. The sympathy and remorse was gone right there. Any confusion about Syn's conduct had been cleared up right there in that one statement. He had heard from Aleidis about Je'gan being in her tsil crystal... And he knew the Jedi Master, despite taking advantage of Syn's actions at the trial, would not lie in relation to Aleidis.

If Josh were not a Jedi, didn't have the morals he did about death, and if Syn hadn't been his fellow Jedi... He would have killed him right there. He knew it.

Ben sat calmly as the three of them went back and forth at each other. He wished to stand up and yell at each and every one of them, since he had been gone, they had all made decisions without him so much as being notified about it. It was his own fault, though, he had gone away with very little notice and the hope that they would be able to work any problems out amongst themselves. But a trial going over the death of a fellow Jedi? Spying on potential allies? Hurting Padawans in the safety of their temple? It was enough to push him over, but as always, Ben remained calm with a relaxed expression played upon his face.

"Before any of this continues," He interjected, his voice louder than normal, he wanted them to all hear him. Normally, when he spoke, people listened. "You would all be wise to remember that we are all on the same team here. The spite that is harbored between Knight Dragonsflame and Master Syn is off putting and frankly disappointing. I understand that tensions have been high due to my absence, and I take full responsibility for that, but I will not watch as you two get at each others throats in my presence. So I will ask you very kindly, only once, to act professional or you will both be asked to leave and myself and Je'gan will deliberate amongst ourselves."

"One thing I do wish to address is the trial of Matsu. I was not there but I have gone over the reports, one thing I do want to say, there is not a person in this room who has the right to put anyone, especially a Jedi, to death. Not even myself. There will never be another trial that gets close to mimicking that trial and that is the final word on the topic. We do not kill unless given no other option. Do we have an understanding?" Ben looked at every person in the room, including Aleidis, as he spoke and he made sure that they understood that he was serious. It was difficult for a man who did not raise his voice or project any ill will towards anyone no matter what they had done to him or anyone he cared for.

"Syn, any actions that you take from here on out will be carefully reviewed by myself. You are a member of the Jedi Council but that does not give you the right to go out on your own and make decisions that could ultimately come back to haunt the Jedi no matter what the reward. You are scrutinized closely by every Jedi, a role model, not someone to go off and make quick decisions without deliberating with your fellow Council members. I chose you all for a reason, you all have strengths and you all have weaknesses, and together we can all come to an agreement that is right for the Jedi."

"As to you striking a Padawan..... This is never an option. You know better than that and you cannot sit there and tell me it was your only option. And as for Je'gan's accusation of your relations with Aleidis, I have no proof other than his word, and that of Aleidis's. With all of this being said, and it pains me to say this, I will be putting forth a motion to have you removed from the Jedi Council. Your actions are not that of a Jedi Council member and I think you know that. We work as a team and we uphold the integrity of the Jedi Order. Je'gan, Joshua, do you have anything else to add?"

Syn

Nimir-ra to Iella, Jedi Shadow
Syn flicked his head towards Je'gan and spoke. "Iella has been my padawan and away from the Templars since before the peace talks were even spoken of. My job was to access potential threats to the jedi and that led me to CIS space. If I found evidence it would be brought before the council at the time. I found no makings of a threat just failed jedi trying to teach others and Iella who wanted to be more then a templar. As to the rest if you feel so uncomfortable perhaps actually saying so would have been prominent. Instead you allowed it to go on and only now choose to talk about it. To bring it up here when we have a wonderfully place council chamber for this sort of discussions."

Then his head flicked to the grandmaster as the man spoke and he nodded. "Very well then Grandmaster. There is no need for more, I have duties to my padawan's to see to." Then he rose and bowed remaining neutral before departing back to his ship. This meant many things but now.. Now he had more time to train Iella and Celtic, to teach Elayne Hawk and a smirk came to his face while he moved. Also meant he would have time to teach himself more.
